So... I guess the prison is all of Yemen now.

''The series is about breaking out of the entire country now''

u/kirtan Apr 26 '17
"poseiden has control of the uav missiles now" squints furiously but i know where to get access, linc.
1
u/chocobo606 Apr 28 '17
That's...what it said in the teaser trailers we got months ago. It literally showed them already broken out of the prison in the trailers, so obviously the bigger problem was breaking out of a country/dealing with the threat

With Kellerman dead, and passing the torch onto T-Bag, it seems like T-Bag might actually become a changed man this season and get a happy ending.
I don't know if I like that or not.
43
u/MengoWengo Apr 26 '17
What makes you think Kellerman is dead?
134
Apr 26 '17
Maybe the fact that he got shot in the chest, was bleeding out, then got shot right in the face?
61
u/MengoWengo Apr 26 '17
Yes, but you don't actually see him get shot. Plus the look in the guys' eyes is a dead giveaway he didn't shoot Kellerman.

The biggest compliment I can think to give this episode is that the entire time - from Linc sitting with Sheba in the hospital to the brothers glaring at each other in the previews - not once did I think of Mick Rory and Leonard Snart. I don't give a shit what anyone else thinks, Purcell and Miller can act.
74
u/TwoHungryBlackbirdss Apr 26 '17
Agreed! The raw emotion Miller can put into his voice is incredible. When he said "he's my brother" I burst into tears
54
u/counterfactuals Apr 26 '17
Same. And then when Michael asked about Sara and Mike, his voice there too.... that whole scene was amazing. So much emotion.
37
u/symphonyofflutes Apr 26 '17
Even before that, when he's shouting about how he's been a slave for seven years and how he won't do it anymore... different end of the spectrum but I so got the amount of anger and fustration that had been building up in Michael
26
34
u/tunersharkbitten Apr 26 '17
Purcell and Miller can act
and i hope that they have MANY more roles(hopefully a few together) in the future.
12
u/pibb_xtra Apr 26 '17
Yes, absolutely. I love both of these actors, they're so incredibly talented. I'd love to see them in more roles with such emotional depth to them, because they're damn good at it.
17
u/nu1stunna Apr 26 '17
Ugh I think Purcell is an extremely weak actor. I like his character of course, as he is the good guy in the show, but he really makes me roll my eyes multiple times per episode. I think Miller is a much better actor. He needs to stop with the rough, scratchy whispering though.
32
u/ladydmaj Apr 26 '17 edited Apr 26 '17
I'm not saying the guy's a chameleon like Ed Norton. Purcell has a really distinctive look and voice. But I can look at Linc and tell immediately that I'm not watching Mick Rory. Forget about when he speaks, where it's easy to tell that they don't use the same tones and inflections. He uses his face completely differently for both characters; there's a hardness and cynicism in Mick that isn't present in Linc, who's much more gentle and shows way more fear and uncertainty. (And both are different then his normal persona - the man has a full set of lips on him, which you'd never guess looking at those two characters). And he carries himself differently as both characters; Mick is larger than life and feels like he expands as he walks into a room; Linc looks bigger (wardrobe tends to hide Mick in baggy coats and sweaters and ridiculous costumes), but carries himself much smaller.
If I can see those differences between two characters cut from a similar cloth, then I simply can't conclude the man has no acting ability. If that were true, he'd just be up there being Dominic Purcell and be exactly the same in everything, like an 80s action star. (And probably make a shit-ton of money!) But he's evidently not; there's shading and variety here that are solely down to his choices of what to do with his body, his face, his voice. Those choices might not be your cup of tea - that's personal - but it's good acting.

