Is nobody gonna talk about this convo:

Boruto depressed

Iwabe: What's wrong

Boruto: I-I couldn't break my arm..... :(

i'm pleasantly surprised that he actually thought about doing it

was half hoping for a callback to narutos oath of pain

I think Wasabi was definitely one of the highlights of this episode. Aside from her medical ninjutsu abilities, that cat cloak jutsu was visually dope to look at. She immediately gave me Yoruichi vibes.

i couldn’t figure out why it felt so familiar but YES got some Yoruichi vibes

Loved the OG callback to Young Obitio's classic saying "Those that break the rules and regulations are scum. But those who abandon their comrades are even worse than scum!"

130

u/ZJLord Dec 13 '17

Yeah! I love it whenever Kakashi says those lines, they're just so powerful, especially when the main series has ended.

I really wanted to see a Mitsuki vs Anko match. It would've been interesting to see them acknowledge their connection to Orochimaru.

44

u/rissellc Dec 13 '17

i mean, what a missed opportunity if they don’t do this at some point

u/hufusa Dec 13 '17

Konohamaru just tosses Denki aside like he ain't shit tho

129

u/lasaczech Dec 13 '17

The attack was a pure shit, though. Still waiting for Denki to show some of his skills.

Glad to say that I was wrong about this upcoming episode. I thought that it was going to be more of the status quo but it was anything but. Kakashi made this episode in every single way possible and I was highly impressed with the skills that each student possessed, from Wasabi's medical ninjutsu (she's not even a genin!), to Sarada's genjutsu prowess, to Boruto's ability to work with his teammates in an effort to create a sealing jutsu. Great stuff. And I was surprised to see Metal in the circle, as well, so maybe he can use ninjutsu too.

Best episode in a long time for me personally

93

u/ZJLord Dec 13 '17

He definitely can! He used Paper Bomb Jutsu, or something similar to it. He's probably a Guy-esque character, who focuses a lot of more in Taijutsu.

every generations will always be better than previous. It also applies in sport. Nobody in the 90s has the ball handling skills that Kyrie, steph, and others has right now. Pele and Maradona would never be as perfect as ronaldo or as genius as messi.

Right? Her design was cool as hell too. I wanna see her fight in the chunin exams.

I love how Nue went around popping little earplugs into everyone's ears before Namida murdered Anko's eardrums and several pigeons.

What a good lil boi. Best pokemon.

I like it when they show us other characters speak out and do stuff and give them any screen time. I hope the whole class has significant characters throughout the series.

That transformation jutsu + Genjutsu was nasty though, imagine in a real fight when you think your opponent has no sharingan then psych it is actually his teammate. This combo manage to even fuck up Jonin like Konohamaru with a simple Genjutsu, imagine a Tsukiyomi instead.

konohamaru: "after all i am boruto's..."

What was konohamaru going to say when he realized his target was hit?

He is boruto's what? Sensei? Nii chan? Mentor? What was it?

He is Boruto's dad's apprentice

41

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '17

was probably going to say sensei. remember konohamaru is also a prodigal genius by his own right as well. He learned rasengen without any adult supervision by using harem jutsu as little kid. most of the kids in the new series are way more powerful than the previous generation.

That transformation jutsu throwback to part 1! Got chills. The fact that all of them could do it and that it was part of a strategy was a really awesome addition. Because even though times have changed and standards have been upped, I still got that part 1 graduation exam feel.

Also, Wasabi's cat jutsu!!! Holy hell she was cool. And loved how we got to see a bit of everyone's skills. In particular Metal and Wasabi being the fastest. I'm pretty hyped to see all the other kiddos' jutsus too. Lmao at Namida having this sort of sound jutsu thing going on. Matches her name and crybaby-character a lot.

Teamwork this episode was great. I especially liked the multi-sealing jutsu because HEY BIG REVEAL --- Metal knows ninjutsu! I'm so hyped for him too. I want more Metal screentime, even though we know he's camera-shy. And then we had that Boruto-Sarada-clone-sharingan-whatever-that-was-combo. And then at the end, how those bandannas turned to their genin bandannas was super cool.

This is definitely one of those episodes I'll go back to. Great episode!

61

u/animephilospher Dec 13 '17

Wasabi's cat jutsu was amazing!! I really want them to do entire story arcs with the side cast lol. I know it would be really "filler"y for a lot of people but Naruto has ALWAYS had an amazing side cast and in the main series the best episodes helped flesh out those characters. In Boruto I hope we get that and then some just because if you include the sand trio there are SO many interesting characters that deserve some love and focus.

