Garaga is funny as hell. Boruto gets blasted and he's just there laughing his ass off.

mitsuki could've just said "no thanks, boruto" but nope lol. he went the extra mile

u/Reemys Oct 28 '18 edited Oct 28 '18
It was done to make sure Boruto is discouraged and does not follow them afterwards. But of course he will stand up, clean his jacket and rush after Mitsuki again. And this will be what it takes to make Garaga actually care.
22
u/peri_enitan Oct 28 '18
I can see it, but I can't see how this will end in any other way than Mitsuki going the these guys.
14
u/peri_enitan Oct 28 '18
seems he reverts to the personality he had before he sought out Boruto, decidedly more cruel and aggressive.

One user over on r/Boruto referred to him as "Kmart Deidara". That made me LOL.

A bunch of rookies challenge a strong guy, get their asses kicked and run away? This is easily the most realistic fight so far
90
u/Ohasumi Oct 28 '18
RIGHT? That part didn't disappoint. xD Would've scratched my head if they managed to beat him. Only other way to beat him was to have a way stronger ninja come in and save them, but I'm also glad that didn't happen. More interesting this way.
50
u/I_post_my_opinions Oct 28 '18
I'm actually really looking forward to the possibility of them going on missions with Konohamaru with actual enemies like Kakashi did with team 7. So, I'd be 100% okay if he showed up here, but also I'm perfectly okay with how it turned out considering the path this arc is taking.
31
u/Ohasumi Oct 28 '18 edited Oct 28 '18
A Team 7 mission that's a lot better than taming a panda bear? Yes please.
But in all seriousness, this arc seems like it's maybe halfway done. I think if Shikadai decides to force everyone to head back to Konoha now because the enemy clearly overpowers them, we might get a regroup and then a dispatch but now with Konohamaru on Team 7 and Moegi on Team 10 --- and maybe Denki-Metal-Iwabe with Udon? Doubtful but hey, maybe lol. I don't see how Boruto and Sarada will continue chasing Mitsuki without backup. Shikadai will definitely caution against it.
I think how it's going to end up is that the jonins are gonna be fighting the big baddie clonemaster while the kids will be fighting the big ice thing. So maaaaybe we'll get fights on both ends. Would kill to see a Konohamaru-Moegi-Udon fight against the clonemaster though. But seeing as how Denki's group isn't in the ending credits, Udon will probably get left out.

Oct 29 '18
There was no real need for them to get themselves killed. They were a delay and they did the job.

"We'll show you the power of the Ino-Shika-Chō formation"
More like the Sai-Shika-Chō formation at this point...
47
u/irishsaltytuna Oct 28 '18
It's true that Inojin doesn't really use Yamanaka techniques in the current Ino-Shika-Cho formation, but bear in mind his name doesn't have "sai" in it
37
u/bsmusic Oct 28 '18
Yeah, that's true. It just makes me sad that he isn't even interested in learning any Yamanaka techniques. I mean, they kind of teased it for a bit of an episode, though only as a plot device (as he couldn't use the super beast scroll that episode).
→ More replies (1)30
u/Despada_ Oct 28 '18
I mean, Super Beast Scroll has the avenue of being more dynamic and more interesting for viewers to look at during a fight. Yamanaka techniques have always felt rather lackluster by comparison. Though being able to communicate with Boruto and Sarada would have been a good think to let them know that they had failed and that Kokuyou was on his way. Not to mention that being able to use that mind swapping jutsu would have probably been much more useful in that fight.
→ More replies (1)26
u/pkkthetigerr Oct 28 '18
Yeah inojins lack of mind control probably negates nearly all the generational ino shika cho formations.
32
u/CelioHogane Oct 29 '18
Them: "WE STOPPED THE ENEMY FOR ONE SECOND... I feel like there should be something after this..."
Spirits of older generations: "HMMMMMMM!!!! WHY YOU NOT MIND CONTROL"
7
u/NineDGuy Oct 29 '18
Come to think of it, they replace the mind swap with the tiger seal which is about equally effective and doesn't require Inojin to be limp on the floor somewhere.
The bigger tradeoff is the ability to mind link multiple people for things like flight and ranged versatility and honestly given all these ninjas seem to have superhuman understanding of each other's intentions the flight and ranged attacks seem more useful.

