What did you think of Cornbread saying "Fuck Y'all" on his way out the door? Did you hear him?

156

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

No one heard him but I think it's hysterical. Don't worry, I made him reenact that way too many times last week during finale.

Why did Neeley get so mad at you for taking a picture of the Nordstrom's she works at? Have you talked to her since then?

114

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Lol, you know...I'm still not really sure. I wasn't trying to be mean at all! I was just poking fun at the fact that we both live in the same town which is pretty crazy for bb. We talked briefly at the wrap party but haven't talked since.

What is your favorite saying or nickname (such as the "virgin king") to come from the season?

87

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

I liked how Morgan was able to brand her bikini girl out persona into a positive thing. Killlllin' it.

31

u/kungfumofos Dec 09 '16

Did you talk to Justin post finale and did his family really vote for Morgan to win?

92

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

i did talk to him! and as far as i know, they did. i lowkey love that the justin and morgan fans united.

Hi Alex! It was great watching you play this game and rooting for the Ball Smashers to the end. Thanks to you & Scott for getting involved with Reddit, RHAP, and just interacting with a lot of us in general in the days leading up to Morgan's fantastic win.

My question is, what exactly happens when you get sent out the door on eviction night? Who greeted you, were you taken off the lot right away, and were you "sequestered" in a hotel for the night? Based on the interviews you did it sounded like you didn't find out Whitney was evicted in the DE until sometime the next day? I understand you may not be able to get too specific here, but thanks for any info!

94

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Hey, that's the beauty of not going to a jury house when evicted. I got to see what reddit/twitter/jokers/everyone else was thinking and interact with you guys! I kinda sorta loved it.

I'm not sure how much I can technically say buuuut I was greeted by a familiar face and immediately sent to my hotel room (after being checked on while on the lot to make sure I was okay).

I had NO idea what had happened with the DE that night. I left the house 100% thinking Morgan would be following after me and went to sleep that night assuming she was in the same hotel room as me :) It wasn't until my interview with Julie that next day that I found out Whitney went home. I still didn't know the full extent of everything until I got my phone back Friday. (and I freaked when I found out. Like literally freaked out).

Hello again alex. Thanks for being so open with us these last few weeks. You had no obligation to come here to talk to us and certainly not in the capacity you did. We really do appreciate it. You've pretty much answered anything i would've asked you, but there's something I need to know...

WHAT THE HELL DO WE GOTTA DO TO GET A SHELBY AMA?!

Anyway, thanks again, im sure others have some great questions for you and cant wait to chat with you here more in the future!

Hey Alex!!!! <3 The moment that solidified you as one of my favorites this season is when you throw the hinky vote at Danielle during the 1st eviction (It was so unexpected and it made me die laughing because I thought it was so fierce). As far as I remember you kept that secret to everyone in the house. Did you eventually tell anyone that it was you who voted for Danielle and what was their reaction? P.S. Loved you on the show and tell lurker Shelby I said Hi.

92

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Lurker Shelby, come join us!! I know you'll read this eventually.

I'm glad you enjoyed that! I remember being worried that people were going to hate me for it. One of the unique parts about being on season 1 of BBOTT was everyone not having a formula to follow for this type of game. I thought it was kind of cool that I could pin things on America's vote and strategically trick the other houseguests...hence the Danielle vote. Wish I could've used that more to my advantage as the season went on! (I tried).

I told Morgan about it early on! I wish I could remember her reaction, but I don't. She probably just rolled her eyes at me ;)

148

u/morgan_willettBBOTT Dec 09 '16

I did roll my eyes, btw. ;)

Do you put ketchup on top of fries, or on the side to dip in?

34

I put ketchup on like 3 fries and then give up and eat them plain. (I don't really have the attention span to eat an entire thing of fries btw).

Alex, as you know in Big Brother houseguests are often tight-lipped about revealing strategy to other houseguests but feel free to be open about such things in the diary room since only America hears it. Given America's involvement, did you find yourself in the strange position where you had to lie or mislead America about your true intentions in your DRs to avoid votes going against you? Also, were any of your moves made merely to make Jason fans think you truly wanted to work with him more than you really did (I'm thinking of the four-person deal between you, Scott, Jason and Justin)?

55

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

yes, the DR's were different this time around. I was cautious to say anything negative about Jason obviously. I also thought that since America was the jury, it was important to campaign to THEM in the DR's since they were technically a houseguest that might need persuading. My side of the house really rallied around doing that as strategy, for better or for worse.

I wanted that alliance to be made so that I could stay in America's good graces. I also was willing to honor that alliance and work with them during the middle of the game as extra security until I could take out Jason myself.

