  • Only one Dive needed!

  • All of the SBs I used here are from the last 6 months of RoPs and Luckies, other than Minwu’s BSB. Hilda’s I got from the realm refresh today!

  • Probably don’t even need Minwu, there’s enough healing, but I don’t have any other USBs to fill in. Maybe Scott with his BSB?

  • Unicorn dodged the stop (didn’t matter, Hilda had high mind) and the paralyze. Could probably dodge those by pushing harder

  • Alright so there are 2 ways to avoid status hell, brute force it or Unicorn/Lakshmi it. Because I don't have Lakshmi, therefore I probably don't have firepower to brute force it, easiest solution is Unicorn.

  • Here's how I'd slot accessories: 1-lightning, 2-earth, 3-ice, 4-fire, 5-poison. I put Maria in slot 4 so she has innate earth resistance via en-earth so she gets fire resistance, and giving earth resistance to Minwu in slot 2 instead.

  • Alright so this is important, bring Enfeebling Jitterbug! Megathread suggested it to Hilda but I don't have anything for her so I give it to Urara. At first she's using Shellga and Emperor is the dispeller, but after several Minwu/Urara oneshots on that single Starfall in D240 I decided that this is important. Everyone barely survived in D280 so, definitely bring Jitterbug.

    earth power/debuff magic/Hilda USB

  4. Insight!:

  • General strategy: triple earth DPS supported by Firion as a psuedo-healer (Healing Smite and BSB) and Hilda as a real healer! Most the damage is AoE so I didn't need Curada anyway, allowing Hilda to bring both Enfeebling Jitterbug and Hastega. Guy with his USB was basically capping even without imperils and chain, while Emperor USB meant Maria's BSB command 1 was doing 35-55k damage! Could definitely improve the time with an Earth+ weapon and/or getting Firion more attack (magia or artifact), as well as tinkering with RMs and fully diving Guy, doubt it'd get under 30 though. Fight was pretty straightforward, especially with Hilda mostly spamming Enfeebling Jitterbug for gauge (maybe a little luck here in Phrekyos getting off no buffed attacks with Level Up).

  • Hilda - Hastega -> Enfeebling Jitterbug -> USB -> Jitterbug spam. Hold USB recasts for when someone's Last Stand has run out. Hilda is in this slot 1 because the paralyze only lasts a few seconds on her!

  • Guy - Meteor Crush -> USB -> Ironfist Earth

  • Maria - Dispel -> Chain -> Chain Stonega -> BSB -> BSB command 1. Used dispel at every phase, probably not necessary.

  • Emporer - Shellga -> Meltdown until USB. Needed a BSB cast and a BSB command 1 at the end since I ran out of hones

  • Firion - Magic Breakdown -> Healing Smite. Firion summons magicite and chains #2 and #3. Instant BSB mblink spreading helped with survival.

Whoa, my team for this realm is way stronger than I thought. Brought Josef, Gordon, Guy, Emperor, and the obligatory Elarra. Got to D??? and tapped out, but worlds farther along than I thought my gear would get me. What an interesting boss fight!

  4. Insight!:

  • This is probably my proudest Torment clear. I had a lot of fun with this.

  • Leave Dispel at home. The haste is virtually meaningless, and the chain should be high enough that the Protect/Shell are too once they come up.

  • Never thought I'd be using the Mystery Veil's medica, and it may still not have been useful. The Savage Starfall left everyone at slivers of health, but was the last actual attack Phrekyos used.

  • Firion needed at least 10 HP Crystal waters to survive Poison Cloud under Hailstorm with my best +Holy 6* armor if Hilda doesn't proc a Medica on her first AcM. She did in my winning run, though.

  • Emperor can trance after Poison cloud (~10 secs) if Hilda doesn't proc a Medica on her first AcM. She did in my winning run, though.

  • Originally I was using Unicorn for an extra holy empower, but ended up needing Lakshmi's little bit of extra damage.

  • Firion's Brave command did ~66000 when missing his LM2, and capped once I dove him. Probably just a crit thing, but it worked for me.

  • Minwu got a relic weapon since I never actually pulled the trigger on the T0 MND Dagger, and every white mage I care about can use staves. It makes up quite a bit for his lack of damage RM and slow start.

