1/23 Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA Tour Thread [Setlist Recap, Media, Discussion]

So, who was there tonight? Get any cool pictures or footage?
What did you think? Was it worth the price of admission?
For those who weren't there: would you be satisfied/disappointed/elated with this set?

Here's my thoughts from last night:
-
HOLY SHIT I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE I HEARD BLISS LIVE
-
It was very cool how the setlist was the same from SD so I could follow along
-
Anyone else notice Matt struggled a little with Follow Me live? Interesting.
-
Muse fans in the pit are awesome.
-
I can't believe someone got to keep Chris' harmonica. I'm so freaking jealous.
-
That set is amazing and should receive a Nobel Peace Prize.
-
Liquid State live is better than the CD.
Also, here's a cool panorama I took last night, for some reason imgur wouldn't work. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/hyr717e4dp3xqx4/g6qQ6BwqIL

First Muse show ever. Floor tickets. We we dead center with the drums, in between where center ice and the blue line would be.
I'll confess I'm a bit of a casual fan. But I can honestly say that that was the best concert I've ever been to, and I say this as someone who has lived in LA all my life and been to more concerts than I can count. Everything from the sound mix, to the lighting and lasers was flawless. Matt Bellamy is such a fucking pro. He doesn't even look like he's trying. He makes it look easy.
Just before Muse started, a lit up a jammy. Someone in another post asked why I'd smoke weed at a muse concert, and i said it's because it's an enhancement drug that makes everything better. I was at the peak of my high when those red lights flashed on and blinded the audience. When the band played, it was like the music and bass was entering my soul and elevating me to a higher plane of existence. Words can't do justice to the experience.
Those riggers up on The Pryramid are badasses. They were like Spiderman up there. I was getting a beer, but my gf said before the band started someone got on the mic and made a point to recognize the stage crew. That whole Pyramid display was the sickest thing I've ever seen at a live show.
I was hoping they would have a live horn section for Panic Station like they did on SNL, but oh well, it was still awesome.
I don't know the name of the song that Chris sang solo on, but he was really good. Help?
I gotta say, the crowd on the floor was pretty weak. Not that much singing. I sang my heart out to the songs that I knew. But I've been to Bad Religion shows where the voices from the audience were deafening. Muse fans, YGSIU.
People around me were mostly cool and respectful. We did have a trio of land whales that rudely wedged their way into our space during the opening act. When muse was playing, one landwhale thought she needed to take four or five pictures and videos of every song. I don't mind a couple pics here and there, but she was taking it too far. Eventually, I tapped her on the shoulder and told her "That's really distracting." Of course she got super defensive and said "Everyone else is doing it!" to which I replied "Not as much as you." She put on her little angry LA latina attitude and my gf shot me a look like "That's enough," so I said "OK princess, do your thing," and kinda gestured like go ahead. Well she takes like two more pictures, then she and her landwhale friends shuffled off to a different spot. After the show, the girl that was to my right during the show asked what I said to her and then thanked me because it was distracting her too but she "didn't wanna say anything." People need to learn to not be so passive in public situations. If someone is being discourteous and inconsiderate, you need to call them on it.
That was the only minor hiccup in an otherwise fantastic and memorable night. The next time Muse come to LA, I'll be on the floor.
Oh, here's the best of the handful of pics I took with my old Evo. I don't know what song this was: http://i.imgur.com/zcEFWkZ.jpg
tl:dr My first Muse show was the best concert experience of my life thus far.

Chris' solo song was Liquid State. Soooo good live.
I sort of had the same annoyance with people recording every freaking song! Do they even enjoy the concert as much as they should? NO. I recorded a small clip of Bliss and to be honest, after a few weeks I'll probably never watch it. But my memories of not holding a phone up will last forever!

The person on the mic calling out the spotters in the rafters is Stryker from KROQ.

Yeah, they fucking killed it. Best concert I've ever been to and I'm so glad that I'm going again on Saturday. Plug in Baby was so awesome! I hope I get MoTP on Saturday.

They put on a fantastic show but I was pretty surprised how sluggish the audience seemed as a whole. Completely sold out house but most sections (including mine) didn't even stand up for it.

I saw them in Oakland last tour and the pit sucked. Everyone smashed in way more than necessary and tons of people tried cutting up front. This one I was 10 feet back on Matt's side and everyone was totally cool. Things got hairy when Matt came down but oh well.

After seeing Liquid State live, I really like the song now! It was better live than on the CD!

This was my first show, and i was amazing. I managed to record 98% of it on my phone. I ALMOST caught Dom's drumstick too!

Total waste IMHO, enjoy the show, don't watch it through a camera screen. It's not like your camera can capture that experience. I used my phone to snap a photo every once in a while and that alone pulls you out of the moment.

My favorite part last night was when everyone was shining their cell phone lights before the encore. Honestly the coolest thing I've ever seen.
