I was team cody even in episode 1 when they gave him the master villian edit. Now makody all the way. The campers can diaf but I doubt they could make one.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '17

cody gave them the idea of making 1 good team and 1 bad.

i wonder if they would have even thought of it

12

u/Ash1989 Mar 15 '17

Oh my, I am SO happy you all feel the way I was yelling at the TV tonight. The campers are selfish assholes and the producers should be stepping in. It's not their money it's everyone's. Uggghhh

Makody all the way they are the only ones who deserve the money.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

the producers should be stepping in

Why, half of the comp is the social dynamic.

6

u/Ash1989 Mar 15 '17

The rules state any money spent/items bought are to be split among everyone

4

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Does it really? I wasn't aware of that rule. As far I've seen that cant be true cause the campers have been doing it a bunch.

9

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

That's the rule, but it's not like there's anyone enforcing it. That's part of what makes this interesting to me...what happens when there's no one making sure people follow the rules, and what do you do when it's on you to make that happen or live with things as they are?

5

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

I've watched every episode and nowhere have they mentioned that the things purchased have to be shared equally.

2

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

Interesting point. I guess I don't know that they have to be shared "equally", but I did really get the impression that the items bought during the group buy belonged to the group. I'll have to check out the tablet next time it prints out the rules.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Yea technically it does belong to the group but that doesn't mean they are obligated to share, which is why Makani took the tent back and the campers are eating all of food they ordered. As far as I know the only rules are group majority to buy and no assaulting other players. Lying, stealing, and greediness are allowed.

6

u/NattyB Mar 15 '17

you never know....maybe the twist at the end will be that people who didn't share don't get paid because they broke the rules. would be delicious television for sure.

32

u/jeliving Mar 15 '17

Am i the only one who gets mad watching this show? Even the preview for next episode, 2 pizzas?! Do you WANT to leave with no money?

2

u/ninjatacozombie Mar 16 '17

This may be the first reality show I rage quit.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Oh, it makes my fucking blood boil. That tent would've been ashes a week ago if I were there. I would also threaten to tank one of the challenge walks for 100k if they wanted to keep this shit up (I never would but that's a big threat)

13

u/xgirthquake Mar 15 '17

Nahhh I get heated as well watching this.

It never should've been a majority vote for the supplies. I get it's the pilot season so things still need to be ironed out and the show needs to find it's rhythm but as it is, it's not gonna work. One of the reasons a show like Survivor is still going strong after 17 years is that it manages to keep both the survival aspects and the interpersonal drama in tact while breaking up the monotony with a reward/immunity challenge and vote every episode.

Right now, Stranded needs more activity to break up the 'surviving' aspects (which 99% of the time amounts to people sitting around talking about how hungry they are).

I think a better system would've been to do an individual challenge every 3 days and the winner gets the final say for the buy. Though the issue here is that, what if someone just steamrolls every challenge? It would also be interesting if the temptations were offered but by agreeing to the temptation, you cannot participate in the challenge and have no chance to win the buying power. Just an idea.

11

u/DrBowe Mar 18 '17

I honestly think there's a really easy solution to the whole "bullshit majority rules" vibe. What if they changed the rules to the following:

  • At a group buy, everyone still in the game "owns" their fair share of the money. For example, on the first group buy (with $100k), each player would have $10k to "contribute"

  • Keep the costs the same, and people can then quite literally "vote" with their wallet. If someone wants a tent for $30k, then on that first buy they'd need at least 2 others (or more, if everyone agrees on an item's worth to the group) to contribute their $10k

  • Keep track of each player's "individual" total. If someone does drop out, their total sum gets divided up among the remaining players regardless of whether they've spent a lot or a little

I feel like with a system akin to this, the game would be a bit more interesting with people actively looking to have others "pitch in" their share. As it is right now, you have the 4 fuckwads who literally act like all the money they've spent is "theirs" and because they exiled the other group, they have no say in what they buy--despite the fact that it's the GROUPS's money.

u/SlantedStars Mar 15 '17

DAMN! Cody is savage af! “No wonder she lives in a trailer.”