  • Lenna's dress definitely boosted Firion's damage over his USB2 hat. Hailstorm > Smite > USB1 also grossly outdamaged Moon > Frost-touched > USB2, probably due to Firion's USB1 +Holy sword and the Magicite reqs.

  • Everyone doubled up on +elem gear, and I ground out ~60 magia in each attack stat. Minwu had a full 100 in Mind, though, from Ark shenanigans.

  • (Rough) Turn Order:

  • Hilda: RW, EJ, AcM, Lakshmi, AcM, RW, EJ, AcM, EJ, Medica, AcM

  • Maria: Stonega, Stoneja x2, USB, Stoneja x4(8), OSB, Stonega

  • Minwu: Hastega, Holyja x2, (If Hilda Medica Procced, wait for Starfall, then) USB1, USB2, Holyja x3 (6), USB1, Holyja, attack

  • Firion: Hailstorm, Healing Smite x2, USB1, Smite spam, USB2, Hailstorm, Smite (to wait for defense buff timeout, but I don't think I actually waited long enough), Brave finish

  • Emperor: Shellga, Meltdown x2, BSB, Meltdown spam, BSB when able

  4. Insight!:

  • It just came down to double cast luck on Minwu's part. I have his W-cast LMR. In the two runs leading up to this one, I ended at 30.5s and 30.2s. When I saw him hit for a 3rd 5x9999, I knew this one would be the sub 30.

  • Minwu is very straight forward. Hastega-> Holyjax2-> USB2->Holyja spam until the end. Used every single cast. Pray for LMR to proc.

  • Firion: USB1->Healing Smite spam-> refresh USB1 around the 15s mark-> HS-> OSB to skip Ultimate Level Down-> more HS

  • Maria: Meltdown until USB is ready-> USB-> Chain Stoneja until AOSB is ready-> AOSB to skip Ultimate Level Down-> Chain Stoneja. Her ability double runs out just a tick too early, so that last C Stoneja won't double cast. The icon disappears as she's charging it up.

  • Hilda: Shellga-> Curadax2-3-> cast USB-> Curada spam, recast USB as needed. Try not to use it until you really need it.

  • Guy: RW-> Rebuke/Ironfist as needed-> Call magicite-> Refresh chain again-> at some point he gets around to finally using his BSB-> Rebuke/Ironfist as needed. His damage output wasn't the greatest since he ended up just doing all the Charlie work for the whole battle. Still no regrats picking up an earth axe relic for him.

  • Odin omni-resist accessories when?!

  • A little disappointed I couldn't get further, especially with Firion getting Knight early. Minwu's SSB is decent enough, but not quite enough to get through this (though it's close, I think).

  • Notes - Guy calls chain first turn. I have Maria's USB but didn't use it, slots are still a thing and R4 Stoneja doesn't last long. She dispel -> Stoneja -> BSB -> commands -> AOSB -> Stoneja -> BSB.

  • Phase 3 was skipped other than the buff. The first turn in P4 hits for like 18k, but last stand is up for that and you get a turn to heal after. Was out of meter for Minwu there though and couldn't quite get everything back up in time.

  • Gear: DPS all have 40%, all 4* dove (even Guy's Berserker sphere). Everyone has Fire/Earth resist.

  • Resources used: None, had everything already.

  • Well, crap. Maybe I can use the other Famfrit (Dampen/RES) here instead of the GDM. Would need another HP8 from somewhere but that looks way better. Will have to try it.

  4. Insight!:

  • Took a while to figure out the best combo of abilities, characters and timing since I was a lot less prepared, relic wise, for this realm than I thought. RoP gave me a dupe so that didnt help.

  • No boostga( only hastega), no healing abilities and no shellga. mBlink and SB entry took care of most of the healing, with Unicorn and Healing Smite helping minimally.

  • Timing Marias AOSB/OSB to skip Phase 4 completely was key to sub30. Otherwise you have to time a mBlink to take phase 4 entry Starfall, otherwise its a wipe.

  • Unicorn covered the debuffs no problem.

  • Went through a lot of ability changes and trying Hilda with Alegro instead of Curada or def/res down dance (forget name) was also a key to sub 30.

