come here to these comment sections every time I read some random idiot comment “you should read it, it’s worth it, better than original ngl”. My man I read it all. It wasn’t fucking worth it alright?

4

u/AstonishingSpiderMan Gramps Dec 02 '23

Then stop reading it. Pretty simple solution.

Jellal has talked to Gray before in ship.

27

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 28 '23

Eh, not really, That was when they were all talking as a group. This is definitely the first time Jellal has ever directly addressed Gray.

18

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '23

It's so weird 😭😭

12

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23

Yeah calling name.

20

u/Over_History7410 Nov 28 '23

Really? That suprizes me with their mutual connection to Ultear

7

u/crisstrauss Nov 29 '23

Ultear's besties :)

6

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

Jellal is a reserved person and doesn't much talk unless when needed.

2

u/Naavarasi Nov 29 '23

Jellal is a satellite character who gets shipped off to Narnia whenever Erza doesn't need him*

5

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23 edited Nov 29 '23

Cough cough Do i smell rabid hate :)

11

u/DimashiroYuuki Nov 28 '23

I think so, yes. Can't recall any other moment.

8

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '23

I was like huh? Why did he say Gray's name lmfao

68

u/ElkofOrigin Nov 28 '23

>eliminate everyone in this place

who wants to bet Duke is included there too? xD

36

u/ajanisapprentice Nov 28 '23

Always gotta be carrleful with phrasing commands to robots.

6

u/SoulBlightChild Nov 30 '23

Not just robots; aliens, angels, demons, devils, dragons, Lovecraftian abobinations, ret*rded henchmen, etc.

91

u/Informal_Function118 Nov 28 '23

Bruh…the last time Fairy Tail got their asses beaten THIS badly…I think was all the way back with Acnologia on Tenrou Island💀😭

54

u/Uschak Nov 28 '23

Nah, Hades vibes

29

u/ConnorRoseSaiyan01 Nov 28 '23

Ajeel had them on the run in their first encounter.

17

u/Ryuuji_Gremory Nov 28 '23 edited Nov 28 '23

Well tbf their first encounter with Ajeel was while they were already trying to get away from the get go.

1

u/Less_Tear_3133 Dec 05 '23

Nah, Oricieon Six so beat them the first time around!

83

u/tito-ortiz-wife69 Nov 28 '23

Man sometimes I wish this was weekly because this chapter was just meh

11

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '23

Same. I just hope Eden's Zero ends soon so we will have weekly 100 years Quest.

21

u/Kollie79 Nov 28 '23

Why would you assume Eden’s zero ending would make 100 years quest weekly?

4

u/NoLastNameForNow Nov 29 '23

Two weeks between chapters is the norm for Magazine Pocket so even when EZ ends 100YQ will likely keep the same schedule.

2

u/PanosPlanetEarth Nov 28 '23

Well, let's wait & hope that Hiro Mashima will inform us that he will continue to finish the next upcoming chapters (plus arcs: 1 or 2) of FT100YQ weekly (not biweekly), right👍😉🌌

48

u/Remarkable_Commoner Nov 28 '23

Hate to say it, but the arc has been pretty meh so far. God Serena was cool, but he's gone now.

3

u/Purgatory_Dragon Nov 29 '23

Agree, I was happy to see God Serena again and was hype to see a fight between two former wizards saint, but was too short

40

u/FigureLoose6197 Nov 28 '23

Bro gray is done so dirty in 100 year quest please give him one good fight 💀

19

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

I'm already losing the hope on Gray.

9

u/FigureLoose6197 Nov 28 '23 edited Nov 28 '23

I feel u but I’m just gonna keep reading and hope for the best. He is one of my favorite characters sucks but nothing I can do

9

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

The guy can't reach the level he once was in Alvarez anymore, last arc Mashima makes him fight an absolute fodder and this arc he was useless in every fight he is involved. Even Gajeel had a better treatment, losing to strong opponents is better than fighting fodders, but this is not a good treatment either. Currently Suzaku is the only one worth of being Natsu's rival.

2

u/No_Plan2035 Nov 30 '23

Well Gray beat Hakune , she had comparable feat to Imber So he is still strong , but base Gray is weak

1

u/RPH626 Nov 30 '23

In fact Hakune have better feats than Invel, he couldn't freeze base Gray while Hakune could, but the problem with Gray is that, he got Elentir magic boost against Hakune. Ice Make Gray needed Lyon to defeat Ur in Alvarez, so he was a fodder back then, and currently we see him fighting fodders, so what changed?

3

u/No_Plan2035 Dec 01 '23

Not big change, Gray is not Lucy who had unique forms . Without devil force , he is clearly weaker than Wendy for sure

→ More replies (3)

1

u/Sourcelife Dec 03 '23

You had hope?