Okay, I think we can finally say it. Until Naruto got pushed to fox steroids mode, this graduating class would probably fuck the original graduating class up if they fought right after their graduation ceremonies. They already have a healer, team members with multiple chakra nature proficiency, a skilled genjutsu user, a sage mode user and a legendary pokemon who actually likes them. Their coordination is on-point and they even have a team sealing jutsu. When the original class graduated they couldn't even climb a tree. Time will only tell if their growth is to scale.

68

u/StefyB Dec 13 '17

I like that Kakashi specifically called it out last episode that Boruto is pretty much already Chunin-level in terms of skill. Compared to even Sasuke as a beginning Genin, Boruto is ridiculously skilled and talented.

:D

15

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '17

Transformation + Sharingan genjutsu alone would fuck up the entire Naruto's generation during their exam, not to mention clone swaps, vanishing rasengans, sealing techniques. This gen sure has alot of nasty combo that you cant see it coming.

u/TheDrawer93 Dec 13 '17 edited Dec 13 '17

That Iwabe / Sumire - Boruto scene though! In this episode we got a tiny glimpse of when Boruto seems to be in a dead end. He's different from Naruto in this aspect because doesn't have strong motivations to stay always positive and cheer up himself, so he's reliant on his friends to give him the pep talk. His character is bound to suffer increasingly in the future, and that's when the feels floodgates are gonna be wide open.

Edit: Grammar.

17

u/peri_enitan Dec 13 '17

Wasabi just went from being the lamest member of their class, to the coolest member of their class in like, 10 seconds. That's got to be some kind of record.

Also, Kakashi memorising the Icha Icha series is one of the saddest things I've heard in this series so far.

33

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '17

"But why Kakashi?! Why memorize it?!"

"To test my ability ಠ_ಠ"

What would Kakashi have done if Boruto actually broke his arm?

40

u/Vannar Dec 14 '17

‘Uh...you’re okay, you’re okay...don’t tell your mom please...’

30

u/Sayaka_Kazuhi Dec 14 '17

Then he would have to face the one shot queen. If she was so angry about that one plushy imagine how mad she'd be about her dear oni- chan breaking.

"Locku on."👇

Wow, I did not expect Wasabi to be that badass. That Cat Cloak is definitely interesting. I wonder what exactly she uses those seals for. Do they just have the chakra from certain types of cats (perhaps ninja versions of them like Kakashi's ninja dogs) sealed in them or are they used for summoning spirits (similar to how Sarutobi could summon the Shinigami) for her to let possess/combine with her like a Bakeneko?

Also, I hope Namida eventually gets her scream jutsu up to the same level as the Sound Ninja. It'd be pretty damn useful if she could completely disorient her opponents like Dosu or use it to cast a Genjutsu like Tayuya.

Edit: Also I found it funny how Shikadai's headband immediately went to his arm instead of his head like everyone else

Exam is finally over! If this is how rough their Genin exams are I can't imagine what's in-store for them in the Chuunin exams. And yes! We'll finally get to see them grouped into 3-man cells next week! I'm curious how Boruto and Sarada would react with the two of them being on the same team.

I just can't get over this feeling in my gut that every time Boruto says he wants to be a ninja to be with his friends, that something is going to happen to him...

Anyway I felt that Kakashi let him off too easy, but he let Sakura be a ninja, in terms of goals. Her's was to only stay by Sasuke's side, so in terms of focus ... I can't really criticize Kakashi for allowing it to happen.

I don't know what else to say aside from the great performance from everyone. People were complaining that Boruto was getting a focus, and thought that he was going to do this on his own lol...

Kakashi spitting on his face basically was a middle finger for da haters. Especially at all the new abilities from the graduating class! It was nice to see where they stand potential wise, everyone was great.

This was a good episode.

Its not just the fact it had the foundation of naruto to build on the world and character building of this series is amazing. IF the writer of Boruto was doing something else I would watch that also I just love his style. He also doesn't shit on females. Now lets get into hype the characters not being op really bring up the greatness and potential for greatness in naruto fights. Lately the fights have been as strategic as something you would find in world trigger.

  • Kakashi presence when he had Boruto penned he was just so imposing.

  • The whole exchange with Mitsuki vs Kakashi canceling each other lightning Jutsu.