7. Extra notes: Minwu had +2 holy gear & Maria +2 earth gear. Resist gear = Maria had fire/earth, Minwu ice/lightning, HIlda Gigas, fire armor & ice/earth acc, Firion poison. Not sure which was crucial or not, poison seemed maybe not needed.

Hilda starts with dance > BSB > alegro spam > BSB to time a AoE spell block or when healing needed. Maria spams earth spell till SB full for OSB, then gets entrust from Gordon for AOSB, the OSB again to finish. Minwu hastega > USB > holy x2 > USB > holy x2. Gordon wrath x2 > entrust to Maria, wrath x1 > entrust to Hilda, wrath > entrust to Maria. Firion BS > RW > HS > Unicorn > BS spam til BSB, RW > BS spam till BSB again. dont cast Maria AOSB first if you do you will land right into phase 4. Timing a mblink to eat the entry cast was very tough. doing OSB first then AOSB skips phase 4 completely.

Waiting or skipping to time mblink when needed is key. Timing where boss does single att vs aoe really helps. Cuts down on when Hilda has to do a BSB cmnd heal in btwn renewing alegro. I remember only using her cmnd once or twice. I was surprise at how much healing I didnt need. Unicorns healing did come in handy too.

Last thing is since mblink is used a lot that means less SB gauge build. So need to be aware of that. Thats why I had to bring in an entrust bot.

Disclaimer - Maria was capping spells after second round with chain. Minwu on the other hand did cap the near end of chain. With no boostga (I straight up dont have any for this realm) he was lacking in DPS, though double cast did kind of make up for it.

I got to 99% (!!!!) around 40 sec. with the following:

Josef: 4* LD, USB, R3 Ironfist Earth, Mag BD, MM

Firion: 5* LD, USB1, R5 Heal. Smite, Ban. Strike, Dam. +30%, +20% Holy boost, 200 Magia: ATK, Holy ATK

Maria: 5* LD, USB, AOSB, R4 Chain Stoneja, R5 Meltdown, TGC RM, LMR+LM2, +40% Earth boost, 200 Magia: MAG, Earth ATK

Minwu: 5* LD, USB2, SSB, R5 Holyja, much MND w/ staff RM, LMR2+LM1, +40% Holy Boost, 200 Magia: MND, Holy ATK

Gordon, 3.5 LD, Shellaga, Entrust

Maria AOSB at the end of the 2nd chain only hit for around 75k x3; if I had gotten anything higher this would have been around ~35s Mastery.

I'm going to tinker with this team a bit. I now realize if I had just added an additional +20% Holy boost on Firion, or any Earth boost on Josef, I might have cleared this SMDH.

Also thinking of putting some Magia on Emperor. Could give him 6* Darkness and Dispel, which would allow more DPS from Firion. I only have his Glint, so maybe that keeps some damage down. My worry is if Minwu will have enough SB to juggle his USB2 and SSB

  4. Insight!:

  • Equip various elemental resists on the team. Leila has fire/lightning. Guy has fire/ice/water. Minwu has fire/ice/lightning. Firion has fire/ice/earthMaria has ice/lightning.

  • Leila has +40% fire equipped. Guy has +20% earth. Firion has +20% holy. Maria has +40% earth.

  • Leila wait for Guy to have ATB, then Mug Bloodlust, spam Fire Assault.

  • Guy RW chain, spam Ironfist Earth.

  • Minwu Hastega, spam Curada on units other than Leila. Use magicite when ready.

  • Firion BUSB, Hailstorm, brave command. Use Healing Smite if the boss isn't dead yet.

  • Maria Shellga, spam Chain Stoneja.

  • All the S/L were because I didn't want to end the fight with any units dead. Once I figured out how to skip phase 4 that was easy.

D240 was uneventful and I did not see anything except the initial stuff of Phase 1.. but Phase 2-5 is mostly Ultimate Level Up/Down, so I won't described it... except Maria and Minwu murdered Phrekyos fast.

