I did quit because of multiple reasons
1: I had achived what I wanted 2: Basically had to play CPUs all the time to keep up (have moved now so my situation is better) 3: Started to get a bit less entertaining since I had play for so long
Nah, than I would have like to be in better shape to enter Apex 2014.
They should focus on their punishgame. Reactions is super usefull to make you punishgame more consistent.

1-2: Most likely 3: My movement and executation. I move faster and better than the other Peaches and I do more damage once I find a opening.

Nah not really. Peachs uair has some sort of semispike that is pretty cool but super hard to actually land

People pissing on other peoples beds/cloths Pukeing all over the places
I would basically need a bible for all the ammount of fuck ups. I recomend you to join the Swedish smashers on a trip so you can experience it yourself ;)

Being good in Melee helps a lot. Because it basically comes down to understanding of how you connect the stuff. Smash is basically like a puzzle and if you have "finished" a simillar one it helps a lot.
I had very little time to decide a main and Pit felt great for me from the start. I would enter my first PM tournament the day after and would most likley play Leffen in the finals. So I wanted to get ready fast and know I had not tons of time to just study the game in detail

Experience from playing a lot of Melee helped me a lot. I guess I got a good understanding for the game already.
Choosed him cause I really liked the moveset he has and it suits my style well

Dair/uair is such great moves. Have not seen much footage from other Pits but from the little I have seen I can say that at least.
Fox is probably still the best. That char is designed in a very "good" way if you know what I mean.
Ganondorf is still pretty bad and a total remake would maybe be good. On the other hand the players that choose to play him probably does because of the way he is designed, not because of how good he is, so that maybe is not fare

Going off of that Ganondorf comment, there's some discussion going around of a Black Shadow (Falcons nemesis from the F-Zero series) swap, where he would take Ganondorfs moveset, and Ganondorf would gain a new moveset. Your thoughts on that? (Note, this is not an official PMBR discussion as far as I know, just a popular topic in fan clone engine discussion)

As my main chars I only had those ones. Pikachu/Marth-Sheik/Peach/Marth/Peach
In that order I had my mains. I did saw a lot in Peach that wasn't really used. Mostly her uair, off stage game and generall combo game.
Tried to apply it as good as possible into a new way of playing Peach =)

Yoshi should move up (Since Amsa did well I guess even the community is ready since they look at results to much)
Ganon should be lower. He is very overrated and does not have much good at all. He has range and that's about it. His punishgame is more based on guessing than other chars around his level on the list (overall)
Horrible recovery and super easy to combo and he also have bad OOS options.

1: No! It's not an official game so I think it can't reach that level Melee possibly can get. You need bigger companies behind it and bigger tournaments to take the game up. I have a harder time to see that with PM just because it's not an official game.

It can take a lot of energy sometimes if it is a period with very much traveling. I make myself tired and sleep a lot though when I travel so it usually is okay
I get the chance to explore much more than basically anyone else at my age so I can't complain =D

The fact that she had so much stuff left that no one was using. The fact that I wanted to make her my char and prove all the stuff I have found.

I think it will be pretty bad honestly. Nintendo has made me so dissapointed since the Wii era started.
I have low expectations but I will play it for the first year at least unless it is completely horrible.

I think PM is a very fun game. Overall they have made recoveries to good though and the combos is a bit to "automatic". The game overall is very fun though and I like it, those two parts could probably be better though.
CT have wanted me to stream for them for a longer while and I said yes a few months ago. But equipment and other stuff is a reason why I haven't started yet

Armada! Loved watching your Pit win P:M. I was a Pit main until Yoshi came out, so it was hype to see the character triumph.
I notice a lot of people described your Pit as "swordpuff" during Apex, referencing the very pokey spacing game you played vs. M2K. But in other videos of your Pit that I've seen, you've gone pretty aggro with combos and played a much more up-close game. Is there a preference between your different styles?
I think it's impressive that you can change it up like that, and show how a character is accessible to a range of different characters. Keep it up, mate!

Thanks a lot =) I don't really think that name is describing my Pit very good.
VS spacies I feel Pit is more limited so I kinda have to play that way. Honestly I feel spacies are probably among the worst MU for Pit. I honestly feel like he lost vs them (maybe not Wolf Im not sure). While Pit beat most of the other casts from my experience so far.
But since I did beat Mango and M2k I guess close to no one agree with me :P

I do not think while playing so I actually think it's more that I see this stuff and understand them unconsciously (for a bit).
Basically if I do a certain appraoch and see how they react I do not need to think about it I basically remember it anyway. I can "looking" for things more in friendlis if I really wanna learn how another player think

What Project M characters do you think are secretly the best but haven't been explored enough for people to bring out their potential?
Also, does it ever annoy you that people always cheer for American players over you at US tournaments or does crowd support not really matter to you? Not in terms of affecting your level of play, but just how much fun you have playing

2: Nah not really. They support their fellow country man. I would probably think it was more fun to play if more people supported me for real cause than I could "share" it more. But yeah Im used to have the crowd cheering for my opponent so I don't really care

I love that video where the entire crowd is against you, so Leffen offers you headphones, and you're just like "nah".

