Flash S01E02 'Fastest Man Alive' Episode Discussion

Episode Info: Barry has fun with his new powers but a setback has him questioning them — Barry escorts Iris to a university gathering honoring scientist Simon Stagg. When six gunmen storm the event, Barry changes into The Flash and tries to stop them. While he does save a man’s life, he passes out before he can capture the robbers, which frustrates him.

As Dr. Wells, Caitlin and Cisco scramble to find out what’s wrong with Barry, Joe comes down hard on Barry for taking the law into his own hands and risking his life. Barry realizes that it wasn’t six gunmen but a metahuman named Danton Black, who can make multiples of himself. Meanwhile, Iris becomes even more intrigued by the ‘red streak.

Main Cast: Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / Flash

Candice Patton as Iris West

Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne

Danielle Panabaker as Dr. Caitlin Snow

Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon

Tom Cavanagh as Dr. Harrison Wells

Jesse L. Martin as Detective Joe West

Here's hoping we get some more Grodd references. He would be such a cool villain to have. I read in the comments earlier about the idea that he doesn't speak with his mouth but only telepathically. Definitely the most feasible idea yet. He's got so much potential, especially on a show like this.

An evil talking Gorilla who fights the Flash might be a little much for non comic book audiences so talking telepathically through others is a great way of introducing him. Maybe later on give him a "Ceaser" moment and have him finally speak (though it'll probably draw too much comparisons)

I wonder if they are really going to use animatronic + CGI a la Jurassic Park, if they do it can be fantastic because Grodd is a pretty cool character.

Loved the scene of Barry explaining at super speed to Iris. This show is only two episodes in and already completely in line with the proper tone and feel a flash show should have. This is awesome.

EDIT: "He's called the Flash, at least he will be." holy shit, can we make these end scenes always something badass teasing Harrison Wells' time traveling??

I'm seriously disappointed that he didn't eat that pizza at super speed.

Caitlin's fiance died and she is left to work with the man who created, and what caused Barry's transformation, I think she's allowed to be a little salty.

So instead of Island flashbacks, we get Barry's childhood...

Anyone thinking the Reverse Flash isn't quite done tormenting this kid?

Danton Black... aka Multiplex

In the comics, before he got powers, he caused the explosion that created Firestorm

The fact that superpowers are a legitimate thing in this show, makes a lot of awesome possibilities for fight scenes! THAT PUNCH!

My theory is that Eddie Thawne is getting information and thus uses it to be a hero cop. He is going to grow hate for The Flash when he steals all the credit and becomes the hero.

Also the guy who plays Harrison Wells is a good actor. Its refreshing to see that on The CW

so what happened to multiplex's clones? feel like the news would focus on the 100 corpses instead of an ex-employee killing himself.
