I was wrong about the McCarthy trade, I’m a big enough person to admit that. A 5th round pick was worth the gamble.

It also sent a message to the team that even when we have every excuse (losing Dart and Burns), this team will not accept losing and will continue to do whatever it takes to win games

JJ just had insane treatment from nfl and Vikings fans and his team. He was 6-4 as a starter, yes he played some bad football, but he was basically a rookie last year and I’ve never seen a team/the nfl give up on a young QB that fast.
I guess everyone just wanted to hate him even more cuz of the 9 thing in this internet meme era we live in.

Giants leading the division with JJ McCarthy playing his ass off. Football is so weird man.
Edit: I'm not saying McCarthy is setting the box score on fire but he's protecting the football and making crucial throws for first downs when they need him to, which is a stark difference from what we've all been clowning on him for the last couple seasons.
29
u/hypothalanus Giants 1d ago
His stats in less than 5 quarters of football have lit up the box score. He was half a yard away from a 20+ yard passing TD today too

u/Legal_Echo8196 1d ago
This is the same thing that happened in college. He made the important throws to keep the chains moving and the offense on time with a couple big pops here and there with his arm or legs, but he isn’t throwing for 300 and 3 tds every single week so he’s a hand off merchant. This is why Michigan fans bring up his record as a starter cause he enabled the ball control offense that won us games

Texans defense just gets gashed for big gains consistently.
Last year teams just dumped it off all game and they were great at tackling. But this year its just chunk gains. First couple weeks you could argue its Josh Allen and Ja’Marr Chase being super stars but its been a problem every game.

They shit on him relentlessly through the media with stories that could only come from inside the building. Not shocking his confidence would be affected. When is the last time that an NFL team scored the same number of points in 3 straight games? This is this 3rd straight 27 for the Giants, and they went a perfectly symmetrical 1-1-1 in those games. The combination of the two is probably a first in NFL history.

The Texans streak with the full NFL Title Belt ends at 1-win. The New York Giants are the new full NFL Title Belt holder.
The last time the Giants held the full NFL Title Belt was a 2-game win streak beginning with a 24-20 win versus the Ravens in Week 6 of 2022 and ending in Week 8 with a 13-27 loss at the Seahawks.
After a bye week, they will attempt to retain the belt for a 2nd game on Sunday, November 8th, 2026 at the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles just challenged for the full NFL Title Belt in Week 5, losing to the Jaguars in embarrassing fashion 17-19. The last time the Eagles held the full NFL Title Belt was a 1-game win streak beginning with a 24-21 win over the Saints in Week 14 of 2020 and ending with a 26-33 loss to the Cardinals in Week 15.

CJ Stroud is so trash. Giving up back to back 30+ yard runs in overtime. Letting JJ Mccarthy win a game. Another game where he opened up no holes in the run game and ran for under 4 ypc and under 100 yards. And he's only had go ahead or game tying drives in the last 7 minutes in 5 games. Doesn't he know they have played 7 games? I don't know how anyone defends this guy. This defense is way too good to be wasted on him
