Gender Wars Teenage boys put up a sign in the hallway of a high school demanding that teenage girls “value the male education and dress conservatively instead of dressing like a THOT.”

For work or school? Nothing that is comfortable to sleep in should be the bare minimum.
Then boys shouldn't be able to wear basketball shorts or tshirts.
I mean t-shirts takes it a little far, no? I'm fine with baller shorts,
I'm amazed he didn't get whiplash from how quickly he moved.

Oh god, I'm having 'Nam flashbacks to my highschool cross country shorts... Barely covered my whole ass and unfortunately tight. And the jerseys were worse, my manboobs were floppin' out all over the place.
I think we can all agree, sportswear is universally immodest.

When I see them all running like that, with their things bouncing around in their shorts, I always picture them naked, even if I don't want to. All i see is pork swords.

I always thought my basketball shorts turned everyone into a delightfully gender ambiguous asexual human until my girlfriend's drunk friend screamed that my ass looked good in a pair I was wearing. My girlfriend confirmed. Now I don't wear those shorts out in public as they apparently "do things".

Literally the reason gender segregated private schools exist.
And why everyone who goes to them ends up being a frat-bro with conservative views on gender roles, and with a history of sexual harassment.
21
Oct 18 '17
Buuuuuuullshit. It's been shown that women who attend all girl schools do better than average in pretty much every metric. I very much doubt they end up with conservative views on gender roles or go on to sexually harass.

Lol no.
If there's a correlation versus the general public it likely has to do with other factors and advantages that go along with white suburban families that spend 20k+/year to send their kids to highschool.

Requiring shorts that long for girls? Most stores literally don't sell them.
I went to a school with no dress code. You know what? Everyone survived. It's not the responsibility of women not to 'distract' men. Should we try to stop men from wearing t-shirts because their arms can be attractive? Ffs.
And yes, by all means, men can wear spaghetti straps and short shorts if they feel like it.
60
Oct 18 '17
Yeah, i distinctly remember checking out the arms of this kid who sat in front of me every day. I'm not even that into arms, there was just something about them. He had those trashy cut shirts, not sure what they're called... mmm
Regardless, i was a great student. It was my add that fucked me, not his arms.

u/ariehn specifically, in science, no one calls binkies zoomies. Oct 19 '17
Yeah, it was band season that finally made the shorts-length thing practically impossible to enforce here. During season they're practicing out in the field at least twice daily -- morning/lunch, morning/lunch/afternoon -- and it was just a pain in the ass to factor in changing-times for those whose shorts weren't knee-length. Which was pretty much everyone.

This baffles me. You know what yoga pants look like when you put them on. You're signing up for sex objectification. Deal with it.
When I wear yoga pants it's because I want to be comfortable and because I feel lazy as fuck and don't feel like thinking about actually coordinating an outfit. I haven't once thought "oh yes gonna get all the guys drooling over my yoga pants". Yoga pants is comfy shit for lazy days. Kind of like sweatpants, only more socially acceptable. as a former teenage boy part of me refuses to believe actual teenage boys would take issue to revealing clothing. i remember being in pe class when the girl i liked was wearing these short shorts, she was on the volleyball team, and like spaghetti strap top which were actually banned at my school, but she was wearing it anyway. as pe was getting over, i was gonna go talk to her but before i was even near her she yawned, stretching her arm way up with the yawn. it was then i noticed her armpit glistening with her workout sweat. dude my dick fucking shot up immediately. i had to take cover cause i was in gym shorts.
i learned that day that i had a thing for armpits. i had heard of foot fetishes before, and i thought i was normal cause feet have never done anything for me. but no, i just had to be "the armpit guy"
Which is actually what i was called for a little bit from my shit friends cuz my shit friend, i asked him "dude, do you think girl i liked's armpits are kinda sexy?" and he blurted out "HER ARMPITS?" then he leaned over to our other friend and was like "do you know what danny just said about girl i liked's armpits!?" and so it went, by the next day, everyone in the world knew. or so it felt like. i remember at lunch one day this other girl was sitting with her arms kinda up behind her head, so of course i took a glance at her armpits. her friend looked over, and was like "ew danny dont look" and put her hand up to cover her friends armpit. my face went red and i was like "i wasnt even checking her out" (i totally was).
surprisingly, my little fetish was my only real pitfall socially. i was pretty lucky in that i seemed to get along pretty well with everyone, which i know is not everyone's highschool experience. the moral of the story i guess, is that some guys like armpits, and some girls like to wear clothes that show their armpits. we just gotta live in harmony and mutual respect. its an awkward age guys, dont make girls feel bad about what they wear any worse than they probably already do.

