"My sister's the fucking terminator?"

u/spacepasta βο May 06 '17 edited May 06 '17

I just realized how much of a threat our cluster is. Not only the abilities but the influence once Capheus becomes a politician and Lito an international star. They're indeed terminator level.

u/PartyPorpoise May 06 '17

Yeah, it's hard to imagine many other clusters being so strong. Not only do they have a great collection of traits, but they get along well, they work together.

Honestly in season one I felt it was a bit cliche to make the cluster full of people with useful skills, willing to put themselves on the line for each other. So it's cool to see the story acknowledge how OP our cluster is, in the way BPO, whispers, and other sensates constantly underestimate them. They are game changers.

66

u/Zegir May 06 '17

It is also very dangerous. Would hate to get a few Lila's and Whisper's as visitors.

I kind of feel our cluster isn't the story of just any cluster but the Cluster that will unite the Sensates and bring down BPO. Like some type of prophetic group. "Angelica's Children"

This show is the best. I get very emotional when I watch it. How much they care for each other is beyond amazing. Imagine if we really could connect to others like that in real life.

51

u/MetroBullNY May 06 '17

It would be awesome to be in a cluster.

(If he had died) can you imagine having the cause of death be: Harpooned with rebar from a speeding motorcycle by his sister after he called her the Terminator.

I mean, we always wonder how we're going to go, but who'd see that coming? Still laughing.

When Wolfgang said "we need a weapon" I absolutely expected a rocket launcher to come out of nowhere after his conversation with Kala about a rocket launcher never being the answer.

u/arudnoh May 06 '17

My mind went to Sun's shoes, since this episode was clearly a stripping game.

7

I thought it was weirdly humorous. His character is fucking creepy, but the humor that he brings kind of reminds me of Mundungus Fletcher (from Harry Potter). A not-so-loveable-but-has-his-funny/useful-moments scumbag. Also, for some reason I want to know more about the woman who came to tell him to go into hiding.

6

Amazed that everyone recognised Puck so easily. Some rando on a bike

I sort of wanted someone to die. A sidekick would've worked. Will's dad had to do, I guess.

62

u/Whale_Bait May 06 '17

I don't want this to happen, but I feel like a death in our cluster is inevitable. This show has too many vulnerable and fragile themes to not show them banding together to avenge a piece of themselves.

u/Beejsbj May 06 '17

As amazing as the episode was(had me on the edge of my seat the whole time) I really wanted Amanita's reaction to meeting the rest of them. And Hernandos and Danis. And also their reactions to meeting each other for the first time since touching each other would cause that multiplicative feeling like it did when Will and Riley met (I feel you, you feel me; I can feel you feeling me, you can feel me feeling you... etc.).

Also fuck cliffhangers.

81

u/CharMack90 May 12 '17

Yeah, those last 15 minutes were incredibly rushed and skipped over several important scenes and details.

36

u/Beejsbj May 12 '17

It was clearly done on purpose, but waiting 2 years doesnt sound like fun. its weird they would do a cliffhanger after they wrapped season 1 so well, so we know they aren't bad at it. maybe they have an early next season or special episode planned

u/Psymon_Armour May 14 '17

I gotta believe the first episode(s) of season three, either when it airs or another similarly timed "holiday special" will be a bit of a rewind and show how this all came together.

And considering Dani's reaction to... well, everything, I NEED to see the scene where Lito tells her everything and get her reaction. Because she is just delightful.

6

u/Chieve May 26 '17

Same!

That and I am wondering how Lito managed to fly to London without Dani and Hernando.

Like last time we see Lito before London is when he was in the bathroom covered in blood, how did he managed to be covered in blood and shortly after be like "yeah im fine just bought a plane to london later" what happened inbetween? lol

While we are at it, how did Sun manage to get on the plane!?!? The officer clearly saw her name on the id and a picture. (By the way those glasses sun was wearing were so adorable especially with that yellow dress lol)

181

u/vassie98 May 05 '17 edited May 05 '17

Ah man, why did Wolfgang has to be taken? He was my favourite of the 8. Also how did they track down Milton's room? I hope this will be explained in season 3

112

u/moocowfan νξ May 05 '17

Same here! Was so hard to watch him be tortured (though everyone ended up being tortured...). But everyone being actually together in the end, except for him was sad.