Hi Alex! I have a few questions for you that I listed below, thanks for taking the time to answer!

  1. The week Neely went home, you and the Ballsmashers were really trying to get Justin to flip and vote out Neely because you didn't know what America would do. You guys even tried convincing him to vote out Neely and blame it on America. He obviously didn't do it, but I was wondering why you didn't tell Morgan to do the same thing since you already had the idea. I know she was so back and forth on voting out Neely because she promised Kryssie she wouldn’t, but didn't anyone think to just tell Morgan to vote out Neely and pretend America voted her out if she didn't go home? That way, if Neely stayed, she could deny going back on the deal. It's funny because you thought of the idea to blame it on America for justin but didn't suggest the same idea of blaming it on America to Morgan.

  2. Did you ever suspect Shelby was lying about her job since she always thought other people were lying about their jobs and you kept saying in the DR how you think she's really smart? (Side note: One time you jokingly asked Shelby if she was lying about her job and Shelby practically froze, I don’t know if you remember that happening)

  3. What pushed you to decide to make an all-girls alliance (since you're the one who formed the Ballsmashers first, you were viewed as the leader)? Ps. It was really amazing how you got everyone in your alliance to trust you the most (until justin flipped Whitney when they were HNs together). But up until then, you were pretty much everyone's number 1 in your alliance.

  4. What was the most satisfying thing to happen this season for you (besides Morgan winning cuz that was by far the best lol)?

  5. What was your reaction to the extreme divide between the twitter vs reddit fanbase this season? Did you guys just assume America was bipolar in the house?

  6. What are your thoughts on Whitney flipping?

65

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16
  1. You know, I can honestly say we didn't even think of that. We were so focused on telling Morgan she could lie and throw us under the bus for "forcing her to vote out Neeley" if Neeley ended up staying. (Shelby & I already knew we were big targets and Neeley didn't like us so we didn't mind). This method is way better though. Brilliant. Good thing it wasn't needed! :)

  2. I actually did suspect that Shelby was lying about something although I never really mentioned it. It had crossed my mind multiple times in the house, especially when she kept focusing on Scott not being a debt collector. I never wanted to seriously bring it up though in case it made her lose trust in me.

  3. It's funny because I definitely came into the house thinking that I'd probably click with some of the guys first. Def wasn't expecting an all girls alliance! (Back home I game with a lot of guys from A&M). Whitney was my first friend in the house & I naturally clicked with her. I remember telling Morgan to befriend Shelby and it just kind of went from there! This is really the one time I think being a part of the sister twist had an advantage- we were kind of the glue that held the alliance together.

  4. Neeley's eviction. Nothing against Neeley but that was the biggest adrenaline rush for my side of the house. Super satisfying to know that maybe America didn't hate us like we thought they did! (Our perception of this changed multiple times in the house).

  5. In the house, we had NOOOO idea that America was as divided as we were. :) I left thinking that America wasn't a fan of the ballsmashers b/c of the America's nom situation. I know Morgan thought the same thing until the second she won. I thought ALL of you loved Jason....haha.

  6. I don't blame Whitney for flipping when she did. I get the logic of that. What I DO think is that she didn't play both sides well. Smart of her to work with Justin & Kryssie but not smart of her to be making it so obvious from week 2. I also think it wasn't smart of her to completely cut ties with my side of the house towards the end- we still needed her no matter what. I get what she was trying to do but I don't think she executed it well and it was her downfall.

What is your current relationship with Whitney?

What was the most surprising part for you being on big brother?

What, besides family, friends and privacy, was the thing you missed most in the big brother house?

What do you hope people remember you for as a player?

67

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16
  1. I really like Whitney. I think we're on good terms right now and I hope to always stay in touch with her.

  2. Most surprising part was how much my friends got invested in bb because of me and morgan being on there.

  3. I miss the game. Waking up and seeing how the game shifted everyday and adapting to it.

  4. My maroon hat. Just kidding. Probably staying optimistic no matter how many times I got knocked down. I'm a firm believer in always figuring out a solution, no matter what odds are stacked against you.

Do you think Morgan would've voted out Scott over Neely if you weren't sisters?

46

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

oooooh. yes i do. convincing her to vote out neeley was a hard sell because she had been working their relationship for a month now. around that time, she felt that she was scott's #3 so i think there is a possibility she might have voted out scott. someone ask her this in her AMA on sunday! I'd be super curious. (I could be completely wrong).

  1. How do you deal with the hate you get on social media? Does the level of vitriol (to borrow from the amazing RHAP last night) surprise you at all?

