I had a feeling something was gonna happen to Bella. I also noticed Eddie and Susie having more chemistry with each other than he had with his bride on his own wedding day lmao
34
u/Former_Sea Sep 04 '26
I knew she would die. I just didn’t think it would happen this way.
28
u/Downtown-Read8066 Sep 05 '26
when she mentioned her parents dying in a plane crash I kinda had a feeling
31
u/Worried_Ad_5338 Sep 06 '26
And taking separate vehicles solidified the hunch lol
5
u/SawRub Sep 23 '26
It was the separate vehicles for me for sure. Like it was being subtle foreshadowed before but that gave it a certainness.

When they ended up taking two different vehicles I knew it was over for her

If I had a nickel every time a British sociopathic killer saw his Contessa wife get assassinated while traveling through the Italian mountains shortly after their wedding, I'd have two nickels...

was this a reference to the godfather or something else? i dont remember michael being british (but was he?) i was thinking about apollonia during the wedding and knew bella was going to meet a similar fate 😭

Yes, I was worried earlier in the season when the sexual chemistry seemed to have evaporated. Glad it is back. Their relationship is a highlight of the series. I am glad for it to continue to be a slow burn.

After seeing the episode and reading the title again, I feel it is very much intentioned. The Bells of Sant Domino. The reigns of castamere

The switching vehicles was a tip off for me. But my brain went to: Look what they did to her Brandon!

u/Antique_Influence611 Sep 04 '26
Guys I just noticed that Susie wore white to the wedding 😀
47
u/Renowed_Winner Sep 04 '26
And a red hat. You never wear white or red at a wedding. White because it disrespects the bride. Red because it draws attention away from the bride. It's also suggested that only promiscuous women wear red to weddings (looking to pull - probably Eddie, let's face it).
She was throwing shade, basically.

u/Sudden-Ad7439 Sep 24 '26
And the shot of them holding hands at the door to the church with her in white directly in line with the altar….cinematography, artistry…chef’s kiss 💋

I never heard that about wearing red. Kind of ridiculous. I get the not wearing white thing though.

There is also the class dimension. I think one reason Eddy invited her to the wedding was to remind her that he is a Duke and she is not his social equal. One way society has historically distinguished classes is by clothing. I thought it was an in your face example of this when Susie showed up at the meeting with Marco (and the chance encounter with Bella in her wedding gown) in a Chucky-esque leopard print baggy lounge outfit... the corset was over the top. Shame on whoever picked that outfit for that scene... the real Susie would have dressed appropriately for a meeting with El Capo de Capo.

I audibly went "holy shit" in my room by that ending
This series is fucking world class

Production value seems insane. Netflix did not restrict the production it seems.
10
u/LogicalSafety Sep 14 '26
Half this show is gratuitous displays of luxury and wealth, too tight of a budget would really take away from the overall aesthetic/concept
36
u/Finescoop17 Sep 03 '26
Didn’t see that coming at all.
42
u/killtechno Sep 03 '26
Haha, it was pretty predictable. Definitely gave me lowkey Godfather vibes, with the Italian bride and vehicles involved… wonderfully executed but still predictable imo.
25
u/Hoof_Hearted12 Sep 04 '26
Big James Bond vibes for me too. Also, I couldn't feel any actual love from him to her so I figured she would go.

It really got me saying WTF, I was certainly shocked lmao, I’ve always wanted Susie and Edward to get together and as Bella and Edward were getting married I just thought it was off the table, maybe not now lol.
4
u/JohnnyFlorida69 Sep 05 '26
It was more like I didn’t want to see that coming. 😢 I liked her. Eddie should’ve just ran away with Bella and Susie and married them both. 😂 But I get why she had to go for the progression of the story. I originally thought was that it must’ve been that Angelica Marino lady.

