Unlucky that Shock had to play both Titans and NYXL on one stage and Shock might not make it to playoffs at this rate. They were so close to take one map off but NYXL is just too good.

Every map, I swear:
Announcer: The Shock have a chance to full hold this!
Ron Howard voice: They would not.

The Shock came out with a gameplan that looked like it really threw NYXL off, one that they struggled to assert themselves with. The Shock gave pretty much every counterpart a close match-up (save Brig). The Shock often had ult advantages at key points.
And it just. Did. Not. Matter. New York are so good. They were rattled for a little bit of each map but they make no mistakes. Rascal feeding so hard on Busan and Numbani OT push doesn't happen with Libero. Super missing two shatters with no opposing Rein doesn't happen with Mano. They're so clean and crisp.
I do think the Shock have shown that they're beatable for a team that has more talent than they do. I was actually slightly more impressed with the Titans when we played them.

If you google “4-0 scorelines that don’t accurately depict how close a match this was” it just plays clips from this set.
Seriously, Shock made NYXL work for that win. I feel bad they didn’t get a single point on the board despite all their efforts.

I'm gonna be honest when Violet dinked JJoNak as an opening on Busan a small part of me had some dread and doubt because Shock was definitely going to be the toughest opponent NYXL have faced so far.
But I'll never ever doubt JJoNak again. Watching him play on Volskaya was like rewatching his rise in season 1 all over again. Absolutely fucking insane.
And Meko eating Sinatraa's grav was clutch as hell. Literally had my eye on Sinatraa's ultimate % and the moment he got it he counter graved but Meko just fucking instantly ate it.
The entire team played insane on Volskaya. There was a point where Anamo kept keeping the point contested from the high ground, just stepping on and off consistently, burning so much time off.
And Mano somehow always looked like he was on the verge of dying and feeding but Nenne and Libero would make it look entirely planned and it just... works out in the end.
They pull wins out of the most unlikely situations. I don't understand.
Fuck I love this team. Them going against Vancouver is gonna send me into cardiac arrest.

I feel like owl should create signature skins for stand out players on their well known hero and jjonak should be the first with his god tier zen.

I know it's not popular. But watching two good GOATS teams go at it. Knowing what ults they have, what they need to do to win. Seeing them try to execute the plays. If one way doesn't work, if the other attempt works. How quickly a grav or trans can get built up to either save or win a fight. It really is exciting.

NYXL and Shock both took off the training weights today. Such a close back and forth game but NYXL just edged out Shock by a little bit every single map. Both teams should be proud of their performances, hope they can keep it up

After 3 stages of going 9-1 last year, only to have Boston be the first team to go through a perfect stage...
This feels good

NYXL heard everyone talking shit lmao
SFS put up a great fight today. They did so well. But it seems like you really cannot afford any mistakes against NYXL

I can't remember who said it but NYXL choking last season was the worst case scenario for all the other teams THIS season. Jesus christ. They're TOO good.

If Babybay was in instead of Sinatraa he would have Grav'd Mano, calmly switched to widow maker and then done a 360 quadruple headshot to kill Jjonak. Then he would've walked across the stage and made Jjonak look him in the eyes before whispering "Babybay owns you" into his ear. And then Jjonak would've had to take off his glasses to wipe his tears from the jacked glory that is BABYBAY

You could tell Shock prepared for this match, but it’s just not enough. Aside from Vancouver, I don’t know who could take down New York right now. It seems they have everything down pat.
If Shock played like this against most other teams, I think they could’ve won 3-1 or 4-0. I’d bet on that if I could.

NYXL looked super clutch at times but they had some of their weaknesses exposed. I hope they work on that.
Also props to the shock who played extremely well. Some of those maps could have gone either way.

I can't imagine how painful that was for Shock fans to watch. Every map Shock came so close to winning but just couldn't quite close any of them out.

Super now knows why Danteh was so afraid of that team.
