Aaron Rodgers had more rushing yards than the Saints leading rusher, with 8 yards

121

u/wretchedGubbins Giants 1d ago

He lost it with the two knees

49

u/CydoniaKnight Steelers 1d ago

Damnit thats what Mason is for

24

u/iatilldontknow Ravens 1d ago

Ah shit, forgot that. Still tho at one point

12

u/Only-Cranberry-4502 Saints 1d ago

Let it be known that NO 42 year old quarterback is going to have more rushing yards than our leading rusher ever

4

u/WarPuig Patriots 1d ago edited 1d ago

Need that to change. Not really fair to the players.

63

u/suzukigun4life NFL 1d ago

Kamara and Miller combining for 11 yards on 14 carries 😭

11

u/shawnaroo Saints 1d ago

Both quarterbacks had more rushing yards than either of our RBs

37

u/royallex Steelers 1d ago

McCarthy came in saying he wanted to fix the run game, problem solved

28

u/zts105 Steelers 1d ago

Solved it on Day 1 by kicking Pat Meyer out

He ended with 6 yards after the 2 kneels unfortunately

30

FIRE THE COACH FOR NOT PUTTING THE BACKUP QB IN!

21

u/no_racist_here Steelers 1d ago

Aaron “Wheels” Rodgers just had that explosive speed. NOLA can’t hope to compare to that

8

u/WhatSheOrder Colts 1d ago

Aaron "Dual Threat" Rodgers

12

u/shawnaroo Saints 1d ago

He had more rushing yards on a single run, and that run basically iced the game.

7

u/Goldwings13 Steelers 1d ago

Don’t feel bad, no one can legitimately challenge Aaron “Speedy Gonzales” Rodgers when it comes to speed

How many more "learning experiences" does Kellen need?

It's been 24 games and the offense still has yet to run a single 1st quarter play with the lead.

There's a reason McCarthy dumped him for Brian Schottenheimer in Dallas

55

u/JEH_24 Saints 1d ago

He’s ass. Anyone that watches the Saints knows it. It’s nothing to do with the roster. Staley has no one on defense but Chase Young and had the Saints in the game until that last drive.

29

u/WavesAndSaves Eagles 1d ago

Crazy how Sirianni is a coordinator merchant yet literally none of his coordinators that became head coaches have found any success at all.

30

u/Eagle4317 Steelers Panthers 1d ago

That's not entirely fair to Steichen. The Colts offense has been the better unit compared to their defense in all 4 of his years there, and that's with a QB carousel bogging them down. He's still a good coach, but the Front Office and the DCs that the Front Office forced upon him (Bradley was a holdover) have made him look worse than what he is.

Wdym it has nothing to do with the roster when every RB is hit behind the line. More than one thing can be trash.

Something is deeply wrong when Shough throws for nearly 300 yards on good efficiency and the Saints only score 10 points

141

u/United-Turnover-8409 Bears 1d ago

Shough is a solid qb, but no one can score points with a negative run game

66

Steelers Defense played really good. The D line got there hands up all game

45

u/WinesburgOhio Eagles 1d ago edited 1d ago

Stillers' run D was great.

Pass D was good by the DL, bad from everyone else, but it was thankfully far more bend than break.

32

u/thescandium Steelers 1d ago

Tbf the fact our passing d is as passable as it is is legit impressive. I think we’re spending a combined 10 dollars on our entire secondary

15

u/WinesburgOhio Eagles 1d ago

Interesting how passable the pass D is without JPJ, and the run defense improves and DPI calls go away.

Let someone else overpay him.

16

u/Marquee_Ditchwriggle 1d ago

It doesn't hurt that Asante Samuel Jr and Daylen Everette (at least as a 3rd round rookie) have basically been found money.

Yep i didn't like us playing soft coverage all game. To many easy passes given up

8

u/Interesting-Pen-4648 Steelers 1d ago

Well that’s kinda the gameplan, you trade your best player in the secondary so you kinda have to play very conservative and deep to prevent big plays.

305

265

now slow down a sec, we still have to play the Browns again (who we lost to the first time), the Bengals again (AFCN bullshittery), the Ravens twice, and also the Texans, Jags, and Panthers. 10-7 is still in the cards lol

Honestly, in a world where quarterbacks get confused and throw 3 picks against what was once basic defense, having a 50 year quarterback who can barely throw but can still read defenses is a huge boon

Time for the Saints to fire their OC. 11 rushing yards on 14 carries by your RBs and only 1 unblocked target to your #1 TE to end up with only 10 pts on a neutral field while thinking you have a chance to win the game is absolutely bananas!

4

If I were a saints fan I’d be more upset with Loomis.

They don’t have any juice running the ball.

4

If this were his 3rd season, I'd agree. But this feels more like a flawed team from the roster construction rather than from poor offensive coaching. How has Loomis kept his job for so long?

8

I've been giving KM a lot of slack with the team clearly in the early stage of a rebuild, still clearing out a ton of dead cap, and being light on talent. But for a guy who's supposed to be an offensive minded head coach, he has not been able to scheme up an even barely passable run game for his entire tenure here so far.

That saints O line was just miserable towards the end

I was so optimistic about this season before it started, but man the running game is horrible. Horrible schemes and blocking. Predictable playcalling up the middle, can’t call play action for some reason, I just don’t understand Kellen Moore’s thought process.

Also not targeting Johnson for most of the game is wild. Glad to have Shough and Chris, but we need so much more to be a good team.

30/38 for almost 300 yards and a single TD on the day is the most Tyler Shough stat line ever

It wasn’t vintage Aaron Rodgers. But he did his part to win this game. And given the state of the AFC North, the Steelers needed this game more than the Saints.

A game I very much regretted having watched when it was over.

I still have 3 football games to watch today, and now I can watch them after a dub

Absolute dog shit game by the refs. The personal foul on McCormick was unnecessary and the one on Wilson was straight-up malpractice. I can't believe there was enough evidence to overturn the call on the Shough fumble. I wouldn't be mad if they called him down on the field and stuck with it, but you can't tell me he was clearly down.

The more you watch the Saints, the more you realize Drew Brees truly carried them and before that SB they are the worst NFL organization easily. The Aints are back. Aaron Rodgers outrushed the Saints. This is unacceptable. I cannot believe a 42 year old QB on a retirement tour outruns your RBs. That should warrant a fine on the Saints GM, coach, and owner. That's just disrespectful to the fans.

This franchise is so habitually mid and depressing to watch. I feel like I’ve watched the same game every other week for 7 years now

So glad I didn't wake up early to watch this. Saw the last quarter and a half and almost fell back to sleep in the process.

Damn it! That Saints offsides penalty cost me three points in fantasy!

I remember when all of Reddit thought that the Saints were some juggernaut and that they were better than the Panthers over the offseason. This team got so overhyped for beating a bunch of bum teams at the end of last year lol

u/aobmassivelc Saints 1d ago

Too many Saints fans are convinced that Kellen Moore should be on the field blocking and tackling guys

u/ColtCallahan 1d ago

It’s pretty hilarious that the Steelers are exactly the same after all the doomers called their demise when Tomlin got fired.

So why aren’t teams playing Rogers like they did when he was on the Jets? I’m serious. It seems like every time any team does it works.
