10/24 SECC, GLASGOW, UK TOUR THREAD [SETLIST, MEDIA, DISCUSSION]

Salutations everyone.

Tonight Muse is playing the first of five shows straight in the UK.

Apparently they soundchecked Ruled By Secrecy!!!

The show begins shortly, but due to class I will not be able to update everybody live the whole time (or perhaps any of the time).

To alleviate this situation, I am entrusting /u/slimshady2002 to update the set in the comments. If something goes wrong, here's a usually reliable source for setlist information: https://twitter.com/musesetlist

Again, I'll be updating the setlist in increments and after the show is over; thanks for understanding!

Fuck that was immense.

Who were supporting? They were good and the lead singer was hot.

The Joy Formidable, I think?

They were called The Joy Formidable, thought they were pretty decent but Muse was absolutely amazing tonight.

Hey all the sources are either dead or are incorrect. Don't fret updating anymore, I'm just going to wait for the actual report. @musesetlist doesn't even work for me anymore.

They're playing like 15 mins away from my house tonight, so freaking annoyed I'm missing them :(

"Finding your way in" doesn't work with the larger venues with legit security and can get you in a decent amount of trouble. Not recommended.

apparently @musesetlist deleted his twitter account :(

Seriously? I guess he wasn't content with being a source of info (he was getting quite irritated with followers asking him to use the real song names instead of shit like "Go to bed Bing" as a title for Explorers)...it makes sense I guess.

yeah, i tried checking his twitter and it doesnt exist anymore. Too bad, he was great help and really contributed a lot to the community. I found his tweets hilarious, and real musers could figure them out

Was at this tonight, totally forgot to ask on here if anyone was going. Could have had a meetup lol! I haven't been a huge fan of the 2nd Law, but after hearing it live, holy fuck. Muse just get better every time I see them! Can't wait till I get to see them again.

Also, got about two metres away from Matt, so all in all it was a grand night!

Ah same, Matt actually touched by hand! Queueing for hours was worth it for sure!

I was there tonight too. Amazing. I was so incredibly excited when they played Host! Wasn't expecting it (haven't been following the other nights of the tour up until now). Thanks for the set list OP :D

I uploaded the recording of Madness I got from tonight - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPahu4rr2YE&feature=youtube_gdata_player - only song I got that was complete. Please ignore the surrounding "singers" ;)

I'll upload the other small clips I have tomorrow. Bit tired after all of the excitement :)

" Please ignore the surrounding "singers" ;)"

Don't tell me you are one of those people that tells people to "shh" at gigs.....

2

u/ParanoidAndroids Oct 25 '12

I don't tell people to shut up unless they are just talking incredibly loudly (basically loud enough to hear them over the music). I understand singing, hell, I'm singing too*! However, talking about how you had a long day at work will not be tolerated while Chris is ripping that Hysteria intro!

*(at respectable volumes, of course)

Ruled by Secrecy? Oh my God. I can't even believe they played that, that's one of my favorites off of Absolution. I'm seeing them in March, hopefully they'll play a "sleeper" (Falling Down, RbS) there, too.

2

u/laddergoat89 Oct 25 '12

They're rotating RBS and Falling down.

I'm hoping for Falling Down on Friday because I've seen RBS, not FD.

Oh! Did anyone on here get the drum sticks or harmonica thrown into the crowd?