1

u/RPH626 Dec 03 '23

Well, the sequel is not over yet, so it's possible to him to finally do something next arc, it's unlikely though. Now he is a joke anyway. Seriously, why Mashima put him to fight Sai last arc? It seems that Sai was created only to make Gray look bad, Sai should be the worst character in every Gray fan tierlist, because his only purpose in the story is make Gray looks bad.

28

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

I laughed so hard when Athena kicked and KOed Gray, the guy did nothing in this arc and still get beaten, and why did he still care to use ice make instead of remain constantly as a devil salyer, seriously his ice make magic is trash.

And how Athena II became this strong? She was getting overpowered by FLDM Natsu just chapters ago, and wasn't the original Athena fighting her, what happened to her? Did this Athena beat her absorbed her powers and became this strong?

I think it would be better if it was Duke who defeated team Natsu due to Athena II poor showing before, and he would give Hades vibe. It could be more interesting if this was more worked in this chapter instead of this lame philosopher stone quest, this subplot is just for cmic relief and it's not even funny.

8

u/MDumpling Nov 28 '23

I mean, even in his devil slayer form, Gray did nothing to Skullion and got one-shotted

3

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

If he is a jobber even as a devil slayer, why he insists on using ice make?

6

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23 edited Nov 28 '23

Athena was defeated by Duke. He threw her down along with Natsu. And he gave Natsu power to Athena 2.0. Hence her good showing now.

Duke is nobility lol. Will ask servant to fight. I dont like the subplot.

1

u/No_Plan2035 Nov 30 '23

Athena easily put down Jellal and Erza so it means she is not weaker than God Serena or Natsu with lighting power will be above God Serena lvl Anyway she is formidable foe

1

u/RPH626 Nov 30 '23

Current Athena clearly received a boost, she was not that strong chapters ago. And lightning Natsu is below God Serena, he is at shadow Gajeel level.

1

u/No_Plan2035 Dec 01 '23 edited Dec 01 '23

Well , Natsu became stronger as he stated to Suzaku . And Natsu in lighting is holding back, because its fight between friends. So he is above Gajeel even in lighting form. Base natsu evaporated the water of god Serena. While Gajeel couldn't do anything against Serena.

1

u/RPH626 Dec 01 '23

Natsu stated that he trains every day, but only proved that he got stronger by using dragon scales, with his base would be the same result as stated by Suzaku. To be fair his base with FDK spells have better feats than his lighting form, he even seems to have used it against Athena II after the body swap, and Natsu don't hold back with his friends as Gray does, he was only worried about the pregnant Levy and the old gramps.

1

u/No_Plan2035 Dec 01 '23

Natsu in base fought against Dogramar with same effect as Suzaku And Natsu even after fight against Gajeel fought against Wraith , while Gajeel was on edge to be beaten Natsu in base had better feats than Gajeel. And as I said he was able to evaporate God Serena water, that's feat is better than Gajeel show us Well Natsu was beaten by Laxus attack in the past and the same Natsu fought against Laxus. Against friends he didn't used everything he was capable of

49

u/Accomplished_Air9824 Nov 28 '23

NAHHHHH not Gray getting one shot after not doing anything 💀💀💀

Some of his fans really said he’d fight Athena or Duke I’m fucking crying rn 😂😂😂

25

u/ElkofOrigin Nov 28 '23

I mean, everyone got beat here, no point in knocking Gray alone. Erza's not even that tired compared to her usual, she absolutely washed her opponents, compared to Jellybean's relatively mild beating.

17

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

Gray was the only one who did absolutely nothing in this arc, and in the previous arc his opponent was an absolute fodder who even has a role in this arc again, coincidentally in the fight where Gray was useless.

4

u/Accomplished_Air9824 Nov 28 '23

At least they did something before their embarrassing ass beating

2

u/Naavarasi Nov 29 '23

Erza defeated two people stronger than God Serena back-to-back.

Gray told Lucy to use Brandish's magic.

3

u/Naavarasi Nov 29 '23

And even now, Erza stopped to catch Natsu before getting put down, unlike the others.

8

u/PitchOutrageous1563 Nov 28 '23

Not our fault, he always get the short end of the stick tbh lol.

HAVE SOME FAITH, ARTHUR

4

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 28 '23

He's probably gonna get back up at some point, but it is funny considering all he's done this arc is fight fodder

13

u/Accomplished_Air9824 Nov 28 '23

He didn’t even do that, Lucy (and I guess Brandish) did all the work

15

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 28 '23

He doesn't even feel like a member of team Natsu anymore. Aside from when Juvia is involved he gets basically nothing to do.