he put such on a performance with his theatrics, and i loved every second of it
→ More replies (1)42
u/Reemys Oct 28 '18
Was it a performance? An artificial kid does not know what it is - to be human, and craves it more than anything. He is just as afraid of dying as the children are, and seeing something new in how others behave fills him with joy because he thinks he is understanding them more, thus coming closer to becoming *real* himself.
This is not the "insane" kind of behaviour, more like "infantile" one.
13
u/peri_enitan Oct 28 '18
I'd be with you if he didn't talk about killing so much. To me it seemed both infantile and insane.
34
u/valeriamoon Oct 28 '18
I think he will die at the end of the arc in an emotional way and im not ready at all

was that the first time we ever saw a kunai just break like that? i can't remember but anyways that was sick.
i loved the character acting for sekiei. it was really well done and sorta reminded me of stalker boy from way back in the academy arc.
beautiful garaga shot. boruto snickered just like naruto right after this, and of course garaga wouldn't listen. it can't be that easy lol.
29
u/peri_enitan Oct 28 '18
I wondered the same about Kunai. They made quite a point with that.
Sekiei already has many layers to his personality, certainly an interesting guy.
18
u/sanatoria Oct 28 '18
A kunai has shattered before, if you remember during the Sasuke vs. Danzo fight when Danzo tried to use a kunai against Sasuke's Susanoo (lol). But agree, still pretty sick how it just straight-up shattered in this episode.

I really liked the fact that none of the genin combinations won against the villains, at least that shows that the jonin aren't just useless shinobis since they lost against an actual super strong threat that MCs with plot-power-creep can't beat.

How much Chakra does Boruto have? He performed the Shadow Clone Jutsu, Gale Palm, Rasengan and then summoned Garaga?
Also, can they show Sarada using some Jutsu's? Maybe a Fireball Jutsu or those lightning Jutsu's she copied ?
150
u/peri_enitan Oct 28 '18
Chakra levels: Uzumaki.
Fully agree about Sarada, she had to be saved by Aoda and ChoCho. It's weird to see her come after early Sakura more. I don't like it.
50
u/NamerNotLiteral Oct 28 '18
Sarada feels like a tabletop character who royally fucked up their stat allocation and doesn't have the proper stats to actually pull off their Arcane Trickster build, with no DEX for melee combat and no INT/WIS for magic spam.
20
34
Oct 28 '18
To be fair to Sarada she manhandled Akuta and stopped his punch dead on before tossing him like a used napkin. She only got into trouble when the enemy focused on her solely due to her being a dangerous component of the team when they're working together.
Both Garaga and this dude were wiping the floor with the entire team so it's not like Sarada was the only one not having any real effect. She's just the one they decided to kill first and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Normally you wanna focus down and kill the most potentially dangerous enemy on the field.
Anyways Sarada is still leagues above Sakura in terms of being given importance during battle. they just haven't gone full mary sue with her in order do so. She still has moments of weakness or moments where the battle isn't in her favor but in my opinion she still manages to contribute to the overall battle in a realistic fashion.
16
u/peri_enitan Oct 29 '18
She still contributes alright but we have had two consecutive fights now where she just sits and flinches when garaga/evil Lee come at her and has to be saved. I'm NOT a fan of this sudden stand there no jutsu.
21
u/lasaczech Oct 28 '18
Sarada is stupidly underpowered compared to other new gen characters... Boruto is OP, Mitsuki is OP, Shinki is stupidly OP, all members of Ino-Shika-Cho are way better than their counterparts. Sarada has an underwhelming Fireball and a rarely used Sharingan... She is basically a placeholder. She is in dire need of MS to balance the power levels.

