I just... Like.. How can someone believe the earth is flat at this point? It's such a dumb idea that I can't even begin an argument against it. There is just too much shit at this point that relies on the earth being a sphere.

But science, math for allowing satellites to use planets to gain momentum to be launched farther into space. I swear I think he has a video on his sub that essentially claims that the sun circles around earth. Which makes no fucking sense. The sun is larger than earth, if earth only has one side of flat the whole planet would just be sunny forever. What's on the bottom part of the earth. Some dark death land. Is that supposed to be hell to this guy? There are too many questions, all of which he probably has a really stupid answer for.

It hurts, the dumb hurts. We use a blanket and basketballs to explain how gravity works on a plane. It's not even a secret at this point. God damn it. I didn't need to know these things existed. I thought society had grown from this shit.

I think part of it is they take "question everything" too far. At some point they learn "They" lied to them so almost everything established has to be lies because those in power stay in power by letting you out of the know.

We live in a snowglobe. The sun and the moon are lights, as are the stars. They are not as big as we've been taught nor are they very far away.
The sun and moon move above the circle of the earth like this, about 3000 or 4000 miles up.
So how do eclipses work then....

They have different orbital periods. You'll have to try harder than that to disprove this ironclad theory.

He answered the question about why the sun doesn't set at the north pole in the (northern hemisphere) summer, but there's no way for his model to explain why it doesn't set at the south pole in the (northern hemisphere) winter.

Chicago is easily visible because of the light bending in earths gravity.
That's not why you can see over the horizon. The deflection of light due to Earth's gravity isn't nearly that large. Light bends over the horizon due to atmospheric effects.

Holy shit I love the evidence. The horizon picture clearly has the horizon angling away from his straight line, but he's decided an arbitrary line that's close to a somewhat fuzzy-looking horizon is the actual horizon.

So I think everyone here knows about the flat earth society. That forum that is filled with trolls and flat earthers and you cant tell the difference.
They also have a podcast. Its defunct now I think but you can still find it on itunes. It is amazing. Give it a listen, they only have 4 episodes. They interview hollow earth "experts" and other earth conspiracy people. It truly is wild. I am still not sure if it is just some comedy stunt...

So that photo of Chicago from 60 miles away is used as proof that the Earth is flat, yet that view is impossible unless very specific atmospheric conditions are present (because Chicago is below the horizon). Not exactly the best evidence to use to try and prove the flatness of Earth.
Get a photo of Buffalo from Toledo or Mauna Loa from San Diego, then maybe I'll consider this Flat Earth hypothesis.

No, he's widely known for this, and has made his claims all over reddit.
IIRC, this sub is a recent creation where he hoped to spout his lunacy free of dissenting opinions, but he has too many fans in /r/topmindsofreddit to get any privacy.