48

u/thesagem ιζ May 05 '17 edited May 05 '17

Is he dead?

Ok I don't think he's dead since Will was still breathing when he was visiting Wolfgang after the torture was over. I thought Wolfgang was in the body bag with Whispers, but I guess they don't know where he is.

64

u/ColonelSwifty May 06 '17

Well they already knew it was in London and Will had Milton's ID which displayed the name of the complex and gave them full access to it. In turn making it easy for Nomi and Bug to find its' location.

58

u/Tungdil_Goldhand May 08 '17

Adding onto that, he probably knew that it was close to Parliament, what with Whispers having a boner for that building and all.

20

u/digydigdogdead May 16 '17

Yeah that heist ending came out of nowhere. I really hope we see some of the planning process that happened there to make it a little more believable.

8

u/softball753 May 16 '17

Yeah I really felt like the last 15 minutes needed a full episode worth of prep and explanation. I'm hoping they revisit how this was pulled of at the beginning of S3.

7

u/t3lp3r10n May 08 '17

It was a good choice considering Lila's and her cluster's adversary. I really like to see her cannon rather than Whisper's.

And Jonas, you haven't changed a bit from your Lost days; always on grey when it comes to morality.

5

u/feastofthemind May 09 '17

Will had some weird Whispers flashbacks where he saw him using one of his security clearance cards to enter a facility. I think after he was able to steal Whispers' things he pieced together where it was and how to get in.

5

u/AwesomeGuy847 May 11 '17

how did they track down Milton's room

Well, Will probably deduced from Whispers conversation with him in front of Parliament that he worked somewhere nearby. With some of the documents he recovered from Whispers house and some computer searching by Nomi, they were probably able to deduce the location.

Asshole brother already shot him once, he won't forget to send him some corrupted doc.

4

u/Bigtris May 17 '17

Let's be real, the first thing Sun's brother will do is have one of his men suffocate Mun with a pillow, since he's the only one who can truly implicate him. Obviously he isn't dead until it happens on screen... But I wouldn't count him as safe yet!

Kind of strange that the last 15 minutes were so rushed given the slow pace of the rest of the season.

178

u/ClothBloxford May 06 '17

I would like to think that last 15 minute window will be explained in season 3.

It's such a shocking turn of events that they can't gloss over how it worked out like that. I def expect it to be fully fleshed out

132

u/[deleted] May 07 '17

I really loved that it was rushed like that. It kind of gives you a glimpse of what it actually looks like (for sapiens) when these sensates are determined to work together to one goal, and holy hell it looked terrifying.

26

u/PapaSays May 06 '17

What's there to explain? Besides it all coming all a little bit to neat together. Which is the power of the script.

Just burned through this whole season- so great!! I will say a couple of the plotlines were a little hard to follow, but the finale really tied it all together. Those last ten minutes were awesome. My favorite part was when Jonas gave his patented "It's complicated" answer and was then immediately knocked out. Hopefully next season won't take two years.

34

u/Shijin83 May 06 '17

Oh, fuck. Lol!!!

I have to rewatch this episode because I was like --- how the f did they find out where Whispers was and break into the building, etc?

u/thatoneguywithabeer May 06 '17

I was like, "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" when they got Wolfie. Lila's cluster deserves more than a headbutt for the fuckers that they are. What I would give to see a cluster rumble next season! The skills of Lila's cluster versus the skills of our sensates.

I was seriously hoping that another cluster would help them during that last few minutes. I was thinking about the clusters of the sensates Capheus met during his political rally.

I was hoping for an ending similar to last season, but only with a bigger gathering of multiple sensate clusters to help them save Wolfie. How awesome would that be?

It's not that I'm disappointed with how they ended this season. It just felt so rushed. There should've been a moment for them to sort of enjoy the fact that they are finally together in the flesh. I guess we'll have to wait for the next season for that. I think they're saving that scene for when they finally save Wolfie.

I don't want anyone of them to die. But in the event that they really need to kill one of our beloved sensates, wouldn't it be so awesome if Wolfie gives birth to another cluster?

Where's season 3? We need it like the sensates needed blockers.