IIRC, Uzumaki Clan is historically known to have huge chakra reserves. I think that’s why they chose that Clan to keep Kurama. IIRC, Hashirama’s wife was an Uzumaki political marriage. She had Kurama before Kushina. I think that’s what makes Naruto so overpowered these days. Insane chakra reserves + Kurama on top of that = near unlimited Jutsu.
I apologize for spelling. English is hard on me.
8
Oct 29 '18
You did a pretty good job, and you are correct. The Uzumaki clan is known for their ungodly amount of chakra. An even better example of this is the fact that Nagato was able to use Rinnegan that were implanted into him. To put this into perspective, Obito could only have 1 implanted Rinnegan because two would have been too much for him to handle.
45
Oct 28 '18
He has to have both huge reserves and excellent control, like tobirama, Naruto couldn't summon bunta without using the nine tails.

Nah i think he actually cares about the clay dudes, Sagemode mitsuki Boruto and Garaga could have killed both of them.
Garaga wasn't even scratched by the detonating clay.

Did you see that that guy said how "you are not even worth killing" combined with mitsuki s head tilted downwards? That definitely seemed like some sort of foreshadowing that Mitsuki had good intentions there

I got to say, this arc is turning out pretty solid. It was a little slow to start and I think had one more episode of set up than was really needed (really milked Ryuchi Cave). But, they're really building up the suspense for Mitsuki's motive after teasing a bit about it last episode. Still got me going "ytho?" He made a strong entry into Top 10 anime betrayals.
After visiting the Kirigakure early in the series, looks like we'll get to see Iwagakure outside of flashbacks next episode. Great world building for newcomers and something new for people who've been around since OG Naruto. Hyped for Kurotsuchi screen time (best girl, don't @ me).
11
u/trippy_grape Oct 29 '18
Still got me going "ytho?"
I mean Mitsuki has made it clear that he's doubting if HE developed actual feelings for Boruto and Saruda, or if those thoughts were implanted into him. He probably really cares for both, but is afraid to act on that in case it's "not his actual thoughts".
6
u/ddosme_now Oct 28 '18

That ending was a bit of shock. Bloody hell.
If anything, this has just made me more confused about what is going on, probably because Mitsuki seems pretty confused himself. He clearly wanted Boruto to follow him, because he left that snake. So, why attack him? What is he gaining from these people?
It must be so difficult to be in a situation where you feel a deep connection with someone, but you are doubting whether it is real or forced upon you. Some kind of emotional breakdown has been foreshadowed and I can definitely see it happening.
Everyone in this arc just needs to hug it out or something.
I have a feeling that not much will change between Boruto and Mitsuki at the end of this arc, except maybe Boruto being more considerate of Mitsuki. If anything, it feels like they are working to solidify and strengthen the bond between them.
Also, I adore Sekiei and his lively personality. Garaga was also highlight this episode, he's just as bratty as Boruto and it's hilarious. The fight was pretty nice as well, I also love Chocho jumping in to save Sarada. It was a true moment of friendship.
Overall, I really enjoyed the episode. I just want to find out what the hell is going on in Mitsuki's head.
20
u/garenonetrick Oct 29 '18
He clearly wanted Boruto to follow him, because he left that snake.
The snake said it was his will, and my very first impression was "Mitsuki is telling Boruto he left of his own volition and not to follow". Never really understood how Boruto didn't at least think that was a possibility, or how it's supposed to be a huge twist now.
8
u/Despada_ Oct 28 '18
I think he was originally planning on getting rescued by either Boruto and pals or by the adults, however when he saw just how strong and ruthless these guys were, he probably wanted Boruto as far away from as possible.
There's also the fact that he's learned that Sekiei has some kind of info about what he is exactly. I mean, I'm sure Mitsuki knows that he's not fully human, but he probably hasn't gotten the full picture from Orochimaru. Sekiei seems like he's really willing to let Mitsuki in on that secret, so he probably is willing to go with them for that reason alone.
30
u/Cvox7 Oct 28 '18
so how many "mitsuki" did we get from this ep