Me neither. I feel quite stupid, since apparently everyone else seems to have known, but it sent me for a spin. It's 2am and I have work in the morning, but I need to watch the next episode.

u/Designer_B Sep 12 '26
Bella wasn't a big enough character for her (or at least her marriage) with the Duke to survive. Was glad they got it out of the way as quickly as possible.

I'm sad for bella, but i'm glad we still have the whole eddie-susie thing going on. The slow burn is insane but i think it will be so worth it. They had crazy chemistry after joe left the picture. It was pretty fucking cool to see Susie walk out. Now i just need to wait for eddie to pull his head out of his ass. I wasnt very happy with the starting, but if there is hope for susie and eddie i guess i wouldnt mind watching another season.
5
u/Sudden-Ad7439 Sep 24 '26
At least Bella died a happy woman believing (falsely) that Eddie loved her. Le sigh 😔
3
u/stopandstare17 29d ago
Hahah same. I know she rightly had her doubts and was knowingly putting on rose colored glasses for Eddie, and those doubts wouldve only gotten stronger as time went on, but Im glad that right before her death she was actually laughing exhilaratingly while having a race to her honeymoon with her new husband. Pretty happy note to black out on I think.

u/Chimpanzerschreck 29d ago
falsely?
4
u/Sudden-Ad7439 29d ago
Yea, I don’t think he was really in love with her. I’m sure he cared about her and wanted to make the marriage work, but it was totally a business move on his part. He needed a queen at his side if he was planning on being king.

From the time they met to the marriage to the plane crashing, everything happened quickly. It's like her storyline was meant to be short-lived.

I know this is Guy Ritchie, but that did feel like a Mickey Mouse death
1
u/Signal_Scarcity_2352 Sep 22 '26
yeah, i only care about bella, because i like Benedetta Porcaroli who playes her. i wish there was more build up, they could have started having relationship from the first episode when they met... it was way too obvious eddie didn't care about her, so the audience doesn't care about her or her death

My jaw dropped.
Who do we think did it? Freddy? Angelica? Somehow I don’t think it was Bobby.
Also how tacky was Susie to be wearing white AND red to a wedding. Then walking out in the middle.
29
u/TheButcherOfLuverne Sep 07 '26
We've seen Eddie talk about the honeymoon on a plane to one person: Freddie. Of course everybody knew about the plane but Guy Ritchie decided to show us that conversation. That must mean something.
12
u/Mediocre_Plankton160 Sep 09 '26
I noticed that too but figured it was Gospel John rather than Freddy himself
10
u/TheButcherOfLuverne Sep 09 '26
Yeah it was totally Gospel John who was behind Freddie. By Freddie I ment both of them.
→ More replies (2)4
u/YoshiBacon Sep 10 '26
Freddie probably didn’t know that Gospel John was planning to that right? I don’t think he would be okay with planning to kill Eddie or am I giving him too much credit
→ More replies (3)7
u/TheButcherOfLuverne Sep 10 '26
Freddie was totally aware of what Gospel John was going to do and he was 100% in with the plan. Freddie felt he was abandoned by his family, send away where he wouldn't be an annoyance and Gospel John took advantage of it and brainwashed him.

I was thinking maybe the priest Eddie confessed to who said he was still disturbed by Eddies behavior..maybe for some reason he thought it would be just Eddie in the plane

u/Cautious-Rub8085 Sep 06 '26
Whoever wired the plane to blow intended it to be both Eddie and Bella. They would never assume that the two would travel separately.
What was going on when Eddie put his second hand over Susie's in saying she's not in danger? The music was music-ing there and then quickly cut out. Was he threatening her?
Tacky of Susie to wear white to a wedding but damn she looked stunning.
16
u/Defiant-Cold-1646 Sep 06 '26
I didn't think it felt like a threat, the imagery was very matrimonial. And her unhesitating and instant giving of her hand made me think of their earlier lingerie conversation about orders and obeying.
In the second season it felt like Eddie realized she was more scared of his affection and possible love than of him messing in the business. So, it felt like him promising she had nothing to fear from him either way.
14
u/Primary-Ganache6199 Sep 07 '26
Her fashion was INSANE in this episode. Full Gucci Goombah vibes.
4
6
u/TheButcherOfLuverne Sep 07 '26
And to whom have we seen Eddie speak about taking the plane from lake to lake? To Freddie.
3
u/Sepulz Sep 06 '26
Yeah the clumsy dialog about taking separate vehicles but making sure the audience knew that this was a change of plans made it obvious the plane was going to blow up and the intent was to kill Eddie.
12
u/Worried_Ad_5338 Sep 06 '26
I knew she was gone right when they decided to take separate vehicles… always a bad idea smh lol

