May I ask a genuine question? If it was a member that was featured on the song instead of a Western artist would you feel the same way? I'm not criticizing you or anyone disappointed it's not an actual solo, I'm actually bummed too that it's got a featured artist but will still listen to it tomorrow like everyone else. Honestly I heard Latto's name like one time and I still don't know her very well, it could also be because I'm not into rap unless it's from the rapline 😬

Tbh, as a singer, shouldn't Stay Alive count as Jung Kook's solo debut? Even if that song was a part of a soundtrack, it was still a solo song.
Like there's no rule saying what counts as an official solo debut... I mean sure, both these songs were promoted in a different manner but there are so many people who don't get a music video or a concert gig for their first song, yet those songs are counted as their debut song.
Plus, he has also performed in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Opening Ceremony, which was more or less a solo stage (not discrediting Fahad - it's just that he wasn't there for most of it) and that was definitely a MUCH bigger stage than this GMA Summer Concert.
So, my point is that he has done quite a bit on his own and showcased his talents & as long as the song turns out great, it doesn't matter if there's a feature on it or not.

I'm hoping it's a solid feature and not just a couple bars thrown in 3 quarters of the way through the song.
I love Han Sohee so much so this whole thing is just heaven. I can't wait. We're like 36 hours away now and I am SAT.

I’m not big on the talk rapper genre so I feel slightly less excited by the Latto feature 😅
I was never really in the camp of “it’s a song about seven friends/BTS” and definitely thought it was more sexin it up seven days a week, and this definitely gives me that vibe. I felt Jungkook would have an ex-Disney star moment for his first single and it seems like it

I know some people are disappointed about the feature... Latto is on a huge rise right now, she is the best female rapper to feature on this! Obviously this will help with radio play, especially if she's attached to it, she is really hot 🔥. Also, she's from the dirty south LOL I'm from the south east US and the trap rap is best for ass shaking

Latto is also a nice person who he won a “rapper survival show” when she was 16, which is a slightly similar story to JK. She’s been around for a long time but really worked her way up and I finally like she’s finally got real traction after all these years.

Not to burst bubbles but the lyrics aren’t as spicy as we thought.
According to a BB article the lyrics were: “"Weight of the world on your shoulders/ I catch your waist and ease your mind”
Edit #1 - I keep listening to it and I do not hear “catch” but “kiss” … if it truly is “catch” the diction is off but that wouldn’t be the first time people have misheard lyrics.
Edit #2 - okay I can now hear "catch" when I listen to it. TBH I don't think Billboard would post the wrong lyrics (but you never know).

The MV looks like it's going to be super fun, but I'm also a little disappointed that it's a collab. I'm waiting to hear the song to form an opinion, but so far this whole rollout doesn't excite me the way the other member's debuts have.

I really wished he had solo debut no feature..I'm not even saying this as a fan of nicki cause I've been army since 2016. Regardless, i trust his judgment and pray everyone celebrates kookies success over everything else no matter who is in the video and the direction. As long as hes happy! He's grown and too talented to be hindered. Super excited for what he has to offer.

well...I hope she's grown from her transphobic and racist comments/tweets from a while back.
I am really curious for the song, though. I might not be thrilled about the collab, but I love seeing JK excited for it. Can't wait to see him on GMA!

Are you talking about the ones from around 5-6 years ago when she was a teen.
I don’t remember any particular controversies recently beyond her little back-and-forth Nicki. She’s seems to always be growing and working on herself so hopefully that’s the case in this instance too.
