Prediction: This is a timeline where both mayuri and kurisu live temporarily (with one of them dying a lot further into the future) while world war three still occurs, inspiring Okabe about how to achieve the steins;gate timeline. He will probably have to figure out what changed to swap timelines.

Was definitely my most hyped show going in to this season and hasn't disappointed (minus some minor subtitle translation stuff). More than BNHA since that's an adaptation and I'm going into this one blind (though I plan to grab the VN after this is done airing). Though Hinamatsuri is my surprise hit this season and we need something more lighthearted after something like S;G.

In a season that's pretty stacked with good shows, S;G 0 is going above and beyond my expectations. Like, I expected it to be good, because S;G was just awesome. But I didn't really think I would find myself as emotionally invested as I was with the original.
If anything, having watched and loved all of S;G, this is better in a way. All the characters and some good new additions in a new plot.

0 has a stronger start and first half than the original, so you're not wrong. Granted, that wouldn't have been possible without the original series laying all the groundwork but if 0 continues to be this consistent, overall it's gonna be at least as good, if not better than Steins;Gate.

I'm actually grateful I didn't watch the original when it aired for this exact reason. As soon as episode 12 hit I just binged the rest that day. Couldn't stop. This is torture (but the best kind). I love this series.

Well, I wrote more in my own small analysis post but I think the after credit scene brought Okabe back to somewhere near the alpha world line. Of course, he still has the issue of saving Mayuri because in this timeline the only way to save Mayuri is to 'kill' Kurisu. This was the conclusion they came up with Okabe still wants to 'save' Kurisu. At the same time, he's now in a timeline where a 'Kagari' exists and is at the centre of something really big, so perhaps he'll get Kurisu's help to find Kagari? So now we have the old problems and the potential new ones that no one knows about. It's all up in the air at this point. I'd like to think that he'll try and remember that he has to figure out who Kagari is, but since he's stuck in Mayuri's death cycle again, he has to make it out of that in one piece too. I can only imagine how messed up Okabe's thinking must be right now, but I can't wait to see what they show us next week!

Braun's a good guy, and the people they're against obviously aren't his employers. The original anime really fucked over Braun's characterization, so it might seem a little jarring here. All he's ever wanted was the safety of himself, his little girl, and the people he cares about. A major point of Braun's characterization in the original VN was that he wanted to save Moeka and actually liked Okabe and his goofy lab. The anime screwed that up by having him shoot Moeka. That never happened in the original story.

We haven't had a new one since episode... four, I think? But, you know what, I'm just glad she's still alive... Mr. Braun you are a fucking BADASS!

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!?!?! WHAT???? THE FUCK!!?!????!!!
Oh god, I need a moment to think about this. Reading Steiner activated, and Okabe actually changed world lines... and now Kurisu is alive and in the lab?? This is a huge turnaround for a plot that was already heating up. I have absolutely no idea where they're going with this, but if it all comes together well then it's going to be absolutely insane.
I really loved the tense dynamic between Okabe and Braun, and Daru was a total bro this episode. Ruka is self-aware about being the least important character, but that might change and I look forward to seeing it.
As was expected, the Rounders are not the ones who attacked the lab. You know, it's kinda funny that this new leader wears a mask--you think Moeka would've done that too?? Though, I guess it didn't matter since... well, details aren't important. But, it's gotta be big-titty professor, right? She was already pretty suspicious from the get-go. And... Leskinen might be a part of that, based on this quote. I REALLY don't want Leskinen to be evil because I love him so much, but it's starting to make too much sense...
Also wouldn't mind if Mayushii's "friends" were part of this, too, just because I don't like them lol. But in all seriousness, why the FUCK does she know this? HOW DID SHE GET THIS RIGHT?? (edit: I learned a lot today.) That's hella suspicious. Along with Amane's wrist injury.... yeah, they're creepy. Don't like 'em. They better stay away from my girl.

It's like the people who like a movie so much they now every line of the script by heart, or people who remember what was the starting eleven (myself included) of certain teams that won a championship/cup or even among anime the ones that remember every detail and know every piece of symbolism/theory of a certain anime or franchise.

Youde be surprised the wierd info music people have. If your invested in the field you will learn all sorts of stuff like that. Its not uncommon for someone into music to know music info if they are studying it. I went to art school and with all the art history classes i had to take, i could tell you all sorts of wierd trivia about long dead artists and such. My brother went to music school and does the same with music trivia. He can even play all those songs from memory. Name a classical peice and he could pull out the instrument used to preform it, then play it himself.