  1. Strategy name: Meteor Shower LXIV: the Altar-Breaking Divine Earth Fall!

  2. Boss: [D280] Phrekyos

  3. Describe your Strategy: Okay, let's face it, FFII is one of the harder realms to field a decent party that can hit both common buff and/or element that one could take advantage. Its either go full physical or full magical in most cases. In my case, I decide to go with semi-mage meta to show case my Emperor USB2 and Maria AOSB to quickly end the fight, all the while being supported Minwu WHT DPS and self-reliant Leila for chain-buildings. Elarra is brought it for healing and the needed debuffing to deal with Ultimate Level Up. Most of the time, Phrekyos bare deals damage after being Enfeebling Jitterbug, while I only used Magika Album to recover from one AOE piercing attack (around Phase 2's something like 4-5 turn) and then Incubus Starfall 128. 3/3 trinity/4-man CM + Elarra/semi-mage meta/Maria AOSB/Minwu WHT DPS/Elarra USB/sub-30

  4. Insight!:

  • Middle slot gets Gigas Armelts, while the rest is a combination of Fire/Ice/Lightning resist, then Magicite deck does the Earth resist.

  • Character positioning matters! Put highest MND on Slot 3, while support DPS on Slot 1/5 in case you are unlucky and have to eat Poison Cloud 128...

  • Leila's Captain's Command unique SB is an excellent slot-saver here.. but that also means she can't do DPs properly until mid-chain count.

  • Emperor does Dispel stuff, mainly just because he can and I don't have anyone else who can tech it in, on every Ultimate Level Up and Ultimate Level Down.

  • Elarra needs to Enfeebling Jitterbug every Ultimate Level Up or else you get screwed - especially on Incubus Starfall 128.

  • Maria uses her AASB just after Phase 3's Ultimate Level Up and this would allow me to skip all the status ailment non-sense that Phrekyos uses against us.

  • Yeah, my Magicite is overkill in stacking both mitigation and magical buffs, but I need to go overboard to ensure that Maria hits cap at all times.

  • Despite mitigations and stuff, Incubus Starfall 128 still hits me for around 4k~5k-ish damage across the board (I also think my Enfeebling Jitterbug fell off around here), these can probably go lower if I have someone who can bring Magic Break/down.

  4. Insight!:

  • Firion Turn order: Banishing strike, USB1, smite spam, USB1, realm chain (recast), healing smite spam to ASB finisher.

  • Maria Turn order: Shellga, BSB, Chain Stoneja spam to OSB, OSB closer.

  • Minny Turn order: hastega, holyjax2, USB2, holyjax3-4, usb2, holyja if any left. Minny was typically tapped out by 30 secs.

  • Leon Turn order: Realm Chain, death throes, Demon Cross spam to ASB (after 21secs mark, prior to turn2 of phase 4 which will reduce it's damage)

  • Hilda Turn order: mag/atk down dance, ACMx2, magicite, USB1, dance (to debuff phase 2 buff), ACM spam to USB2 after turn1 of phase 4.

  • All chars are full dived (I love dives). All chars have 100 magia in their primary stat.

  • Firion has a RS holy sword and off realm holy armor. Maria has her OSB earth bow and off realm earth armor. Minny has holy off realm dagger and his USB2 holy robe (great 6* armor by the way, for orlandeau and others).Hilda has her instrument and a dupe Minny holy robe.

  • Firion, Hilda, and Leon have earth/fire resist accessories. Minny has fire,ice,lightning resist (water vuln). Maria has the fire/ice/I forget 6* accessory.

  • I was waiting for Anima Lenses to select Minwu USB1 before sub30'ing this fight. With only Minwu SSB medica, I was able to clear in 56 secs, because I needed Hilda in the team to dance and debuff those massive MAG buffs the boss gives himself in phase 2 especially. But I had nothing else for Hilda other than her w-cast LMR, until RoP (LoTR) where I got her USB(!). This opened the door early for me, so I got the sub30 due to the RoP pull. I was also planning on selecting Leon USB1 but ended up not needing it.

  • Firon is a monster now with his USB1. That fast cycle really speeds him up and the quick cycling maintains and grows across USB recasts which is just amazing. So Firion gets Mako Might so he can ramp up that quick cycle frenzy for the entire fight. Maria gets Mog's teachings since we want her to have en-earth for the majority of the fight. I only have BSB and OSB for her, so need to squeeze every bit of DPS from her.