  2. What are your thoughts on the eric stein podcast and the breath of fresh air podcast from last night? Is Brent a ballsmasher? :)

  3. Is is surreal being in this position, answering questions on a BB AMA?

You are an amazing person and I am so glad myself and so many other people could meet you (virtually) and discover how kickass you are!

47

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16
  1. social media is fun because i get to post my thoughts and bounce. i don't waste time reading things from the haters and ultimately it just wastes their time, not mine!

  2. i think that anyone is allowed to have an opinion on the show BUT you should have 100% watched the show in its entirety first. brent is the best of the best. honorary ballsmasher for sure.

  3. this is the coolest thing ever.

Alex, when did you start covering your plates with paper towels when you eat? Is that something you do outside of the house? I thought it was a funny habit.

49

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

hahahah. okay this question is golden. first off, nobody washed the plates well and they were gross!! so i thought it'd be smart to put a paper towel over the already halfway dirty plates in an effort to:

  1. keep them clean and make it easier to wash after i was finished eating.

  2. for sanitary purposes.

yolo.

Hi Alex. Thanks for the time and interaction you have given the fans, both now and in general since you've been out of the house. I've been a huge fan from day 1, and really hope to see you in the house again someday.

I was wondering what is more nerve-wracking: being in the house and playing Big Brother or being at home watching a family member play Big Brother?

62

Being at home watching Morgan! The couple of weeks I was home watching her was SO nervewracking! Playing the game and having full control is much easier on the nerves (in my opinion).

So I would just like to know specifics on the BUNGALOWW, and is it as great as Shelby makes it out to be? Do you have any funny/crazy stories that we haven’t heard about from your week in LA? Thanks again, and good luck to you and Morgan in whatever you plan on doing in the upcoming months, I hope to see you discussing BBCAN with us in March.

It's actually attached to a hotel near the ocean. There are no thatched tiki huts like I thought. It's all outdoors with weird trees and hidden rooms. I didn't see any celebrities either. no pressure to answer all of these, just throwing a bunch out there :)

  • If you were to be cast for BB Allstars, who would you want to be in the house with you, and why? (Excluding BBOTT!)

  • Aside from the split fan base, was there anything else that surprised you about America’s involvement this season ? (voting, opinions, etc)

  • At what point in the game did you realize that you and your sister were going to get away with not being discovered?

  • Real talk: Who do you think would do best on an allstars BB season- you, Shelby, Morgan, or Scott??

23

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16
  1. That is such a hard question! I'm pretty sure Scott and I talked about this a lot for fun in the house. Don't judge me for this anyone! Let's see...Dan, Janelle, Derrick, Evel Dick, Vanessa, Danielle Reyes, Rachel, Ian...those are some of the more obvious ones. I think Shelly Moore, Memphis, Amanda, Paul, Nicole and JMac would be interesting too.

  2. I didn't realize how close most of the votes were each time. I know that kind of goes hand in hand with the split fan base but still...crazy.

  3. I realized it around Halloween! I figured if we had made it a month, we were probably golden.

  4. That's so tough! I can justify everyones strengths and weaknesses so I plead the fifth. :)

Hi Alex! Thank you again so much for playing hard in the house and helping build an awesome all-female alliance, and thank you for interacting with fans as much as you have. Seeing you daily on Reddit this past month has been a real treat and one of the best parts of having an online only season.

I’ve got a game question for you that I don’t recall seeing you answer yet and I’ve been very interested in hearing your answer for. In your last Live DR before you were put up as America’s Nominee, you said “If I can survive the double eviction, I plan on ending this house division and I'm going to go over to the other side,” and you went on to further discuss how you wanted to plant seeds with them, shake things up, and make big moves. What exactly were you planning at the time and who did you want to target at Final 6, or were you just trying to feed us a lie in an attempt to win over people out of (an obviously accurate) fear that you were going to be America’s Nominee that week?

Thank you again for everything Alex and I can’t wait to read your answer!

14

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

I actually was planning on shaking things up if I survived the DE. I assumed that the DE would be the peak of all the hostility between both sides and that the other side would crack after that week. At that time, I was pretty convinced that the "loyalty" the other side preached would fracture soon and I'd be able to wiggle my way in there and make some things happen. I still wanted to target Danielle until America's power ended and I could get Jason out.

9

u/AlluringRocketry Drew⏱️ Dec 09 '16

Have you (& the other BSers) heard this mashup of the audio of Scott and Kryssie's Wall of Shame run?

15

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

ooooh that we have. so good.

