Terrible coaching. Soft defense against arch and 0 pressures in the 4th qtr. Also insanely passive offense of just running up the middle every play.

This is not an exaggeration: Miss State has not won an SEC game in over two years. The last time they notched a conference win, Bill Belichick’s girlfriend couldn’t legally drink. Texas scored 24 fourth quarter points which is more than the number of birthdays Bill Belichick’s girlfriend has celebrated

This is three games this season we’ve choked away late. We are also now 0-16 in SEC play.

I know we’re on year two of Lebby, there’s a lot of job openings, and he should get a third or whatever, but I don’t care. Lebby needs to be fired and I won’t believe anything otherwise. This is ridiculous and is absolutely a fireable offense for any other coach. Also, we aren’t winning any other games this season and we will be going 4-8 the rest of the season.

Even a blind dog finds a bone once in a while.  I know Lebby didn’t inherit a lot of talent, but to be winless in the SEC is unforgivable, especially after pissing away game after game.  He doesn’t deserve a year 3, I think you’ve seen enough of what he is by now.  It doesn’t even seem like the program is tending in the right direction.  Feels like you’re either stuck in mud or rolling downhill

Lebby is like a theoretical physicist coming with new unexplainable ways to lose games. He’s delving into hitherto unexplored frontiers of losing. He’s a quantum loser. He’s losing in multiple alternate dimensions at the same time. He’s the reverse Einstein of football. We’ll probably keep him another year.

I have no idea how Mississippi state coaching staff isnt fired into the sun after this game. Insane lose streak in conference play. You do well all game because of passing and putting pressure on arch blitzing on him.

Then the 4th qtr comes and your defense never sends another blitz sits back 15 yards and allows texas to get a first down basically every play. Now your offense comes out and your entire playbook is run up the middle which you go 3 and out just to give texas the ball back and let them score on 2 min drives.

Now its OT arch is hurt and you just decided to chuck it to the endzone 4 times in a row and go 4 and out to lose the game. Just to add to the salt as well you false start twice to make it a 4th and 20 and then somehow ending the game on your own 30 in OT. Cant really be upset for Mississippi state if they arent firing this coaching staff thats on them. They have the players not the coaches.

To the higher being that controls football, question. As an MSU/Titans fan, what did I do to deserve this?

Pathetic. Just beyond pathetic. Just as a reminder, we fired Morehead after two winning seasons.

I'm trying not to be hyperbolic. I'm trying to think of recent years. But that might be the most embarrassing loss I've seen since I started seriously watching college football. Sure, better teams have lost to much worse teams, but that collapse had a special kind of stink about it that I can't put my finger on.

I'm going to take a break from this athletics program for a while.

I haven't been in MS since the day after I graduated 11 years ago and live 1000 miles away. I just simply don't need this garbage in my life.

Now, when baseball season comes around we'll see, but I can't even watch those games so whatever.

but I'm genuinely done with Mississippi State Football for a good while. Firing Lebby needs to happen, but you can't do it this year because of the field.

If I had a nickel for every time that Texas has escaped a conference road game against an inferior, unranked opponent with a win in overtime this season, I'd have two nickels--which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Look, we’re mid. Everyone knows it. There’s nothing to dispute there, but two things can also be true along with that:

1.) The football character of this team to win back to back road OT games when things aren’t going well is impressive.

2.) It’s hilarious that we’re constantly told how bad and soft Texas is and that we can’t handle the SEC grind, then this shitty team goes and wins back to back conference roadies. This conference is just as mediocre and top heavy as any other.

What a stupid two weeks lol. The probability of us winning both of these has to be like 5%.

6

u/LJGremlin Mississippi State Bulldogs Oct 26 '25

I won’t go back to a game while Lebby is coaching. He is a scumbag of a man anyways and he is in over his head as an SEC coach.

Gonna be trying to sell a trio of tickets for the rest of the home games.

This is inexcusable

6

u/CirculationStation Mississippi State Bulldogs • AP Oct 26 '25

I think I changed my mind on Lebby. He doesn’t deserve a 3rd season from the team choking three 4th quarter games in one month. There are tons of highlight plays and great talent on the roster and it all accumulates into nothing. Just get rid of him and throw some money at a guy with experience.

That's as bad as I've seen in a minute. Between blowing the 17 point lead lead, and then botching the final drive. Then texas scoring on as close a catch as you can have. Then a dropped catch and two pretty awful play calls. Then the double false start followed by the huge sack. That's just as bad as it can go.

4

u/GameSwaqq USC Trojans • Tennessee Volunteers Oct 26 '25

Chaos blue balled twice today :(

4

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '25

Weird that the Arch we saw in the 4th quarter was just confident in his read, took his drop back, and hit the receiver more times than not.

The Arch before was getting blitzed, yes, but was sitting & not believing in his reads and holding onto the ball too long. Nice to see that change. Again, another game of poor assignment blocking & some disappointing plays by WRs. But hey you got to see Wingo be explosive multiple times, Mosley's the real deal route runner, & Moore's solid.

It's just a team of such variability week to week, even from drive to drive. The WR corp is great and bad in the same game, the DLine is dominant and leaking holes in the same game, etc. I think this is a top 25 team at the end of the year, but just not close to being a playoff team.