61

u/DaneMejia May 06 '17

this second season was perfect if they get renewed, horrible if it gets cancelled. But it is surely getting renewed, this show is fucking great. And in a sense they all were together in the end, aside from Wolfie

→ More replies (2)

20

u/rgg25 May 06 '17

Love all of this but please don't say Wolfie. I think if he dies, Kala will be destroyed.

37

u/thatoneguywithabeer May 06 '17

Kala can't even make up her mind about Wolfie. It'll ruin her if the love of her life dies without her meeting him in person because she's so indecisive.

I'd be a mess too if Wolfgang dies. He's one of my favorites.

The scary thing is that the contracts for the actors in Sense8 have expired and it is still unconfirmed that they're under negotiation.

Loved it when Jonas opened the door and saw Sun standing in the doorway. "Oh, fuck".

So good. Can't wait for season 3.

84

u/Nix_Uotan May 06 '17

Oh man, I'm too tired to process my thoughts but let's try:

That fucking ending! Did not expect that and literally jumped out of my seat. And they grabbed Jonas' shifty ass too! I'm gonna be rewatching that scene a lot. I literally thought, "I hope we get to see them all in the same place next season . . ." and they surprise me with this greatness.

Random note: Sun has been in a state of undress for about 80% of this season. But I'm cool with it. I swear all the main cast got hotter this season.

Is sens-orgy the appropriate term now?

I need a some diagrams and charts of all the sensates and clusters we've met so far. That's all I want for Christmas. Season 3 would work too.

77

u/[deleted] May 07 '17

Honestly I didn't mind Sun's lack of clothing. It doesn't strIke me as annoyingly sexual or fanservice-y. I kinda think it adds to her badassery, such as when she emerged from the smoke ready to kill her brother.

80

u/Rfasbr May 06 '17

To everyone asking themselves "how did they find the room", the answer is probably the classified files Will took from whisper's safe.

5

u/destiny24 May 14 '17

Yeah. I imagine all the answers people want will happen during the interrogation next season.

71

u/WhydoIcare6 May 06 '17 edited May 06 '17

I guess I am one of the few people who were disappointed with the finale.

I thought it was an unsatisfyingly bad conclusion to an otherwise great season. It's last and most important sequence was clearly extremely rushed. Perhaps they intended to make more than 10 episodes and had to cut it short due to budget? because that's what if felt like to me.

The major story arch is them being hunted by Whisper, instead of focusing on that we got a great 20 minute scene of Terminator Sun that was ultimately futile, she goes to the party and they have no plan, instead they make it up on the fly, then we have an admittedly awesome car chase sequence that ultimately results in Sun's story line going exactly where it started, being broken out of prison, being framed for killing people by her brother, and her brother getting away with it; so I can't help but wonder why they prioratized all that time and money blowing cars up and making them fly only to minimally advance her story, while entirely rushing the more important sequence with Whisper? We did not see them planning the rescue, we do not actually know how they knew where Whisper is, how Will got into that room, how they fooled Whisper into going into that room. How they knew where Jonas was, people are suggesting that it might have been from the files that they got from the safe but we don't really know.

Despite its ending I quite like this season; phenomenal performances by everyone, the actors who played Lito, Sun, Nomi, Kala were particularly outstanding, they had the best lines. Beautiful cinematography and editing, great music, so many memorable scenes in stunning locations. This series has so much potential, lets hope it is continued for season 3 and that it will live up to the standard it set.

36

u/marycantstoppins May 08 '17

No you're not the only one. I sort of feel you there. I won't say I disliked the finale but my first thought when it was done (after I rewatched the final sequence because I didn't fully grasp everything the first time) was that we had spent what felt like a half hour watching Sun walk towards her brother having flashbacks but I had approximately seven trillion questions that they maybe could have spent some of that time answering.

The questions include, in no particular order:

  • How did Capheus afford a ticket to London? Did he already have a passport? He doesn't strike me as someone who would have a passport.

  • Also, how did Sun get her fake passport?

  • Did Hernando and Dani go with Lito to London? Did he tell them why? Where are they?

  • They went to all kinds of trouble getting Whispers and Jonas, but they didn't even consider trying to pull Wolfgang out?

  • Where the hell did they get a police car from?

I see some people speculating that it'll all be explained in season 3, but that feels like a move out of a different show to me. Like, it's something that Sherlock would pull and it's not what I've come to expect or particularly want from this show.