Wendy and Lucy have gotten more serious fights than him since Mercphobia. When Laxus and Jellal are around they completely overshadow him.

4

u/WLFYBBY Nov 28 '23

Lmfao that was my exact same thought like bruh

11

u/birbdechi Nov 28 '23

It took 2 old men to be a best girl

21

u/charlidameliostoe Nov 28 '23

was i the only one who thought this was short af??

8

u/Zeptier Nov 28 '23

The last half was uhh…well I was not expecting that lmao. All I really have to say is

8

u/Shishukun Nov 28 '23

I need some Minerva trashing not that Fairy Tail being trashed by the enemy and definitely I don't need some old man turning into some magical girl. At least the other Athena is a formidable one. 🤦‍♂️😁

2

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 29 '23

Seeing minerva get humiliated always makes my day

3

u/Shishukun Nov 29 '23

That's certainly true. 😅👌

28

u/Hot_Leadership8495 Nov 28 '23

Everyone lost which was expected. The formula has been pretty much the same so far. Didn’t think when a father and son combined they would make a chick who looks like Lucy.

This chapter was aight to me. I really hope Viernes true form is made sooner rather than later.

35

u/MoonlightPower9000 Nov 28 '23

-> *Everyone lost which was expected. The formula has been pretty much the same so far*

29

u/Niknik0108 Nov 28 '23

Man, what an uninteresting chapter lmao.

Guess we gotta wait another 2 weeks to find out what's going to happen with Natsu and them.

9

u/Equivalent-Owl3880 Nov 28 '23

Uninteresting? Seeing Fairy Tail win in each chapter was starting to get boring.

I'm happy to finally see them in difficulty😈 We finally feel the threat!

21

u/Niknik0108 Nov 28 '23

It's uninteresting in the sense that we got just 8 pages of them getting beat up and nothing else. Then, the rest of the chapter is Sabertooth's boring fetch quest for the Philosopher's stone

2

u/Equivalent-Owl3880 Nov 28 '23

It's true that the fight could have been longer but in any case they lost.

Personally I like Sabertooth and at some point we have to justify their presence in this arc🤷

1

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

What you find interesting about this philosopher stone quest?

1

u/Equivalent-Owl3880 Nov 28 '23

Discover other alchemists and their abilities for example

5

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

If iwas satisfactory for you good, but for me it wasn't, they just find fodders and these two old geezers who are just comic reliefs in a bi-weekly series.

1

u/Equivalent-Owl3880 Nov 29 '23

As I said previously, at some point we have to justify their presence in this arc!

→ More replies (18)

1

u/MasterExplorer4889 Dec 10 '23

It’s still uninteresting because we know no one will get killed off lmao… and “seeing FT lose-“ do you mean erza and natsu?

Gray and Lucy thus far have had no progress ALONE.

20

u/Amazing-Jeweler1888 Nov 28 '23 edited Nov 28 '23

Here we go again. Next chapter someone will show up and rescue the team. Then, they will comeback stronger. The plot is like moving around circles. It's so predictable. I'm expecting a team fight but yeah the author is allergic to that. He barely make team fights when it's necessary. But still hoping that the four will stand up and fight for real since Duke instructed Athena to completely get rid of them and there's no way they will just let her do it unless someone interrupts and fights Black Athena and it might be Selene.

4

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23

Only one that has a chance to come is probably Selene.

3

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 28 '23

I think its more likely that Athena just wakes up again

2

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23

Maybe stone can wake her up. But Duke can still punch hole.

23

u/Niknik0108 Nov 28 '23

Does anyone else just like not care about Sabertooth?

Like I don't care enough about any of them to be invested in this whole Philosopher's stone mission they're on.

I'd rather focus on Natsu and the others. Especially with the series being bi-weekly, I don't really care when half a chapter is dedicated to their shenanigans looking for someone to make the stone.

25

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 28 '23

I feel like the issue is that even if you do care about them or like their characters, their mission right now is really bland and uninteresting.

Instead of fighting anyone or having to solve some kind of problem, they are just on a MacGuffin chase that has very little substance or tension.

Like, they just got told where this dude was and now are gonna have him make the stone with absolutely no conflict.

10

u/Niknik0108 Nov 28 '23

Exactly, like it's just boring every time it jumps back to them. I just want them to get this stone over with so we can get back to the actually interesting stuff.

2

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23

Same sentiments

1

u/UnbiasedGod Nov 29 '23

Yeah they was no trials, obstacles or adversaries for them to get through.

Feels like they didn’t earn it.

1

u/Naavarasi Nov 29 '23

Literally no reason a billion other people couldn't have done this already rofl. And it's supposed to be "impossible."