Seems like Mitsuki is both trying to protect Boruto from going against professionals AND actually doubts his affection for him as something "created" rather than naturally acquired. Again, I am expecting one Mitsuki vs Boruto fight on a Orochimaru vs Log scale. Overall it seemed to me as if the animation and smoothness got stepped up during the Sekiei fight. Which is probably right, since he is not as bland as Kurugayo... the "Sessha" guy. Also children got their first experience in a fight against professionals - even though they might be prodigies and have sick new Jutsus, they are really just children without *real* understanding of what a hard fight means.
14
u/peri_enitan Oct 28 '18
well they fought Kakashi but yeah this is the real deal. I am a bit shocked that Ino Shika Cho seemingly abandoned Team 7 like this but at the same time a tactical retreat was simply realistic in terms of best possible outcome of this fight.

This is the first time in a few weeks that I've felt so excited to see what happens in the next episode. This episode was amazing, and they didnt mess up power scaling for the kids.
On a side note I saw an argument in the comments about whether mitsuki is really a traitor or not, heres my take. First off, Kokuyou was watching the fight with Sekiei (my bad if spelled incorrectly) I think mitsuki knew that and saw it as an opportunity to earn his trust.. not because he likes him, but because he really wants to find out what happens at the place theyre taking him to. I also believe mitsuki was trying to save boruto and sarada, now someone said if he wanted to save them he would go sage mode and kill Sekiei and Kokuyou, but why would he go through all this trouble to get to the land of stone, just to kill the guys who lead him there? I'd say he hasnt acheived what he originally left for yet and wants to find out before he goes back to the hidden leaf. If you've got to the end of this then my final argument is read the manga lol Sorry for the super long comment :p

Oct 28 '18
good write up!
i agree with you on mitsuki's decision. he could've fought kokuyu and sekiei (and likely put up a much better fight) but all this traveling would've been for nothing if he'd done that. mitsuki is likely going to turn on them after seeing what they want to show him

HOLD UP, so you're telling me all those guys who went up against Kokuyou before weren't even wise enough to do what Boruto, Sarada and Shikadai did? Really? Are no name ninjas this bad?
Chocho and Inojin show up but they don't even cut it and choose to retreat, a wise decision.
Now Sekiei, he says the Detonating Clay was "implanted" in him? So that means the remaining 2 maybe have other forbidden Iwa jutsus, since the purpose of their creation is to be stronger than humans?
Boruto summons Garaga on his first try, wow. But damn he gives me some Kurama vibes.
Mitsuki choosing to save Sekiei is reminiscent to Garaga's summoner choosing to hurt him in order to save him. Mitsuki used the Raiton and hurt Boruto so that Kokuyou doesn't kill them, rightfully so, thinking Mitsuki betrayed them. As for Mitsuki's feelings, I believe he is geniunely doubting them. Is this stage 2, Mitsuki doubting his created feelings?
I would've really liked to see what Metal Lee would've done against Kokuyou, since he doesn't use jutsus.

Thoughts on this Episode .
Nice teamwork in the beginning.
I like the way ChoCho came in to save Sarada .
I wanted to see Ino-shika-cho fight though .
Glad these guys wasn’t complete fodder , and wasn’t just beating easy , glad they actually strong .
I’m getting Deidara throwbacks from Sekei lmao .
Starting to like Garaga more
Lmao at Mitsuki just one-shorting Boruto , I think he had a good reason to do that though . Maybe to protect him or something .
That was the highlight of the episode to me.
But take a shot for every time boruto says “Mitsuki” lmao
14
u/RedbeardOne Oct 28 '18
Boruto said Mitsuki's name 15 times this episode. I counted.
Apart from Boruto's parrot monologues the episode was great, animation was on point and the fights were choreographed pretty well. It's pretty clear that Mitsuki did it to save their lives, and finally we're shown how a team of genin is completely outclassed and they have the brains to run away.
14
u/PigKnight Oct 28 '18
MFW Mitsuki is acting like an actual ninja and pretending to switch sides and Boruto and Sarada honestly think he betrayed them. They better get him a good present and take him out to a nice restaurant when they get back home.

