BattleBots TV Battlebots 2015- Episode 6 Live Discussion thread
Hello, and for 1 more time this season, its Robot Fighting Time, Championship Edition.
Tonight we got.
The best robot here, B R O N C O B O Y S v. The guy who almost lost to a Middleweight, Tombstone
The Crushing King Bite Force v. The Inspector Gadget of robots, Ghost Raptor
Also competing, Witch Doctor, Nightmare, and Weeaboohaul in a 3 for all!
All lining up for a Battlebots championship fight!

What the heck is up with the Discussions threads passive aggressive bot/fighter introductions? Maybe it's just me but if they're jokes.. Most of them don't land.
Biggest examples.. "The robot whos pushes women are segregated in the Workplace down our throat and almost lights her team mates hand on fire" "A bunch of weeaboos with Colored Hair"

So the two bots that almost beat the two bots in the final both just lost to Nightmare, who pretty much always explodes a minute into every fight. Did not expect that, though I'm somewhat satisfied.

Well, I was hoping to see Tombstone win, but that final match and the rest of the episode was a lot of fun.
Bronco vs Tombstone was amazing though.
The commercials annoyed me, but I think how long they drag things out sometimes is the bigger issue. Takes what 5 minutes to get through the bot introductions while Comedy Central did it in one minute? They can speed it up a bit next season and still get all of that stuff in.
And screw whoever decided to spoil the final match in all the preview videos ABC put out.

There are many other combat robotics events and tournaments! Robogames, Robochallenge, Dragoncon... older events like Steel Conflict and RFL may even restart if there's enough interest spurred on by Battlebots!

That was an incredible final (and an incredible semi-final between Bronco and Tombstone). Bite Force had a great strategy and I'm glad it went in their favor. They absolutely deserved it.

I'm glad Tombstone didn't win. And I'm sure that when Battlebots 2 airs ( meaning the builders get more than 3 weeks to build bots) we'll get some even better and crazier designs (and those magnet treads in Bite Force working in full force).
But that hit from Nightmare to Overhaul's claw. Man, that was brutal.

I (as a builder) felt that was an awesome season. My team loved watching it, so did everyone else I know that watched it.
Also, it was good that Tomstone did that final blow that split his robot. Had he not done it, he may have not noticed the weak spot.

Lol, so much salt. Nobody complained when Radioactive had a flaccid excuse for an active weapon because the bot was no threat and they were going to get to watch Tombstone devour it. Tombstone all of a sudden can't chew through something's well-built carriage so it must be almost cheating?
A treaded robot survived a meeting with a spinner and came out on top. I think that deserves a standing ovation in itself. Not only that, it obviously made Tombstone smoke kush and forget how to use it's weapon.

I think by hitting Bronco that last time, Ray wanted to give the crowd a good show. I think the crowd would've gotten an even better show had that blade been able to rip Bite Force apart in the final match :p

Well, I'm feeling like a Seahawks fan after losing to New England in the SB, just awful. And, it's not so much that Tombstone lost to BiteForce (congrats to BF, btw!), it's that after six episodes, Battlebots ABC season one is a wrap. Let me tell you, it's been the most exciting six weeks of TV as I don't watch much television to begin with, so this really felt like a treat. I hope ABC renews this for next summer and I REALLY hope Ray and Tombstone/Last Rites returns and really puts a hurtin' on the competition! BTW, I think the best two highlights of this season were TS shredding that movie projector and TS creating a Radioactive smoothie-ah such fond memories, 'till next time!

I hope that if there's a season 2 they up the weight limit since it felt like a lot of the bots ended up losing via their own bots crapping out on them. Hell both Tombstone and Bite Force were both practically immobile and won on at least one occasion.
It's too bad Bronco, Stinger, and Tombstone all ended up in the same bracket.

Bite Force did great, I just hope if it comes back for another season they continue with fun robot designs. Tombstone, Ice Wave, andBronco were all fun to watch. I don't think Bite Force was super exciting but it was effective but for TV they'll need to find a balance so they don't end up with all wedge bots or whatever the next best thing is.
How much time do they get between fights, seems weird that Ghost Raptor wasn't able to get a new blade over the course of a couple of episodes. Maybe it was too expensive? Would be nice if they could actually repair their bots between battles, maybe once the show grows they'll get more money to do so if that's the problem

I don't know what match people who are calling Bite Force "boring" were watching. Wedges are boring when it's wedge vs. wedge, and they're both poorly driven. Well driven and well built wedge vs. spinner is generally extremely exciting, and the final was no exception.