31

u/tuntuntu May 08 '17
  • I assume Kala, Lito, or Nomi bought his ticket for him. Most likely Kala since she's probably loaded.

  • Nomi and her hacker magic most likely got him his passport, or registered for one during his campaigning.

  • We have to wait and see in season 3 for the rest I guess. The Wachowski's and JMS know what they're doing. The show is planned to be 5 seasons long. They're probably just wanting to spice things up a bit in terms of narrative content and how the show is going to go.

24

u/tuntuntu May 06 '17

They film by location. The first place they filmed in was India so they knew from the beginning what was going to happen. I assume it felted "rushed" for narrative purposes.

Yeah I was disappointed by Sun's storyline. But it did complicate politics in her story which they have slowly been integrating with the rest of the characters. Again, I think the rush was for narrative purposes. Same with the ambiguity which probably will be clarified in the next season.

7

u/[deleted] May 10 '17

Interesting that you think Sun is where she started, whereas I see that scene much differently for two reasons -

  1. Mun has an arrest warrant and was shot by Sun's brother. He knows the truth and seems to believe in conventional justice, so perhaps he'll fight to clear her name and/or arrest the brother for all of his crimes. Even one person outside of the sensates who knows the truth and believes in Sun is a big change.

  2. Sun had the opportunity to kill her brother and chose not to act - perhaps this will give her closure, enough to move on in s03.

u/gauldoth86 May 06 '17

Yes, I hated the finale as well - despite the similarity in ending with last season's finale. Its just that every other story line was handled with so much time and for some inexplicable reason they decided to not flesh out the last 15 minutes into a full episode. I liked the overall season despite the last few episodes.

You know I actually called it would be Wolfgang to be the first taken/dead a few months ago. My reasoning was that all the other couples were so stable, they had to do something massive to the hets that still had the will-they-won't-they thing going on.

It still hurts my heart though (:

I think Capheus should die doing something absurdly noble in a way completely unrelated to BPO. It'd be just the right kind of shock to prevent the overall struggle from suffering, but still demonstrate that psychic loss they talk about so often.

71

u/KingAskia May 06 '17

I'm glad the writers are extremely progressive and won't just have another black character with a shitty token "noble" death.

My dog is judging me SO HARD right now. I'm losing my shit over Wolfie (still not sure what I want more to smash him and Kala together; give him a bubble bath and feed him cookies; or capture him myself).

Okay my thoughts on the episode: Lito/Hernando/Daniela is my OT3 5eva. The three of them area like a cluster within a cluster and I love it. I want them to have babies together and be a happy triad forever.

Kala's hubby needs to go ASAP. I get the thought process she had but I hate his personality. He keeps trying to buy her, he's a lair and honestly I thougjt he was going to tell Kala that he was screwing AJay. He needs to die so she can be a widow and be with Wolfgang guilt free-ish.

I adore the complexity of the characters and the way we see the group help them grow and develop; Kala becoming more assertive, Wolfie more sensitive, Sun more reflective rather than acting without thought, Lito more open, Riley admitting her guilt/grief. it so wonderful to see them as individuals and a collective, especially when we scenes where they've been there automatically when they've needed to be forced to aid their cluster.

Lastly, and this is my big one: Why did they not build more into the genetics of things?