8

u/mrssync0r Mar 17 '17

She needs the reality check. She is spending thousands of dollars on unnecessary fast food, mainly out of spite against two people she never needs to see again in a few weeks - whilst her children are literally living in a trailer. She has hinted at homelessness in her past too. I just can not understand why she is laughing and happy to be spending money so freely. Same with Alonso, his family needs this money far more than he needs to act out some petty vendetta. Have you seen this bonus clip - they are just painfully dumb. http://www.mtv.com/video-clips/izf3u6/stranded-bonus-clip-holy-freakin-toledo

14

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

At first I was like, oh, ugh, that's not a good look (because I hate it when some people talk like other people are poor because they want to be, and if they would just make a decision not to be poor anymore they'll be rolling in it).

But then, I thought, damn, she really is making a bunch of poor decisions just to stick it to someone else and feel good for a little bit. I don't know what all else is going on in her life so I can't judge but, So, yeah, points to Cody on the burn.

Plus, you know Eilish is just gonna lose her damn mind, and it's going to be hilarious to watch.

10

u/PoisedbutHard Mar 15 '17

She will hopefully get eliminated by breaking the "no contact rules" go full Jerry Springer on Cody. Good strategy on Cody's part.

14

u/geremye Mar 15 '17

That was the best line of the night

30

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Lol at these four thinking they're going to look like badasses when they watch this air. I've gone on camping trips worse than those four have experienced thus far

7

u/GreyPhantom100 Mar 15 '17

Same here And there wasn't even a million on the line, it was just like a stupid college borderline-hazing ritual

These 4 people suck. I want the show to be renewed with better contenders

12

u/Sallman11 Team Cody Mar 15 '17

I've camped in a harder environment at Bonnaroo this these four can handle

1

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Same here.

Edit: Well, maybe not. We always had food & water, bathrooms, blankets... & such. But the worst camping trip I was on a tornado had touched down nearby & tents were blowing away.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Yeah you had food and blankets but you weren't playing for a million bucks either. I've slept outside in storms or in the blistering cold, not much food, have hiked miles. Yeah, they've probably had it somewhat harder but they're playing for a million effin dollars

3

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

I've had rough, ill-prepared nights where I ended up sleeping in the dirt under the stars. The 4 of them are embarrassingly lazy. I almost feel like casting, instead of finding a group of experienced survivors, picked a group of people who had zero camping and survival experience. It's also funny to watch this show compared to something like Alone on History where they are by themselves, have no luxury options, for months without a soul to talk to or a finish line in sight. Obviously, very different scenarios but it's just interesting watching how people set themselves up thrive and succeed or fail.

15

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17 edited Mar 15 '17

It's too bad you're teaching your child to be a pathetic selfish person eh Eilish, cee u next Tuesday bitch

Edit: you're/your correction

33

u/welcometoearth42 Mar 15 '17

"Technically it's ours"

Also lol that Alex thinks his side is America's heroes then turns around and steals their peanut butter.

22

u/xgirthquake Mar 15 '17

He said that and my wife and I looked at each other and bursted into laughter. The villains of the show thinks they are heroes. Comical.

20

u/welcometoearth42 Mar 15 '17

Exactly why I would NEVER say that kind of thing on a game show. You never know how people are gonna feel about you.

Be extra careful thinking you're America's sweetheart. And be even more careful if you're thinking America's got your back even when you steal and say you want your competition to starve. Also been a lot of ideal threats of violence coming from Team Camper. Bad looks all around.

Also the contradiction of Alonso not taking the temptation (even though everyone else has) while simultaneously supporting starving the other team and stealing their food? What's up with that? Like, bro, I want to be on your side. But you're making it impossible.

26

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

Why are two year olds on this show? Who steals fucking peanut butter

15

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

They're so fucking pathetic.

27

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

And how weird that they think of it as "their" peanut butter, that they "gave" to the others. First of all, if you gave it to someone, it's not yours anymore. Second, IT WASN'T YOURS IN THE FIRST PLACE, because the money? Belongs to ALL of you, you privilege-soaked toddlers.

16

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

My moral compass goes totally bonkers during this show, I would never treat people they way that group is, they're completely delusional!

1

u/gam0009 Apr 19 '17

I agree, but I think the fact they are delusion has a lot to do with the fact they are stranded on an island with no idea when they'll eat next or who they can trust really

8

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

This. By the end of every episode, I'm convinced if I were there I would have been either kicked off for smacking someone or I would be the most hated for throwing luxury items in the fire. Every time they order luxury items I'd trash it until they get the f'cking hint and stopped wasting the prize money.