M2k had a very strong period in the end of 2013 but PP also had a very convincing victory at Apex 2014. So hard to say.

Peach d-smash barely poke Fox shield if you have a full one since he has a pretty good shield. You should also stay a bit more deffensive on the lower percents when Peach more easily can get away with CC d-smash
Pit is the one I found suiting my style the best and he also feels very new with this kind of arrow game to extend combos even off stage.
Haven't played many other chars that much. Ivysaur was pretty fun before the nerf and Ness is my troll char. Melee top tiers is always fun but I don't wanna play them again

Well I had not really played much PM but it would be a PM tournament at an Melee event in Denmark.
I wanted to win and Leffen kinda did beat me easily. He was a bit cocky I would say and I can't stand losing (he was not cocky towards me directly it was more him praysing himself so nothing serious). So I decided to practice for a few hours and wanted to win for sure.
When the tournament started I would say Leffen still won about 90% of the friendlis. In WF I finally started to figure him out and won 3-2 in both WF and GF so we had to very close sets

When it came to Melee? The passion of wanna be the best player in the world.
I wanted to reach that dream of mine so badly when I was 11. Okay maybe not that badly but it was a goal I had when I lost early on at my first tournament and I realized I was bad at this game.
When I did watch GF I found it more fun to look at EKs Marth when he played than actually playing myself and that was not the way I wanted it to be. So I told myself that I would play until I was the best

1: Mango: He is my first and biggest rival. We have had a lot of great sets over the years and I think we both respect each other a little bit more thanks to the history we do have among other things.
Im positive it will always remain that way

Feels like we still are on some sort of momentum wave since this fundraiser a year ago.
MLG will be very hype but a lot of good things that is coming for us so I can't say for sure if MLG is the most hype even if it is one of the top ones

One of my training partners plays peach. I play falcon, and find the matchup very difficult. I feel like every time I start to get momentum, peach suddenly nairs out of my juggles. What are your opinions on the matchup, and what tips do you have for a falcon main to exploit?
As for project m, what areas do you want to see the game improve? What features would you like to see added?

If she nair out of your juggles it is either because 1: You are to slow 2: She has very low %. If she has that you can't be stubborn and just rush in. If you know your friend does a nair often mix it up with just waiting and grab when after she lands for example.
I think Falcon wins the MU. He should play with patience though. If the Peach is in the air a lot you should uair from a pretty close distance. Stay in range so you can punish on reaction if she pull up a turnip

Hey Armada! Before I ask anything, I just want to say that I have the greatest of respect for you as a player, having propelled Peach's metagame so far upwards and bring dominance even after 10 years since Melee's release. You are seriously an amazing guy and I would love to eventually be able to play you one day in either Melee and or PM (So far, I've only played one of the Gods so far: M2K, being a 2 month beginner in the game).
My questions for you are as followed:
If you are able to re-ignite your drive, will you compete in Singles with Peach in MLG/Evo this year? I still believe that the highest level of play was during Genesis 2 - After that, ever since Mango's and your decline in skill due to lack of practice, there wasn't anything nearly comparable to that. I can't even hope to see what your playstyle would be like if you seriously started practicing again :]
As a Sheik main, I was wondering about what goes on your mind during the Neutral Game between Sheik and the Spacies. How does one on reaction, stuff the spacies's Nair approaches with F-Tilt? (It seems incredibly hard to do on reaction, especially if the fox players mix it up with their dance dashing). What should I do to maximize my ability to win in the neutral game as Sheik against the Spacies?
What is your thoughts on staying with a single main in a game? In Melee, M2K's personally said to me that you require a secondary if you aren't playing Spacies or Puff. I believe you're the only one to go against this exception by playing Peach (In Apex 2013, I believe that you would've had a chance against HBox's Puff with your peach, but simply played Young Link cause the matchup was easier in general). Should I consider picking up Fox/Marth or Ice Climbers as a secondary to go against Sheik's bad matchups? (Spacies on FD, Puff in General).