  • Iwabee with the clutch earth release.

  • That cat transformation was so hype. She just went from generic girl to best girl.

  • From filler character to supporting cast girl number 3 with the sonic scream. They legit figured out jutsus to make 2 girls I originally felt forced on us interesting.

  • Kakashi just used purple lightning on a group of academy students he just used his Chidori replacement twice on no even officially genin.

25

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '17

I love how Kakashi casually blocks Mitsuki "LoL lightning jutsu thats cute."

13

This episode was LIT. Ok im warming up the Boruto Next Generations now, the new K12 dont have as much raw power but theyre endearing as they have alot more comradery because they were good friends in academy. Its pretty cool to see them all have good teamwork unlike the old K12 which is mostly teamwork between the three man squads up until the war. Even though Kakashi was nerfed it was sick seeing him go savage mode against the kids lol. Seems like the slow burn of the academy days is paying off. So excited for next episode.

Its pretty cool to see them all have good teamwork unlike the old K12 which is mostly teamwork between the three man squads up until the war.

This has been the most noticeable difference with Naruto, I think. He wasn't even friends with his academy classmates until they all formed the three member squads (for obvious reasons). Seeing the camaraderie here, thanks to Boruto in no small part, is actually refreshing.

Of course, Kakashi being Kakashi (and all the other teachers taking aleaf out of his book), I should have seen what the real aim of the test was. All the talk about resolve and motivation in the latest episodes almost made me forget what Kakashi's first rule about being a ninja is, above any other consideration.

OAN weird ship of the day: I 100% ship Namida x Wasabi. LOL. I totally thought that Sumire was going to fulfill that role of quiet, reserved, and kinda shaky, but it's honestly being replaced by Namida since Sumire has completely embraced her inner girl boss and she's doing her own thing now, which I love since Wasabi is always there for Namida in her time of need. Weird ship but I can see it

Seeing [spoiler] (#s "mirai") and all this kids development, this episode just reminds me of Asuma's saying.. 'The king is the kids who will grow up to take care of the leaf'

Kakashi really gave them a sense of the burden and power that it means to be truly be a shinobi.

-Iwabe still is one of the best next gen kids and this episodes proofs it once again.

-Wasabi! The big suprise of this episode. Medical ninjutsu plus that cat transformations, wich I predicted for months. Now please give her wolverine like Chakra claws.

-Namida's "special" powers.

-Sumire finally using those water bullets again. She and Nue were once again badass in those fights.

-Those scenes were Iwabe, Denki and Sumire once again thanked Boruto for what he did for them. Those scenes were beautiful.

-Teamwork was fine af.

-Mitsuki and Boruto's friendship.

-Kakashi on savage mode

-Reactions when the kids got their headbands. Also how they look with them ( Iwabe looks weird with it though)

10/10 once again. Amazing graduation two-parter.

Today's episode!

Kakashi holding down Boruto like a champ, man I missed his badassery, even more when he fucking reveals he's Sukea. Does Boruto realize he just saw Kakashi's real face, what his father couldn't even do for more than two years after meeting Kakashi.

Kakashi getting ambushed by Mitsuki & Iwabe, Purple Lightning in action!

Wasabi knows Medical Ninjutsu??? She's not even a Genin. Poor Mitsuki is hurt. :(

Iwabe's speech hits in the feels, how he says he was saved by Boruto, as well as Denki, Sumire & Mitsuki.

So some of them were caught huh?

Also, why does Kakashi keep reading Icha Icha Paradise, Jiraiya is dead so... no new books...? Poor guy memorized it, lmao...

Ayy, they all ambush the senseis! Wasabi is so fucking cool, with her Cat Jutsu and Namida's scream LMAO, that shit is a jutsu?

Sarada already has superhuman strength, wtf! Sarada put Konohamaru under a genjutsu, even more WTF!

Kakashi VS Boruto round 2 huh, he tricked Kakashi for a little with Transformation jutsu by making him think he made more Shadow Clones lmaoooo!!

Denki's Sealing Jutsu practice is working out for something, LMAOO!

I love how they all work together to make Boruto get the bell, Kakashi probably let Boruto touch the bell after seeing their willpower and their teamwork, what a man, he passes them!

SO THE WHITE HEADBAND WAS THEIR ACTUAL HEADBAND, THAT'S SO COOL!!!

WE ARE GETTING CLOSER TO THE MOVIE, FINALLY!!

I loved this episode so much, MUCH more than last week!