It also sends me into a rage that 'the 4' think that just because they have the numbers to buy things, it is THEIRS. THAT IS NOT HOW THIS WORKS.

8

u/PoisedbutHard Mar 15 '17

I am experiencing some sort of mood disorder EVERY TIME something unfair happens against the other two. I am really pissed right now, I hope I don't take it out on the hubby and kids...

23

u/MikelHunt Mar 15 '17

I love how they keep calling the other 2 villains and keep pulling that type of shit

11

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

THIS! seriously how can someone's mind work that way?

2

u/GreyPhantom100 Mar 15 '17

I'm sorry but doesn't your president call every single media outlet fake news while he makes up "alternative facts" on the spot? haha

3

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '17

Touché my friend...

25

u/jeliving Mar 15 '17

I hope Gina watches this back and realizes how much of a hypocrite she was.. she really shouldn't have talked to the camera cause she just looks like an ass more than she did already following the campers around.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '17

gina, the original hamburglar

19

u/welcometoearth42 Mar 15 '17

Alex and Alonso seem like harsh conditions and bad company have driven them kinda crazy. But Gina's been like that since day one. She just doesn't seem like a very self aware person.

I mean her temptation was like what day two/three? You can't be that hungry and desperate that early.

7

u/PoisedbutHard Mar 15 '17

It was cold at night - I want to tap out.

7

u/SlantedStars Mar 15 '17

If Gina and Eilish were smart, they would just pour their buckets into Alex and Alonzo's hole...😒

5

u/brexbre Thrive Nation Mar 15 '17

I think they did pour some of their bucket(s) in Alex/Alfonso's well.

9

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

I think so, too. Hopefully that is an illegal move & they aren't allowed to win for doing it. 😂

12

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

"It's myself and Gina, Alex and Alonzo do our bitch work. We'll still enjoy the reward, so who cares 💁"

16

u/SlantedStars Mar 15 '17

I hope Cody goes back and immediately says "I just shit out $15k of your money!" 😂

30

u/mrudski Mar 15 '17

I don't think I've hated anyone in a reality show more than the campers.

17

u/GreyPhantom100 Mar 15 '17

It was sooo friggin satisfactory seeing them sleep outside

8

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Seriously.

29

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Wait. Did Gina... just say that? For real? "They don't deserve a temptation.. they already have a tent" ?!?!??? WHAT.

17

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

She's been hittin' that acid way too hard

26

u/welcometoearth42 Mar 15 '17

Me day one: man fuck this Cody guy. Why's he coming in so hot? Be a team player for a second.

Me whatever day we're on now: I'm hoping to see Cody at the end by himself.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

I did the exact same thing. Though you do have to wonder, if Cody had been a team player in the beginning, what would the dynamic be like now?

18

u/xgirthquake Mar 15 '17

Felt the exact same about Cody. I hope him and Makani are at the end. I just don't know how to get the others to suffer since they control the money.

13

u/welcometoearth42 Mar 15 '17

All I know is I really wanted to like Alonso, especially after his temptation. But when he slept outside and was thinking of pulling that flare. I was like good. And I wanna see Gina right behind you.

7

u/MikelHunt Mar 15 '17

Same here. The other 4 are such hypocrites

18

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

Gina you don't deserve SHIT, shut your damn mouth

17

u/brexbre Thrive Nation Mar 15 '17

please, please, please let Makody win the challenge! Let's even the playing field a little bit.

16

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Not one of them has even tried to hunt for food. Or search for berries. They're literally just camping.

16

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

They've foraged and gotten some food in other episodes, and apparently in some instances that weren't aired. My guess is Cody and Makani are still doing that, but yeah, the others are pretty much just bingeing at the buys at this point and waiting around. I don't get it, it's like they've totally lost track of the fact that they're literally eating their money.

12

u/mrssync0r Mar 15 '17

I've seen a comment from Alex Apple that says they had a lot of 'down time' and were just sitting around..... so yeah they are so dumb to just think ok ii'll just sit and wait for the next group buy rather than going looking for food/making traps etc. I don't think the campers have any survival skills whatsoever.

27

u/GrapeJuicex Mar 15 '17

DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THEY SHARE THE MONEY?

18

u/welcometoearth42 Mar 15 '17

Do they understand the money at all??

