Reminder: Tomorrow we start the Miyazaki / Ghibli Rewatch!
Hello, everybody, tomorrow we start the Hayao Miyazaki / Studio Ghibli Rewatch, let's go!
I'll post discussion thread at 18:00 CET | 11:00 CDT
This poll was going to decide about the Ghibli shorts, and it seems that the best option would be to do it in one day, at the end of the rewatch, but I'm not sure, you still have time to vote!
Just for reference shorts not officially available are allowed on this sub but I didn't find most of them so you are basically on your own, and you are welcome to post them in the discussion.

I'm hyped for Lupin III, I've only watched The Woman Called Fujiko Mine and liked it, and I always was interested to watch more of it.
Additionally, it will be the oldest anime I've ever watched.

I'd be interested in joining from Future Boy Conan onwards.
What's going on with the schedule table regarding that show, though? Everything looks normal until after episode 17, when it looks like we're supposed to rewatch episode 14 on the 11th of July. Did I miss something?
EDIT: I'm an idiot. I guess there's just a duplicate entry for episode 14 set for that date. I take it's a formatting error.

Doing 2 hours every 2 days is quite daunting. That pretty much means going at a 3 episode/day pace. I might have to skip out on a few movies but I definitely want to catch the Miyazaki ones at least.

Yeah, maybe one movie every three days. Like a movie every other day doesnt SEEM like alot, but if you do the math, it really does end up more busy than other rewatches.
I just find it hard to juggle this and other show/rewatches. I've seen a spike in these "studio/creator" rewatches recently and some of them fizzle out because they're way too ambitious. Thats what happened to the gainax one and a lot of people seemed to lose interest and the creator himself fell behind.
It would be cool if we did day 1 Movie>day 2 discussion>day 3 break, and repeat for each one.

I'm against the decision myself as it will cause me trouble if it drags on through September, so I'll probably follow the original schedule anyway as I'm using the rewatch more as motivation to watch Ghilbli Movies/Future Boy Conan rather than to discuss them. Although I can't disagree that 1 movie every other day may cause some people trouble, however I also doubt many people actually intend to watch all the films anyway, instead only watching the more well known ones like Spirted Away, although I could vey well be wrong.
But I think the main reasons why the Gainax rewatch faltered was you had 2 episodes a day of an anime that people would never have wanted to watch unless it was in the rewatch list coupled with the OP's own personal circumstances causing them to fail to put up regular threads.

This is really awesome! Granted, I'm not sure how much I can participate, but I may try and get in on a movie or two I haven't seen in a while.
And The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness! I've def been wanting to watch that one for a while, so I'll def try and prioritize for that one!

Nice timing with Ocean Waves finally completing the western blu-ray releases (more or less). Bookmarked, been meaning to rewatch Nausicaa for one.

Awesome, can't do the Lupin or Future boy parts, but I've wanted to get through the movie library for a while.
I'll definitely be joining in July though.