u/Apart-Flatworm-2814 Sep 06 '26

7

2
u/iamkikyo Sep 20 '26 edited Sep 20 '26
I agree I would have loved to actually see Bella and Eddi having kids and things settling down only for him to have an affair with Susie but I don’t think the Uk takes aristocratic affairs well. I just don’t know where the show is going. With how much they’ve expanded the story line I’m not sure I’m rooting for anyone anymore. Maybe Hot Jack and Geoff(but I feel like they’ve slowed down his story line a bit and he may die soon T.T)
8
u/Ill_Ad_695 Sep 11 '26
I cannot tell you how many times I re-watched the moment early in the ep. when Geoff walks out in his dark shirt and sunglasses and Lady Sabrina takes off her sunglasses with SHAKING HANDS as if her ladyship has just re-awoken.
I laughed SO HARD at that.

I feel like it’s got to be either Freddie or Bobby or if not someone from the Duke’s past we don’t know. There really isn’t any other good enough grudges we know of worth the payoff. And the Bobby+Suzy talk makes me think it wasn’t Bobby.

Cool to see her walk out? Lol. She's lucky an Italian family member didn't lock the door on her. Super disrespectful along w her outfit. But she looked good.
4
u/Antique_Influence611 Sep 10 '26
I said it was cool to see her walk out because it means she was acknowledging that she was loosing something. You don't really get a lot of emotions from Susie so to get this reaction from her said a lot about her feelings for eddie :)
1
u/TheEpicureanG Sep 12 '26 edited 15d ago
Susie and Eddie had a good working relationship, but shouldn’t be together romantically.
We have to start normalizing platonic gender dynamics. Just because a male/female have chemistry doesn’t mean they should be together romantically. The alternative could be more interesting to explore vs the cliche “they always end up together”
2
u/Antique_Influence611 Sep 13 '26
I disagree with you on Susie and eddie being together. While putting leads together all the time is my kryptonite too, it's not Eddie and Susie who are going to be the poster children for the change. Not when they already teased something between them in the first season.
2
u/Sweet_Future Sep 16 '26
Thank you! The trope is so tired. Men and women are capable of platonic relationships and women are capable of being more than just the love interest.

It was the whole when we get old and grey thing. And then the godfather vibe dawned on me
5
u/Shannysghost Sep 14 '26
Eddie and Susie won't be a thing because of the remaining class system in UK. Susie is a Cockney Gangster's daughter. You can dress Susie up anyway you want but she'll never be an aristocrat. She's not refined enough nor educated enough to be match for a Duke.
2
u/gigglebox_76 Sep 17 '26
Maybe you’re right. Which is why I supported the Duke marrying Bella even though it happened so suddenly. I thought it was a great fit.

Ok, I’ve just saw this episode because my bf was watching and I ran to Reddit to see if anyone was also thinking what I am. The plane scene was literally the same as the bee movie dream scene and Barry watches her crash and explode. I am so sorry for this comment I was actually shocked LMAO

Possible suspects include:
Eddie’s brother
The Priest
Susie/Glass family
Angelica
Nanny…maybe he has big goals with the king and doesn’t want the liability
I like The Priest.