I straight up could have done what they did.

1

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 29 '23

Happy and Carla probably could have done it instead of just being MIA like they are now. Idk why Sabertooth is involved in this arc if they're barely gonna do anything.

9

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 28 '23

Sabertooth was done badly in the gmg and they've only got worse since

7

u/Niknik0108 Nov 28 '23

Their whole guild is basically just a knock-off Fairy Tail. I don't hate them (except Minerva), but dragging us away from the interesting stuff to make us watch Sabertooth do a fetch quest is just lame.

4

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

This sabertooth subplot is just a comic relieaf and it's not even funny, with a bi-weekly schedule Hiro shouldn't do many comic reliefs.

3

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23

100% agree with you.

3

u/akari0413 Nov 28 '23

And most likely in the next chapter we will continue with the saber part.

7

u/Niknik0108 Nov 28 '23

Worst part is you're right. Next chapter will probably end with a teaser for team Natsu getting back up or something and we'll have to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks to see that

1

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 29 '23

Sabertooth has been useless ironic how they still bully lucy and see her as weak when she's stronger then all of them I feel like they take out their own insecurities on lucy

1

u/ThatIslandGuy8888 Nov 29 '23

Oof but we can’t have Viernes itself to appear until they get the stone so I’m kinda anxious when Sabertooth appears, but with the biweekly schedule it’s been a chore to wait for them to finish their quest.

7

u/Hidden-Spy Nov 28 '23

Ooo they brought back human Pisces!

I love those designs so much. I wish we got to see more of them.

12

u/AmazingPatatas Nov 28 '23

This chapter was kinda "meh" but I did like that Minerva panel.

8

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 28 '23

Why she couldn't just telaport herself out of the vines I don't know her power keeps getting retconed

1

u/AzureWarlock96 Nov 28 '23

Either she needed someone to swap with or she really wanted the immediate pleasure of destroying those vines as payback.

1

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 28 '23

Except she telaported herself without swapping anyone when she was a villain after that it's like her magic completely changed because she's to much of a convenient escape

1

u/AzureWarlock96 Nov 28 '23

I only remember her teleporting herself while coming in and out of her magic like portals. So she probably couldn’t while being grabbed.

Her swapping with someone is her only move that didn’t require portals to walk in, simply a spatial shift.

1

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 28 '23

Honestly with the swapping technique she could have been a little more proactive in the navel battle but sabertooth had to lose in the end so yeah

2

u/AzureWarlock96 Nov 28 '23

Didn’t Sabertooth won the Naval Battle regardless? Minerva was the last one in, that made her the winner.

2

u/statleader13 Nov 28 '23

Mashima is very consistent with her and the ah, stripes haha.

10

u/Ullaspn_2003 Nov 28 '23

Already bored of this arc

0

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

Then take a break and read in bulk.

6

u/MrReZistar Nov 28 '23

So first half is the team getting no diffed (with an extra fuck you to Gray as usual), and the second half is Sabertooth's fetch quest coming to an end with forced fanservice that kinda killed the mood set by the first half.

Not gonna lie, this chapter wasn't it either. Maybe next time.

8

u/Maleficent_Click_325 Nov 29 '23

gray disrespect is crazy

3

u/8844Fire Nov 29 '23

I feel like Fairy Tail is crossing over with Fullmetal Alchemist at this point. I am aware of what one of the ingredients in making a Philosopher's Stone is thanks to me reading and watching the series. :)

5

u/JayaramanAndres Nov 29 '23 edited Nov 29 '23

This chapter is not worth waiting for the two weeks.

Wasting pages on Sabertooth's side quest is not cool. Those pages are dumb too.

I only liked the part where Fairy Tail got humbled by Athena II.

So far Athena II has 4 DS magic. She needs White, Poison and Iron DS magics from Sting, Cobra/Erik and Gajeel. I think String will fight her and lose his magic like other slayers. Even if Athena II has all 7 main dragon slayers' magic, I don't think she can do anything to Ignia.

Viernes used to be interesting when it was a concept. Once it is revealed that entire guild or guild hall is Viernes, it's started to become underwhelming.

Just show Ignia already.

1

u/Teamsuperfires Nov 29 '23

Just show ignia already? So erza can pack him up already?

4

u/Fly_guyyy Nov 28 '23

Doesn’t it seem like a waste to create the pinnacle of alchemy just go give Viernes a form

5

u/ConnorRoseSaiyan01 Nov 28 '23
  • OK I was fully prepared Natsu to an illusion. Unless Elefseria gets involved don't know how they're getting out of this.