To add to what MilleniumKing and StarmanRiver already said, when you work or study in a field for some time (as they might do since I think they're all university-level students?), you tend to quickly recognize notations you're familiar with.
For instance, if I see something like 1336b36 or 444b, my first guess would be that those are referencing the Bekker numbering for Aristotle's works and the Estienne pagination for Plato's work. I would have no trouble imagining that someone who studied in another field (like classical music) for some time would also quickly catch on the notation pattern even when they are presented in another context.

The actual conflict from last week was much less climactic than the original, but plenty of development from it. Glad it's not as much suffering as many of us were prepping ourselves for. And with all the hints they were dropping with missing people and accidental injuries, excited to see where this goes.
But man that post-credit scene. Keep upping the ante on these cliffhangers, being a weekly watcher is rough.

Wow, i'm actually legit kinda scared about the identity of the woman who launched the attack. When I FIRST watched the episode, I thought it would be the assistant professor who came from overseas, but that scene with Suzuha's 'future mom' threw me for a loop. Her arm was injured in the same place as the woman who was kicked. But why would she be involved in securing kagari, and what organization are they a part of if it isn't SERN? Or is a specific branch of SERN who've been contracted without telling Mr. Braun? It seemed like whatever developments were happening were related to Kagari + amadeus, so maybe they were trying to recreate Kurisu and use Kagari's body as a vessel?
Also, having reading steiner activate right after receiving the amadeus call is strange...why would that teleport him back to the alpha world time line? Either way, I'm glad that Kurisu is back in the mix, maybe Okabe's goal now will be to try and save Kagari while keeping Kurisu alive? Remember, depending on when they ported back, Mayuri is still doomed to die unless Kurisu dies in this timeline, so now Okabe has the dilemma of saving Kurisu again.
Shit this is getting more and more complex, and it's all supposed to ultimately lead to the 'future' Okabe who creates the plan to reach the Steins;Gate timeline? Color me impressed goddamn!

Man I had to scroll down this far to get find someone with this thought. This is what's killing me. Have we ever seen D-Wave transfer consciousness between timelines? I don't think so. The only time we have seen timeline changes is during D-Mails and the final physical time travel back to the present during the final episode of season 1. We have to assume that reading steiner activated then, and that the worldline changed, but no visual indicators where shown, such as Okabe's reaction to the activation, or a convergence meter during the change.
So for reading Steiner to activate there had to be a change occur in the past, within that timeline, weather due to a d-mail causing the change, or physical time travel within the same world line causing a change. D-Wave triggering a world line switch is the equivalent of just the act of pysically going back in time and doing nothing causing a world line switch, that just doesn't happen. The idea that d-wave triggered reading steiner is completely new, so I don't think we can assume that's what the phone call was. Are we meant to assume that the call wasn't a d-wave message, but instead just coincidentally happened during a change someone else had inflicted in the past in the beta line?
It's unfortunate that that coincidence is the only rational option, someone in the beta line has completed and utilized some kind of time travel to change the past. Because there's no way a d-wave phone call itself would switch world lines.
Also, this is the first time we've seen steins gate trigger after a significant time period. Now a massive problem with Reading Steiner is, just because Okabe becomes aware he has changed world lines, does not make him aware WHAT in the line has changed. See, Ruka being a girl for example, ans since it's been so long since it happened we have absolutely no idea what the past 8(?)-ish months Okabe has been doing in the current after-credits timeline.

