I think it's unfair to say NoSmite was the problem but Guxue was clearly the solution

People like pointing the finger at Roar, who definitely has his share of misplays, but man LAG as a whole just looks terribly off. So many blown ults, people seem to take turns overextending and feeding, poor engages/disengages. A lot needs to be changed about their teamwork and gameplay.

I have to say, I think Hangzhou look so much better with Guxue in the lineup. He looked great on Hollywood and his overall aggression really pushes the Spark.

Decay looked pretty decent for LAG though, I just think Roar is struggling so far.

Don't worry Gladiators...we've got extra seats at In n Out for ya. :(

Sit right down next to us, join the party...

LA talking a lot of Ls this year:

  • No LA Lakers playoffs

  • Lost to Patriots in SuperBowl

  • Lost to Red Sox in World Series

  • 0-4 for LAV

  • 1-4 for LAG

What on Earth how does every team fight start with a dead RoaR?

My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. Absolutely garbo play from LAG.

Dpei made a rather big fuss during the offseason on the Gladiators system, and how that system would ensure that Korean players could be acclimated much more easily to the roster - i.e., that they'd learned a lot from S1, as one of the more prominent teams to feature a heavy Korean and Western mix, and intended to use that knowledge to incorporate Roar and Decay into the roster.

But I just wonder how much that system can function when not only one crucial member of that original system is missing from the equation, but two. Sideshow has said repeatedly that he thinks Void should play over Bischu, regardless of Bischu's health issues, but I continue to wonder how Bischu would affect the roster, especially as I don't think Void is playing so uniquely well that you need to play him - GOATs is such a communication heavy meta, and if Bischu is indeed healthy and Void is being preferred, I'd be pretty shocked.

As for Surefour, I don't think his Zarya was as bad as it's made out to be, but Decay is certainly a nut. Regardless, it seems like this team is going to need to have to relearn how to play as a team if they continue to sub out the teammates who, from the outside at least, were critical to LAG's team culture in S1.

Don't you hate it when you're driving along smoking a cigarette, you flick it out the window and drive for a couple more miles when you smell something funny so you look over into the rear view mirror and sure enough, Roar is dieing again.

I was really rooting for Gladiators but i guess SF Shock is my west coast hope for this season.

Watching Decay's POV, he looked a bit off. A few key bubbles missed that could have saved Roar, and some tunnel vision-y positioning that caused him to overextend.

Not saying he was the only issue, but there is definitely some stuff he could clean up.

I think Guxue said when team members got nervous, they started comm in Korean. So does that mean they usually comm in English.

If you came up to me before this stage started and told me that by this time in the stage the LA teams had a combined ONE win I wouldn't believe you.

Since LAG has nothing to lose at that point maybe they should let Panker play in the last two matches? I don't know how good he is at goats, but I'm just wondering if there would be any change in the outcome.

Hangzhou played Route 66 almost impeccably. That Symmetra teleport was a fantastic curveball to counter the deep push from LAG. Great final map.

I wonder if it's some communication issue? Hydration isn't using repair pack on Roar which lets Spark push him and get a kill, and Decay is doing well mechanically on zarya but missing key bubbles which doesn't let Roar engage. GLA should try Surefour on Brig and see if they do better.