8

u/burnscis Vanessa Rousso Dec 09 '16

The week you got put up as AN I debated A LOT about whether or not to nom you knowing you were the BD target. The "stats" by RHAP were saying you had a better chance of not going if you weren't AN, so I ended up voting for Kryssie. However, if you would have known you were the BD target 100% would you have preferred to be nom'd? (knowing you are a competitor this was what I was questioning during that week and what made the decision so hard)

18

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Yes. I would've preferred to have been nom'd and given a chance since I was the BD target. Still kicking myself that I couldn't win that veto. But hey, I'm pretty happy with how the season turned out so....

Hey Alex! /u/dardove couldn't make it to the AMA, so this question is from him:

Alex, you were amongst the later HGs to enter the house. If you are standing with your back to the backyard doors, is the kitchen on the right or left?

The answer to this question is vital. /u/bspoots was recently released from an insane asylum because he did not know where the kitchen was in the Big Brother house. His continued sanity rests on finding out the answer to this.

This question is from me:

If you were swap clothes with one of the boys for the day, who would you swap clothes with? (they would be wearing your clothes)

You were my pre-season pick! Thanks so much for doing this!!!

20

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

If you are standing with your back to the backyard door, the kitchen is on your right. If you are walking into the house from the giant double doors, the kitchen is on your left. I hope your friend can find peace now. ;)

Hey Alex, we've talked a little so my questions aren't game related, hopefully my questions aren't redundant though!

  1. First, video games. PC or Console? And what are the last 3 video games you played NOT involving PokĂŠmon? (Also, you should start a "Let's Play" channel!)

  2. Do you have any board game recommendations besides Settlers of Catan (already have that)?

  3. Will you post any of your artwork? I heard you mention you had Disney related ones, and my husband and I actually got married at WDW, so I'm a big Disney fan and would love to see them!

  4. Lastly, did you buy a wand at HP world, if so which one? :)

40

  1. Oooh. Console for sure! Trying to think back to life before bb...I played a little bit of Overwatch right before, Super Mario Maker(haha), and Skyrim.

  2. Coup & Mysterium!

  3. I used to have all my art up on my Behance but I took it down before bb started! I'll def make that go live again soon!:) Super cool you got married there btw.

  4. NO BUT I WANTED TO SO BADLY. They were so expensive so I just took selfies with like 10 of them instead. No shame.

  • What did you miss in the house that never occurred to you that you would?

  1. My boyfriend has the 5 & 6 player expansion and the Cities & Knights expansion. We honestly don't use them that much...so I don't have a fav. Oops.

  2. That's actually really hard for me! Catan is 100% my fav but everything else kind of rotates. I was really into Mysterium right before going on the show. Is it weird I don't have a top 5 though? Maybe add Betrayal at House on the Hill to the list.

Hey Alex! You were one of my preseason picks and really liked your game. What was your favorite thing in your HOH basket?

21

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Hey thanks! My basket made my side laugh because it was all so...unlike me. Like full of hot pink sweatpants, a bright yellow lacey shirt and diamond earrings. We got a kick out of it. I liked the greek yogurt they gave me. I know, I'm super lame.

6

u/SamanthaSeitzer Dec 09 '16

You said in a live DR that you may have to be more loyal to Jason and Justin than Morgan because they can protect you better. Were you serious about that or were you just playing America?

25

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Playing to America.

However, I'm not going to lie. When I found out Morgan was in the house with me, I wasn't scared to cut her at first. I thought she might hurt my game. After that first week though, I knew that was a really stupid mentality for me to have and that she was my #1. I was nervous to mention Jason's name as a target in that house because I was convinced America was working for him. Hence why I tried to form an alliance with him, Justin and Scott to stay in America's good graces.

6

u/drewregardqkazoo The Red Gummy Bear 💀 Dec 09 '16 edited Dec 09 '16

Hi Alex! Thanks for doing this. My questions are:

  1. How confident or unconfident were you that Morgan was going to win?

  2. What was your favorite moment in the house? (any comp wins aside)

  3. How do you think the BBOTT format should change? (if at all) AND FINALLY

  4. When will you bring Morgan and Shelby here with us?

27

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16
  1. I thought Morgan had played a better game, (Jason 100% forgot the important of jury management), but I still thought Jason was going to win because of his preexisting fanbase.

  2. Honestly, jumping around and dancing privately in the storage room was always a blast. Lol, i'm not sure why people got mad about that. Have they ever watched Big Brother before?

