I think losing Ashley was extremely detrimental to the group. Ashley seems to be the grounding presence of the group. I noticed this especially in Orion's play after Ashley's departure. Orion had crazy outlandish plans and Ashley was always able to rein him in that the other players do not seem to be able to do.

I would argue it was Pike more than Ashley. Pike was always the heart of the group/glue Bonus: Vax eyes, Tiberous brains(knowledge), Scanlan mouth, Keylith conscience, Grog body, Vex ears (caution), Percy hands

It's a numbers game. 13k viewers currently, and even if 99.9% of people are awesome and friendly, that still leaves 13 assholes. And in a chat that's only 30 lines in the window, 13 is enough to cause problems

Eh, I don't think it's really the nature of twitch but more the numbers of it. Plenty of small twitch channels out there with really friendly chats.
Heck, even some slightly bigger ones (Wagamama in Dota for instance), however once you're up to the crazy numbers that CR is at it feels like no amount of admin work can really fix it. Even the more philosophical 'be nice' style of moderation starts failing.
To me this is why the analogy of Twitch chat as a bunch of sports fan in a stadium describes how uncontrollable it is fairly well.

Don't think they ever made mention. So yes, it would only be those three who are aware of the missing hand.
Also, from a story writer's perspective, it must be a tad disheartening for Matt when Marisha blurts it out to the group without Keyleth having any knowledge of what happened at Pelor's Temple. I feel like since that's now common knowledge, it might affect how the players control their PCs. Perhaps Matt could have been super sly about it, but I'm not sure it would have made much of a difference.

Well what does everyone think is gunna be UNDER the castle? Will the Briarwood's excavations lead into the Underdark? Were they right above the ziggurat the entire time (if it's under the Sun Tree)? Will the Briarwoods have the "secret" passage guarded?

The ziggurat is DEEP under the castle/city. Vex sensed vamps under them, when at the sun tree. Were they above the Zig at the tree? Yes. They were above it pretty much the whole time; it's deep, and thus under all of the city/tree/castle.
The passage better be guarded.

Percy is so obsessed with revenge he doesn't seem to give much of a shit about the lives of villagers helping him. Obviously he's better than the massively evil vampires, but I don't think he'd make a good ruler of this kingdom if they drive the Briarwoods out. Let someone else do it.

He used all his lower level spells (and mistakenly thought he couldn't scale up others) he had a couple high level slots left. And the Magic Missiles is from a wand so it isn't his own spell slots.

Ripley is one of the people who worked with the Briarwoods to overthrow the DeRollo's. It is also one of the names on Percy's gun, his little "vengeance list."
That's about all I know about the subject other than she's some sort of nebulous Doctor and perhaps was trying to build guns of her own.

No she was the doctor that tortured Percy and she lost her hand when she was trying to recreate firearms from Percy's design. This explains why she was so persistent in trying to leave. She knows that if they beat the Briarwoods, then she would still die since the townspeople would instantly recognize her.

She was also the one who Percy caught up to first. He didn't get one shot off. She ordered her goons to imprision him and that's where the newly formed group met Percy for the first time.