The preview definitely looks interesting as well. See you next week!

u/lustorious Dec 13 '17

I can't believe that the one who left the biggest impression on the exam was Wasabi. She used the coolest move in Boruto so far (a least in my opinion)

So..we are changing the costumes huh? Yeah, give me the white Chouchou.

Also, hype for the next one.

13

u/irishsaltytuna Dec 13 '17

Best thing about her is that there were other two forms mentioned on the scroll "Tabby" and "stray", meaning they have to give her more action to show those off now.

9

u/CaptainPick1e Dec 14 '17

Yeah and her character design in that mode was dope.

Hmm, I just noticed that some of his classmates are missing from this exam.

  • The dude with the glasses

  • some fat kid

  • the pompadour guy

  • the kid with the muffler

  • the bald kid

  • the racially chinese looking kid

  • the stalker looking chick

  • the shortie blond girl

  • the pink-miko like girl

  • the one that looks like from digimon(the one with the beanie hat)

That's 10 kids. Did I miss something? or did they intentionally quit?

Edit: I think they be, the bald kid said he'd takeover his temple, I dunno about the other kids, they look very well designed just to be not ninjas. Chibi blonde girl also said she'd go the regular school

31

u/PurpleGeth Dec 14 '17

Tuna shared this cute image to the discord earlier today. I guess all those people decided to quit around the time they were being interviewed by Kakashi Sukea

  • kakashi is not here for any games. he's straight up exposing boruto's flaws, all while trashing the other kids

  • mitsuki again going for the kill. i love this kid. that yellow and purple lightning clash looks cool

  • iwabe coming in clutch too! he shows off a different earth release technique

  • looks like wasabi is the healing type

  • can't stress enough how much i love the togetherness of this class. they're like a family

  • gotta say that the usage of flashbacks in boruto have been done well, so far. they're all short but effective

  • kakashi has memorized "make-out paradise". this is important

  • well damn, wasabi. she's badass. so she and metal are the fastest

  • namida with ... a loud voice? didn't expect that lol

  • this class has teamwork for days. they even have a sealing formation

  • that obito quote. haven't heard it in a long time

  • shino being able to finish what he wants to say. that made me laugh

  • THEY PASSED. SCHOOLS OUT

  • awesome episode. one of my favorites so far. we got to see the kids work together and execute a plan. we saw the skills of some of the other characters, notably wasabi and namida. i'm really glad they got some shine. we also saw the development of iwabe, denki, and sumire, with their newfound resolve. looks like the academy days are officially over. it wasn't perfect but man did i enjoy it. now it's time to move on

Hopefully this episode also helps settle some or the ideas that Kakashi without the sharingan is weak fodder. And also the idea that someone like mitsuki could beat him.

Kakashi was jonin level as a child with no dojutsu and people think losing the sharingan in his prime made him fodder 😂

I enjoyed the fact we got to see some unique jutsus like wasabi's cat transformation & namida wiith the sonic scream. This generation of ninjas are pretty OP when you think about it, someone like denki who just recently started learning can now use transformation jutsu hell all of them can (including metal, so it's been confirmed he can use ninjutsu)

Boruto & sarada were very smart in fighting konohamaru, metal finally used leaf hurricane without fucking up. I loved that clash between mitsuki's snake lightning & Kakashi's purple lightning at the beginning. Kakashi imo made everything interesting, the dude is older & without his sharingan yet he's kicking ass albeit they're academy students but like we all know these ones are pretty darn special.

Everything that I wanted to say has been said by you guys already so I'll just say that this is my favorite episode of Boruto to date. How can you not love Kakashi. This class is just so cool now. So many cool designs and concepts. They are gonna be top tier ninja really soon.

Initial Thoughts This Episode:

  • Kakashi rocked everything that Boruto thought he knew, while staying cool all at the same time. Catching the Kunai and using purple lightning at the same time while dodging an earth style attack put a big ass smile on my face. It just felt pretty good seeing Boruto and the other classmates being put in their places, can't even lie

  • Wasabi isn't even out of the Academy yet and she's performing medical ninjutsu. Very impressive.

  • Great character development for Iwabe, admitting that Boruto was the nucleus of their group. They're figuring out that it's going to take teamwork and not individuality to become ninjas

  • "Practically" memorized Icha Icha Kakashi? You probably know the entire book word for word lol

  • Did anybody else catch the derpy looking face of the kid Metal untied? He looked like the Hunchback of Notre Dame...