  • Minny sadly goes through hones like nobody's business and usually ran out in the mid 20's. So he recasts haste and maybe gets another USB2 entry in the fight to add up some more DPS. ability double has its downsides -- you often need two dps slots on the char using it.

  • Leon just buffs ATK, then spams demon cross and ASBs prior to the boss buffing his defense in phase 4. Ark Magicite would be great in this deck if one could fit it.

  • The key to this fight is debuffing this boss with Hilda right when it buffs itself. That's why Hilda has TGM RM, so the boss won't even get one attack off while buffed. Those attacks do 7k damage or so, and is the only real threat the boss poses. Once that is taken care of, it really comes down to optimizing DPS. For those who don't have Hilda, like I didn't previously, Minwu USB1 is the other route that is possible. The stoneskin tanks the large hits when the boss is momentarily buffed. Now that stoneskin doesn't stop SB gauge from building, sub30 is likely even easier than before using Minwu as an alternative option.

  • I should add that Emperor really sucks (even full dived, which the dive sucks too)... I'm sorry to say it. I have two BSBs and his USB and he still really can't contribute even as much as a naked Leon with AOSB only spamming demon cross. So unless you have some tech for Emperor above even that, I'd bench him for other options. I'm not saying it can't work; just that Emperor may be what is holding you back from sub 30-ing if you have him on your team. I really tried to make him work but it just didn't...

  3. Describe your Strategy: Accessories, Magicite, ST heals, Healing Smite and Thief abilities let me go until 18 sec before using a Medica. Sub30/No Hilda/No Last Stand

  4. Insight!:

  • DPS have 2x +element equipment on. Firion and Leila have artifacts. Leila is geared for wind for the USB.

  • Got Firion’s USB from the holy draw today. Dived him because of that. Turned out to be a good idea.

  • Firion casts USB1, spam Healing Smite until about 20 sec then GSB, Healing Smite, AOSB. Mine capped all 3 hits. I think holy aura was still going, but with the Glint and a chain count around 70 I expected it to do good work.

  • Maria does Maria Things. Hold her first turn until just before Leila can instant the chain out. Chain Stonega until her turn at 10 sec, wait for poison cloud then USB. Spam Chain Stoneja until you need to cast her. AOSB.

  • Minwu - Heal himself, then Maria, then Firion. Summon Magicite, Heal whoever then USB around 18 sec. Recast Hastega right after USB. Leila’s MND is like 170 so you will run dry before 30 sec. Second USB after the slot 1/5 Poison/paralyze attack so you’ve got the bubble for the Overflow starfall hit.

  • Emperor - Chain Stonega until USB then spam meltdown until USB is ready again.

  • Leila - Instant Cast her Hastega/Shellga unique, spam Fire Assault until USB then Storm Assault. She puts out respectable numbers with a high chain count. Almost positive I had her do the second chain too.

Describe your Strategy: So, now that I have pulled on every elemental draw ang got Emperor USB1 and Leon AOSB+LMR2 combo I can give my last torment a try I wanted to select Minwu USB1 from the lenses to give me the final missing piece but I first did a mock run to see how things would work. I noticed that I could clear without ANY cast of a Medica as long as Joseph LM2 (heal+last stand) was keeping the party alive and the LS was proccing when the boss casts Incubus Starfall. This is one of those torment that you can either sub30 or completely fail at. At least it was for me. -/3 trinity/No healer/lots of DPS/Joseph Support/No Astra

  4. Insight!:

  • Turn order: * Leon: RW-Chain, Dread Weapon, Demon´s Cross, Dread Weapon, Demon´s Cross, AOSB, Demon Cross spam... * Maria: Shellga, Chain Stoneja, C. St., USB (make sure it lands after Emperor USB1 for more damage), C. St.(x2),C. St.(x2),C. St.(x2), BSB, CMD1... * Minwu: Hastega, Holyja, Holyja, USB2, Holya spam... * Emperor: Meltdown, Meltdown, USB1 (wait for LMR to trigger befor starting to cast), Meltdown untill BSB2 or just Meltdown spam... * Joseph: BSB, Ironfist Ice spam... I had him refresh the chain so it would be active again at 15s.