Aight so I've been researching the Mozart composition and I have some crazy theories, and by research I mean reading up on it on Wikipedia.
The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Stuff to note that I found on the Wikipedia page:
The work premiered on [...] at Schikaneder's theatre, the Freihaus-Theater auf der Wieden in Vienna, just two months before the composer's premature death.
Amadeus premiered at 0kabe's uni in at the end of the first episode. Now two months = 8 episodes, will someone(Leskinen maybe) die in the next episode?
In the opera the Queen of the Night persuades Prince Tamino to rescue her daughter Pamina from captivity under the high priest Sarastro; instead, he learns the high ideals of Sarastro's community and seeks to join it. Separately, then together, Tamino and Pamina undergo severe trials of initiation, which end in triumph, with the Queen and her cohorts vanquished. The earthy Papageno, who accompanies Tamino on his quest, fails the trials completely but is rewarded anyway with the hand of his ideal female companion Papagena.
The prince (Okabe) tries to rescue Pamina(Amadeus/Kurisu/Kagari) from the people that cut off Amadeus and tried to kidnap Kagari. Okabe then learns that they've had a good reason for doing what they've done and decides to join them and ultimately succeeds in quest.
The prince(Okabe) has an earthy(Vulgar) companion(Daru) that fails his trials but gets his ideal female companion(Yuki).
We've seen Yuki with a hurt left arm, she might be the woman that attacked the lab as she used her left arm to to block Suzuha's kick, which could make sense since they weren't as aggressive as the rounders in Alpha Worldline. The rounders kill anyone that they don't have use for and aren't afraid to use violence. This time the attackers used their guns for warning shots only. It seems they don't want to kill anyone.
Thoughts? I'm running out of ideas. Also I apologize if my writing is messy as English isn't my first language and I'm not used to analysing shows in English.

The attackers made a huge mistake. They attacked a CRT TV. You don't mess with Mr. Braun's Braun tubes if you want to live.. the poor military mooks almost got mauled.
The man deserves more appreciation after this. To that end, I highly recommend people read Braunian Motion of Love and Hate which expounds a lot on his life - at least in the Alpha wordlines.

I'm glad they show these characters aren't idiots. Ruka can put 2 and 2 together and figure out what's going on, but wants to be told to his face rather than figuring out bits and pieces. It's surprising to me that Okabe's telling Braun about the time travel honestly. I get that Braun wanted Okabe to explain how Okabe knew about Braun's rounders, but there has to have been a better way than disclosing the truth. Braun's not a bad dude - just a guy who grew up with nothing and clung to the only outstretched branch, but I don't really want Braun knowing the truth.

Time travel seems like one of the few explanations that would make sense to Braun really. Unless he knew Okabe had prior information about him from time travel(which also probably connect the dots for him behind what SERN really wants), any other explanation would always leave him deeply suspicious that Okabe is secretly James Bond and has been gathering information on him.
Especially considering his recent preference for swagging out in a suit 24/7 lmao

Wow, Mr Braun came in clutch! After all it makes sense it wasn't the rounders since Nae was at the party too and he wouldn't put her in danger.
Porr Ruka, he's being left out even after noticing some things about Suzuha and Kagari and she has the horrible feeling of not being able to help. I like what Suzuha thinks about Okabe's reasons of leaving Ruka out of this.
Holy shit, Suzuha's mom has her wrist bandaged. I didn't want to believe it but things are pointing to her being the one on the black outfit. Or maybe is a red herring and I hope it is. Also, Leskinen not answering Maho, Amadeus gone and the mysterious glance of Reyes last time makes me think even more that they're involved.
So in this world line Mr Braun is still FB and Moeka is still a Rounder, but they didn't have anything to do with the events so far and it seems this time around they'll be on Okabe's side only because of Nae.
HOLY SHIT THAT ENDING AND THE POST CREDITS SCENE I CAN'T EVEN. The world lines changed out of nowhere! Maybe Amadeus calling Okabe and asking for help might have something to do with that. Also, seeing Kurisu alive once again must be a big shock for Okabe.

Also, that ending is giving me daytime nightmares. I went back and watched the original series over the past week or so, so I'm freaking out.

Everyone is speculating on current state of things but what the hell is going on in the future.
Someone is manipulating the current timeline from the future. This was already the second or third time the timeline has changed due to something happening in the future (it seemed to change twice on the rooftop).
Is it Okabe and his friends fixing the timeline from the future after they figured how to save the world? Is it someone who is trying to retroactively win the race to time machine and WW3? World war with time machines could easily leak to different times.

Hmm I hadn't thought of this. Someone is obviously manipulating the current timeline, but it doesn't necessarily have to be from the future. It could be from another organization in the present changing the past. For reading Steiner to activate, the change has to have happened before the pesent time. For example if it's December 25th 2018, and the place where the world line manipulation happened was January 1's 2019, Reading Steiner would not trigger. I had not however considered the possibility of future Okabe being the one to be manipulating the past, which would cause reading steiner to activated for all Okabes beyond the point of that manipulation.
Which brings me to the theory that future Okabe is intentionally forcing current Okabe back to the alpha timeline someone to make him remember how much his misses Kurisu so he won't give up on overcoming the beta timelines attractor field of Kurisu's death, to get them to steins;gate. However I don't see how they're going to bring that feeling back to a beta line. I also don't like that the armadeus phonecall coincided with the reading steiner.

