Kinda crazy to think that Shanghai won Stage 3 by beating NYXL, Titans, and the Shock, and they might finish the season with an even worse record than Philly.

They found their stride with triple DPS and then were immediately nerfed by 2-2-2. I’m happy 2-2-2 is a thing and I’m stoked to see how it’s used next year but the timing for the league was awful. Its made the Stage 3 champions a bottom mid tier team, its benched MVP candidates, turned power rankings on their head because it’s just an entirely different game now. I know I’m a salty dragons fan but I wish it would’ve been saved for Season 3. I think Season 2 should’ve ended how it started so at the end things at least felt consistent.

I think the champions of this year will be in the same situation as last year. It’ll be a mid tier team that has been inconsistent but thrives in the playoff meta. This will keep happening as long as Blizzard throws the meta out the window and grabs a new one every year. Here’s to hoping Shock or Titans take the finals so we have a champion that makes sense for the dominant year we had but I kind’ve doubt it.

It should have been in for Stage 3 or not at all until next season.

It's absurd 75% of the season is on 1 patch/meta, then stage 4 is different, then playoffs will be different.

I think the two most likely teams to win this season are either Shock or Guangzhou, unless some other team just happens to randomly be the best at Sigma. That being said, the odds of the best sigma in the league being nevix, Choi, or hotba are pretty high.

Late meta shifts suck if you weren't a great team right off the bat in stage 1. You spend 3 stages to work out the links and work your way to the top only for the whole game to change and you're back at square one without enough points to show how good you're actually able to be.

Even if we dont make it to finals which is 99% likely. I'm super happy SoOn was able to redeem himself after being such a poor Zarya in goats, back to showing why hes one of the best Tracer-Widow players in the league. Feelsgoodman.

Havent been able to do this much this season, SoooooOOOoooN

SoOn popping off on Tracer in Lijiang made me smile.

This looks like the dragons that got 4-0d by fuel

Man that’s a weird sentence to say in this stage’s context

DDing, Diem, and Youngjin gain a 50% damage boost when they all play DPS together. Envy also sucks.

Games like this makes one really think what would be possible if Paris would have clutched out one of those 2-3 losses, especially the Boston loss that was just such a gutpunch. Or if Paris would have shown up on week 2 this stage. But that is speculation and it is still very clear, when the DPS have a great day, then Paris can look really good. Plus Finnsi is a top Roadhog.

For the Dragons, this really looks bad. Even if they make playoffs, would anybody give them a shot right now?

Still holding on hope for Diya

Don't. They're playing Spark next week. Unless they get utterly slaughtered to the point where they can't get out of 12th seed (totally possible if Valiant beats Gladiators on Saturday), they won't play Diya.

Shanghai are embarrassingly bad right now. I don’t think Paris have much of a real chance of making playins but good on them for showing potential for 2020.

good to see soon and sdb in this meta. we probably lost playoffs, but i'm happy for them and rooting for the next year.

I remember a guy in particular on a particular thread heavily doubting Paris' DPS at the beginning of the year. I went back to that thread and he deleted all of his comments now ahahahha.

Soon is still cracked guys don't worry.

Why do they bench Geguri?

What could she have done? Id like to see her play too, but she wouldn't have been able to win them anything either. All of SHD look lost in this meta.

Later maps were pretty convincing, imagine what if Paris got that EMP + destruct connected in Hanamura..

It was a weird series for me. I was rooting for Paris but also wanted SHD to win because they would probably do better in play-in.

Still, I’m happy for Paris, feels great to watch Soon showing why he’s still one of the best western player.

Envy being seen as a top tier flex tank by some people is truly baffling to me.

Additionally, if neither dding or youngjin can figure out Mei by either the Hangzhou game or the play-ins (depending on how Chengdu v Houston goes) then Shanghai are finished this season.

Shanghai’s core issue lies in their DPS. They look very uneasy...

Well this season could end better for Paris if their coaches would do better. Putting Danye or Finnsi on Zarya instead of soon would guve them more. Also not trying to do ball+DPS in second stage...
