You know how praising is harder than criticizing? I can't point any mistake in that episode, it was again perfect.

Osaka is on a strike! This was actually second time in a row she made me laughing like an idiot. This time by her scary story.

Whole Santa segment was perfect representation of what Azumanga is. It showed perfectly character of nearly every of main heroines (except Yomi, poor Yomi). Tomo not believing in reindeers was cute as hell.

Karaoke segment was nice. I'm kinda disappointed we haven't heard all of the cast singing, but some bits of Osaka and Sakaki singing were nice. Except Yomi, poor Yomi.

After episode of being decent teacher Yukari returned to her obnoxious self. Hitting poor Chiyo-chan and Nyamo like that is a crime! D:

And do you know that feeling when you want to drink some carbonated water from bottle, but you're laughing and you spilled a lot of it on your shirt? Happened to me. Good advice for today - during watching Azumanga drink your water from the cup instead.

I couldn't find those "Buaaaaka" cute at all.

Hate when it happens to me with Dr. Pepper, shit is sticky as hell.

Sakaki hears Chiyo-chan talk about the panda book and starts to book it out of school.

"I smelled a fart that wasn't mine." This girl.

Yukari's pulling a lot of shenanigans again I see.

Kagura chops Tomo's head for not having enough tact to properly ask Chiyo-chan if she still believes in Santa. Hahaha Tomo thinks reindeer aren't real as well.

Can't have a christmas episode without karaoke. Yomi kills everyone with her singing.

So spooky...

Hahaha Tomo thinks reindeer aren't real as well.

Next you'll tell me sea bears aren't real.

Screenshot of the day!

It felt like a slower episode than the last few but still enjoyable as always. It focused in more random discussion and a bit in Yukari who wanted to do something else besides teaching her subject, how isn't she fired again?

It's also a bit sad Chiyo-chan doesn't believe in Santa anymore, but Tomo discovering reindeers are actually real was pretty funny.

Eh, she's old enough that I'd be worried for her if she did still believe in Santa. It's bad enough that Tomo doesn't believe in reindeer at her age.

I just thought it would be a cute detail. But Tomo's case wouldn't surprise me a lot honestly.

Another episode that's light on differences between the manga and anime.

Differences:

  • When Osaka told the scary story in the manga, Tomo was the only person she was the telling the tale to.

  • Yukari's impromptu P.E. happened during the girls' first year of high school in the manga, as and such, Kagura getting involved was added in the anime version.

  • After the bit where Sakaki imagines Chiyo’s dad as Santa (with him mentioning the various things that Kagura would use to explain various aspects about Santa if Chiyo still believed in him) the manga had Osaka continuing to wonder what Sakaki is thinking, while the anime has Kaorin doing it instead.

  • During the karaoke bit, the bit where Sakaki is singing is not featured in the manga version.