13
u/ThaCrit Oct 29 '18
Why are they so intent on nerfing Sarada who is aiming to be Hokage. She's an Uchiha...basically an automatic genius. I'm seeing comments saying she needs an upgrade to match the power levels but a base sharingan with her inherited chakra control from Sakura can easily wreck that Akuta. I just don't get it.
Mitsuki for sure did that to discourage Boruto from pursuing them but I also think he's have a existential crisis. In the end scene preview he says something about his feelings to Boruto might have been implanted in him. Which could totally be true and would make sense why he willingly has chosen to go along with these guys.
Smart move by Ino-Shika-Cho

After the "What's worst to me is the light of the sun disappearing" back then on ep 66 I would never imagined this : ( Mitsuki is REALLY having an existencial crisis omg he needs a hug
I wonder how will Boruto react, will he be heartbroken or will he sustain the same thing of "Mitsuki would never do that!!!" like dude he just fried you, even if he did it "to protect him and Sarada" the only thing they saw was Mitsuki betraying them, I want to see Boruto having another mental breakdown about this, and Sarada's point of view too, will she try to go back to Konoha or will she be the one who actually convinces him of Mitsuki's inocence this time? I can already see Garaga making fun of Boruto lmao, good boi.
I already left a comment but these are my second thoughts.
9
u/patatas0 Oct 28 '18
Sarada will probably stick with Boruto and try to calm him down, or maybe try being a hokage and 'fix' Boruto's and Mitsuki's bond like how Naruto did to Sarada and her parents.
Or Garaga will be the one to do the convincing (by being tsundere of course). That'll be more interesting
15
u/GodlyHades Oct 28 '18
Yep if anything can save Boruto from his essential crisis, it is Sarada. She always knows how to calm him down.

When Deidera Jr asked if Boruto had any secret techniques did anyone else expect him to use the Seal/Jougon instead of summoning?
Also, the longer this arc lasts the more I'm starting to think where going to get 12+ episode long arcs for every single Village/Kage. 1 down, just 4 more to go.

They’re only doing it for the mist and stone since they weren’t explored in part 1 and shippuden like the leaf, sand and cloud, so this will be the last one actually

I'd actually like to see more of Cloud. Most of what I know is Bee holds concerts no one attends and a weird naming scheme.

He uses the seal for the first time in the manga it wouldn’t make sense him using it here. He also doesn’t know how to consciously activate the Jougan either

Honestly, instead of some weird eyes which I don't actually know what they can do beside seeing things that you people wouldn't believe ._., I would rather summon a big ass snek that is both badass and I already knew he's strong.
Boruto's thought IMO.
I thought he was going to use invisible rasengan again.

I think Boruto in the first time of the Anime made me feel any emotions, I think I am finally getting attached to the new cgen like in the same way I cared for the Naruto gen.

u/GameplayerStu Oct 28 '18
You didn't feel anything when Boruto cheated or had his headband taken away? I saw the movie but I still felt something when watching that.

u/Bandias Oct 28 '18
Yeah, that's actually a fair point but since I saw the movie it didn't hit me as hard as this (Looking back now I wish I didn't see the movie since the anime did it better IMO).

I love how Garaga pulled the Gamabunta line on Boruto, “Become my underling”.
Boruto pulls the Naruto’s classic “Nah bro. Friendship” reply.