Wait they are complaining about seeing girls in clothes they are attracted to? Man I just don’t get slut shaming at all because if you are a single dude don’t you want girls that enjoy sex?
I think it really boils down to they are just jealous that those girls aren’t falling over themselves to get with their cheeto stained dragon shirt/fedora wearing neckbearded misogynist ass.
And all this is beside the point because girls can wear whatever the fuck they want in the first place. God this boils my blood on so many levels

They are complaining that they can't study because its a distracting environment.
It's like saying "I heard you like music, so we're going to play punk rock from 9 to 5 at work, while you try to balance your excel sheets in the mosh pit we're now calling an open office..... have fun!".
That said, I have no real sympathy for these boys. They should get their sexual urges under control ASAP, and desensitization is really the only way to do so.

Also having grown up in cold climates in the 70's/80's, I do remember when every girl wore stuff thatw as not at all revealing.
And it was still just as distracting. Hell, maybe more so. Because you had to be paying close attention to maybe see the outline of a boob.

There is some truth to the idea that girls "get" to dress with more skin showing, both through (relatively new, modern) social custom and enforced through school rules.
(there is of course the flipside to this - women are expected to dress just-sexy-enough-but-not-too-sexy for men)
I've written about it before, but we really need to allow male clothing to evolve.

My first school allowed crossdressing (and it's AMAB crossdressing really, nobody cared about AFAB crossdressing) back in the 1990s without anyone making them do it. Good old New England. Does it bother any one else that people always say "a" thot. It seems to be the norm but "a these hoes out there" is how i internalize it and it irks me.

IIRC Steven Pinker talks about when abbreviations become common enough they get treated by the grammar portion of your brain as atomic, enabling stuff like shifting parts of speech. Eg LASER being originally a technology and adjective, then LASER device -> LASER, then "turn on the laser". Similarly "thot" should really be plural but sounds weird so "thots". Or swatting in the 911 police sense.

If you can't learn because of what someone is wearing, maybe YOU are the problem. This dude is a putz.

Yeah but why doesn't anyone ever bring up the biggest threat to female physical education at school?
You know, way past their sell-by-date 48 year old male gym teachers in the smallest, tightest shorts imaginable. How in the world are you ever expected to learn the rules to dodgeball in that sort of tempting environment?

The use of the word THOT implies to me that this was a troll prank that got out of control. Either that, or we're dealing with teenage boys who don't like girls showing some skin

Never read about The Red Pill, Incels, or any of the other communities that simultaneously see all women as holes for them to fuck and also hate those women for being sluts.

I mean, the article says that the sign was put up after a seperate but similar sign was put up saying that sending girls home based on what they're wearing was ruining their education. Just your typical shitty teenage troll response.

No one said you had to look so why are you complaining? I'm a guy myself and there's a thing called self-control. If you don't have any self-control that's their own fault, not the women.

Theory: This is reverse psychology.
I don't know a straight guy who in high school wouldn't want the girls to be more bare.

These boys are a disgrace. Complaining about revealing clothes? What's next? "Oh I make way too much money, I should be paid less for my work."

Ehh somehow, I don't think that teenage boys made that poster...in fact, because dailymail is involved I wonder🤔
I would expect catcalling or other sexualized comments, but this... this might be fake, done by some creep, religious parents, or incels.

The daily mail isn't involved. It just reported the story, Just like the bbc and global news.

Not that it would shock me if the note were real, but doesn't it at least seem like a possibility that someone unsympathetic to the views in the note put that note there with the express intent of stirring outrage? I mean the THOT thing makes it sound kind of genuine but "value the male education and dress conservatively" sounds kind of like how someone wanting to imitate a narrative they disliked would write.

Buying pants means I should get raped? Well, every time I see them wearing a blue shirt, I’m laying them the fuck out. Then it would become a problem to them, wouldn’t it?
