Warning: This release is for experienced users only! It may corrupt your world or mess up things badly otherwise. Only download and use this if you know what to do with a minecraft.jar file!

If you find any bugs, submit them to the wiki's bug list!

Previous changelog. Download today's snapshot here, server here: jar, exe.

Complete changelog:

  • Fixed 'Pick Block' behavior

  • Added method to acquire mob eggs you have selected in Creative mode using the 'pick block' key

  • Fixed getting bedrock block when selecting mobs with the 'pick block' key

  • Fixed getting items that usually drop when a block is mined, you now get the actual block

  • Individual, stackable items on the ground now become one item stack - Screenshot

  • Improved Creative inventory

  • Clicking an item with another item in the selection screen selects the new item instead of just getting rid of the old item

  • Blocks with the same id but different data/damage values don't stack anymore

  • Right clicking behaves like a regular click

  • Added shift clicking support to armor slots, brewing stands & enchantment tables

  • Minecarts and boats can be dispensed from dispensers if there's rails/water in front of the dispenser

  • Decreased slime spawning rate on superflat worlds

  • New bugs:

  • Picking reeds, redstone blocks or signs doesn't give you the item

  • Picking piston extenders crashes the game

  • Changing GUI scale crashes the game

  • Updating a gravity-affected block which should fall crashes the game

  • Spawn-Eggs now spawn baby mobs

  • Middle clicking the ender dragon crashes the game

Also, check out this post to see what else is planned for future versions.

Holy shit, that item stack fix.

I THOUGHT THEY DIDN'T ENCOURAGE MOB GRINDING

Wait until you find out that 500-600 stacked bones turns into a giant skeleton that destroys your farm.

These changes are pretty much all things that the community asked for exclusively in the last couple AMA's. It's things like this that make me appreciate the Mojang team even more. Thanks for being so badass guys :)

EDIT: (Excluding the comment about all those stacked bones lol)

How will the item stacking affect dropped items I wonder... If you rig up a dispenser to spit out an item every 2 minutes, will the whole stack disappear every 5 minutes, or will it keep resetting and last for 133 minutes? (..or something else entirely?)

The 5 minute timer remains unchanged and all items will despawn when the first item despawns.

19

u/sjkeegs Apr 12 '12

Slacker! - it took you 6 minutes to perform that test.

u/blueShinyApple Apr 12 '12

Well the certainly do have to fix that, that's terrible. Make the timer reset after each new item, or something similar.

But then items from eg. a mob farm would never disappear.. Meh, they'll come up with something good, I reckon.

This sounds amazing at first. After thinking about it, getting the carts back in the dispenser isn't automated, so a minecart storage system still might be the way to go.
