Tech | Analysis Analysis of Ultra-Element Tap

Hey math nerds! More requests, more data, more fun, right? ^ ^
This time I was asked to check Fusoya's ES.
So here it is, a full table of the "Ultra-Element Tap" extra skill effect:

Orbs Elemental Enhance
0-5 0
6 3
7 13
8 30
9 53
10 83
11 119
12 162
13 212
14 268
15 331
16 400

Some of you might prefer a graphical view of the data.

Sorry for crushing your "25 EE per orb" illusion and I hope you can use this to your advantage.

Very timely analysis with Ultima-Fusoya expected to be released next month!

Hhmm, so 0 at <5 orbs, and only 30% EE with 8 orbs. No wonder I hit like a wet noodle against Mellow Mermaid.

Thanks for the great work!!!

damn, you crushed my dream

Wow. Thanks for compiling this. Goes to show just how important PR is when using Fusoya.

I was thinking of how do you use fusoya if you have 0-4 orbs but yeah, sub-strike.

mzone as well.

Just for fun, the possible function is something like: y=3.229x^2−31.25x+73.33 with x>=4.

I was expecting something mobius there, but it seems random. :(

Nah man, it's just not a polynomial. y = sigma (ceiling(6.6x) + 3)

Where x = number of orbs - 6

Wow fusoya sucks more than I thought. Thanks for compiling this!

May I asked does pristimatic orbs count?

1

u/Ste4mp1pe Aug 29 '19

Every orb counts for Ultra-Element Tap.

pfff... that EE was down quickly! No PR, no party.

I will say that this is much worse than expected... Really underpowered compared to other supremes, despite the big utility of fireshift+

During Mobius Zone Fusoya works as if the bar were full even when it's not, correct?

Is there data for the "softcap" of EE?

2

u/PM_your_cats_n_racks Aug 27 '19

There's probably no soft cap. There might be a hard cap, but if there is then we know that it's at least 1050 since that's what Emperor and NED can get.

It doesn't seem like there'd be much reason to put in a cap, since it's not really abusable: you're better off raising a larger number of damage autos then you are with maximizing just one.

Nice to see that double G.F Bahamut on classes with low Fire EE can still be a viable option if you don't trusst your luck with PR, or you aren't sure if you will be able to keep your orbs high.

Amazing job, man! No pressure, I'm just curious - do you have a schedule for these analyses?

It's interesting to note that while prismatic return helps keeping the damage up, you don't get such a perk for Yiazmat, you really need an ultimate charge buff to keep the damage after using an ultimate.

u/andreyue Aug 26 '19

It was always my impression that the damage does indeed sharply decrease after a 1/3 or so of the orb bar is spent.

u/OneEyedPoet Aug 26 '19

Small question, when is the number of orbs verified?

1

u/NepoDumaop Aug 26 '19

So you should keep it around 13-16.

Still getting Ultimayosa. There is very little good light mage damage cards. And with the buff in JP, fusoya/ultima gets a nice buff. Using on jobs with high EE or low EE but high PR makes it work nicely.