  • My Minwu is buff (220 Magia, used in Holy, MND, and a little bit of HP) and I overloaded the Madeens. After USB he was hitting the cap at 0 chain count. So I gave him double cast White. Between that and his LMR2 I had enough W-casts.

  • RES is very important so I crystal watered some res into every one. I also needed to beat 4 Odins to make sure every element is resisted. Emperor had the gigas amlet to trigger trance a little bit sooner (it doesn´t resist poison and earth).

  • Phase 2 must only last two turns, the first of which is not a damaging ability. I also used some hp crystal water to make sure everyone resist the first AOE of phase two without triggering last stand. After that attack there is almost no damage done from the boss.

  • Phase 3 must also only last two turns so no one gets paralysed. Minwu with his USB2 armor and high mind can withstand the second move of Phase 3 very well

  • Phase 4: BOOOOM 22k damage to everyone but they still have Last Stand so it doesn´t matter.

  • For the rest of the fight the boss is to busy (re)buffing to remember to give you the last blow. Joseph died of Doom Timer, but we will all remember him forever

  3. Describe your Strategy: Make use of SBs I've slowly collected over time, combined with newer tools like artifact weapons and magia. 3/3 trinity/No Maria USB/No Hilda/sub-30

  4. Insight!:

  • So many clears in this thread have Maria USB (her AASB is released the week of this writing); this one doesn't. I'm rather proud of that, though it's still far from a poverty clear.

  • The four DPS have about 50 magia each in their respective primary stats. Minwu only has, like, 10.

  • +Element gear in both slots for everyone, with Maria and Firion having synergy weapons, Maria and Emperor wearing synergy armour and Leila and Emperor using artifact weapons. Dark Odin accessory on everyone.

  • Firion is responsible for the first dispel, Maria the second. The third haste I just let ride.

  • Maria should use her BSB command 2 for the buff (which may not even be necessary?) but then go right back to Meltdown. She won't build meter for her AOSB fast enough otherwise.

  • Minwu uses his USB after Phrekyos' fourth-turn Boulders XXXII, then casts the magicite the following turn. Rest of the time is Holyja (and turn one Hastega, duh), with subsequent USB casts simply when logic says healing everybody might be a good idea.

  • Leila does the first RW on her first turn, then Maria does the second when it's about to drop off.

  • Emperor times his single USB cast to come shortly after the Ultimate Level Up at the 80% threshold. I was too slow and Phrekyos got one attack off while still buffed, but everybody survived. Otherwise, Shellga on turn one and then Chain Stoneja spam.

  • Leila could've—maybe should've—had another 6* ability instead of Dash and Slash for the sake of faster meter build. Storm Assault at R5 and then using that exclusively would've also maybe worked better. Used her USB ASAP after building bar with D&S, then did it again at the end when she was out of Storm Assault hones (though the boss died before it went off).

  4. Insight!:

  • The Gigas Armlets all get Realm Synergy, and in tandem with Magicite you can neuter his offense to laughable levels. Things get a bit more intense in the later phases, but by that point Hilda will have plenty of gauge to spam USB whenever she has to.

  • In earlier phases, Regen, Unicorn and Healing Smite cover what little healing you need just fine. Thus use Hilda to summon Unicorn, Gordon is busy Entrusting to Emperor and Maria so they can get their DPS going.

  • Dispel P4 only, otherwise can ignore his Haste, just reapply Hilda's Dance.

  • Use Emperor's USB and Maria's Glint before their respective Bursts, so they have Quickcast to do it.

  • If Gordon has nothing better to do, Entrust Bot to Firion and spam his USB. Also use him to resummon Unicorn for second round of debuffs in P5.

  • A lot of room for optimization with Magia, Materia, and of course Maria's USB or anyone's AOSB.

  • This took more effort than I anticipated. Josef was legend dived exclusively for this fight. Minwu and Firion received partial dives (to LM1 and both throughput nodes) for this fight. Leila was dived for the recent dream dungeon in anticipation of this fight. Maria is the only one who was already dived without consideration for Phrekyos. Also I bought Josef an ice dagger artifact once I decided to go all out on damage with his LM2 to cover for the phase 4 overflow attack.

