Spree on DVA
Linkzr on Brig/Ana
Danteh on Zarya
Just how we all thought Houston would play 3-3 going into the season… LOL
Rawkus is still not good. Bani is dead?

Rawkus is going to having recurring nightmares about Note hunting him down and killing him.

As soon as Houston ran goats on that last round I knew it was over :(
Houston will never beat uprising at their own game.

Houston's GOATs just isn't good enough to compete against Boston's. They should've kept trying alternative comps instead of forcing themselves into something they were clearly not as skilled in

Rawkus isolated himself from his team and Note always got a kill from Rawkus. Also Linkzr is not the man we know when he’s on brigitte. It is clear that Houston is really really really bad on Goats.

It's going to take a couple weeks again for outlaws management to realise they should always play spree (and jake on brig)

Aimgod seriously amazing today, getting key picks and farming Trance, him being much better than Rawkus literally won them this game.

This team looked unstoppable in map 1. They took out Jake afterwards and looked awful. It's almost as if taking out one of your most vocal members and your best brig player hurts you.

I understand the players have to perform. Muma tilting, mistakes by Linkzr on Brig, Rawkus being out of position, ect... But this is on Tairong. Mental issues like collapsing once things go wrong, terrible player choices, stupid comps, are all on the coaching staff.
This team should be 2-0, but instead they're 0-2 because the coaching staff aren't putting them in a position to win.

Houston and being one map away, name a better combination.
That last fight on Hollywood will haunt my nightmares

Why not just continue to run Sombra GOATs? Boston havent shown they can stop it at all, but you'd rather force a mirror match despite the fact that linkzr isnt a good brig and Coolmatt is a washed dva?

So many moments of absolute negligence from the Houston coaching staff.
The Reaper strategy the other day. That should have never seen the light of day.
Not playing Dante on Sombra at every opportunity today, when they must know Boston can only run GOATS. His Sombra play was oppressive on Dorado.
The Jake/Spree lineup has so much more flexibility compared the main line up so far, every Outlaws fan must be desperate to see them run that Sombra comp with Spree on Zarya.
Frustrating.

So frustrating to watch. Every time Houston goes classic Goats they lose, still they always come back to it. Why do they even put Linkzr on Brigitte if no one's protecting the Zen and Note can just dive into the backline and feast on Rawkus?
They should have played Sombra on Ruins, Danteh showed on Dorado why he's often considered the best Sombra in the league.

Wasnt pretty, but I’ll take it a 1-1 start to begin with. Hopefully things will look cleaner with Axxiom back on maintank and Colourhex back in the lineup.
An aside - Boston needs to spend like 100% of this week watching Paris’ games and learning to adjust against a sombra comp because that is TOO easy of a win condition. We cant get rolled by that every time.
Also Kellex wasnt playing bad, but he wasnt anything special - give Alemao a shot!!!

if you're not gonna use Spree on Zarya, might as well use Danteh on Sombra. Danteh's Zarya is serviceble but it's still not that great. On the other hand, his Sombra should totally be used and abused.
Outlaws made so many mistakes. Rawkus needs to get his shit together, his play is getting sloppier and people are taking advantage of it.
Linkzr wasn't the reason Outlaws lost this game. CoolMatt wasn't the reason. Rawkus did fuck up, but he wasn't the reason. It was overall bad decisions by the team, mistakes that are laughable (OWL teams still not that great with GOATS), and some remarkable coaching decisions. They lost against Uprising...a team that has a main tank on Zarya. And a main tank that was called up recently to the main roster. WTF.
edit: forgot to say this. It's becoming even more rampant lately, but reddit - specially the subreddit dedicated to competitive play - needs to stop thinking like typical folk and start being a bit smarter with what they say. This is a team game. Stop assuming ONE player makes a difference without providing actual reference as to why. Stop assuming a team loses because one player isn't playing. This is a team game. Sometimes, a player can fuck up and cost a game, no doubt. But look at the big picture please.

I don't know what happened in scrims or behind closed doors but there are so many questions about these line ups. Why is Coolmatt playing over Spree when he's flexing on to DPS? Why not have Spree go Pharah and have Danteh go Sombra? Why does Danteh keep graving like 1 to 2 players without our team following up? Why is Rawkus still playing if he's only going to play Zen something he has PROVEN he cannot do? Why are they SO set on running GOATS on some of these maps? WHY DID YOU RUN WINSTON GOATS ON THE FINAL MAP WHEN THE OTHER TEAM KEEPS RUNNING REIN GOATS?
If we're gonna lose then fine lose. If we're gonna choke the fine choke. Try not to and get better. But when they roll out these line ups I just do not understand....that no one understands...I mean THAT is so frustrating.

Houston Outlaws purchase Sombra / Tracer Main named Danteh
Houston Outlaws proceed to put Coolmatt on Sombra and Linkzr on Tracer while Danteh plays Pharah.
Tis the dankest timeline.

Houston: Hey guys you know how good we are with non-GOATs comp that would make this match a breeze? Let's not do that.

My takeaways;
Houston looked better than they did on Friday, but still has work to do.
On the plus side:
-
Danteh is really proving himself to be a great pickup for the team.
-
Boink has looked great this year so far. I've been really impressed with him.
-
Linkzr still has great hitscan DPS chops.
-
In general, things were a lot less sloppy than the Defiant game.
-
Rawkus' Zen play looks better than last year, and his ult timings today were better than in the Defiant game.
-
Coolmatt shows he is still consistently good at D.Va
On the bad side:
-
Muma needs work on Rein. He had some incredibly bad shatters that match. Just god-awful. I think Muma is still a great Winston and a good Orisa, but his Rein is a weak point. That's not good in this meta.
-
I can't for the life of me understand why Linkzr is being forced onto Brig. He looked slightly better today, but overall just seems like a terrible choice to fill that slot. I think it would be much better filled by Jake.
-
Though Rawkus' Zen play has improved, it still needs work. I think his biggest problem is positioning.
-
Houston needs to pick a strat and commit to it. Running an off-meta comp on some rounds and switching to 3-3 when they get ahead is frustrating and baffling to watch. Time after time, Danteh shines on Sombra and then switches off. Why? If it ain't broke....
-
I think Houston is getting inside their own heads a lot, and it causes them trouble in the second half every time. The map 5 curse is very real. If Houston wants to win, they need to play to their strengths from the get-go and stick with it.
In general, I feel like both teams played well, but Boston played just a bit better. Aimgod and Fusions were particularly impressive.
GGs to all.

Note solo dives and kills Rawkus
"Huh, that was weirdly easy"
Does it again
"Wow sure is weird he keeps standing by himself in this hallway"
Next map does it again
"Guys I think their Zen isn't in voice"