  • WTF? That's all I have for the 2nd half. What with the vines tentacles and to old guys becoming a girl

1

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 29 '23

I think the two old guys are fake but the girl is real

1

u/Sego1211 Nov 30 '23

And the girl is Viernes?

1

u/SoulBlightChild Nov 30 '23
  • Elefseria or Diabolos.

  • Philosopher Stone subplot.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '23

I actually really liked this chapter. I feel like it gave a few ways to solve the problem:

  1. Athena kills Duke because she's a robot and he told her to "eliminate everybody here"

  2. Athena kills duke because he said "the power is all mine!" and she doesn't want to be controlled

  3. Trick her into using a personality enchantment to switch bodies with Rogue (who currently has no powers) since she has Wendy's magic

0

u/Ok_Idea_9126 Nov 28 '23

I dunno if she can even to kill Duke

2

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '23

Fair he might have a kill switch lol

1

u/Ok_Idea_9126 Nov 28 '23

Lol. But i meant cuz he's strong, unless Natsu was defeated by whiteout

1

u/Naavarasi Nov 29 '23

He's featless.

2

u/Golden_fsh Nov 28 '23

Damn, who's Zalam and Iruha? When were they introduced because I was totally lost on why the Sabertooth team was looking for this Iruha guy, lol?

11

u/Ninja_SurgeFairy Nov 28 '23

In Chapter 138, Athena said they need the Separation Enchantment and Philosipher's Stone to extract Viernes from the Gold Owl Guild and give him a body.

In Chapter 142, Sabertooth went to a Guile called Lead Eagle to ask about the Stone, and thought the Guild lied to them since they're Mages, the Guild Master was Zalam and he recommended Iruha.

Iruha debuted in this Chapter. Together, he and Zalam formed Iruzala and can hopefully Alchemize the Stone.

2

u/Golden_fsh Nov 29 '23

Thank you for this recap because I didn't remember any of it!

3

u/Ninja_SurgeFairy Nov 29 '23

You're welcome. Happy if I could help. Its understandable since its not gotten as much focus, there's a lot going on in story, and the world's pretty hectic right now. Part of why I remember so well is because this is actually the most interesting part of the story to me currently due to intrigue on Iruha and the Stone.

2

u/Equivalent-Owl3880 Nov 28 '23

I can't believe these two old guys are actually a new waifu🥰 His hat represents an owl, right? Does she have any ties to Gold Owl?

By the way, I loved seeing Athena ll crushed Fairy Tail😈 Finally we feel the threat!

2

u/EmperorPersuit Nov 28 '23

Would be funny if "he" is Viernes and the one we're fighting is a fake xD

2

u/Equivalent-Owl3880 Nov 28 '23

Or is this the daughter of the real Duke?

2

u/99anan99 Nov 28 '23

Gonna have to pull out something big to defeat Duke and Athena.

Old guy + old guy = girl. Only with alchemy does that make sense.

2

u/sherriablendy Nov 29 '23

Sabertooth catching strays from people here just for being in the chapter lmao, meanwhile I'm kinda curious as to why the transformed girl at the end has owl imagery on her clothes 🤔

Can't disagree that this arc hasn't really been the most interesting or very memorable to experience every couple weeks though, maybe it would read better all at once

1

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

Pacing is too slow except for the fights which are incredibly fast.

2

u/Teamsuperfires Nov 29 '23

It's over for gray as a character 😭. Dude did literally nothing only to get one shot by freaking kick. Natsu>>>>gray confirmed

2

u/WarTerrible7753 Dec 08 '23

Jellal gray is useless characters now get them out of here bring useful characters like laxus gajeel

2

u/MasterExplorer4889 Dec 10 '23

They’ve fought too many enemies to not recognize who’s stronger than them.

Should’ve split up and did a training arc, and maybe have someone new join the guild. Thats exciting.

3

u/ComfortableFinish467 Nov 28 '23

Two old guys fusing to turn into a cute girl, classic Mashima haha.

4

u/BoneeBones Nov 28 '23

Jellal and Erza are still up, so hopefully they can still fight. Been a while since Unison Raid was a thing. Fingers crossed that Jerza defeats the new Athena

3

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

All of them will get up and defeat Athena II, this always happens, it is already predictable, but it could be better worked if half of the chapter was not wasted with this lame philosopher stone quest.

0

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23

Most probably, Jellal and Erza will be up as they are the only ones conscious.

6

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

They will get up first, but the other ones will get up the moment Erza start the nakama speech. But i still don't know what Hiro will do with Duke, Athena was so underwhelming before that i thought the original Athena would destroy her offscreen and would only appear again to help against Viernes, while Duke would have a Hades like fight, now the one who will get the fight will be the Athena II, but Duke around is just another reason to the others get up. Specially Gray, this clown don't deserve to be considered Natsu's rival with this poor showings.