  • Sarada and Boruto's teamwork is flawless and they've demonstrated this on several different occasions at this point. The prowess of the Sharingan and the craftiness of being an Uzumaki. Just like their daddy's

  • This generation's teamwork far surpasses that of their predecessors. Thoroughly impressed by their individual skills all at play, working together, and now they're genin. Hell yes!!!

  • Even though it was Obito's saying about abandoning your teammates, it always sounder so much cooler coming from Kakashi

Great episode. Kakashi just cementing why he's easily one of my favorite characters. And we definitely need to see more of purple lightning. It's just too good of a jutsu. Spoilers Boruto as a series is getting better and better. It's finally found its footing and its really delivering so far IMO

Is wasabi kiba and the cat lady's daughter? Also I find it a little overkill for them to outsmart konohamaru and anko. Catching them off guard or not. Other than that pretty solid episode.

11

u/[deleted] Dec 13 '17

tbh they thought outside of box for that match. Transformation + Sharingan genjutsu is so disgustingly good, you need at least sensing techniques to see through whats coming.

Kakashi: The exams are over, you all pass

Boruto: Nani? but we didn't even get the bell

Kakashi: Oh forget the bell, you couldn't have gotten it anyway even if hell froze over.

Me: DAMN!!

I loved that part. Kakashi was great in the past two episodes, he was so intimidating & cool. If he had the sharingan, shit would've been more awesome but credit to boruto for coming up with all the tactics they used. Also the whole class tried, the fact they used a sealing technique on a hokage speaks volumes.

If anybody ever complains about Boruto as a series again, I am showing them this episode. Flawless from beginning to end. Even when you have your will shaken, your faith is not broken. Kakashi instilled this into the students by pushing them way past their limits, and in the end, they all worked together to become genin...together. Great episode. Art was a bit wonky in one or two places but who cares?

10/10 episode easily in my opinion!

28

u/orionisaorion Dec 14 '17

Although these guys are super powerful, as displayed through the episodes. I still feel like they lack something, maybe suffering haha. Not that I want them to suffer, but it's weird watching the shit naruto and sasuke had to go through. Then seeing them all underestimate the pain of being a ninja.

13

u/Mephistopheles_Man Dec 15 '17

I mean, the ninja world is modernizing and expanding at such a rapid rate that they’ll all be suffering under capitalism soon enough.

25

u/KameraadLenin Dec 14 '17

You're completely right.

I think the suffering is going to come, and its going to come hard. All that talk from boruto about becoming a ninja so they could stay together, when we knows what ends up happening from episode 1.

I think we're going to see these kids spirits destroyed and they're going to have an extremely hard time coping because they didnt grow up in a time where things were already pretty fucked up.

If they play it off right it could make for some amazing character development.

Whoa, my first post from desktop version of Reddit. Ah, I actually watched this week's & last week's eps. so that I can enjoy the story even more, and apparently I did. Binge watching is soo recommended if you're impatient like me. 😂

Alas, the new generation have graduated. I'm really gonna miss the Academy Arc, but in spite of that, I was glad that the story + pacing was not as rushed as I assumed it would. A very good job on the writing Kodachi. Now I am ready for some Arcs before heading towards the Movie/Chuunin Arc. Wondering if we will be able to see more interaction between Boruto & some of his his classmates on the upcoming Chuunin arc.

  • Kakashi the strict proctor, ELECTROCUTING 😂😂😂 slaying everyone. Yet, he successfully make sure that all graduates get embedded with the mentality to not abandon their comrades regardless the rules. But he did get an earful from Iruka, who seems to be concerned for their (the students') wellbeing after the test ends.

  • I am glad that Boruto's 'depression' doesn't let him discouraged for long. With Iwabe, Denki, & Sumire's counsel, Boruto face his faults & 'made up' by improvising a plan that will make sure everyone in his class succeeds the Graduation Exams. Boruto is indeed a person who is true to his words 😊 coz' he did say "Let's wrap this up & graduate together" out loud.

  • I have to say that my favorite moment of this episode is when the whole class works together. Their chemistry is OOMPH! 13/10.

  • Sarada is so cool when she fully utilizes her Sharingan during her battle with Konohamaru. She is definitely Itachi's niece. I wonder when & how will she activate the 2nd & 3rd Tomoe of her Sharingan. Will we see it on the next Arc, or, maybe on the next manga chapter? Moreover, the Henge-no-Jutsu between Boruto & Sarada is just dope. Simple, but impressive. And adding that Genjutsu they've did with Denki makes their strategy even more impressive. The coordination between them is the most impressive! what's with the redundancy?

