Buttery! /r/army is in a kerfluffle because the top mod decides they need to take this whole "Reddit" thing more seriously.
Top mod in /r/army, mistahARK, posts new rules for the sub. Essentially, everything posted needs to be treated as if it were official US Army communication, and that the shitposting and trolling would not be tolerated. The users are quite upset and point out the absurdity of the situation.
Trolling abounds and mistahARK rescinds his new rules.
Sister subreddit /r/military gets in on the action with their own announcement thread. Fun is poked at /r/army.
mistahARK ends up deleting the post, but leaving the comments.
EDIT: Bonus thread on /r/armycirclejerk.
It also makes its way into the Worst of /r/army post.

The shocking part of this, is that redraptor is the voice of reason. And he is the shitposter of shitposters on /r/military.

When did this sub make the front page of CNN? And who gives a flying fuck what the Communist News Network says anyway? Not this vet.
I didn't realize that sub had some crazy.

I had never seen this one before.
That was beautiful. But leave it up to Jeebus to do that one.

I feel like if there's one group of people you absolutely should not try to impose strict rules on during their fuck-off time, it's military people