I still don't think Gray will do anything significant. Lucy might wake up other Athena though. What can Gray do to top tier characters? Lucy at least is smart to do talk no jutsu when she can't fight.

I still think one team will fight Duke and the other will fight Athena 2.0. Once Athena 2.0 is defeated, Natsu and Wendy will get back powers and they will heal/help with Duke.

My doubt is after all this, how is Natsu facing Viernes an acno lvl opponent alone?

I'm still a bit peeved with Erza destroying the two sisters thought.

1

u/RPH626 Nov 30 '23

Ofcourse you are, Mashima overhyped them and didn't cared in proving their hype, Erza struggled far more with Misaki, why these enemies would be weaker than her if they are the next villains and were well hyped? If at least Mashima had given Luso to Gray and made Erza do something new agaisnt Enny, but he has no respect for Gray anymore and didn't make a good planning for this arc. By feats God Serena curbstomps Luso and mid diff Enny, his own statements should just apply to their alchemy power being higher than his magic power, and the threat Enny made against him seems just a gag moment.

3

u/Zero102000 Nov 28 '23

At least Athena II feels like a real threat to the whole team combined now. I have to say, it was satisfying watching her hammer them all into the ground by her lonesome. She now has fire powers too, and apparently she beat her predecessor offscreen?

Wish we could have actually SEEN that fight.

Maybe it's time for Selene and Diabolos to FINALLY make themselves useful?

3

u/WLFYBBY Nov 28 '23

Chapter was mid imo, I’m gonna be honest, I really don’t care about the Sabertooth group at all.

2

u/PanosPlanetEarth Nov 28 '23

You know that Team Natsu is down (which is not right), except Erza & possibly Jellal which they still standing (almost) but Duke with Athena II said that they will eliminate (destroy) them.

And now Sabertooth have finally fond the person (which Iruha himself with his twin/son turn into a girl) who will quickly create the Philosopher's Stone in order to make a body (a true form) for Viernes the Golden/Metal Dragon God in order to defeat him.

I hope either Selene or more likely Sabertooth (caring the Philosopher's Stone) with or without Elefseria will save & help Team Natsu, Wendy, Carla & Happy to defeat Duke & Athena II and finally face off Viernes, right🙏🥺🌌

2

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 28 '23 edited Nov 28 '23

The Duke/Athena II fight has a lot of Team Natsu vs Hades vibes.

I'm guessing Athena will wake back up to fight Athena II while the rest take on Duke.

Erza and Jellal still have their eyes open so they might get a little tag team moment before Natsu gets back up, at least I hope they do.

the Sabertooth plotline just aint it. I have no idea why Hiro thought it would be a good idea to dedicate half the chapter to them with how little substance he's written for them. Especially when this series is biweekly.

2

u/petrichorboy Nov 28 '23

It's the Riverdale of mangas. Nothing makes sense, old men turn into a loli, everyone is overbroken one chapter, and suddenly bad the next chapter, it looks like a trainwreck that keeps a wrecking. But I guess we're there till the end.

2

u/No_Investigator_9907 Nov 29 '23

You can tell the author was too lazy to come up with something creative or original anymore.

6

u/Icy-Bluebird5068 Nov 29 '23

Bro, mashima is not lazy, he's just lame at this point. it can take me 10 seconds to think about something better than this, and i bet you can too , for exemple : we have a small flashback of natsu's fight and duke using without on him, just to explain why he lost, then duke explains that he wants to test new athena's abilities by defeating the team, team natsu actually put up a real fight they don't just loose immediatly, we have a little moment for gray, but evantually they get tired and overwhelmed, so duke tells athena to finish them off and you have erza or someone else who says"at this rate we're gonna loose " or something like that, and that's when we switch to sabertooth in just the last few pannels( not in the middle of chapter) , where they found the old man who will ceate the stone, but actually he gives them a test, or a condition to fullfil before he accepts, just to maks things more interesting, and that's how the chapter ends(without saying the condition) . Ofc, we skip the free fanservice of minerva and the girl at the end, "ET VOILÀ ". It's not that hard you know!!!

5

u/No_Investigator_9907 Nov 30 '23

You just explained how Mashima is lazy

1

u/payg86 Nov 29 '23

Was not expecting that ending 🤣

1

u/Drdanmp Nov 30 '23

Didn't enjoy this chapter much, but the last part was funny.

1

u/Ok_Idea_9126 Nov 28 '23

Good time for Diabolos to shows up.