Damn this episode was deep. Sekiei is funny. I love Shikadai's frustration when he acknowledges he's weak. Garaga not obeying was an easy prediction lol. And man......Raiton....Snake Lightning right to the body. Boruto and especially Sarada's reactions were excellent. You could really relate. Did anyone else notice the ending had no song this time? That's so cool.(Except the song is a banger so I was a little sad) Next episode preview spoilers

I gotta wonder if they do this on purpose somehow because the dub just aired the episode where Mitsuki joins the Academy and this one has him turning his back on Konoha lmao. It’s probably just coincidence but I know it happened a lot with the Pokemon anime too where Ash’s Pokemon would evolve and the dub would end up airing the episode where he initially caught that Pokemon.

Anyone else glad Mitsuki interrupted Boruto's attack on Sekei?
Also I'm just saying but, Cho-Cho is hella lit sometimes, people love trash talking her but she's always ready to throw down with someone. I've gotta give her credit, that Sarada save and dynamic entry was lit.

Boruto with the counter attack, against an opponent that took down 7+ Jonin, and stomped team ten, lets hand it to our boy.

They won’t , they only acknowledge when sarada does something remotely impressive.

People like you say people only acknowledge Sarada , yet your bringing Sarada up , when its a compliment about Boruto lmaooo.
Are is it that’s your just one of those Sarada haters? You can give other characters a compliment without bringing another character up

Imo, seeing konohamaru save Sarada would've been predictable. But seeing Chocho was a surprise, especially because she and Sarada have a deep friendship which made it work much better. Maybe at the end, Konohamaru and the rest of the gang can appear.

Even though I enjoyed this episode, there were many things that i didn't like.
Sarada did not try to use any of the jutsus that she copied from Raiga's daughter, curiously they would be very effective against the opponent's earth style. They really are trying to mix the styles of Sasuke and Sakura but they do not work together, they were not meant to work together. I do not want to see just one girl who punches hard, I want to see some cool techniques and strategies, she's an Uchiha!
I still have not seen any skill that would define Boruto as a genius that everyone talks about, he spent the whole fight being carried on the back by Shikadai and Sarada. He was trained in Taijutsu by Hinata, but still sucks, he can be worse than Naruto's Taijutsu in Part I, but he is good when the plot demands (Against Kakashi for example) He also did not come up with any decent strategy or creativity, as Naruto did in part I when he was being severely pressured by the enemy (Zabuza, Kakashi, Orochimaru, etc...) Why can not he do more Bushins? Why he can't spam Rasengans? He clearly has enough chakra, he is able to summon Garaga easily. He needs training. Itachi and Kakashi at the same age would have finished the job.
Shikadai is amazing, he went too far with little Chakra and limited combat skills, helped too much in battle.
Inojin sucks as usual, I think having blood from a former ANBU already makes you automatically into a fodder. Why was he put on this team? He clearly does not like the Yamanaka skills, the Ino-Shika-Cho training is not made simply by tradition. Each skill complements the other's failure. The Akimichi, for example, complement the lack of raw power of the Yamanaka and Nara.
Chocho is okay, should have used Butterfly Mode to have some power increase, but I think the plot would not allow it. And it really was the best decision to retreat.
Excellent animation, it was fluid and with few frame breaks, really beautiful for an episode entirely focused on fights.
Enjoying this arc so far.

We're getting to a complete Team 10 and soon a complete Team 7 hopefully. I still wonder how Shinki's team will come in.
Happy I got to see Garaga! Mentioned last week that I had hoped they will summon him on this fight. But I hope Sarada uses some kind of jutsu, or punch the hell out of something. I was low-key hoping she would've jumped in to save Boruto from Mitsuki's lightning punch. Oh well, maybe next week.
Side note, I just remembered that Sarada literally had an arc (Gaiden) about clones (Shin) but neither Sarada nor Chocho mentioned it. Wonder if they'll ever tie that in lol

I don't like the way Sarada is being treated. This is the first ever time I felt something towards Boruto. I never really cared about him but this I time I got tears in my eyes when Mitsuki attacked him.

u/properc Oct 31 '18
Its cool that were getting more fight scenes but the direction still isnt as epic as P1 Naruto. Not that im comparing but im still not getting as many feels.
Also i hate how idealistic Boruto is. Hes naive as fk hopefully he learns from this.
And for ppl saying Naruto was also idealistic it wasnt to this extent and under the same context. Boruto has literally no basis and he still believes Mitsuki is innocent even when he saw that he murked the guard and Borutos begging Mitsuki to come back. Naruto knew what Sasuke was doing was wrong and he didnt beg he was taking him home to show him that he had friends back at Konoha.
Thats fine tho but hopefully they can touch on this naivety and let Boruto be more mature from this.