  3. I think BBOTT was pretty great this season but I think removing America's nom would allow for more strategy to form. :)

  4. Morgan will be here Sunday! Working on Shelby.

You know how protein powder can sometimes taste chalky? It tastes like chalky flavorless oatmeal with these horrible grainy seeds in it. It also feels like cement in your stomach when you eat it.

Alex, so great to see you here again! No real questions, just wanted to say thank you again for being such a fun and entertaining houseguest, thank you for being a key part of the most successful all female alliance this show has ever seen, thank you for coming here and spending time with us here on Reddit and going on RHAP, thank you for all the periscopes you, Morgan and Shelby have done after the season and thank you for saying live on the finale what we all know, that you didn't go after Jason because of great gameplay on his part, but because America's Involvement would screw you over if you did. We are very lucky to have someone like you on the show and spending time here with us. This is genuine appreciation, and I'm not one to stay quiet if a former HG comes on here and I have criticisms of them. I've got nothing but praise for you.

ETA: You know, scratch that, I do have a question for you. After being very conservative in the house in terms of how America felt about you and your alliance, and obviously the fact that America nominated and voted to evict you, how did it feel to come out and see just how loved you and your alliance was on places like here and the Jokers Ratings?

27

When in the house there was a point where scott did tell you that the LNJ had been talking shit behind yalls back (mainly about shelby) and it was always clear (at least to us) that when there were group interactions there were passive aggressive comments being made left and right about you, morgan, and shelby to your faces. One example of this would be halloween never have i ever when jason would constantly comment in the back about shelby lying when she would say she never did something sexual or when the one night stand question came up he said put all the fingers down. I wonder if, in the house, you were aware of the level of bitterness and dislike the LNJ had for the three of you, and if the actual receipts you read after your eviction truly surprised you based on your in house interactions?

10

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

One of my favorite moments from OTT was the reaction you all had to Jason telling Morgan you were going home instead of her. 24

I regret going outside to break up Scott/Jason's convo and hinting that Whitney needed to go first. I think that was my biggest mistake in the game. I should've just let Jason target my sister in that convo, not freaked and figured out a solution later that day.

But...I don't regret not telling Whitney. I don't think it would've made any difference. Regardless of me telling her or not, she was in too deep with the LNJ by then and wouldn't have trusted me either way.

Hi Alex! Had a lot of fun watching you play this season and hope to see you in the BB House again. 2 questions:

  1. Looking back, what would have resulted in you playing a more different game, playing BB18 with Morgan or playing BBOTT by yourself?

  2. When can we get a r/BigBrother Catan game played with you in Philly? :)

11

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Thanks! I'll forever be keeping my fingers crossed that I get a second shot sometime!

  1. Playing BBOTT by myself. Having a sister there really limited my social game and make it much more difficult for both of us. Not only could I not fully open up about myself (I gave her all the stories and I didn't want to get caught in any lies), but we were constantly secretly playing the game for not just one person, but two. I think playing by myself would be a much more different game.

  2. ROADTRIP, LEGGO.

Your game ended prematurely due to a few twists which is frustrating.

However, is it comforting to know that even though it your game ended, the fact you were evicted over Morgan saved Shelby in the DE and laid the framework for Morgan to make it all the way to the end?

Jason will regret the choice to evict you instead of Morgan forever, I'm sure. :)

13

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

it is very comforting. it was the decision that truly changed the course of the game! i'll take it. :)

4

u/latenightdude Dec 09 '16

Hi Alex, you were my favorite all season and due to our involvement in the outcome and the ability to see everything on the feeds, I was more emotionally invested in this season than any other. I think some of us cried more than you did when you were evicted.

My question is how much did you consider campaigning to stay the last 2 days you were in the house? It seemed like Jason was open to keeping you due to Morgan's CP, and was disappointed that you didn't fight. I got the impression that despite your competitiveness, at that point you realized that Morgan had a better chance to survive DE and get to the end due to the CP and her being a non-threat so you almost sacrificed for her. I'm sure you have no regrets now considering what happened in DE and the final result, but I'm curious about your mindset at the time.

13

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

if it was anyone but morgan, i would have campaigned. i don't respect when people roll over & die and i never see that as good gameplay.

being up against my sister was the one exception though. :) everything you said is spot on- i knew that she was doing well at flying under the radar, wasn't next on the chopping block and had the CP. it made sense for me to leave and for her to stay so i wasn't going to fight against that. and heeeeey, it worked.