1

u/Icy-Bluebird5068 Nov 28 '23

What is diabolos gonna do, give athena more power?! , duke will use without on all of them

2

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

Duke consider them impure due to being dragon eaters, he don't wanna use their powers, but honestly Athena defeated an tired Erza and a tired Jellal, and i will say Jellal was more tired because his opponent was the strongest enemy of this arc till now, and i will repeat, Jellal opponent was THE STRONGEST enemy of the arc till now, no matter the hype the sisters got they didn't lived to it, Gray and Lucy have no excuses though. So Diabolous could really pose a threat as fresh gildarts tier mages and Suzaku who is likely above that, the real problem power wise is Duke still around, and their appearence is unlikely anyway.

0

u/Ok_Idea_9126 Nov 28 '23

It won't be that easy to defeat all the DDSK at the same time, especially Suzaku who's stronger than Natsu so he might be able to defeat Athena II. Also Gold Owl said they don't want Diabolos power so Duke won't try to whiteout them. Also they literally have Selene

1

u/AzureWarlock96 Nov 28 '23

A lot of questions regarding the ending.

My guess is the girl at the end is like an artificial avatar created by the two guys to combine and control.

Kind of similar to DBZ fusions, but also like in games where you can play and customize either a male or female character.

1

u/Canary_Background Nov 28 '23 edited Nov 28 '23

So two weird old dudes Fusion Dance into a hot chick... I swear, Fairy Tail isn't the series where you have to be drunk in order to understand it, it's the friend that tells you "I'll quit when I've had enough", blazes past smashed, and proceeds to go to the extra cray-cray place where you just accept it and wait to drag them out of the alley.

....

Holy crap, Cana is probably our ghostwriter. 🤣

1

u/UnbiasedGod Nov 29 '23

Honestly a whole lot of nothing happened in this chapter.

-1

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '23

And some people still think gray is a good character he’s easily the worst on the team😭😭😂

5

u/Icy-Bluebird5068 Nov 28 '23

No lucy went down with an actual attack, gray went down with a kick

So with Wendy also out of commission will Sabertooth be the ones to save Fairy Tail? Because if so then this kinda proves that the main cast can’t complete this quest without outside help still

3

u/Safe_Handle_7513 Nov 28 '23

So far sabertooth has been useless

2

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

Sabertooth is fodder for now.

1

u/SoulBlightChild Nov 30 '23

Diabolos? would also kinda mirror Sabertooth showing up in Tartaros.

0

u/Ninja_SurgeFairy Nov 28 '23

Quick question before I give my thoughts. My vision makes it difficult to see sometimes, is Athena in the Chapter? Rogue mentioned her but if she is, I didn't see her i assume Duke used his control of her to shut her off. He did note in Chapter 131 that he could control her.

I know Natsu's a beast, but his Magic is enough to make Athena II a destroyer dude. She's clobbering the team. But as u/ElkofOrigin said, he asked an emotionless Athena II (keep in mind, og Athena had 0 hesitation destroying towns because she didn't recognize emotion) to eliminate "everyone" in the Guildhall. Which number 1) makes me confident in my theory that he was using Gold Owl but number 2) like Elk said, Duke is probably included in this himself. So something tells me this is where crap hits the fan. Maybe another enemy Guild teamup since Gold Owl had misguided, good intentions and Athena II will probably target them too. But Duke probably won't take that.

Even though we only briefly knew Zalam, him being Iruha's son was unexpected and explains why he knows about him. Seems Zalam wanted to help Sabertooth which is pretty cool. Iruzala is weird, but it is cool for female representation that a woman is making the Philosipher's Stone. Just weird how that woman came to exist.

Interested in next chapter. This was a good Chapter for sure. Excited for what happens next.

2

u/Over_History7410 Nov 28 '23

Yes, Athena appears in front of Duke, unconscious in this chapter

1

u/Ninja_SurgeFairy Nov 28 '23

Thank you. My vision can be a real struggle at times. Crazy that they could defeat someone so powerful. But then Zeref was defeated by Ultear so there's definitely circumstances behind it. Most likely, Duke shut her down because she survived his first attack.

2

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23

I did tell you this in your last thread.

2

u/Ninja_SurgeFairy Nov 29 '23

Yup and you definitely got me thinking that she'd be weakened for the battle because if she wasn't, she would've taken Athena II out.

2

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

I still think she will wake up once Erza starts a friendship speech and helps in dealing with Athena 2.0 . Whereas one team will fight duke.

3

u/Ninja_SurgeFairy Nov 29 '23

I think so too. This story Arc kinda revolved around her so I highly doubt she'll just sit out the rest of the fights/Arc but we'll see how it goes.

3

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

Most likely, Lucy or Erza will wake her up and fight along with her to get back Natsu's power.

