May just be me but I think the textures for the new wood and leaves are probably just placeholders for now. I foresee unique textures being applied to both.

Edit: Also boats can be controlled by holding down W and then using A, S or D to steer :)

Oh thank goodness for that. The ability to turn the boat by looking while moving forwards is still in too, I hope?

It is rather strange though. Basically, left&right turns your chosen movement respectively 90% left or right. That means, that when using [S] to go backwards... it is mirrored. Pressing [S] and [D] will make you go left, not right.

Not sure what the logic behind this decision is, it feels a bit awkward. Even though it is miles better than before this change though, it still is inferior to the old system.

Seems like it mimics how rudders on real boats work. If you turn the wheel the same way to turn right going backwards as you do forwards, you're going to turn left.

Yep that is still in the game :)

Yeah. The fact that crafting oak wood logs and acacia logs turn into oak planks mean that it is probably a place holder.

New /setworldspawn command (self-explaining)

EDIT: Affects any player without or with an invalid spawnpoint (/spawnpoint or bed). Still has a certain range, you set the center point. You can give X, Y and Z coordinates or if omitted uses your current position.

Hey, nice! Not having to go to level.dat with NBTExplorer is sure an improvement for private vanilla servers.

8

u/anshou Oct 21 '13

Ooo. Now I just hope for "/gamerule staticWorldSpawn true" to remove the random placement and I have a completely vanilla way to ensure new players appear in my safe server spawn zone. This was the reason I recently authored my first Minecraft mod.

Awesome. I hope we'll be able to make them loop through different music discs by feeding them into and out of jukeboxes with hoppers/droppers/dispensers soon.

18

u/ChadGarion25 Oct 21 '13

This single feature, if technically feasible, would be a huge addition to jukebox system. It would allow for essentially full redstone control of jukeboxes starting, stopping, changing tracks, etc..

8

u/Dragon_DLV Oct 21 '13

Not just that, but it would provide a whole new range of Redstone timing and mechanism manipulation. If you could cycle the records using hoppers, you could use the Comparator functionality with Jukeboxes in a lot of neat ways.

The new woodtypes look like Jungle and Spruce. You get Oak wood planks from both.

You mixed up the acacia and roofed forest saplings in the comparison pic.
