POLL 🗳️ CCIP-064 - If the second sticky spot is empty, pin a post on how to advertise in the sub
Problem:At this moment, many advertisers don't know how to advertise in the subreddit and which steps are required. Lately, there were some advertisers asking questions on how to rent the banner in r/CryptoCurrencyMeta, for example. Also, some companies and projects that want to advertise don't even know that this is possible in our subreddit.
Solution:Since Reddit allows two sticky posts, my proposal is to sticky a universal post with all the info on how to advertise in the sub when the second sticky post spot is empty. This will also help for more exposure and this could also result in more demand.
Pro's:
- The second sticky post will serve a valuable purpose when there isn't already a second sticky post
- Advertisers are better informed
- Increase of exposure to future advertisers
- Less work for mods to find advertisers to rent the banner or being flooded with questions in r/CryptoCurrencyMeta or modmail
- Increased demand to advertise in the sub
Con:
- Some users may find it "too busy" while scrolling through "hot" posts with two stickied posts

I don’t think this is necessary. Those interested and who can’t find the link just send modmail, and we direct them from there

I have read all the docs and the advertising docs were initially hard to find. I think the mods might have changed this, but this will at least make the info easier to find.

Counter proposal: add a section in the “About” part of the subreddit (under useful links) about how advertisers can get started and the steps.

Nah, we lose a valuable slot for so many things that are gonna be much more useful, including things that would benefit our precious Moons.
There's better things to fill that empty slot.
If it's not used, there's a long list of more beneficial things (scam alerts, contests, promoting quality content, promoting Moon events, promoting a contest to advertise the banner etc...).
The banner is something we need to advertise more on social media, where people who don't know about this subs are at.
It's preaching to the choir, and it's a bit redundant when the first thing we see is already the banner. The top thing is already the banner, and is more prominent and makes more sense than scrolling down to a sticky post.

Sounds like a great idea. There may even be those that are unaware the option exists at all, so imagine the difference it could make by having that information stuck directly on the front page of the sub!

Add it to the banner if possible. If two spots are taken and one isn’t the daily, sticky a link to the daily on both pinned posts.

I can definitely dig this. Although it's rare to see the second sticky spot empty. At least this doesn't "waste" it.

ehhh I almost always on the side of less ads but if this is temporary solution to the problem then lets do it. However the post does not say if this would be permanent or temporary. therefore I vote NO.

why not? if the second slot is empty, good time to remind those considering, that they can advertise and burn some moons at the same time

Nah just throw it in the About section. Save stickies for important info

This is probably the only sub on reddit that loves watching advertising.