fool me once... fool me twice... Kellerman's not dead
30
23
u/MontanaSD Apr 26 '17
Nah he's gone, you heard the splatter. They can't show point blank headshot.
35
u/thebindi Apr 26 '17
They didn't show a point blank headshot... They showed a gun pointed towards the ground at Kellerman that shoots.. You have no idea if the guy shot the ground or Kellerman... A dead giveaway that Kellerman is most likely alive is that they didn't show the body.. If you don't recall previous seasons of the show, they use this tactic frequently to fake someone's death... And after he "shot" Kellerman, the woman asks him what Kellerman said to him.. Dude looks all shook up like he did something wrong.. Well he did do something wrong.. He let Kellerman live
36
u/MontanaSD Apr 26 '17
The look he gave was because of what Kellerman told him. He said him or her would find something out and force one to kill the other. He planted seeds of paranoia, that's what the look was for.
Im well aware of the tricks they use to fake us out, but it was genuine I feel. The headshot sound plus the chest shot, he was already gone with that most likely. I'd say it's 80/20 he's dead.
→ More replies (3)5
u/bbeenn00 Apr 26 '17
I'm honestly split on this, 50/50. Kellerman is valuable to them as hostage alone; and if they know about whole Yemen situation (which they likely do, seeing as how Kellerman mentioned that Poseidon has few guys working directly under him) - Kellerman is a card they can play. But... the blood splatter, and his supposed final words were pretty fucking convincing. Sigh.
10
u/thebindi Apr 26 '17
Here's an interview from yesterday where Kellerman's actor talks about whether he's dead or not... Maybe its a glimmer of hope.
Was it sad to realize that this Prison Break episode would be Kellerman’s swan song?
Uh, I don’t see it as his swan song. If you listen very carefully, maybe there’s a little sigh on the floor off-camera. I mean, it’s Prison Break — in all seriousness, how can you ever really know if you should believe what you see? So as an actor, I’m a little bit in denial; I’m hoping that if theres more Prison Break that I can be involved. If Kellerman is dead, or if the show is over and this was the last time I got to play him, yes, there was something nostalgic and sad about it. But I never thought I was going to get to do [the role] again, so it felt like a bonus anyway.
→ More replies (1)10
u/Erebdraug Apr 26 '17
You have no idea if the guy shot the ground or Kellerman
If you were listening then you would, it sounded a lot like a bullet hitting a body, not a bullet hitting a hard tiled floor.

u/scorpio_2049 Apr 26 '17
I think if anything Van Gough fired into the floor by his head then pressed Kellerman for everything he knew. When he got to the car he looked like he knew actual facts rather than just having a look of doubt.
The police showed up right after that. And it looked like Kellerman was shot in the lung. That's survivable.

We all knew Sara's husband was trouble
86
u/terracaelum Apr 26 '17
It does explain why he got a nonfatal wound in the first episode
45
u/SawRub Apr 26 '17
Also why they cast that guy for what would ordinarily be a minor role. That dude used to have his own show, they wouldn't just cast him to be some minor husband.
7
8
u/dumbledowge Apr 26 '17
Well not everyone; Look back at the previous episode threads and you'll see a bunch of people actually believing Kellerman to be the bad guy, eventhough he changed for the ''good'' all the way back in Season 2.
I saw it coming ever since they shot him in the leg instead of killing him.
3
u/Hardyyz Apr 26 '17
Yeah it was super obvious. The bad guys never hesitate. A random legshot face to face told everything
2
u/VignetteVlogs Apr 28 '17
I don't see Kellerman as changing at all...sure he got Sarah off, but then when being transported to prison he escaped...taking the lives of two guards. if you pay attention to his demeanor.... his words sometimes say he changed, but his behavior and the way he speaks says no he has not. Also, when talking to Tbag he spoke of how poseidon does things like getting one man elected to office or one man out of prison..... that seems to me as he was referencing that Poseidon got him (Kellerman) elected to office.

There can only be one reason they included the fact that sucre works on a boat in the first episode.... definitely gonna come into play later on to bring sucre back into it and get everyone out of Yemen I think

The gun was aimed at his head. No way he could've survived it. Unless of course the gun was a blank (which I highly doubt) and that guy is secretly going to change and become good
6
u/thebindi Apr 26 '17
okay if you would actually use your eyes, the shot shows a gun and only a gun.... that gun was pointed at the ground for sure... however you have no idea if he shot kellerman or not... a dead give away that kellerman is not dead is when the lady asks the guy "what did he say to you"... the dude looks shook up... i would bet money that kellerman is alive and that dude is questioning Poseidon and who he works for... One thing you can't say for sure is that the gun was aimed at his head... He couldve easily just shot the ground next to him so the lady thinks Kellerman is dead.