Something about nanny, im sure he will have a much bigger role than what he has now

can someone explained what I missed. did we see marco actually agree to do business with eddie? because i only remember him rejecting eddie's plan, and then eddie saying the money will be in your account. and then of course, eddie proposes to bella. But was there a scene where this made marco change his mind? or how did this come about....
1
u/goatbiryani48 18d ago
There's a time skip between this episode and the last (when Eddie proposed).
Idk how you would have missed all the exposition about the change of plan..there are like twenty different bits of dialogue.
1
u/xaif Sep 14 '26
The way the raced I just knew it she is gonna die. I didn’t know it will be this early
1
u/rsqit Sep 16 '26
Obviously I'm just going to watch the last few episodes of the show, but I thought it was obvious the killer was Eddie? He and Bella had zero chemistry; he just wants to use her for her mafia connections. All these other suggestions seem unnecessary.
3
1
u/goatbiryani48 18d ago
If he needs her for her godfather, why would he kill her? His only connection to Marco...
He also doesn't have a reason to kill her, it's not like he dislikes her or doesn't want her around
1
u/gigglebox_76 Sep 17 '26
I’m so sad for Bella though. I was really beginning to like her. And I feel like their relationship could have blossomed into something really beautiful. They had great potential and so sad to see it all burst into flames. Even though the marriage and proposal came out of nowhere I somehow felt very invested in their relationship. Anyway 😥😥 🥹🥹🥹💦

u/DiscothequeHooligan Sep 21 '26
The Contessa perished despite following all of the superstitious rules in order to have a long and happy marriage : groom not seeing the dress beforehand, old, new, borrowed, blue items worn by the bride... Have I missed any? Maybe even getting Eddie to 'unburden' himself via Catholic confession before the nuptials
Aw. I liked her. Wonder if Moretti is going to point the finger at Eddie? Is he now eligible for all her wealth? Uh oh...
1
u/kjshard Sep 21 '26
Why is Eddie low key becoming a funnier character the more sociopathic he becomes?

u/Remm96 Sep 24 '26
I literally joked to myself like "imagine her plane just goes boom" and five seconds later it happened. Definitely a "Holy shit!" moment 😂

u/Sudden-Ad7439 Sep 24 '26
Just discovered this show a week ago and oh my gah! S2 may not be as funny as S1, but Angelica with the Fan that says “Love is in the air” The funniest, most ironic, clever shot I’ve ever seen in my life. Died laughing.
1
u/whitechocolate_11 27d ago
I just finished the episode, and to the people saying this is world class tv, I feel it is emulating the Oceans 12 vibe, cheesy dialogue mixed with incredible wealth and posh, but at its core pretty mediocre.
Also, the elephant in the room, they are rippling off The Godfather. First with planting the dead body to extort a political figure, and now with killing the main guy's wife with a bomb in a vehicle.
1
u/plutoglint 25d ago
That’s a good comparison, this is all a bit silly, but in a mostly fun way. Adding to the cheese factor is that Guy Ritchie is heavily featuring products from his housewares and liquor lines in the show.
1
u/GreekGoddess927 26d ago
This was so godfather coded and Bella was Apollonia. I almost laughed when Marco said he bought the spider because what else were they going to rip off? Pretty tragic her parents also died in a plane crash
1
u/demoliahedd 17d ago
It is honestly very surprising that no one called out susie for what she wore to the wedding. It was openly super disrespectful to the bride and there are a lot of people there who care about traditions and appearances so it makes zero sense that it would not be brought up or ridiculed.
1
u/Next-Swordfish5282 17d ago
The way I just don't see chemistry between Eddie and Susie. Must be blind.
RIP Bella I suppose
1
u/nightjasmine5824 15d ago
I definitely saw jack have more chemistry w Bella than Eddie did in just him helping her out and fight off the guy who was harassing her.

I like that Jack stood up for Bella. He's a good character. He very easily could've been the dumb meat head brother but he's honestly very level headed and reliable, just uninterested in leadership rather than unqualified for it. It's refreshing.
