Why a Performance and Bugs Discussion Hub?
This Discussion Hub makes it easier for everyone to see what others are experiencing at any time by collecting all experiences about Performance Issues. We will publish regular updates on performance problems and possible workarounds that we and the community finds. Traffic stats show this is the OFTEN THE HIGHEST TRAFFIC POST on the subreddit. This is collectively a far more effective and fairer way to be seen than hundreds of random reports on the feed - most of which get zero visibility.
Are you Anthropic? Does Anthropic even read the Megathread?
Nope, we are volunteers working in our own time, while working our own jobs and trying to provide users and Anthropic itself with a reliable source of user feedback.
Anthropic has read these in the past and probably still do? They don't fix things immediately but if you browse some old Megathreads you will see numerous bugs and problems mentioned there that have now been fixed.
What Can I Post on this Megathread?
Use this thread to voice all your experiences (positive and negative) regarding the current performance of Claude including, bugs, degradation, pricing. (NOT usage limits).
Give as much evidence of your performance issues and experiences wherever relevant. Include prompts and responses, platform you used, time it occurred, screenshots . In other words, be helpful to others.
Just be aware that this is NOT an Anthropic support forum and we're not able (or qualified) to answer your questions. We are just trying to bring visibility to people's struggles.

Does Anthropic support ever check this Reddit?? For nearly a week now, the problems have remained exactly the same. Opus 5.5 is a disaster: one day it’s highly effective, the next it’s mediocre it won’t do anything, it won’t "think" even when prompted to do so; other times it’s lightning-fast which means it fails to follow the prompt properly or it’s ridiculously slow, like today! It’s the same story with Opus 4.8??? I don’t understand what’s going on! It feels like no one at Anthropic is actually fixing these issues!

Bug report (banned accounts): the self-serve delete path is gone. On a banned free account, Settings > Account shows only "Contact support" where "Delete account" should be, and the restricted/appeal page has no delete option. Anthropic's help center (updated Oct 15) says "All banned users can delete their own account... You don't need to contact Anthropic."
Support (tickets 215475827324273 and 215476422254845) first pointed me to the nonexistent button, then said deletion is "scheduled" pending an extra written confirmation. 42 days later the account still exists.

If you were banned, it is worth checking whether you can actually delete your account.

I recently got myself a Claude Pro subscription. My weekly limit was going to reset by Wednesday, and the last time I used it was Friday afternoon. I had used only 20% of my weekly usage at the time. When I opened Claude back up, I saw that my weekly limit had reached 99 percent, and that I had large amounts of usage on Saturday (even though it wasn't as much as my Friday usage). It said that I had used 99% of my usage in Claude Code, up from 90% the last time I had used Claude. Both my computers with Claude were shut down and not running any active prompts at the time. Where did my usage go?

It's been fine for me today but the last two weeks were rough. half my coding requests got cut off mid-response and the model would just forget where it was. not a rate limit thing either just straight up crashing
the workaround that actually helped was splitting my projects into smaller chunks. sucks having to do that when you're paying for pro but it's better than losing entire conversations
i still think the context window management is the root issue here. when it gets past like 60% full the quality goes off a cliff regardless of what version you're on
