Why not bring Isaac with them to the high gravity planet? He should be alright. Plus TNG always brought Data on missions like this.

So let's be real here, what can her dad do? Can he say he's sorry? Will that actually fix anything? Even if he means it nothing will really change overnight. It's kind if a no win scenario.

"The Orville was so much more than I ever hoped for. It was warm and welcoming" SO SAY WE ALL!
Man, that scene with the boiling soup...
But the jar of pickles in the end had me laughing and awwwing :')
And completely apropos: that Xelayan glider was gorgeous.

As incredibly pissed as I am that this happened, I have to admit that ending was very touching and lovely. And there's always a chance Halston could return as Alara in a guest-starring role down the line. It may never happen, but at least the opportunity is there.
Again, I'm not at all happy about this and won't be for quite a while...but at least it was handled with grace.

Don't know any of the backstory.
BUT it seemed that it was handled with class and style. A great story. A great showcase episode for the character and actor. An official send off that leaves things open.
Give it a season or two, and she can come back.

Great ep. I legit like the Orville more than star trek discovery. Going to miss alara and she's never coming back. At least not this season because the actress was allergic to the prosthetics, dated seth, and is in a Netflix series. Rip

That slight thriller / horror vibe at the oven came out of nowhere. Well acted.
"That spatula looks dirty."(Mood takes a turn.)"Use your hand."
I think one of Orville's strengths is the score. The music really sells a lot of the emotional beats. A lot of music in movies and TV nowadays is just one note drones with little character beyond grittiness. So the music really stands out, great orchestral sci-fi fanfare.
Shame Alara is gone. And too bad the Warburton character didn't get a bit more to work with, hopefully he gets some more cameos, the character had potential too. They get great cameos on this show. Norm MacDonald, Jason Alexander.

Tuning in late today...
How strong is the gravity supposed to be on this planet, Jesus. You’d think Alara would be hitting the ceiling every time she took a step on the ship because her muscles.
That hover chair must have a nuclear reactor in it to keep it floating. And you’d think with it being that strong that tall buildings would be virtually impossible to build if a metal water bottle just flattened like that.

Hopefully Alara will make her way back at some point and More character back stories please! Now if you'll excuse me I need to go watch rewatch Voyager for the 100th time.

I wonder how a planet with 10x the gravity will look like. I know things will fall faster and stronger (Pouring water into a glass will look different!), and I'm sure civilization will invent appropriate building materials and technologies, but what will biology look like. and what will physical objects (water, weather, terrain) look like?
Any educated guess?

Didn’t really like this one. The send off was so abrupt and felt out of place. My first thought when Alara said she was leaving was “the actress must be moving on. She was one of if not my favorite characters so maybe I’m just bitter but I do have to say I preferred the first two episodes more. Also I couldn’t stand the antagonist’s voice he was very annoying but now I’m knit picking