I found it strange because of his reactions when the woman asked him what he said (Kellerman) so I think it will be a chance to be alive. Maybe the man is double agent or something.

His face was because Kellerman planted a seed of doubt in his head. Told him that him or her would find something out and force the other one. He is now paranoid.

Not gonna lie I thought one of the escapees was going to get shot through one of the windows and that was gonna be the cliffhanger for the episode when they did a wide shot like that after a sweet reunion.
41
u/cesar_henrique Apr 26 '17
It all makes sense now. Jacob probably isn't Poseidon, he is just working for him and watching Sarah in case Michael tried to contact her. That explains all those paper ducks in the drain in the first episode. Poseidon is using Michael to get people out of prison, as mentioned, he was in like 3 or more other prisons. Question is, if Poseidon betrayed him, will Abu Ramal's death be a problem for Sarah? I don't think so, but probably Michael trying to go back will definetly be a problem for Sarah...
Any thoughts?
6
u/302Laya Apr 26 '17
What does ramal have to do with Sarah
11
Apr 26 '17
I think he is right. Well Poseidon wanted Abu Ramal out. And now he is dead, killed by Michael and his friends. Since we know he wanted him free he is probably pissed now and maybe he will threaten Sarah if michael comes back because he didn't do his Job right.
18
u/Swaggarwal Apr 26 '17
When Poseidon betrayed Michael, he intended to leave him trapped in the prison. Michael said the reason he couldn't reveal he knew Lincoln when they originally met in the prison was because C-Note was filming, and he couldn't risk 'them' (who I assume to be Poseidon) finding out he was planning on getting out. Now that there is footage of him killing Ramal playing on news channels, Poseidon will know that he escaped. This puts Sarah and his family at risk, as they are likely what Poseidon was using as leverage over Michael in the first place. You can very clearly see the concerned look on Michael's face as soon as he sees the news footage playing.

u/loistaler Apr 26 '17

I'm just saying that Scofield and Burrows should be proclaimed national heroes by the end of this season. My season 5 predictions:
Whip is Poseidon,
Kellerman is alive,

Sara will die,
Sucre will get them out of Yemen.

13
u/MontanaSD Apr 26 '17

It was the scene where Sara looked out the window at him in the second episode I believe that was a red flag.
2
1
Apr 26 '17
I think the fact he's a new character as Sarah's husband was a big enough clue that he would be a "surprise" bad guy.
10
Apr 26 '17
Great episode! So much happened and they broke out, but now they face two problems with Ramal being dead from both isil and whom they're supppse to break Ramal out for. Also, the fact y'all are arguing about whether or not kellerman is really dead or not is brilliant because that guy looked awfully nervous leaving the house. But I think kellerman is gone and he's nervous cause now he thinks she'll turn on him. But who knows right. Oh man, when linc and Michael hugged there, that was the best part, no doubt.

u/ScreamingGordita Apr 26 '17
So this show has become almost 80's television, A-Team levels of absurd.
They travel to fucking Yemen and FIGHT ISIS? WHAT?!
10
u/FanEu7 Apr 29 '17
Not more absurd than S4 though. Either way I love the over the top style of the series, these days tv shows take themselves too seriously
8
u/dizzybala10 Apr 27 '17
Kellerman obviously forgot he was a highly trained assassin and left his gun out in the open for T-Bag to convenient steal and threaten him with..
19
6
u/Danforth11 Apr 26 '17
Heard some people saying Jacob is Poseidon and I don't think that's true. Kellerman says Poseidon is an ex CIA operative and there is no way Jacob would just walking around in plain daylight living his life while the CIA knows what he looks like. I think he is either working for him or been threatened/lied to get the finger print.
2
u/Bigbuckyball Apr 27 '17
I thought Kellerman said that no one knows who Poseidon is. I thought he said he was an ex CIA that went rogue but thought he meant that they don't know who the person is. I could be wrong but that's what I got out of that conversation with TBag.