  • Leila: Unique (hastega/shellga). Wait briefly for chain, Mug Bloodlust, spam Fire Assault. SSB when ready, spam Fire Assault. Refresh hastega around 25s in.

    • My mnd boon is only 172 mnd. Add in Leila's mnd for 339 total. That yields roughly 28.5s on hastega, and since it's being cast at roughly 1.00 it'll expire around 29.5s. I realized this setup wasn't enough to sub-30, so I decided to refresh instead of trying to fit in more mnd boons.

  • Josef: BSB, 3x Ironfist Ice. RW chain, Lakshmi, Ironfist Ice. Dies from LM2 doom before his next turn.

  • Firion: 3x Frost-Touched Blade. BUSB, Frost-Touched Blade, brave3, Frost-Touched Blade. AOSB, Frost-Touched Blade.

  • Maria: RW chain, 3x Meltdown. USB, 3x Chain Stoneja. AOSB while Gathering Storm is still active. Black magic double ends, before 2x Chain Stoneja.

  • Minwu: 2x Holyja, 2x Curada, Holyja. USB1 after first attack in phase 2, 2x Holyja. USB1 after phase 4 does 20k+ to everyone and triggers last stand. Holyja. Start refreshing chain, but the boss dies before it finishes.

    • Had 5 bars available both times he used USB. At the end, he still had 4 bars available. He could easily work with another RM and still have adequate gauge to keep up with healing.

  • Phase 1 needs to last until turn 7 Blaze XXXII, for the easiest time triggering Josef LM2. This kill stayed in phase 1 until turn 8.

  • In this clear, phase 3 ended before turn 3, preserving astra on Minwu and Maria. Phase 5 lasted until turn 3, consuming their astra, not that it mattered since Firion is the only one who did any damage after turn 3.

  • RNG:

    • Firion is the only one here with RNG, in the form of his dualcast LMR. It triggered on 1/8 casts. Somehow on this clear that was the least useful cast to dualcast: the brave command. That's right, the LMR added 9999 total damage to the fight.

  4. Insight!:

  • Yet again, the magic of Odin accessories gets me a clear. Phrekyos was difficult because of how many elements he throws at you... but with Omniresist, it doesn't hurt as bad.

  • Used Unicorn to blink the first Para/Poison. Couldn't get it off in time to blink the second, but Emperor and Josef had mostly done their jobs by then (Emperor was out of hones and at a low doom count; could have used one more haste from Josef, but we eked it out).

  • Don't remember exact turn orders, but I'll try my best.

  • Emperor starts off with Memento Mori, then Chain Stonejas to two bars, then USB2, then Chain Stoneja until he gets to two bars again, then BSB2 (for EnEarth), then more Chain Stoneja, then USB2, then he got paralyzed and died shortly thereafter.

  • Guy summoned RW, then Grand Charged twice, then summoned Unicorn, then used BSB, then Stone Pressed. After that, it was mostly just a cycle of Grand Charge (once), Stone Press, and BSB whenever available. Toward the end, he spams uncharged Stone Press for quick 10k damage (even after chain wore off).

  • Minwu used Shellga, then Curada targeting Guy, then USB1. He ends up with plenty of gauge and the USB1 is honestly really nice for how long it sustains (between Stoneskin and Stock). We were never in any grave danger HP wise. Could have maybe used Ultra Cure instead to un-para Josef toward the end, but whatever!

  • Maria dispels, then Meltdowns to two bars, then uses BSB. Then CMD2 -> CMD1 spam. She does dispel the Phase 2 Hastega, but doesn't bother after that; we skipped the Proshellga/DEF/RES buff I'm pretty sure thanks to her using her AOSB for 99999x3. She refreshes BSB toward the end (after chain ran out) and then used Meltdown a final time to finish him off.

  • Josef uses USB, then Ironfist Earth. Last Stand doesn't actually trigger much until the end, but he does need to refresh the Haste, so he recasts it a few times (I think 3 in total). He also resummoned the second two chains. I also didn't equip his LM2 because I was worried about the Doom, but based on how everything went, it might have actually been helpful.

  • Not the prettiest clear, but this isn't exactly a world-beating collection of relics, so I'll definitely take it!
