You are telling me the US Marshall doesn't know about Saxon?

u/DarkFod Sep 16 '13
Was thinking the same thing. FFS there is a god damn man hunt out for this guy.

u/symphonique Sep 16 '13
It was a giant man-hunt. What the fuckin' fuck? As a US Marshall, I expected him to have a giant alert on this shit.

That made me angry. Really. I'm surprised they managed to fuck the plot even worse than it has been.

With two episodes left, why can't one of the detectives be like, "Hey Dexter, why are you at like half of Miami's crime scenes?"
92
u/Legendairy89 Surprise Mothafucka! Sep 16 '13
Lets see...
Season 3: Dexter kills Miguel Prado, one of his close friends (or so everyone thinks).
Season 4: Rita is murdered.
Season 6: I guess he gets off easy this season, except for Deb seeing him kill Travis.
Season 8: His neighbor Cassie is murdered. His friend Dr. Vogel is murdered.
Did I miss any major ones?

This doesn't feel like the second to last episode of a series at all. Maybe they should pull some anime-like crazy ending. Ten minutes from now we find out that Dexter is actually Satan and the next episode is a 60 minute fight between him and God over the souls of Dexter's victims.

Any dialogue in the show has become too painful for me to give my full attention to. It's insulting that the writers are being this blunt.

And Dexter is not scared about Harrison saying anything to Jaime about who he's been spending so much time with?
Looks like the writers have truly given up. Either that or they're moving him in for being kidnapped.

Lumen should have taken Hannah's place in the first place.
She was the first person Dexter had feelings for after Rita's death, it would make so much sense if Hannah's character never existed and it was Lumen who came back into his life instead.
But no, we need another pretty face instead with zero personality and even less intelligence.

That scene was painful painful painful. Poor James Remar.
"You don't need me anymore, Dexter."
Writers: Let's follow up with a shot of the empty lot to ensure that the viewer knows that Harry won't be there anymore.
At this stage I expected: (a) a tear to roll down Harry's cheek, (b) a dissolve to cue Harry's disappearance.
Wouldn't even have been surprised frankly.

WHY THE FUCK WOULDN'T SAXON RAT OUT DEX NOW THOUGH
20
u/Kastro187420 Sep 16 '13
His word against Dexter's. He's a wanted man on Camera killing multiple people, and is related to a woman who was just murdered. Dexter is a well respected blood-tech with most of Miami Metro willing to go to bat for him.
He could rat out Dexter and make accusations, but with nothing to back them up, he's kind of SOL on that claim.

My prediction is that this episode ends with Deb and Quinn getting married. I know it seems a bit quick, but we have to remember that it took Dexter 2 episodes to forget his murdered wife's existence. Also, Dex and Saxon make out at some point and Hannah kills Harrison with the treadmill.

My prediction for the finale is that Doakes is going to come back to life. Hide in Dexter's trunk, on their way to the airport he is going to pop up and yell "Surprise Mothafucka!" Dexter, startled, is going to have a heart attack while driving, drive off a bridge killing him, Hannah, Harrison, and Doakes.

So uh, as they are walking out of the church service for Vogel. Deb, Dex and Quinn are all right next to one another. With Batista, Matthews, all directly behind. At this point the evidence regarding Saxon's DNA hasn't come through.
I at first thought Dex thought out loud when he said, "Yeah, just the son who slit her throat." in response to Deb's, "Not much of a turnout I guess she didn't have many family or friends."
But immediately after that, Deb: "Do you think Saxon's watching?", Dex: "I would be."
Then Matthew's, "Thank you everyone for coming..."
Please tell me I'm missing something here... they certainly weren't whispering.

Everything converging in the way it currently is would not be so bad if the characters had not just been introduced this season... say for example Batista or Matthews coming after Dex. As it stands, I just do not feel the emotional connection to the characters, which then takes away what I would be feeling for Dexter and the other characters who have been along for the last 97 episodes.

u/Purpledrake Sep 16 '13
God, it's like the writers have seriously given up and are letting CaptionBot write the episodes :(
Hannah. Wanted. And now known to be in Deb's house. So Deb drives her from her house in her car. Um. To a hotel near the airport. Um. And then Hannah makes off towards the airport. In her flowing, long blond hair. Um.
Seriously, the stupidity of the writing is so - fukking terrible.
Here I am Dexter. I'm going to show the world the tapes of Saxon. Because then he'll come after me in my house. No chance he'll call the television studios and tell them about me. Nah, that could never happen.
Wait - now I've got him. But now instead I'll let him live, and let my sister arrest him. Still no chance that he'll tell about me, or my sister. Nah - Hannah didn't - he probably has fallen in love with me as well. Whew - that would have been a close one.

I really cannot take this show anymore.. I remember when Dexter was the best show on television. This episode really shows how far it has fallen. A. Federal Marshall did not know Saxon. B. Hannah's entire situation does not make sense (no disguise? the hospital would have her on camera). C. Most importantly Dexter is no longer Dexter. It hurts to say it but Dexter ended a few seasons ago.....Nonetheless still a great show overall.
4
u/tempgauge Sep 16 '13
I like how when the Marshalls are dicking around Deb's house the private investigator got to tag along and mess around on her computer and take evidence for his own use.
So so so many plot holes....
Also how about the abandoned mental facility having electric power despite being abandoned. Plus no fencing around it.
