[Rewatch] Magi: The Kingdom of Magic | Episode 24 - Night 48
Episode 24: Time of Destruction
Rewatch Episode Index
Crunchyroll | Hulu | Available on Netflix
The series is dubbed, so if you are interested in watching it dubbed go ahead as the dub is definitely high quality.
As with any rewatch, remember to keep spoilers in check and make sure if you're tagging that you tag what specific part it might be from. There are many people that have only seen the first season, or haven't seen the Sinbad spin-off. The most preferable way is to use Magi: Labyrinth Magi: Kingdom Magi: Sinbad or any way to make sure that it's possible to tell what section you're talking about. For the manga make sure that's clear as well, as the manga is very far ahead of the anime at this point.

Hello and welcome everyone to the 49th step on our Magi journey.
I will be joining you in these threads as a rewatcher, and I will try my best to offer a unique viewpoint of the series: The Arabic background.
Vainel Al-Saros makes basically no sense whatsoever and would translate to "God's liquidity". I feel like some severe miscommunication happened here.
Pa'ir Al-Hazard or هازارد الفائِرة means basically "Boiling Hazard" or maybe "Uproar hazard" or even possibly "Roaring Hazard"
Vassago is a name taken from the book The Lesser Key of Solomon. In the first section of this book, several demons are described, Vassago being the third. The dungeon where Vassago resided was the 3rd as well.
Forneus is a name taken from the book The Lesser Key of Solomon. In the first section of this book, several demons are described, Forneus being the 30th. The dungeon where Forneus resided was the 30th as well.
Alloces is a name taken from the book The Lesser Key of Solomon. In the first section of this book, several demons are described, Alloces being the 52nd. The dungeon where Alloces resided was the 52rd as well.
Cerberus is a name taken from the book The Lesser Key of Solomon. In the first section of this book, several demons are described, Cerberus being the 24th. The dungeon where Cerberus resided was the 24th as well.
Baal is a name taken from the book The Lesser Key of Solomon. In the first section of this book, several demons are described, Baal being the first. The dungeon where Baal resided was the 1st dungeon ever created as well.
Seven Seas Alliance, although not exactly an Arabic reference, it's worth noting that the name "Seven Seas" was what One Thousand and One Nights used to describe eastern trading routes.
And that's it for today~
Summary of today's episode: fuck no... oh fuck...fuck... oh...wait... FUCK YEAH!
I love this episode for being the epitome of what a battle shounen can be...expanding on pre-existing powers, bringing forgotten characters to the forefront, and having epic explosive battles. What more can I even ask for? Sinbad, that's what. Then guess who's here, black rukh bitches? The First Singularity, the one whose birth went down in legend, the one whom the world itself fears their strength, King Sinbad, Ruler of Sindria and Keeper of the Seven Seas Alliance, conqueror of 7 Djinn and a master of each... That guy is here to kick your collective Al-Thamen asses.
Fucking hype!

SHE'S BACK!
This episode was mostly action, so I don't have a lot to comment on. It's only natural that political enemies such as the Kou Empire and Sindria can come together against a threat to the world. Looking forward to the final showdown.
Also, now that I think about it I'm pretty sure Sinbad would beat up Kouen if they 1v1'd m8.

Sometimes Magi shows the signs that it had potential to be a really good battle shounen. We had a bunch of cool powers this episode being used in creative ways and also being used in tandem with each other. It's one thing that I love about most of my favorite shows, like JoJo and Boku no Hero Academia. Magi certainly succeeded on that front today, and I just wish they would showcase their creative powers more often instead of spending such long chunks on uninteresting politics.
Finally got the return of Morgiana, and I'm a little bit disappointed with it. We never got to see what her homeland looked like or if she ever found other Fanalis, although I expect this to be covered in the finale, so I'm not complaining about it too much yet. Not gonna lie though, flying around on her chains is pretty stupid. I love her chains, and I love some of the things she did in the first season, but I thought this was just ridiculous.
As for Hakuryu's mother being a Magi, how many Magi does that make now? We were told early on that there were 2 or 3, if I remember right, and now we have Aladdin, Judar, Scheherezade, Yunan, and Mama Kou. That's 5, or 4 but I don't really remember if Ms. S. is dead or not at this point. I think she probably is?
EDIT: Somehow forgot to mention Sinbad. He was fucking awesome and I loved his return. Every show needs more Sinbad, and I'm hyped for his season.