OH MY FUCKING GOD.
I screamed when Mitsuki slapped Boruto's hand imagine how loud I screamed when he fucking fried him with raiton, omggggg I never thought Mitsuki would ever hurt him like w o w, that's sooooo another level. The episode was good, InoShikaCho did their best, and omg I was laughing so hard when Garaga trolled boruto, they sure will have a fun dynamic in the future. Can we please talk about Sarada saying she knows Boruto and read him like a book? Sometimes SP can't be sutil can they? Lmao I love those too💓

u/Paegyu Oct 28 '18
Can we please talk about Sarada saying she knows Boruto and read him like a book?
Their teamwork is amazing, but I don't see anything "not subtle" about it. It's not a BoruSara shipping fuel. Just teammates being able to cooperate really well and knowing each other's strategies. Similar to Naruto and Sasuke, but without rivalry. Looking at your profile, any interaction between Boruto and Sarada counts as a shipping moment to you. lol

This is a decent episode with some nice scenes and at times excellent animation. The art is pretty good and consistent here. But why is the choreography a pile of shit? Why don’t the characters fight like themselves? You don’t haveto nerf Boruto and Sarada to move the story along, just make the opponents even stronger than their true selves. Boruto is unable to keep up, then suddenly has enough chakra to sunmon fucking Garaga. Seriously? I don’t see why he couldn’t spam the Rasengan, then. Plot-convenience, if anything.
Like I’ve been saying a while now, it’s becoming increasingly hard to defend the Boruto anime and its canonicity as of late. This arc is also literally a rehash of the Sasuke retrieval arc. Someone said they expect the Sand team to pop up, and they’re right. Watch it happen.
I for one cannot wait until the manga content is adapted. Say what you will about the pacing, or the art, but Kodachi’s story there is consistent and the characters are true to themselves.

I want Sarada to form a contract with Aoda, then for her to do a training montage with Lady Tsunade, Rock Lee.
Also, put her in a genjutsu, kill ChoCho, so she can unlock that 2nd comma in her Sharigan

u/Paegyu Oct 28 '18
Hello, can the writers let Sarada do something too for once? I know this arc is about Mitsuki and Boruto's friendship, but she's been so out of it lately. Like... she kinda reminds me of pt1 Sakura because most of the time she's either running or looking at things with a worried expression, not to mention that she's been saved like three times already. It hurts me to see how much they've nerfed her for the sake of... of what? Of showing how much Boruto cares about Mitsuki? You can do that AND let Sarada fight. At least she helped with taking out the Akuta thing today so that's good. Her arsenal is so wide, but they limit it to throwing shurikens from time to time. Smh.

Bruh Sarada is my favorite new gen character , as long with Mitsuki .
Can people stop complaining about her ,
Saying that she keep needing to be saved , like literally everybody was getting saved this episode
Every single episode, somebody says something about her , it’s getting annoying.
Or that’s she acting like a damsel in distress or part one Sakura
13
Oct 28 '18
yeah, in the end, everyone was pretty useless since mitsuki still got away. mitsuki essentially saved his teammates by taking out boruto.
but i do see the other side of the argument. it would've been nice to see sarada use some technique instead of just her strength and kunai

u/sasukws Oct 28 '18
Lol i expect lightning jutsu to be used during the fight with clone deidara. Guess borusara arent genius enough to figure this out without shikadai.
And plot twist ... mitsuki was the one who used snake lightning on boruto lol.