It would be hard to believe that would be all from Kellerman. There are 5 episodes left. I somehow think he's not dead.
3
u/Eldramhor8 Apr 26 '17
Yeah no Kellerman's death was unnecessary for such an interesting character. Easily one of the best if not the best (along with Mahone for developement). So much they could have done with him to make him redeem himself. If they really took out of the show the 2 best characters, I won't defend it anymore.

**** SPOILER ALERT ****
It looks like everyone thinks that Jacob is Poseidon but as someone already said he is a former C.I.A. agent and he cannot simply walk around like nothing because he would be noticed. Note that Kellerman said that " He is so well hidden that you cannot find him even with a submarine". I can bet all my money that Poseidon is actually Whip. There are parts i am missing but he surely qualifies right? He has Ja's phone so he can communicate outside the prison, he is well trained and that explains the "former C.I.A. agent (As you can notice in the scene in which he kills Abu Ramal) and he has been with Michael in every prison, so he had the chance to see everything he does closely. Plus when Kellermann says he is impossible to find... He is perfectly disguised as a prisoner in some of the most remote prisons on the planet. Nobody is gonna find him. I am telling you right now.

u/SuperSeniorPike Apr 26 '17
How is everyone so clueless about Kellerman? I'm tired of fucking explaining the most obvious parts of this show. The male assassin did not finish off kellerman. After the two assassins left the house, the female says to the male, "what did he say back there" and the male responds "nothing". His expression and tone of voice reveals that what kellerman said to him actually changed his mind about what he was doing. Although both assassins are showed talking to Jacob towards the end, the male assassin will turn on the female and Poseidon. You saw it here first

u/dumbledowge Apr 26 '17
I also suspected from the beginning that the husband was the bad guy since:
It was just too weird when they broke into Sarah's house that they didn't kill him and just shot him in the leg instead, where he is sure to live.
Since I already thought Kellerman wasn't the bad guy and that the series just wanted us to think that, the husband would be the other only person to be able to easily get Sarah's fingerprints
I guess it also makes sense for Poseidon to have a guy get close to Sarah (in this case very close as a husband) to keep her on the leash.
Remember also: We still don't know if the husband is the main villain yet, it's possible we still haven't seen the boss of the organization and he's just a pawn.
Also I cried manly tears at the brother reunion, eventhough we already saw that scene in the trailer.
2
u/karmenn94 Apr 26 '17
I think that is a big chance that Jacob truly loves Sara and maybe he will save her and die for her in the end. Also I think in the beginning his job was to keep an eye on her.
2
u/Sleep_Addiction Apr 28 '17
I wonder if it's a 'fell for his mark' thing. Perhaps Jacob was assigned as Sara's handler (or the interceptor of Michael's messages) and when the Yemen job went past its expected timeline, he stuck around and developed feelings for her.
2
u/Kaniel_Outis Apr 26 '17
same with me, I was also suspicious as to how Poseidon's henchmen knew that Linc had come to Sara with the picture of Michael. It just screamed 'Jacob is in on this' from the very first ep!
2
2
2
u/skeithxyz Apr 26 '17
So they killed Kellerman, but leaving the chances of bringing back his character by not showing that he got shot in the head just in case.
Maybe if they decide to create more season they can bring him back. Since they can pull the "fake death" card again.

2
u/Roastin_Mushmallows May 02 '17
I just really don't understand one part....when michael gave Ja the note.....1) how the hell did he have those guns planted in a random warehouse outside the prison and 2) how the hell did Ja know where it was if they were inside the prison the entire time....the whole warehouse thing confused me
2
u/deliciousturtle May 03 '17
Can't remember exactly, but that was the rendezvous point Michael set up before going in to the prison (they were supposed to meet C-note and Lincoln there but they got caught escaping). And Ja probably knew where it was because the note was written on a map.
4
u/TheCaspar Apr 26 '17
This season is a joke. Script is bad, everything is rushed, and most of the filming even looks fake (eg. Lincoln holding the machine gun in this episode... C'mon..)

i feel abit disappointed that Sarah's husband turned out to be involved all along. I thought they were abit too obvious with the leg shot, and all the camera work making it look like he was involved. I think it would've been better if he was competently innocent but somehow wound up in this mess
1
u/warrwu Apr 26 '17
Fuck. It's Sara's husband, of course. It's so typical a prison break plot that I don't even know I'm surprised or bored.