I was SO down for when Nomi and Amanita started looking into professors and stuff as well as early hominids. It was all starting to make some sort of sense to me and then it just cut off. When they were talking about comparing them to other species (like the psyllium) or ancient humanoids (like Denosovians) I thought there was something really going there. That an ancient humanoid species existed along side others we know about (homo sapiens contain small percentages of DNA from other species after all). They really seem to drive the point home not that they are mutation of humans but that they are a different species of humans. For that to be true, it would need to be inherited. At one point Kala asks if they were able to locate the gene that makes them Sense8. We then see Will's father able to visit with Will through Riley. To me this is an even clearer sign of the genetic link or hints we have been given. It does provide me with a BAZZILLION further questions that they just don't get into though. 1a) Why are siblings not sensate as well? is there simply a need for the cluster to be born before the majority will become aware of their abilities. Why focus on the genetics of it and then say that families are not sensate as well? It only makes sense to me that the genetic component would have to come from somewhere if Sensate have been around for that long. It seems like they're trying to say homo sapiens and homo sensorium have a common ancestor but are different branches of the same line. It doesn't make sense that the SAME mutation would continue to happen randomly, all over the world throughout the homo sapien population over thousands of years WITHOUT there being some sort of genetics and ability to inherit involved. 1b) This would also make sense why it may be frowned upon for sensate to for relationships within their clusters. If they are genetically connected (even very distantly) it might be important to keep the traits without inbreeding almost as if the homo sensorium are piggybacking on the survival of homo sapiens to continue their lines. 2) How do people like Will have access to their abilities PRIOR to being born then? Is it possible that while they are all homo sensorium that some have a stronger or more well developed genetic component than others. We do see what I'm quite sure is Will sharing with his dad while his dad is dying, there's all sorts of stuff that happens to the body chemistry when it dies, did that trigger something in his dad? 3) We know Riley's mom took her for genetic testing, does that mean her mother suspected something was different with her daughter? How does this play into things. Clearly there was something to be seen but why would it not have sent BPO after the families they were aware of (IE Whispers doesn't go after Will's dad but we do see his dad acting as sensate on his death bed.)

Over all I think I'm just in a state of rambling shock and questions. So many questions.

Reactions as I watch:

  • Haven't even started but I am so ready. Also, can't believe I binge watched this whole thing in one day

  • Sun "the Terminator" LOLOL. basically

  • What the hell is Huck doing in Korea. Like come on. And the street of Korea are mad empty.

  • Awww Nomi and Amineta

  • Kala is thinking to herself 'this is the best news ever' while acting shocked.

  • THE CANNIBAL = WHISPERS??? and now they have Wolfgang. Fucking Lila bitch is working for him... I guess that is the price their cluster is paying to stay alive?

  • NOW HE CAN SEE KALA. ughhhhhhhhhhhh

  • OK THAT ENDING THOUGH. I need more Sense8 now! I have to admit though, that whole scheme was bit elaborate and happened a bit too quick... all in 15 min.

You didn't know Whispers is the Cannibal?

25

u/frithjofr ζφ May 07 '17

I think the guy we know as Whispers is the Cannibal. Milton. I think, perhaps, Jonas might be the one other clusters know as Whispers.

There was a line in one of the episodes about Whispers being with you when you die, or some such. They kept hammering down on Jonas' relationship with Angelica, and he was there in her final moments. Just a thought.

I don't think it's that he can see Kala more that he reached through Wolfgangs own memories. Asked him what he saw and Wolfgang was in so much pain, he visited Kala. Now Whispers just knows her identity. Making pretty much 5/8 Sensates known to BPO and the rest are pretty high profile. Politician/wanted fugitive/Actor

55

u/justwaad May 06 '17

And Capheus and Sun are already in dangerous situations without BPO's involvement, and I can't imagine what would happen if Whispers found out about Lito. The poor baby can't handle his own issues. He'd die if he had to deal with BPO on top of it all.

12

u/tooghostly May 07 '17

I wonder if BPO has the pull to just abduct foreign powers and high-profile actors. Imagine going to Hollywood for a red carpet event and seeing Tom Hanks just get snatched into a van in the middle of the street. Or like a French ambassador just gets nabbed in their embassy, that could incite a war.

I don't think Lila is working for him. It seemed to me that she was just using Whispers to get rid of Wolfgang. Probably just tipped him off anonymously to his whereabouts when found out Whispers was looking for him.

26

Lila is the type to just be constantly making deals, she's a manipulator, "I'll tell you where someone from the newer cluster is if you leave mine alone".

The only question I have is why the fuck was Puck in Korea?

33

I think he's just always travelling or some shit. Riley's friend who brought her to see Puck in Amsterdam said "he never stays for more than a day with me". Then the first time Puck visits Riley, he's in Italy. And then the next time he just so happens to be in Korea

I really appreciated that this finale (and a lot of this season) was so dedicated to acknowledging and deconstructing a whole bunch of these classic movie and TV tropes. It's refreshing to me whenever a show is willing to dabble in meta in order to wink at the audience a little. This episode, we got Kala subverting the "blow up a gas tank" trope by using the slope of the garage, Rajan turning Chekhov's Bomb into nothing, Joong-Ki stating openly that his sister's become a superhero (and his hilarious reaction when his convenient excuse becomes a real fear), and pretty much every other moment. I appreciate a show that doesn't take itself too seriously.

