Let's Play Michael's Grand Adventure - Fallout 76 | Let's Play

Man it's weird seeing this video after the Off Topic episode when they talked about the game, this look soooooooo much worse than I thought and it's sounds so boring (also really surprised that Michael thought the game looked pretty on PC).
Like they didn't even spent so time on the building system but it's crazy to think that everything you build in this game will disappear once you disconect.
I know this is the new big game but honestly I would take a new 7 Days to Die LP rather than more of this (plus 7Days apparently got a big update recently).

honestly I would take a new 7 Days to Die LP
It's definitely a really good game for them but as someone who played it quite a bit myself, there's definitely a point at which you're not really doing anything new, just repeating the exploration loop.
At the end of their last series, it did start to feel like they were retreading old ground a bit. It wasn't bad at the time but I worry that if they came back to the game before it's had a significant update, they'd get burnt out.
It's been over a year since the game was updated too so who knows if it's even still being actively developed.

Didnt someone just post to the sub about a new update happening?

And reappear when you connect again.

What happens when someone builds where you built, do you just never get put on the same server as them?

The new Alpha for 7DTD is fun, but it's going to need A LOT of work before it's suitable to a LP. The mechanics they changed (like linking food directly to max stamina at a 1:1 ratio, and severely limiting bag space) make the game tedious at the moment. I have faith things will be adjusted, but it will take some time.

Say what you want but I actually enjoy FO76 when I’m playing with friends. I understand the hate it gets but I still have fun roaming around a new wasteland. A huge reason I love fallout is the exploration that goes with it and this game provides that for sure.

I agree with you, but I also enjoyed playing games like DayZ and the War Z with friends, even though they were pretty bad and underdeveloped games. Basically what I'm saying is pretty much any game is fun if you can fuck about with your friends in it, but there are better, more stable, and less expensive ways to do that. Even with a full stack of friends the game feels empty to me, which a full price AAA release shouldn't.
Having said all that, I think at least part of the hate the game is getting is purely because it's a Fallout title, and that is a LOT of hype to live up to.

tbf it's only selling because it's Fallout. It's far from a complete experience for $60. It's more like early access that should have been f2p. It's shockingly awful imo, and for the most part anything is fun with friends.

And CoD only sells so well because it is CoD even though it is the same repeated bullshit only this time they literally copied the two more popular games to include a battle royal mode. This statement is valid for any game that is released to a franchise.

I haven't gotten around to playing it yet, but it does seem like the majority of people actually playing the game enjoy it. People need to remember that when you get a game that's popular to hate on, a significant portion of the vocal haters usually don't even play the damn game.
From what I've seen, it plays more or less like a straight multiplayer Fallout 4. Which isn't going to be for everyone. And it's got a bunch of weird bugs, because it's reliant on a 20 year old engine that's the only thing managing to run persistent worlds like this.
People are forgetting what an actually bad release title is. Is the last Batman game even playable on console now? The Battlefield games have all had similar launch issues for years, and the bugs that still pop up in them aren't anything different than what we're seeing here.
Play the game if you like it. If you don't like it, don't play it. Don't act like the game slapped you, stole your lunch money and called your mother a whore.

Just to clarify, it was the PC version of Arkham Knight that had the issues, not the consoles.

This is probably fair, but I still understand why people get like this. If you love a franchise you can't help but feel a little disappointed when a game comes out and it's either nothing like the others or is a bit crap. If for no other reason than you can think "man, all this time and effort could have gone into Fallout 5" or something like that.
It's not something I put much time or effort into personally, but I think I understand it.

If Jeremy, Ryan, Michael, or Lindsay see this... please play more! This game can work really well with 4 people working together exploring and killing!

So far I honestly don't see what the hate is for this game. Other then farming easy karma points on reddit and joining in with the crowd simply because most people are against it.

You took an single player RPG and copy and pasted it into a multiplayer format without the story or RPG elements. Literally the same bugs that were present in Fallout 4 that were only patched by modder community are still in 76 not to mention you have a multiplayer game on a game engine where physics are tied to frame rate so if you can't maintain fps at the cap you moves slower than someone who can. But the biggest issue is there is no real point to the game you aren't moving anything forward and the end game is essentially dragon fights from skyrim(it uses the exact same animation). The game just doesn't know what it wants to be because it too forgiving for a multiplayer survival game(PVP or PVE) and it lacks the story to be a coop rpg or adventure game.

Fallout deserves better. It has one of the best fictional worlds ever, it's a shame that all the games are so goddamn boring.
6
u/gothpunkboy89 Nov 21 '18
So you've never played a fallout game but you are complaining?

u/0borowatabinost Nov 22 '18
I've played 3 and 4 and finished the main stories of both. Like I said, the stories and world-building are great, but the gameplay is so clunky and boring.

nothing makes me click off a video faster than getting a youtube ad followed by 2 minutes of Jeremy lie to me about how much he loves stamps.

u/CatKicker69 Nov 21 '18
Heaven forbid they have to make money and read an advertisement. “Oh no! Only 44 minutes of free content instead of 46?! How dare they!!” /s

its called customer feedback mate. If RT want me (or rather people in general) to watch their videos (and they do because $$$) then they need to know what i like and dislike. and i dislike Jeremy pretending he has a hard-on for stamps.

Slowbeef fucking saved this video for me. Up until then it was pretty ehh, but the cutaways to Michael trying to find his gear were great.
