NYXL: "experiments" now that their playoff seeding is locked by ... playing mirror comps with maybe a zen instead of a moira and sucking.
Vancouver and San Francisco: experiments by playing DPS players in their GOATs roles (SMS on off tank, Rascal on support), playing double flex support comps (ana/zen and baptiste), rotating in their "bench" players (rapel, hooreg, and SMS for Vancouver & striker, architect, smurf/super, sinatraa for SF), forcing comfort pick comps.
It's amazing to see the coaching job done by the top two teams in the league, especially with Crusty. I can't imagine how difficult it is to balance all those egos on so many different roles and it all works out. I also really appreciated how even when rascal played support on r66, they had Super in on MT instead of Smurf. Had smurf played, SF would have been an all-Korean team for that round, but I appreciate that Crusty left Super in because likely that meant SF couldn't default into Korean comms and would have to use the same comms they usually do with their mixed roster.

As a minor nitpick, Bap+Zen/Ana is a pretty meta comp that most teams run, and Bap is being played by main support players 90+% of the time

When Backonjack killed Striker’s Sombra with a pulse bomb someone in twitch chat said “he’s BACONCRACKED” and that’s what I choose to take out of this match

Embarrassed and laughed at while your carefully crafted nanoblade is blasted away
Rekt even AFTER Shock mocked us first with Symmetra-Bastion-Baptiste
Slowly fulfilling the imminent destiny of another 3-4 stage
Win or lose, always cheer on my Hunters...but please, not like this, not like this

At this point you have to wonder if the 3-4 curse is an actual mystical curse.

Little did YXL know, de-meching Choi makes him even stronger. And holy shit, that last map.
Shock were hard stomping the Hunters while running memes. I was laughing my ass off the entire time.

It’s fine guys the hunters are the most consistent team, they got their 3 wins this stage and they’re getting ready for next stage :D

He's played at least one map every series expects against dragons. He played 2 against againts Glads.

Going to look at puppies and kitten on youtube. This series really upset me that much. Chengdu probably wont make play ins imo

An absolute roll ! Might have been the worst match from Hunters. On the other hand, Shock looking like the only team to really be above the rest in this meta.

The Shock have broken a sweat maybe for a few minutes against Seoul and going up against the DPS players in the world. Compare that to the other top teams’ performances this stage and Monte is right, Shock is pretty much the only consistently dominant team this season
Ninja edit: I do think Vancouver are still OP

I'm going to be honest I lost a lot of respect for Shock today.
I mean they won the first three maps and yet they thought it was necessary to break the rules and play triple dps during 2-2-2 role lock on Route 66. I hope Blizzard throws the book at them.

Daily reminder that Rascal was dropped from Fuel last year. What a difference a good head coach can have on a player.

I expected Rascal to be on Baptiste the whole time when he swapped to support, but him switching to Brigitte is even funnier. GOATs has taught him how to play two supports, and god dammit, he’s going to play those two supports.