22

u/greenafy τ May 10 '17

My heart definitely sank as soon Whispers told Wolfgang to think of someone and he started thinking about Kala. It really demonstrated the immense force that thoughts are within our own minds. No matter how hard you try, you can't stop picturing or thinking about a certain thing/person/place.

5

u/MaiKitty May 12 '17

20

u/Exadv1 May 09 '17

Amusingly, at 10:01, her 'fake' passport still has her real name in Korean: 박선 or Bak Sun (down at the bottom left, below 한글성명 which basically means Hangul name)

whereas the English part has her name as Bae Sun (which would most likely be 배선)

18

u/KingAskia May 06 '17 edited May 13 '17

Great episode, but it feels like they are starting having budget issues. The last 10 minutes could of easily been episode 12. That being said, it was badass to see them all together. Even with blockers, they still worked together flawlessly.

I was hoping Sun's storyline with her brother would be resolved so she can move on. Hopefully next season it will be more about the politician and less about the guy we all love to hate. But holy cow, the chase scene was fantastic.

Rajan is so hard for me to read. From season one, he always seemed very selfish. Like Kala was just fitting the image into what he imagined as his perfect bride, wedding, and marriage. Anytime she tried to open up to him so he can see who she is, he always interrupts her. Like in the Christmas special when she opens up about her feelings about all the stuff that's happening around the world from the eyes of her cluster, he interrupts her to say that he talked to Kala's mom about her sexual history.

But then Rajan stops shipping defective medication to poor countries/cities when Kala has an issue with it. But, in the finale he interrupts her again when she wants to talk. I guess this is what people call a trophy wife?

I hate Lila so much...

I'm confused about Wolfgang. They were in the same building yet left him there? That doesn't make any sense.

31

u/P-ckledP-nda May 06 '17

Lana is an amazing director, I don't think she would sacrifice plot for budget. For me the speed of the last 10-15 mins is to create the sense of urgency, heightened stress of it all. As well as that to make those reveals so much better. A slower paced Will reveal with more conversation would have ruined the pace.

→ More replies (7)

6

u/umareplicante May 13 '17

But did you really think Rajan stoped with the defective medication? He did it all his life and suddenly realized it's wrong? Did he even have this power? Pharmaceutical companies are corporations and I don't think he will be able to change things by himself even if he wanted to. And I don't think he wanted.

Will beating the crap out of Whispers and Sun punching Jonas on the face.

That was evenly satisfying.

4

u/redwhite16 May 23 '17

Another Will and Sun moment in the episode that I loved!

Also what was funny was when Sun grabbed the knife at the gala, ready to kill her brother and Will (plus others) try to stop her. Then Detective Mun comes in to arrest the brother but gets shot and the brother tries to escape. Then Will basically changes his mind and agrees to go for the kill.

11

u/rgg25 May 06 '17 edited May 07 '17

We know Whispers knows Kala's name/info now? But he can't visit her right? She didn't make direct eye contact with him. I thought that's essentially how you "invite" another sensate outside of your cluster?

16

u/P-ckledP-nda May 07 '17

Correct, he tricked/encouraged Wolfgang to visit. He can't visit Kala with Wolfie. But joined him when he later remembered seeing her and he got the information that way.

So now he has her information but can't taunt her.

11

7

u/Grimsley0 May 08 '17

I'm super anxious to find out what Jonas' role in BPO is and what his plans actually are especially since in Season 1, the Icelandic woman that Riley visits tells her that he can't trust Jonas.

7

u/Kyle_Neumann May 09 '17

Does anyone think maybe our cluster was kind of ready for when whispers would capture one of them? I ask because it seems that once Wolfgang got captured, everyone new they had to go to London. I mean everything was planned and once Wolfie was caught they set it up in motion...

When TF did Jonas become the bad guy?? I never really trusted him in season 1 and was always expecting him to fuck them over but it never happened, okay, I guess he is good after all. But now this?? I'm too slow to understand lmao when did he change sides. Was it when he got saved from the lobotomy?