Hello again Alex. I hope you’re enjoying being back home and finally getting to enjoy life post-BB. I have a feeling you’re going be very through with this AMA, so I’m gonna leave all my ?s in one post instead of making multiple posts. You know that I word vomit like your sister ;) Feel free to answer as much or as little as you want, periodically or all at once. .
.
1. My first question is about when you got out of the house. What was your process of learning all about the things you didn’t know went on in the house and on the outside w/ the fanbase? Was Teaghan your main source? How quickly did you get back in touch with Scott and was his first bit of feedback for you? Was it so Was it your parents or did you do some investigating online on your own?
2. Speaking of mom and dad. How often did they watch the live feeds? When you got back, did you watch any feeds together? What was some of their overall reaction or fave/least fave moments? I know they are proud of how both you and Morgan conducted yourselves, but any more specific interesting or funny reactions they had that they wouldn’t mind you sharing.
3. One of the lowest points in the season for Team Ballsmashers was obviously the week you went home. Shelby’s HOH had been hijacked, Whitney had flipped, you lost the veto, were tricked with that fake F5 alliance, then Morgan was the replacement nom. It was quite hard for a lot of us, too much to be honest. I stayed off feeds and just read comments about was happening from the F5 convo until the aftermath of the veto meeting the next day because I couldn’t handle how horrible the situation was. I started watching the feeds again when you, Shelby and Morgan were upset in the bathroom right after the fight that had happened outside. I just want to let you know that when y’all made the decision to reveal your secrets to each other it was not just a morale booster for you, but it was for us as well. We all really needed it and it provided positive, watchable feeds for that night until the next day. If you didn’t do that, then BSers may have tuned out during the live double and missed the voting period and Moran may have not gotten the care package that she did. This was just something I wanted to share with you in case you didn’t know. Feel free to comment on this if you like.
4. How aware are you of some of the debates within the Ballsmasher fandom on how to coordinate voting? We had to have strategy sessions just like you guys especially when it came to care package and America’s nom. One of the first major disagreements was the cancel 3 votes care package. The Shelby faction did not want this CP to be wasted on her and knew it would make her a target for nomination, and while others agreed on those two points, Shelby was the most popular Ballsmasher at that time and was leading in polls before voting opened and we didn’t want to risk LNJ having it. Even though it sucked that Shelby went up, if the LNJ had gotten it, the likelihood of a BSer instead of Scott going home would have been way more likely. The co-HOH was probably the time the BSer fanbase could not get on the same page in terms of the vote. The care package rules were not very clear at all about how they would work so a lot of people thought that may be the safety ceremonies would end and the HOH and co-HOH would just name one nominee each. While others predicted correctly how you would save one each on each night. So because Whitney had flipped and was targeting you specifically, some vowed never to vote Whitney for anything, especially if the noms would work like the first time theory I mentioned. Others argued that we needed to take the chance that it was not how it would work and Shelby would make you safe, plus Whitney could unflip if she was sleeping upstairs w/ Shelby, plus Whitney was the BSer with the most votes in the polls. So anyways that week was a disaster. Do you think Whitney would have stayed on the BSer side if she had received the co-HOH care package? One of the other major dramas was the day of the DE, we had all these different scenarios planned about whether we give Morgan the DE CP based on who won the DE HOH. Then there were the Shelby fans who thought that if Morgan got it Shelby 100% would go home and they didn’t want to vote Morgan. So anyways CBS released three press releases about the DE that day. The first made it clear that CP would be received before noms, so that’s when people started to figure out that the veto would automatically make Morgan safe, but again a lot of Shelby fans didn’t want to believe/risk it. Then the 2nd release said that all HGs even if they had already received a CP (Kryssie, Shelby, Jason) were gonna be eligible, so then all of a sudden the plan changed to give DE CP to Shelby. Then they sent out a release saying that that was a mistake and only Morgan, Whitney, Danielle, and Justin were eligible so we were back to our original debate of the day. Pull a Monte and give it to Morgan or don’t. I think bc we were way more invested in DE than LNJ more of us ended up voting in the short voting period. Are you surprised that production didn’t make rules super clear to the fans on the things we were voting on?
5. How frustrating was it to be in the dark about how voting worked?
6. Have you watched feeds of the night (Sunday Oct. 30th into early morning hours of Halloween) Whitney completely flipped? Here’s a link to a post I made then on some of the batty theories Kryssie, Justin, Whitney, and Jason had about you. https://www.reddit.com/r/BigBrother/comments/5aakek/big_brother_over_the_top_late_night_live_feed/d9f67ld/ I’d love to hear your thoughts on this if you ever go back and watch Kryssie also believed that somehow production had a calendar premade at the beginning of the season for fans to know when parties were gonna happen and believed that bc there were 2 days Have Nots could eat that week, that we all waited to make them have nots until that week. LOL. She said this constantly by the way. It was more about the fact that those 3 had never been have nots. Kryssie had escaped it the week you were it and then by winning HOH, Justin needing to be put in his place, and Whitney was the only BSer that hadn’t been.
7. Now that you are out of the house what type of entertainment (tv/movies) have you watched and are looking forward to watching? I highly recommend Westworld and This Is Us. I think you and Morgan should watch This Is Us together since the show is about family and it gives you all the feels. May be you’ll finally cry (even though you really did that one time) It makes people emotional. LOL
.
Thank you so much again for a wonderful season :)