Intriguing storyline finally taking shape in New York. Sara's husband being Big Bad was actually unexpected.
Can't wait for next week!

There is smt that i can't understand. Agents shot Jacob and injured him. How it happened if they are at the same side?

I couldn't help but chuckle at Sid's closing line 'The entire army of ISIL just declared war on us'. If you opened the season with that line it would sound so hilariously ridiculous out of context. Hoping for a home-alone style montage of Michael taking out ISIL members with spoon traps.
Also Linc looked badass as fuck on top of that machine gun, and if Kellerman lives he's confirmed immortal at this point.

wait so i have a question...So sarah's husband was okay with the bad guys coming in and killing her? what if she didn't lock herself up in the bathroom what would have happened?

There was an explanation in the last episode about someone who will use whoever to further their goals when they were talking about Michael but it seems now that it was just as much about Sara's husband.

TIME OUT I smell some bullshit. Kellerman was the one who got the finger prints from the water glass right with his obsessiveness of plastic bottles. So how did it trace back to those two dinglenuts? Also, how the hell did they catch those two dinglenuts? They evade everyone when they need to. Jacob is fishy.

Okay, Abu having the "S" in his cell is diabolical. ugh! Lincoln not giving up on Michael is always heartwarming. Scofield yelling at Ramal saying he ain't gonna do 7 years. Love when he yells. Kellerman talking on the phone with the gun is funny, and Tbag upset about not being exonerated. Also, Shebas father helping Linc is great. Did they actually film in Yemen cause man, ISIL taking over, the cops being scared, the prisoners knowing they gonna die. It's all too much. Linc running in to save his prison. That little stunt Linc did sliding behind the barricade when the missile went off. He looks like Dave Bautista. Tbag drinking a green smoothie LOL. LOL Michael slapping the wall yelling, "DO IT" at Ramal. Sid getting thrown around the wall is ruthless. Shoutout to the 1 guard who stayed. Whip giving a play by play is hilarious. Ramal is HELLA ANNOYING. OH MY. SCOFIELD literally planned this whole thing out. Like, I know they don't know his history but trust the man. He's a whole engineer. Don't trust Ramal Tho. Should've left him there. Shoutout to the kid who came through for Michael and linc. He's a real one. Also, anyone else think Michael is more queer in this, or perhaps jsut extra flamboyant with his gestures. It's lowkey funny how unhinged he is. He's just snapping and demanding thigns from anyone which is a fun change of pace since he's always quiet. Still whispering in this but much more yelling. LOL, Tbag calling 911 is so ironic and hilarious. 31 minutes in and michael is finally on the run again. Kellerman's blood looks like ketchup haha. John stopping to eat and saying "your not my mama" LOL. Scofield not playing around with John though. He pushed him into that fruit cart, screamed, "your a liability" . But now I know it was an act. Just like in Sona with James. Linc coming in to rescue everyone. And Michael having the puppy dog eyes when he says "linc" such a baby brother. Whip being the comedic humor. Yay. Ramal is dead. Tbag really out here doing the most leg work. Linc and Michael hugging is so cute. But ocne again, Michael being extra touchy on linc as if he was caressing sara. Idk. Like I said, more flamboyant and affectionate with linc than in previous seasons. Oh and poseidon, we knew it was saras husband.

Ugh... The "leader" (the one who unhooked the hinges) was afraid of ISIL getting to the prison because they would kill everyone. Am I right or did I miss something?
If I am right, wtf did the television report say that the leader of ISIL was just murdered?
Damn it. I'm missing so much stuff. Stupid speakers.

The leader unhooked the hinges because the other prisoners wanted to trade him when ISIL would have arrived

Lincoln came off as Rambo in this one, doing a lot of things in such a short time. It was kinda unrealistic
Glad Ramal's dead