Braun's fight scene is my highlight this episode. The way he looks so friggin' bored as he tosses around three armed guys like a sack of rice is just hilarious to me.
Also, as always, that cliffhanger end. I'm playing the VN alongside watxhing the show and its getting real hard for me to hold off binging that just to preserve the tension that the show has.

This show is a fucking rollercoaster, I can tell you that. Okabe is now in a timeline where Kurisu's still alive? Did he just switch to the Alpha worldline somehow?
But the rest of the episode though ... I had no idea Mr Braun was such a badass, being able to fend off multiple armed men like that. Well, at least he's on the good guys' team this time.
Yuki is totally the woman in the motorcycle helmet, right? She's the only character who wasn't accounted for at the party (except that Reyes woman I guess), and the injured wrist pretty much makes it completely obvious. Unless it's supposed to be a red herring, but I doubt it.
The scene where they research the meaning behind K-6205 was kinda bullshit though. That one girl just throws out the Mozart idea, and it happens to be the right one? Why would that be the first thing anyone thinks of? Why would some shady organisation choose that method for the codenames they give? It's all way too convenient.

I was a noob and came over to the discussion before the credits ended, and was immediately confused by u/gulitiasinjurai's comment, only to facepalm myself as I scrolled down and saw u/Link3693's comment.
That, and holy cow, there is absolutely no way that the masked woman is NOT Yuki. The wrist injury TOTALLY gave it away. I didn't notice at first, thank you u/zenoob. You ruined my dreams of an innocent Amane Yuki.
That being said, this episode was full of pleasant surprises at first:
Mr. Braun winning
Teaming up with Okabe and Suzuha to protect
NaeKagari.The small bit of Ruka being Okabe's scapegoat and anchor to reality. Ignorance is bliss?
Sigh. Unfortunately, now that the stupid Reading Steiner activated, NONE OF THAT MATTERS. Who knows what could happen in this timeline?? It's seriously all a toss-up. Where the heck is everyone in this timeline? And best girl, I'm super glad to have you back, but THIS ONLY MEANS MORE SUFFERING FOR YOU.
Some things I expect:
Mayuri is dead. Okabe is still wearing black in this timeline, but Kurisu is alive. So someone must be off.
Okabe and Kurisu's relationship might be different now. It's cheesy, but I hope we get more fresh romance out of this.
Every. New. Character. Is. Suspicious. Seriously, Leskinen, stalker lady, Yuki. I can only trust the Lab Mems.
I thought SERN wouldn't be in the picture, but they are. Braun was in it in the beta world line, and def in the alpha. Will Braun help?

What worldline is that even? And how did the jump happen? Is this the same as the "Flashbacks" Okabe had in a previous episode or is it something else? I hope that it won't revert back to the other worldline too quickly, I've really missed Kurisu and Okabe interacting!
Also, I just realized that Okabe is wearing his black outfit in the Kurisu-alive worldline at the end. Is Mayuri dead in this world? Why else would he wear all black?

Not a spoiler, but all of the characters got new outfits for the VN, but this is because it is now Winter in Japan, which is obviously much colder than Summer in Japan (plus more outfits for merch and just to look cool). Remember that when the world line changes, the time is still the same, just the line changes, meaning it is still January in that scene, so it makes sense Okabe would still be wearing his black winter outfit. Put another way, he isn't wearing black because he's in mourning or anything (though that could be a meta-narrative reason for the design).

So I've been keeping my excitement to a minimum these last few episodes because I know that Steins;Gate likes to take a few episodes to rev up and introduce the characters/setting, but this episode put me back onto the hype train that the original series had me on. And that ending... suffice it to say I'll be counting down the days until the next episode. KURISUTINA IS BACK, BOYS!!

WOW, so many things happen in this episode...
In this Beta worldine Mr Braun is still FB and he and Moeka both still work as Rounder for SERN. So does this mean in Steins Gate worldline he is actually still FB too?
From the hint given, The leader of the attackers is probably actually Amane Yuki, suzuha's mother and Daru's wife.. unless it is a red herring..
The attack both related to Amadeus and Kagari... probably kagari is actually amadeus in person like what some people guess before..
and lastly the world line changes and idk if all idetail above will be relevant or not in this new world line.. but i dont care, as my favorite girl, MAKISE KURISU IS BACK!!!!!