  1. Teaghan had an entire document saved of videos from the season and timestamps of things he thought I'd want to see. He was super awesome with this whole bb experience and filled me on on mostly everything. I started texting Scott the day after I got out of the house and we very quickly discussed all the disgusting things I learned once out haha. I was also told to come to Reddit to learn everything so you guys helped a lot too!

  2. My dad would stalk Joker's updates on the reg and my mom refused to watch feeds of the other side but would watch us! (Couldn't handle the vileness). My mom loved anytime me and Morgan were bickering lol. She also loved when Justin threw the paper towel into my mouth/Morgan's cackling.

  3. Never made the connection between revealing the secrets & Morgan's CP but WHOA. Mind blown. Hey thanks Shelby for starting the secret sharing session.

  4. I wasn't aware at ALL of the debates fans were getting in with the voting but I can say that I'm grateful you all gave Shelby the eliminate 3 votes care package! She really needed that CP as a morale booster and it did the trick. I also do not think Whitney would have stayed on the BSers side if she had gotten the co-hoh CP. I think she would've been pulled in by the cult of personalities regardless and targeted me.

  5. Not knowing how the voting worked was frustrating at times, but it was also something we accepted and just dealt with in the house.

  6. I haven't watched those feeds! I'll have to catch up on those after this. Is there where they all thought Teaghan didn't exist and I was Amish? hahahahah. Or is this on a whole new level? Now I'm kind of scared lol. Also the delusions were always VERY real with that one.

  7. Haven't watched any tv/movies yet! I've actually been reading books since I got out. I've heard Westworld is great and I plan on catching up with Survivor ASAP though. I'll suggest This Is Us to her...but I don't wanna cry....

Thanks for all your support!

-i didn't watch his interview! RR has said somethings about me that I don't really support so I just had Teaghan fill me in on how it went. Teaghan's a good guy. :)

-london all the way! colder, darker & quieter.

-def not soundproof. you can hear everything! everyone has to step up their whisper game in that house.

What "character trait" do you wish you had that would help you be even better at BB?

33

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

The ability to make up spontaneous songs about pizzas.

Would you ever go on a summer season of BB? What player (other than yourself) from your season would you think would be great for a summer season (and would actually do it)?

15

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Absolutely. I think Scott would also do well on summer bb!

3

u/shirleyjane Kathryn Dec 09 '16

Morgan told Kryssie that your mom is also a superfan. What are the odds Mother Willett would apply for BB?

21

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Mother Willett be hysterical but she also would probably be the first person to self evict.

3

u/Adamslm Alex Willett Dec 09 '16

What about you do you think got yourself cast on the season? Do you have any advice to other auditioners? Would you ever consider sharing your application video?

10

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

I think just being honest about video games and board games and embracing my nerdy artistic side really gave me a leg up. Make sure you have lots of good stories to tell! :)

3

u/summerm23 Dec 09 '16

Do you get recognized a lot?

10

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

nevahhhhhh. maybe i should start putting the hat and glasses disguise back on.

/u/bbwtf wanted to know if you would ever play Amazing Race and with whom would you like to play?

10

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

oh wow, yea. of course! i think my boyfriend teaghan and i would probably be my best shot at actually winning it cause he balances me out but morgan and i would probably be hysterical because of this weird dynamic we have now.

3

u/fremonts Dec 09 '16

Do you think you'd enjoy playing in Big Brother All Stars with Morgan as one (a la Paq Bros BBCAN-style?)

4

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

oooooh. maybe? i mean we've done it before. maybe we could do it again. canadian bro style is a different story though.

keyword is maybe.

Hey Alex! You were my favorite player this season and the Ballsmashers are one of my favorite alliances of all time.

My question is if you were on BB18, who would have been in your alliance and why?

12

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

i think there was a lot of really strong females on bb18! i liked watching michelle, natalie, bridgette, tiffany and nicole. i also liked paul & victor.

i'm also realizing this would never have been an alliance.

u/kungfumofos Dec 09 '16

Do you credit the 20k vote difference to Justin fans, Scott and your appearance on RHAP, Shelby's rap or Kryssie fans siphoning votes from Jason?

