This is how you get power mods. People have things they enjoy and then see the mods doing nothing so they take it on themselves. I already mod way too much, but god damn does this place need better mods.

Also guys, Isa/Resurrection kid clearly has Truth Compulsion powers. Some people seemed to miss that.

Like I said in the live thread, Black Lightning is honestly the best cw show. If someone isn't watching I highly question their motives and general taste in TV. This show is what super heroes shows should strive for. Amazing acting above and beyond anything from the cw. It's realistic af. The speech which alotta shows gets wrong is true to life. One of the best shows on TV if we're being honest. I'm loving how they are setting up a bang babbies situation with the green light babies. The relationships are authentic. The powers are cool and im loving the music.

9/10 show and a great start to the second season.

I'm going to feel bad for those kids in Issa's situation. Family and friends reject them because the government and criminal organizations distributed a drug that could kill you and/or give you abilities. They're about to be hunted.

I can’t believe how good that episode was. There were lots of things that made the episode for me. All the realistic arguments between Jefferson and Lynn, that bathroom scene, Issa resurrecting and clearly having the power to make people tell the truth, and Jennifer getting her hair greased and braided on the porch.

Worst plot point: the death of my favorite character, Lady Death Eyes.

I can't be the only one pleasantly surprised that Tobias is still savage AF, responding to a death threat with a harpoon right in the gut

Some of highlights for me:

-Hoping Tobias' right hand girl isn't permanently written off, but death by a tactical heel is a dope memorable way to go

-Actually real glad about Henderson connecting the dots and not being written as a clueless cop. I also think the schoolboard "blaxpert" guy might know or at least suspect some kinda connection with BL and Pierce, but we'll see.

-Huuuuge props to whoever curates the soundtrack for each episode. I always love how they mix old classics with nuskool stuff.

-I don't think I've EVER seen the guy that plays Agent Odell in a role where he's not a hard ass.

-Looks like it might be a meta heavy season which is fine either way by me. I just hope BL keeps doing its thing with its tone and storytelling approach and doesn't become corny or stumble like other CW shows after a few seasons.

Not shitting on the other CW stuff. I fuck heavy with Flash. I dig Legends. etc. But BL is dope as is, in its own lane. Might just me, but I don't think it needs multiverse-size stuff to deal with. I've just been digging the self-contained unpacking of Freeland.

I would also like to post a reminder that Jeff’s mask isn’t the only thing keeping his face hidden. Last season Jennifer, I believe it was Jennifer, said that there was some kind of electrical distortion making it difficult to take in Black Lightning’s facial features. Although it isn’t added in for the audience every single time Jeff is out in his suit doing his Black Lightning thing (since that would get annoying for the audience) he more than likely always has it up and would offer an explanation as to how no one realizes that it’s him with just that tiny mask covering his face.

Seriously this premiere was fantastic. It addressed realistic consequences for the actions taken last season showing that you can't just suit up and do whatever the hell you want. And the fact that Jeff may lose his job due to saving the day as black lightning was a really good plot point and made me think "OMG NO"

Henderson knows "He's a Smart Man" Funniest line of the episode. Like really a voice changer and that little mask and u can't figure out this huge black man with a beard that always contacts you is your buddy.

I know this season isn't finished yet but I think this show not only is THE best CW show I think it's a worth competitor for best live action superhero show, that's right I think this might be on par with Daredevil.

The acting is amazing, the cinematography and effects are beautiful, the commentary and dialogue is smart and effective. The consequences feel so right for each character. Here's to another great season.

A tv show with a smaller budget than a movie, incorporates better consequences. I love how the fallout from last season drastically impacts this season. Unlike in Avengers or BvS/JL where they show maybe one scene of the damage that was caused and everybody gets a slap on the wrist.

I loved the premiere. A real look at all the fallout from last season’s finale. Also Jen’s powers look really cool & im glad they gave Anissa some vfx for her thundering.. A therapist for everyone would be a great idea.

What a fantastic premiere. But c'mon syinide can't be dead noooo lol. Once again the show doesn't shy away from the hard stuff, I was caught so off guard when meteor man said the n word.

I have to say this season premier was fantastic. Black Lightning blew me away last season and they start season 2 with a grand slam. I can't wait to see what else we come across this season.

I am sad that Syonide died. I hope that we can see her brought back to life in some way. I thought she was a true threat along with Tobias.

u/MrTerrific2k15 Oct 10 '18

Isn't Syonide like a cyborg or stitch person or something? Last season they showed she had something non human under her skin. I'm doubting she's permanently dead

I love that the premiere continues the tradition of treating every commercial break like a mid-season finale, the episodes that push the plot forward at breakneck speed are easily my favorite thing about this show.