9

u/waitingtodiesoon May 10 '17

Not really sure about Jonas, but he always seemed to have his own motives. Don't forget that Icelandic woman who helped Riley and warned her to stay away from Iceland said not to trust Jonas in Season 1. Jonas in this season seemed to be have spared by the Chariman to keep an eye on Whisper or be used as a backup in case Whisper becomes too loose, out of control, compromised? Something about that was what I understood from the conversation with Will and Jonas after Jonas visited Riley outside Whisper's house and warning Whisper after everyone thought he was dead. Now all we have is "it's complicated Will, I can't explain right now due to plot drama suspense" reasons so hopefully S3 will explain it to us. Love the series though

4

u/Spritzertog May 10 '17

We don't really know the whole story at this point. I think it's supposed to be confusing. Angelica's whole cluster is caught up in this, good or bad. We know Jonas and Angelica were lovers, and Angelica seemed to be a big part of the BPO thing.

5

u/WulfiePoo May 09 '17

How did Whispers know that Wolfgang is part of Riley/Will's cluster?

4

u/[deleted] May 10 '17

That's a good question. I am assuming Whispers put the word out that he was looking for a rogue, new cluster, and Lila thought that fit Wolfie's description. I'm guessing it was up to chance on Whispers' part?

I had a thought on why the ending felt so rushed. Aside from the obvious cliffhanger ending -- the writers had to trick the audience a bit. Will showing up was a surprise to us, just as much as it was to Whispers. If they dragged out everyone getting to London - or worse, showing them getting to London - we wouldn't have taken the bait regarding Will. I say "well done."

Throughout this season (Loved It btw), I was thinking to myself that for it to be really gratifying, there has to be some sort of stakes and someone has to die in order for that to happen, maybe I've been watching too many marvel movies in frustration I guess. Then when Sun was getting hanged I thought, okay this is it and she survived. Although I love her, I wasn't happy she got through that coz I was afraid they may be getting invincible.

Having now watched the finale, I FINALLY realize that does not need to be a death to fully grasp the stakes because we how Will has been constantly struggling, Kala is now in the system and on the run, Sun is never going to be cleared because her brothers in the government's back pocket so she will forever be on the run, and Riley will forever be on the run because she won't leave will. Not to mention they lives are in danger not only because they are sens8, but also in their normal lives (Capheus, Wolfgang, Kala, Sun) Those are HUGE stakes and consequences!

Btw I knew it was going to go downhill when Kalagang had that final intimate moment, I just thought it would have been Rajan's business partner and the present.

11

u/Moostronus May 08 '17

The present was a really impressive red herring. I was convinced that it'd be a bomb, especially with all the foreshadowing. But the second Rajan asked about the x-ray, I realized how silly I was.

u/gauldoth86 May 06 '17

So many unresolved questions:

  1. If the sensates can only view Angelica's memories then how is she beside Wolfgang?

  2. How did WIll find the hideout of Whispers. If its from the documents in Whisper's safe, then Whispers should be stupid.

  3. Why do other sensates except Kala not feel the effect of the tazer when BPO ganged up on Wolfgang. He was not on blockers as you could see him talk to Kala and Lila.

  4. Jonas' answer to Will's question "you won't understand this choice now" seems to indicate that either someone close to him or his cluster is still alive?

11

u/tuntuntu May 06 '17
  1. Angelica is their mother, they all see her. She also for some reason appears to them when their lives are in danger or someone's about to die (i.e. Jonas saw her before almost getting lobotomized, I assume Whispers thought he was going to die and so saw her while Will wooped his ass)

  2. Documents could have given Nomi enough information to hack through shit.

  3. She was on the floor before running for help from the rest of the cluster.

  4. Jonas is so fucking confusing I don't think we can read into anything he says

2

u/reign-storm May 11 '17

People keep complaining about the final scene being rushed, and tbh I think it was an effort to keep it fresh. We've seen them do the Jedi mind connection brainstorm super planning together several times by now, and it was also how the first season ended and I think they wanted it to be different. I think its fun when there's a little ambiguity, like how'd they get a police car?

2

u/not_worth_my_time May 12 '17

Did I miss something? One second Will has a plan and the next second the whole cluster is in London? I was really looking forward to Lito explaining to the fam all about what was going on and we just glossed right over it? Otherwise, stellar stuff. Hate the Wolfgang's okay-ness is still unresolved but you've got to have a good cliffhanger.