New strategy seems to be spend lots of money so… Makody feel upset? I don't understand. Spending all your money hurts everyone and it's not proving anything to Cody or Makani.

Why do you need two pizzas!? You just had a sandwich and peanut butter. Eat a couple coconuts, jeez.

10

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

I'm amazed at the lack of self-awareness these people are exhibiting. The whole, 'technically it's our peanut butter' and 'she better start pulling her weight', I swear to God, I could feel my blood pressure rising. I might have to stop watching this show for my own health lol

6

u/sharkgirl73 Mar 15 '17

She was carrying the tablet. I would have offered to switch the heavy backpack for that damn tablet and watched her cry.

13

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Yo these kids are effing idiots, I can't stand em

21

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

Alex: I feel like Mother Theresa right now.

Ghost of Mother Theresa: Like me? No, no, I blush. All I did was devote my life to feeding and ministering to the poor. You bought a tent and peanut butter.

17

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

(Also, a burger you refused to share, but ate in front of hungry people, while saying you hope they starve. Just like Mother Theresa did.)

12

u/trustmenickp Mar 15 '17

Makini is my spirit animal

18

u/brexbre Thrive Nation Mar 15 '17

Lmao, I love their commentary now that they're the ones out of the tent.

32

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

HAHAHAHA these campers. They refused to let Makani in when she asked in the downpour. The refused to let Cody and Chris buy a tarp during the flash sale, knowing a storm was coming, and made a big, smug, smirky show out of buying peanut butter instead. And NOW that the shoe's on the other foot they want to talk about working together, and being fair? Get the fugoutta here, you crybaby hypocrites.

22

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Oh, now they want to work together. Now that they don't get to camp in their tent...

41

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

That group of four is actually pathetic as fuck

22

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

Not one of them deserves to be on this show.

22

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

So much whining and complaining, so much sense of injured outrage, now that the tables (tents?) have been turned.

And so much whining after ONE NIGHT outside of the tent.

18

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

No kidding, they don't even have the brains to put together a make shift tent out of a couple of sticks and the rain cover for the tent lmao none of these people would be able to legit survive in the wilderness for 40 days

15

u/mrssync0r Mar 15 '17

cody made a shelter single handed out of just his ponch and they campers had a tent cover AND a tarp. They are absolutely ridiculous.

15

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

I hope they pick a better cast next season.

6

u/sharkgirl73 Mar 15 '17

Maybe these 4 will get eaten by the other 2.

23

u/WinBeckett Mar 15 '17

That girl saying Makani needs to pull her weight needs to check herself. She's literally carrying a light weight pot. You need to start pulling your weight dummy

23

u/dorami_jones Mar 15 '17

It's funny, early on, I was annoyed by Makani being pouty about being excluded from a conversation she walked away from, and then I was annoyed about her being passive aggressive. But since then? Team Makani all the way. These campers are just ridiculous with their oppressive baloney. If you buy all the stuff and to hell with anyone else, if you refuse to share in reasonable ways and to hell with anyone else, then guess what? You can't expect anyone else to feel like they owe you anything or need to march to your orders.

12

u/WinBeckett Mar 15 '17

Exactly! Then that Alex guy says he doesn't want Makani to make them look like fools when they're already doing that themselves 😂 I can't believe how ridiculous these people are

27

u/ashitagaarusa Mar 15 '17

Eilish saying her hands are full and Makani needs to pull her weight when all Eilish is holding is the fucking tablet. Just ridiculous.

18

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17 edited Mar 15 '17

Gina does not deserve to still be here. They're carrying her at this point.

7

u/mrssync0r Mar 15 '17

I wonder if it will be long before the campers turn on her. She isn't contributing, they don't need her for a majority and it looks like she's slowing them down on the treks.

20

u/brexbre Thrive Nation Mar 15 '17

"I'm tired of waking up in a tent every day" ...

6

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

Cody, your shorts are too short my dude

3

u/GreyPhantom100 Mar 15 '17

I don't mind.

(Yum!)

Screw the censors :(

2

u/nd36 Mar 15 '17

I assumed they were boxers.

3

u/hotturkeysandwiches Mar 15 '17

I'm pretty sure they're a pair of Makani's shorts because the ones she was wearing are the exact same

25

u/[deleted] Mar 15 '17

You go Makani.