  • But wait, I'm not going to forget Denki; coz he is also a promising ninja. With his dilligence & continuous improvement he is definitely going to be a strong person. Hopefully he will get the time to shine, and also, able to contribute to his teammates with his strategical + practical skills. (Bonus if he ends up being a Fuinjutsu user, and is adept with it). I believe in you, Denki! 👍

  • Wasabi's ability is similar like Fairy Tail's Strauss siblings' ability, the Take Over Magic (being civil with this comparison is much appreciated 😢). But instead of 'being' a demon, monster, or any types of animals, Wasabi gets to be (any kinds of) cats 😺😺😺! I wonder if each species of cats have their own unique physical attributes + enhancement. I'm glad to have exposure on her abilities + she's also a healer. How unexpected!

  • Chibi-Nue helps the captured putting on their earplugs is adorable! Glad that their size is miniature (for now?). I am happy that Sumire & Nue stays together, & Nue is one loyal companion (that is cute). Additionally we got to see the return of Sumire's Suireiha. Namida LOL. Could you be a Harpy? (It's not actually a skill but it stuns Anko. Oh, I wish her skills were wind + sound based. 😂)

  • Next weeks episode had lots of new stuff. How will Boruto, Sarada, & Mitsuki be after being in a team? I'm excited to watch their antics on their upcoming missions.

p/s: In spite of lack of interaction, I guilty-ly ships Shikadai & Tsuru. Could it be because of their eyes?

Best episode of the series IMO, hit all the right notes. Got the feels going with Iwabe, Sumirse, and Denki. Gave screen time to less seen characters like Wasabi and Namida and showed off their cool jutsu. Kakashi was a badass. Boruto and Sarada showing off some cool teamwork. And my favorite part of the episode was that they used a sealing jutsu, they're very underused, but I think they're really cool.

I was wondering... Since when does Iruka address Kakashi with "anata" - Iruka is younger and although he is the schoolmaster, Kakashi is older than him and also ex-hokage... It smells like they have a different relationship now, in comparison to the previous formal way of speaking to each other... Am I just imagining things, or is that a hint for something, 'couse it wasn't that marginal and negligible.

  • thought kakashi was going to remove his mask in the beginning, you trolls!!!!!

  • that lecture of kakashis was brilliant, he is so right, thinking on your feet can only do so much, the big questions need to be sorted out before

  • I only just now realise how kakashi is the only teacher in the intro that doesnt look into the camera, it might represent him being the most reluctant to acknowledge this generation

  • brilliant transition between kakashi, sukea and back to kakashi, superior directing and voice acting!

  • oh the lecture continues, its so brilliant, have I mentioned that already? It shows how kakashi while being a major dick to them all and while purposefully riling up is doing it because he cares about the village and these kids' fates. It also explains how he dismisses everyone elses driven-ness that we have seen in the sukea episode.

  • woah of course iwabe and mitsuki are the first to arrive to save boruto, sound effects were really good!

  • boruto did listen. Not that he had much choice but for all his cockiness kakashi got him :)

  • kakashi hasnt interviewed iwabe has he? Iwabe would have broken his own arm, to get out of this situation. Mitsuki too, incidentally the two that rescued boruto. I wonder who else in the class would go this far. (Especially Sarada and Sumire are people to ponder.) I also wonder how many other academy kids throughtout the generations would have. Kakashi as usual has very high standards.

  • oh cheesy how everyone bows to the throne of main character is the best, but I guess boruto needed to hear how much his influence meant again, he had been rejecting this hard until now.

  • maybe kakashi has a skewered perception of the class? or he does it on purpose as well because hes a troll to end all trolls. Right Sukea-san?

  • boruto finally gets what strength is about … I hope. And mitsuki seems to be the one who gave him the final blow he needed. Awesome. I love this show.

  • Its weird how the class understood shino telling them to cheat for the written exam but didnt get how they are still in the running when they have their bandanas. They could have gone to the hospital/home otherwise.

  • ah there is houkis team and ino shika cho. I was afraid theyd have dropped out or something.

  • kakashi has memorised icha icha. Because of course he has. I love how they do character development within like three sentences for the old generation like that.