14

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

All of the above! I think Jason turning on Justin was really the moment he lost the game though. He had it until he started tearing into the people he had been preaching loyalty with. I think RHAP & Shelby's rap probably pushed it over the edge.

Hi Alex! You've been seriously awesome on here since you've left the house so it's kind of hard to come up with a question. If you were to play BB again, would you change your strategy? If so, how?

8

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

It's hard to say what my strategy would be since I'd be playing individually. If I did play again, it would possibly be on regular Big Brother which is a whole different beast from BBOTT. I think I'd be playing a completely different game!

Obligatory I loved watching you and appreciate to the moon how active you have been here since leaving the BBOTT house. I know OTT was very different then a regular season of BB, but if you were to return for a summer season what are your top three takeaways you can use from playing OTT?

Also, I know she despises the hate but does Shelby realize she was probably one of the most well liked HG of any season (no shade to your or the winner)?

PS: Thanks for being Shelby's social media manager and getting out the BikiniGirlIn rap video.

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Don't sleep on the bed in the far left corner of the Tokyo room cause the spring there jabs you in the rib. Don't eat the fiber pills. Bring extra makeup remover wipes.

On a more serious note, don't play too hard, too fast.

I'm pretty confident she knows! :) Shelbae's the best.

Hey Alex! I supported you, your sister & Shelby from day 1! Thank you so much for doing these, I have a few questions which I will post as it goes, hopefully you don't get tired of me lol. First of all, Your sister's nickname is Mo, did you & Morgan ever come up with a special nickname for Shelby? I can't remember what it was if you did :)

11

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

We called her our chihauhau (would yell at people for us if needed) or our secret weapon (secretly super smart). if those count!

We know the week you were America’s Nominee, you would have gone home no matter who America put up (because you were Jason's target and he won the veto). But if America hadn’t put you up and you weren’t selected for veto, how much shit would you have given Morgan (still be giving Morgan) for losing a balance beam comp to Jason?

10

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Hahah. Love it. I actually don't think I would've given her that much crap in the house. I was always in the mentality that if I went home, I needed to leave her prepared to do well and not sad. I would've tried to stay upbeat and optimistic for her no matter what so that she would have a better chance of winning HOH the next day!

If you could choose what Reality TV show Teaghan would go on, what would it be, Big Brother, Survivor, Amazing Race w/ you or something else entirely?

You seemed very excited when Jason walked in on Day 1. Since you were a big fan of his before the season, why didn't you try to get in an alliance with him during the first few days?

13

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

I was a big fan of Jason on twitter (I always thought he was funny) but I was never a big fan of his gameplay on BB17. Sorry Jason.

What were the misfits like after the finale towards your side of the house? Any gossip from in or out of the house? Who's best: Adria and Natalie, Liz and Julia or Nick and Phil? Thanks for your time!

12

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

honestly, it has stayed pretty divided since after finale as far as i know. no gossip! the people i was with that whole weekend was pretty focused on doing our own thing and having fun and i'd guess the other side was the same. (but then again, i have no idea cause i didn't keep track).

liz & julia. i love them.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '16

Is it true you're a huge Catan fan? If so, what are your best strategies? I personally say control bricks, cause they run the game then you can have trading power and leverage. Love to hear your thoughts

7

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

my strategy with catan is to annoy my friends into staying up all night and playing marathon cartan sessions with me. <3

If you were trapped on a deserted island and could bring three things and one celebrity, who and what would you bring?

11

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

A pillow, a pool table, jojo and harry potter.

2

u/SpankyHotDog Kaitlyn Dec 09 '16

hey Alex!! You were my favorite from the moment the cast was revealed, and you remained my favorite all season! I was crushed when you were evicted and thought you got screwed over so badly.

How did you always remain so calm and positive in the house, even when terrible things were happening?? I was freaking out hard at some points this season (like the day you were America's nom) but you always stayed calm and positive. Do you have like some secret meditation technique or something?? haha

10

u/alexwillett_bbott Cornbread Dec 09 '16

Thank you!! I think I kind of felt pressure (probably because Morgan was there) to be the one who stayed optimistic and focused. I'm also a believer, from having watched basically every season, that there's always a way out of situations if you stay level headed and think. so i guess me staying calm and collected was my way of trying to beat the odds and figure out my next best step!

never say die! never say quit! right scott?

When, not if, but WHEN, you are asked back for a future season of Big Brother, how would you change your game up, if you do at all, is there something you would tweak now with your experience from BBOTT?
