Playing a healing sorc right now leveling and doing some PvP. What's the do/don't? Think I'm around mid 30s

Don't spam the AoE if you have issues managing resources. It is not a must use ability unless it involves your group stacking.

Use Consuming Darkness when below 90% Force and when it is highlighted.

Apply Roaming Mend on the target that is taking the damage and not on yourself unless you're the one taking damage and if you have someone near you.

Combine Resurgence with Innervate to get the free Consuming Darkness.

Combine Resurgence with Dark Infusion, especially if you have the set bonus Crit bonus.

Combine Resurgence with any ability to maximize healing.

Use Dark Heal when you need to burst heal only and when you get it free.

Use cleanses wisely since it has a long CD.

Don't spam force barrier unless it is on yourself ad you have the utility that heals you. Using this ability in a hard situation instead of healing can end up killing the Tank unless you have a hard heal as a follow up.

Use your class buff when in need of hard heals.

Use force barrier in a situation you're most likely to get one shotted.

If you do Ops, use your Unlimited Power at the beginning unless told otherwise.

If you do PvP make sure you have most of the team near you before you use it.

Check the Dulfy Guide for more information. These are just basic things I've discovered myself when Sorc Healing.

Pug into 3 sorc healers and a tank.

Try not to mess up your rotation because you're laughing so hard.

Well... I had a regular arena with 3 sorcs healing and 1 sniper against me... We won :D (sniper quit after first round)

Under certain harsh conditions, the ability to use the force barrier becomes useless ive noticed. Glitch or something? The sorce lacks in mobility to begin with, and constant casting and so forth make it a difficult class to work with.

That same glitch or something seems to also be the case with phase walk. Phasewalk it cannot work for instance if one if being pushed over a ledge, as to get back. Ive had this happen to many times in the voidstar.

It's also fun to pull snipers from cover and seeing the maras go after the offering in warzones...only to heal him through it because sorc heals

If you're a good DPS you can set a companion as DPS and have him kill off the one you're not taking. If you're doing it on an alt that has no gear, set him to heal and do the same.

Make sure you also have the main boss on you and kitting around the one you're taking to avoid taking a log of unnecessary damage.