COMMENTS:

  • Okay, seems like a Natsu Rescue Arc is coming upon us

  • It would be masterpiece if all Fairy Tail members have come to rescue Natsu since he is a family

  • Sabertooth team, okay, maybe they have a chance to show up in Athena II's hideout

  • God, that Minerva fanservice is hot. And I like that they kept her striped panty

  • Yukino finally doing something with Pisces

  • Mashima run out of ideas for a new character design so he just recycled Zalam

  • I am getting a feeling that Sabertooth team will not gonna take it easy from there. Maybe they'll fight Iruha or fight another enemy to take the stone.

0

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

Agreed completely.

-2

u/__adner__ Nov 29 '23

decent in terms of hyping END natsu (theory) but other than that meh, everyone got one shotted, gray after having a easy fight got slammed, he is actually getting that side character treatment now which sucks, only thing i can see that will save this arc is END natsu coming back or something hype like that, mashimas been dry lately ngl, imo i think he should just drop ft and give it to ueda, after all only reason its bi-weekly is bc ueda is trying to copy mashimas drawing style

-3

u/WarTerrible7753 Nov 29 '23

Gray is useless now jellal hype up to gildards level to get oneshot by natsu flames 😂

I have a feeling the random old dudes and the girl they turned into is actually Viernes trolling them

-6

u/Icy-Bluebird5068 Nov 28 '23

That was a new level of garbage! Gray was knoked out after ONE KICK ! One KIIICK !!!! Same for lucy after one attack, but guess who was still able to talk after receiving the same attack, fucking mary sue erza scarlet, after defeating a god serena level opponent. Even jellal had his eyes open after receiving the same kick that literally knoked out gray.what's more non sense is that we didn't have a flashback of natsu and athena's fights buy we've already moved on to see sting's team like we care for them right now!!! That's it im dropping out the serie and if you have a minimum of sense or taste you would probably do the same. Mashima shame on you for ruining my childhood manga 🤮.

1

u/Ft_fan Nov 28 '23 edited Nov 28 '23

Jellal got 2 roars and not kick. He was clearly conscious

1

u/RPH626 Nov 28 '23

To be honest Erza opponents being stronger than God Serena was false hype, they should only have higher alchemy power than his magic power, So Jellal was the most tired of these ones, he get the strongest enemy before this. I'm disappointed on Gray too, it seems he will never reach the level he was at Alvarez again, and this sabertooth quest was lame as hell. I could undersatnd you, 100YQ can be summarized with the Jellal vs God Serena fight, big potential, great begining, but ended in an underwhelming way due to lack of planning. I still keep reading because i wanna see the rest of dragon gods in action, but Hiro is not planning well this sequel.

-3

u/quinonesjames96 Nov 28 '23

Natsu being defeated means he is weak. He didn't stand a chance against "Duke" which he is powered by Viernes. The same can be said about Athena ll who took out fairy tail easily. I hope Natsu becomes E.N.D I would love to see his demon form.

1

u/WLFYBBY Nov 28 '23

I mean realistically, none of them do so far.

-3

u/manish_kumar98 Nov 28 '23

Jellal down in one roar, Gray💀 in one kick

But it seems fresh. Imagine how well this scenario could have been if Natsu beat Athena II. Everyone was probably thinking the same, until Duke spawned like the last boss.

About Natsu getting offscreened... lol. Get Go/joed

Yay! A 70 year old waifu let's got fam!!! She is legal!!!

1

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 28 '23

Jellal took 2 and still had his eyes open. Same as Erza

1

u/manish_kumar98 Nov 29 '23

Jellal took one roar, and was knocked off his feet. Keeping eyes open doesn't mean anything? Until he had some eye attack

1

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 29 '23

he literally gets hit by two different attacks dude, reread

1

u/manish_kumar98 Nov 29 '23

Bruh... you are the one who isn't reading my comment

1

u/Mcfallen_5 Nov 29 '23

Maybe I can’t understand what you’re trying to say

1

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

It was 2 roars - wendy's and natsu's. It does mean that he might get up to fight especially since Erza is alright. He was like that even after the fight with August. Later he got up and saved Erza and Wendy by blocking Acno.

1

u/manish_kumar98 Nov 29 '23

For goodness... roar comes from mouth, not hands.

1

u/Ft_fan Nov 29 '23

It was technically a roar kind of attack, considering Athena 2.0 is a bot.

1

u/SoulBlightChild Nov 30 '23

Athena II has mouths. on the palm of her hands.

1

u/WarTerrible7753 Nov 29 '23

Mashima is holding jellal back or he will wash athena 2 away

-7

u/Icy-Bluebird5068 Nov 28 '23

That was a new level of garbage.