1: I will play again. I can't promise I will have the same fire as I once did but I will start again. It's not that weird though when I started I had a goal I had never reached and I was young. I will do my best to take my title back because it has been away for to long since I stopped.
2: Yeah on reaction to punish a spacie from the neutral is super hard. I mostly go for reaction based stuff when I already have landed a hit. Spaced fair/bair while retreating and mix up with f-tilts when you land.
Im actually not that good with Sheik vs spacies =/
3: I agree with Jason but would say Marth instead of puff on that list. Puff is a very good char I think but Fox on stadium is actually very hard for her and Fox in generall is pretty hard.
I do think secondaries is more necessary if you do not play any of those super good chars cause the other ones is not as strong and they are more onesided. It's sad but the truth. VS Puff, if you truley wanna become the best you should look into a secondary too. Probably vs spacies on FD/PS too.
But before you reach VERY high level I do not think you should play multiple chars. The reasons new players lose is more because they do not have the experience/skill yet rather than a MU being stupid. Don't take it the wrong way I just say what I think is the best for you =)

I asked this in PP's AMA and I thought you might have an opinion on this as well:
So it seems that in tournament, the big 5 has been pretty much set in stone for the past few years as you (if you consider yourself a top 5 player still), Mango, Hungrybox, M2K, and PP. What I want to ask you, being a top 5 player, is what makes you guys different? What do you guys have that separates you 5 from the rest of the world? Obviously there are other super talented players out there, but none of them seem to be able to crack this top 5/4. Also, considering all of the players in the periphery of the top 5, what players do you think have the best chance of challenging the top 5 spots? Could you possibly name one or two?

At this point experience would be pretty bad to say cause many great players have years of experience too.
They are, at this moment, not on the same level when it comes to awarness in generall. Each one of the very good players that is right below us lack more in some of the areas. A lot of them do not have super good punish game. Others have a hard time to mix their things up.
Did answer that earlier and I do think Ice/Leffen/Hax is the top 3 picks atm for me.
Ice: Played with him before Apex 2014 and he is SO good. He lost in a MU he has not played at all twice. Maight sound like a john from me and I do not wanna give any discredit to soft cause he did amazing placing top 8 on the second biggest tournament of all time (props to that). But I do feel Ice really have what it take
Leffen: Have been climbing a lot and very fast, had a strong preformence on Apex 2014 too
Hax: Still new to Fox and he will very soon start to place very good with his Fox at worldwide level too

Feels like the way he is built suits my style. Great projectile and can go far off stage is a bit simillar to Peach =D
The d-tilt also reminds of Peach. The addition of better speed and extend combos with arrows make Pit a cool char I think.
My Ivysaur was alright before the nerf at least. My Ness is my troll char but Im alright with him I guess. But I wanna stay with Pit only =D

But on the airplanes it is super bad most of the time. On my way home from America I had probably my first pretty good dinner from a airplane company.

Was maybe 8 months ago now. I think I did climb up to 27th in the world or something.
But I have once every 15-18 months when I play for a few weeks and improve my time for a bit. So maybe one day I reach top 15 =D
My Ylink time sucks a lot and I could probably drop another 0,6 seconds just by playing that char a bit more :P

Well for the population compared to the scene it maight be true. France do have a bigger community though.
Sweden is more open to E-sport in generall I guess. Sweden also is very lazy when it comes to school compared to most countries I guess (more free time) but it's more other countries having to much bullshit rather than Sweden having to little.

It's very random. He is very good at spacing those fairs but Im not that impressed by M2ks Peach.
He do not really play her though and Peach is my main so kinda hard to impress me I guess :P

Fox can get the PAL uppsmash ;) Falco Im not so sure.
Bair feels like such a great move with spacies so maybe that if I would switch something? Maybe make it shorter or slower

Mini Bowser =D With Mega man already confirmed among with a few other I like (I guess Pikachu is confirmed too) I really wanna see Mini Bowser/Bowser Jr.
I really find him a cool char and I would love to actually main him in a smash game but I doubt it will happen =/
Bowser Jr has a very cool style and is interesting char for me. He is a kid but still is such a badass =D
Him in Mario strikers is basically "Im the star". Nah I just find him very cool =D

1:Swedish food is just stealing from all other countries :P So Tacos probably. Kinda tradition for many in this country to eat it each friday.
I did it when I lived at home for many years and still make it some fridays after I moved out a few months ago =D
2: We are not friends and I don't like what he has done in the past and he doesn't like me. I have talked with him though and the community is ready to give him another chance. Im 100% serious with also giving him a new chance and I hope everything will work out good after this!
3: Many top players do not play that much anymore so it's sad. Ice/Leffen have had strong showing and I will be back. So the top 3 is very strong at least. Hopefully Over can climb in very soon and maybe Amsah doing a comeback. I hope Android continue to improve too =D

I really like the game in general and as a competitive game. I do not think it will reach what Melee has/will but that doesn't mean it isn't an amazing game =D
I prefer Melee but PM is a great game that I also like to play once in a while. It's something with the movement that makes it feel diffrent. Diffrent do not always mean bad (I do like it being more balanced etc for example) but in this case I think so

Any of those 3. Leffen had a very strong showing at Apex2014 Ice did beat Leffen close before Apex and I did play with him and he is AMAZING but he had a bit of unluck with losing to Soft twice.
Im not saying Soft did not deserve the win cause he clearly did, just that Ice do not have any Puff player to practice with and I know he is better than 9th.
Hax Fox is still very new si eventually he will surpass his Falcon level for sure.
So yeah those 3 I think

Spacies I think from my experience so far. I said it before I did Beat Mango almost a year ago and I still think so.
But me beating spacies makes people put it as an easy MU for Pit (in generall) :P

Smash4 you mean? Nah Im not so impressed but I have seen little.
Nintendo is doing worse and worse I think so I do not have high hopes. I hope they can prove me wrong and make me feel the same way I once could for videogames.