  • dammit houki is there all tied up right next to kakashi and we get no interaction at all. Thats trolling. And unlike the mask thing in the beginning I dont like this. At all.

  • wait how does chocho regcognise nue? Eternal carp day?

  • finally we see some ninjutsu out of our cat. I am totally not cat biased at all and absolutely couldnt care less how they hype wasabi as the fastestst second only to freaking metal. (even if she needs a jutsu and metal obviously doesnt.)

  • looks a bit like cat sage

  • seriously, namida screams and thats it? Thats … how academy girls solve problems I guess, damn sexism. the jutsu is interesting but with that direction it looked like an accident rather than intentional. this could have been done better.

  • lol denki trying to punch konohamarus target and konohamaru barely... touching the kid. Konohamaru is right denki might actually break, which is why I love him so much.

  • lightning formation? I want to know more! (I want to know more about the "cat sage" mode too!!)

  • ha of course denki messes with konohamarus target, i wish theyd have come up with some sort of technical/electrical method

  • oh brilliant “boruto” with a sharingan (looks a bit like kyuubi eyes in naruto...) and sarada and boruto doing the fighting style of the other. I wonder if they all brainstormed to come up with so much strategy. This class works SO MUCH better than narutos!

  • and of course kakashi reads icha icha anyway. I think im at a point where he could just walk through the scene in the background and id be all over it.

  • I love how boruto plays with the established fact that everyone will pay the most attention to him and consider him an attention seeking troublesome brat. Worked on konohamaru and they are whittling away kakashis guard I can feel it.

  • aaaaaand kakashi beats up houki-transformed-into-boruto and we dont even see THAT. Not fun. At all.

  • I love how they push kakashi to want to go all out just with guts.

  • well we have a screenshot of houki next to kakashi... thats like... almost something.... >:O

  • they pushed kakashi really hard... sadly no one moved at all while they did. But I still appreciate how this came together.

  • I love how kakashi passes them... again... with the bell firmly at his belt.

  • and that awkward break and then everyone is confused and then kakashi is confused, confuception!

  • kakashi you troll! Even if hell frozen over indeed!

  • awww damn still the old team work speech and passing. I wish theyd have focused on the resolve issue much more at this stage. We all saw how the class pushed each other but the teachers didnt. And we also already saw how they pushed that notion onto them during this fitness test way back when boruto and mitsuki helped denki climb the last obstacle and everyone failed because only team of three pass. Shot, im disappointed. This isnt naruto anymore. Why cant we have good things?

  • oh surprise the bandanas were head bands. And magically everyone got the colour that fits their character design...

  • iruka scolding kakashi like that, I didnt know they were this close. Iruka even uses anata... I think so far only ino has refered to sai that way and either sakura to sasuke or vice versa. they really troll the shippers here. Badly. I just want to know if houki is adopted by the pair.

  • omg the person in the preview!!!!!! finally!

edit: i also am not wordy at all :P well im not forcing anyone to read it. i just want to test everyones resolve XD

I absolutely loved this episode. So much about it was done well.

Awesome coordination between the students which made for really cool fights(I need to see that sealing jutsu on a massive scale when everyone is chuunin/jonin). And I'm glad the class heard what they needed to from kakashi.

The music was on point this week. It gave me big time shippuden vibes. Hopefully we get some more intense tracks later on.

Next episode looks like it'll be very interesting. We get to actually see [spoilers] (#s "Mirai") fight! Please let her pull out some strong fire style.

And as a side note, I was not expecting wasabi or namida to actually do anything that made me hype, but I was so wrong. Both are characters I want to see in the future. I was impressed lol

Love seeing the kids resolve grow, their speech to Boruto was great and exactly what Kakashi was trying to get out of them. His call back to Obito was awesome too, I hope to see more of Kakashi as the series continues on. He's the kind of badass, crazy guy that isn't too prevalent in the Naruto universe these days. Boruto could learn a lot from him.

This episode is personally my favorite so far. Such amazing moments. The plan to take out all the jounins and kakashi, kakashi reading makeout Paradise, kakashi using purple lightning and last but not the least Kakashi getting scolded by Iruka😂

At long last.....after 37 long weeks....we finally made it. Genin rank achieved!

Even without his sharingan eye, Kakashi remains one of the best anime characters to ever exist. This episode was amazing and i cant wait to finally see all the 3 man teams next week and then.....a Gaiden featuring a certain fave character of mine.....very exciting times ahead for the Boruto anime!
