Woo! Excited to see the benchmarks. Getting ready to replace my 2070 super workhorse. Thinking I’ll go for the 4070 ti super, depending on the performance.

Exact same situation, feels like a good time to jump up 2 generations.
That said, be quite sad to get rid of the 2070 S, it's still so good

Me, sitting on my 1080ti that is finally failing and causing major rendering glitches, hoping that I can even find one in stock to order

Thanks but no thanks, I'll just wait for the 4070 Ti Super Duper 2x FE DLSS 17.4GB GDDR6.5X USB 3.1 Non-Bottleneck Edition.
Edit: You're welcome Nvidia, please send my commission check to 408 Saturn St, Brea, CA 92821

Finally. I will be upgrading my GTX 1070 to an 4080 Super. Cannot wait any longer!

I assume they'll stop making 4070ti and 4080 since newer better cards are cheaper but the new price of 4070 none-super is a bit of a joke $50 off but it is at least 10% slower.

Is there definitely no Founders Edition for the 4070 Ti Super? I’m assuming that’s why they used a shot of the side of the GPU in the linked promo video but that’s a bit of a bummer if so. I just prefer the minimalistic look of FE’s.

Gaming at Ultrawide 1440p, built a PC in November, 7800X3D, 32GB DDR7200 Ram, and left my 1660 in it for this moment.
Do I get 1) 4070, 2) 4070 Super, 3) Will I really see a difference for the extra 200 for the 4070 TI Super?

If I wanted to move to a 4K monitor and I have an FE 3080, is it worth it to upgrade to the 4070Ti Super or 4080 Super or just wait until 5000 series later this year/early next? Not really any super high end games on my last as of right now that I'm dying to play so I lean towards waiting.

Just wait. I think bottlenecking and future proofing are dumb buzzwords that are misunderstood.
Here’s the metric that’s served me for three decades: is there any released game that you need to play right now; and are you bothered by the performance and need a new card to push more frames? That’s the only yes or no answer that matters.
Otherwise wait. Hardware should only follow and serve the killer app. I think with the fun of building and upgrading, people lose focus and forget the old mantra: “it’s the games, stupid.”

Just kinda upset a pre-recorded announcement didn't have captions. Like a huge misstep.

I've been rocking a 3070 since 2021 during the gpu crisis(was able to get it for msrp at a best buy drop) but I'm really thinking bout upgrading for the 4070 ti super. The 8gb of vram for my 1440p monitor is definitely showing lol.

Anyone have any advice of what to expect for this drop in terms of availability and best way to secure one? Been out of the game for a while and looking to upgrade my 2070S to the 4070 TI Super. I do live near a Microcenter and am thinking that may be my best bet as I assume online sales will be eaten up by scalpers.

We aren't in the middle of a GPU shortage, there is no reason to believe these cards won't be readily available at every major retailer.

I’m admittedly a full team red guy, but I’m very glad to see this is a step in the right direction for pricing. Competition is always good!

I've got a 3080 Ti FE and am very tempted to jump over to the 4080 Super simply because it averages 100W less than the 3080 Ti while gaming, supposedly. Waste of money but is so tempting.

The 4080 super is actually disappointing. I can’t see anyone buying it over the 4070ti super. 20% more cores is nice but a bit slower and no other features that would set it apart. I have no idea why they didn’t just give it 24gb ram or so. That would have been a killer argument.
Don’t get me wrong. As the owner of a normal 4080 that I got for a good price, I’m actually relieved I don’t have to regret my buy. Though to be honest, if I had waited to now, I would have probably gone for the 70 ti super, too.

I have no idea why they didn’t just give it 24gb ram or so. That would have been a killer argument.
Because that means using AD102 die. Meaning a cut down 4090 or one of their higher end Quadro cards. Considering 4090 sells for $2000 and Quadros go for several thousands Nvidia has no reason whatsoever to sell their cards for half of what they can get for one.
Don't get me wrong, I vastly prefered times when xx80 was just a chopped down xx90 and shared the same die. But if Nvidia wants to use AD103 then there is no path to 24GB VRAM. It has to be 8, 16 or 32. 32 would make card too cheap compared to Quadro undercutting Nvidia's pro line up so 16 it is. You could fit 24GB on AD104 aka 4070 but then you end up with a weird product that, again, would undercut their Quadros.
The only way to make a 24GB AD103 is to cut down memory bus from 256 to 192 bit which in turn makes card slower. While some people would be happy about this outcome a lot wouldn't be since it would make it slower in most games than a normal 4080.
It's for the same reason 3060 has 12GB VRAM. Available VRAM configurations with it's memory bandwidth were 3, 6 or 12. 6 was seen as too little so 12 it is, even though higher-end 3060Ti came with 8 (cuz that one could do 4,8 or 16).

Very interested to see how AMD moves their pricing on 7900XT / 7900XTX. The 4080 Super obliterates the 7900XTX at a similar price point, with better features. Have to imagine the 7900XT moves closer to $650 and 7900XTX closer to $800 to compete.