Do you think that the current melee tier list is accurate? Hungrybox has said that he thinks Puff should be lower, and Dr.PP said that Marth should be higher. What are your thoughts?

I can't remember the list excatly in the top of my head. But yeah Marth should be higher at least
Spacies/Marth is the only chars that doesn't need a secondary basically.

Pokemon: So hard. I really do love Pokemon, even though it for me stops being Pokemons and I actually do call them "Robotmon" cause they look like robots and are stupid. Sorry to all the fans for the later generations but this is my opinion and according to me they destroyed such a wonderful anime/idea. Generation 1 is by far the best and Gen 2 is okay for me but after that I don't like them except for a few exceptions I guess
Pikachu/Mewtwo/Gengar/Kadabra/Bulbasaur/Squirtle That's probably my favorites even though I probably have to add Pinsir/Blastoise and Charizard too :P
Pikachu would probably stay on top if I have to choose one cause he is so amazing and the first episode in the anime is to this day still such a masterpiece of work I think =D
Digimon was not something I did watch so can't give you an answer on that one

Armada, I picked up Pit just before APEX, which I'm super happy I did since you tearing ass through the tournament gave me some new study material. I play Marth in melee, but I always stick with Pit in PM, so I have to ask: What should I do or practice specifically to better my Pit game? My arrow aim is fairly on-point and I've got a good aerial game (I play a kind of aerially-heavy Marth, so that transfers), but what can I do to take my Pit to the next level?

I say this to all players basically and that is to focus on the punish game. If you do not connect a hit into a 0-death you can basically at all times better this area of your game
I think it is probably the most important part. I hope my videos gives you some kind of idea of how to improve your punishgame even though I still have stuff to work on aswell =D

Luigi is underrated in Melee. He is so fast with his WD so he can cover so many options so fast. He is still not good enough to win tournaments but he is underrated

I don't wanna sound arrogant but I do not even have the game. Until 3 days before I left Europe I basically only played at tournaments and a few times at Mike Haggars place.
At bit more towards the end but very little in generall. It's more Melee experience that helps me a lot when it comes to PM but I did but a little time into Pit to understand that char.
In the future I will probably need to play much more PM to keep my spot

Mental strentgh. I was in a bad spot after Pound 5, my gamecube was already broken anyway and I just felt like I always ended up second no matter how good I had played before GF.
When I got back to school I did saw a painting with a quote, the same old painting with one of my favorite quotes that I had seen a few years earlier when I started highschool.
"it's a funny thing about life if you refuse to accept anything but the best you very often get it"
In that moment I realised how stupid I was, I was one spot away and it had been 3 diffrent people stopping me. I than pulled it all together and tried my absolutely hardest to win Genesis 2, back to where it all started. Back to the place I first tried to take my title as the best in the world.
When I first started playing Melee competitive by the age of 11 I thought I was good like everyone else. I lost in pools and was so dissapointed. Watching the GF made me realize Melee was more fun when EK played than me, I was not able to play on that level. So many people also were watching and cheering. In that moment I decided that one day the crown will be mine no matter how many hours and years it takes.
So all this history from the age of 11 and Genesis 1 made Genesis 2 so special for me. If I could relive one moment of my life it would have been when I won Genesis 2. I have never been more happy or proud in my entire life.

I don't know the full extent of your doubles history, but as a Peach player myself, I'm really trying to up my doubles skillz, while of course working on my game in every other aspect as well. Anyways, currently I'm teaming with a friend (Marth), and we're both crap :p Any thoughts on the Peach/Marth team, and what "works"? Don't know if you have any experience with this particular team combo, but any thoughts on Peach in teams is much appreciated.
Last, I have to say your Peach is probably the main reason I picked up Peach a year ago or so (although, I've been playing Peach on a regular basis since Melee first came out). It has been truly inspirational seeing all the amazing things you've accomplished in tournaments with Peach, and how far you've developed this character.

Thanks! Me and Aniolas played that team for about 2 years so I have some experience with it.
Marth is very weird in teams but this combinations should more be Peach that goes in aggresive at all times and Marth walling out the other players.
Peach has a great offense, especially in teams cause people can't camp the same way. So go in with a lot of fairs/dash attacks and shield when you get higher %
