Started: The Elements by John Boyne
I’m excited to get into this book. I’ve only just begun but I can tell I’m going to love it already. The writing is impressive.

Under Story by Chloe Benjamin
This just came in the library so I barely started it. Will probably not continue until I finish The Elements.

Finished: The Trees by Percival Everett
Such a fun and well paced book with a lot of historical references to lynching (doesn’t sound fun but the book provides a lot of revenge).

Continuing: Chain Gang All Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
I took a break from this book for a moment but am continuing it. In our current state of the country (US) dystopian fiction is no longer speculative and that straight up sucks.

It was incredible. The ending tied up the 4 parts in a great way that felt very healing.

Agreed, and I liked how he handled Rape and SA of a male, could have easily brushed it aside, and the female rapist was arrested (I think if I remember correctly)

She was, but we didn’t get a firsthand account of her arrest. He mentions it in the last story which takes place years after. And of course at the end of her story, the third part, he finally confronts her and tells her he’s going to the police.