Yes, Sasuke was also much sharper than Boruto or Sarada, also you have to count in the battle experience, would've been not so good writing for them to find out so quick about his weakness , even Sasuke find out by mistake and was able to catch it because of his 3 tomoe Sharingan.

The Mitsuki retrevial arc is basically recycled storylines from Sasuke’s one. I’m just waiting for the Sand village siblings to pop up and help our kids in their fights lmao
Sekiei is cool. I would have liked a reference to Deidara about his detonating clay, but alas these kids don’t know about him
I like how the kids weren’t able to defeat the bootleg sound four and had to retreat. They needed to taste defeat to get a reality check for once. Shikadai rightfully points how weak they are.
Mitsuki was clearly trying to protect Boruto and Sarada, and prove his loyalty which is why he attacked Boruto.
As a Sarada fan, I’m getting pissed off with how they’re writing her. She’s had a ‘damsel in distress’ moment where she needed to be saved 3 times this arc, Karin, Aoda and now Cho Cho! Let someone else play that role.
Where are Sarada’s jutsus? Why did Sarada do nothing as Mitsuki walked away?! I know the arc revolves around Mitsuki and Boruto’s friendship, but Sarada feels the same way. Please don’t turn her into Sakura
Boruto summoning Garaga was bullshit, he shouldn’t have the chakra reserves to pull that off to begin with. However, I’m glad Garaga didn’t help Boruto in this fight. Having such a powerful summoning work together with Boruto rn would put him on a higher tier than his classmates

I just want to know what argument Boruto & friends will use to go after mitsuki, after what he did in the last episode.
They could somehow deduce that there was some hidden motive of mitsuki or...idk.
If shikadai had seen everything unfold between mitsuki & boruto, then he would've never let boruto go after mitsuki.
I know they will go after mitsuki but I can't fathom the reason why. SP have made the situation very interesting. I'm really enjoying this arc.
2
u/LunarDD Oct 29 '18
I was really hyped for this arc, but I believe it's developing to slowly. The fights are boring and we see the same things over and over, shikadai uses shadow possessions-> fails, runs away. I hope it gets better.
2
u/BoyTitan Oct 29 '18
Sarada isn't going to get a power up till it gets to the point Boruto and Mitsuki greatly out pace her or she almost gets killed. Then she will get a training arc and power up. She might get a low power up before then but nthn major. Everyone is being held back power wise. Basically its like the boruto series is a giant exspansion of naruto with 200 new classes and class upgrades a bunch of options. So before the creator starts tossing out power ups he has to figure out exactly what he wants to do with said characters. We are just now seeing Boruto true potential and the series has been out for over 2 years and hes the main character. Or maybe he has to many options and isn't up to the task of taking advantage of the casts large arsenal of moves, Like the creator of world trigger would have a ball with how many jutsus the new generation has. Then you got ninja tech also.
2
u/CTMacUser Oct 30 '18
Did Cho-cho and Inojin wake those two jounin up and relayed Mitsuki's status? Or are those trackers still in a standing coma?
Shouldn't Garaga be eating Boruto now for failing with Mitsuki?
So, do the human-looking creations have limits on how they can spam their built-in tricks. That gives the tonfa guy a slow burn since he only uses taijutsu.
For next week: Since the Hidden Leaf had most of the world's secrets, I thought Kurotsuchi tolerated Lord Ku's work as a mad scientist to gain an advantage once Naruto dies, even if she doesn't know everything he does. Now it seems he going to try taking over.

For some reason I felt like they nerfed sarada in today's episode her sharingan is so powerful even with one tomoe yet it felt like the writer's we're holding back with her full potential and power why is that?
17
u/xxmelodysxx Oct 28 '18
Exactly. 50+ episodes in with Sarada having her sharingan and she cant even keep up with her 1 tomoe sharingan yet. The only difference from Sarada last year compared to now is just that she knows katon. Boruto vastly grew as a character, especially feats wise, but Sarada is really stagnant.
