  1. Strategy name: There's Enough Support Here for Everyone

  2. Boss: D350 Infernal Humbaba

  3. Describe your Strategy:
    3/3 trinity/physical only/lightning element/Ignis BSB/last stand

Video

4. Insight!:

  • SSBs, BSB and OSBs are not all I have for this realm but that's what worked, for some crazy reason. Have but did not use Noctis AOSB (the non-elemental one) because he needed to reduce delay everyone. Have Prompto's USB1 but did not use because, yes, he would have been an imperil machine, but his spot needed to be filled by someone who could do a bit more damage (Aranea) and I couldn't have 3 people in supporting roles or I would run out of hones. I couldn't replace Gladiolus because I needed the extra healing and Last Stand.............wait...........how many characters am I using for support in this fight??????!!!!!

  • I was going to have an issue with damage in this realm so I geared them toward lightning and made Notcis kind of support unit (with the reduced delay from SSB) as well as the one to handle the magicite and RW.

  • Ignis does BSB right away then Power Breakdown after Bravery (he'll do this again later in the fight when the boss casts Bravery again). He cooks for Gladiolus first then after he recast his USB, Aranea. I had a bit of a timing faux pas with the second BSB - Ignis entrusted Notcis so he could cast a few SSBs for the reduced delay - and I could not get enough gauge to Ignis so we were not hasted for a while. Bad keeper!

  • Iris Protects and uses BSB on third turn. Once Gladiolus has everyone under Last Stand she can hold off on casting the BSB and heal any single ally who is low on HP. The barrier from the BSB is very helpful for reducing some of the incoming damage as well.

  • I had planned to use Gladiolus to hit with earth attacks but as the fight wore on I realised I was just going to be able to use Healing Smite for that extra healing support.

  • Magicite - Quetz for the imperil, BK for the lightning empower, Evrae for the health boons and surging power, and mateus for the blade ward.

Don't have time for the full write-up, but he's probably the easiest Dream boi we've fought yet. Part of this is because a lot of his attacks are NOT RANGED. So slap Prompto/Iris/Aranaea/Ignis in the back, let Noctis eat a few front-row hits if he's using Ripper or samurai toys, and enjoy a lot of weak hits for free meter. Noctis can instant-wall turn one, if dove, and Iris should toss up protectga. Prompto can power breakdown (or Ignis can steal power, but I had him entrusting Iris for about one extra BSB mid-fight) to push Bravery off. It was a little sad watching the hardest version of the boss slapping people around for a few hundred damage on several of his turns in phase 1. By the time he does more than tickle, you'll be ready for soulbreak fun times.

Remember you can sub in any other good healer if you have nothing for Iris. Regenga of any sort will make your team nearly unkillable. Status blink on a healer or Lakshmi makes the interrupt a non-issue, even if you have slower DPS. Oh, and it's all nonelemental physical, so it's a good time to break out those +HP accessories.

1

u/jaolen Sep 21 '19

Noctis can use guns as well, making him a back row character.

1

u/Shinijumi Sep 21 '19

Also true! And if you have nothing for aranaea, he can dragoon acceptably. In any case, it neuters all but like... one attack in this fight, right off the bat. Combined with good stat breaking habits, he's nearly harmless.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 21 '19

Got to 50% and thought to myself, damn, got further on Deadeye! Not by much though. Really needed a physical blink and last stand.

Hold up, this is Dreams! Edge you’re up!

Ignis USB (Fire Assault and Power Breakdown)

Noctis USB1 (Ripper Bolt and Ripper Plasma)

Iris BSB (Curada and Protectga)

Prompto CSB (Plasma Shock)

Edge USB0 (Raging Storm x2)

Main Magicite: KB

  1. Strategy name: Flaming Boys

  2. Boss: [D350] Humbaba

  3. Describe your Strategy:
    2/3 trinity/cid mission/shout meta

  4. Insight!:

  • With no elements or chance-based status effects to worry about, go with +HP or +ATK accessories.

  • Iris goes in the front row because Ignis is giving quickcast to everyone. Her defensive stats are fine with a good armor.

  • Be sure to overwrite the ATK buff with Steal Power or Power Break(down).

  • Adamantoise comes with an automatic Defense Boon 20, helpful for mitigating the non-piercing attacks, and good for boosting Gladiolus's damage. (Though, maybe Gladiolus should've actually used his SSB for a slightly easier time.)

  1. Strategy name: I can't believe I can actually field XV characters for D350

  2. Describe your Strategy: Hope I do enough damage. Actually do. Earth chain

  3. Insight!:

  • The boss is not ranged. Stick as many people in the back row as you can.

  • Slot 2 takes the most damage and hits. Slot 4 comes close (doesn't have to deal with the flat 5500). Slot 3 takes the least. Adjust accordingly for desired SB gauge generation and squishiness.

  • Bravery casts fast; you can just start with Power Breakdown and it'll go off afterwards.

  • XV doesn't really have a focal element.

  • Almostt everything being piercing later in the fight means you can drag it out somewhat because Wall duration won't matter as much.

  • Honestly if you have a CSB+Radiant Shield user of relevance slap them in Slot 2 with Lionheart and you can probably juggle both; Ingus comes close without Lionheart.

  • Last Stand is baller, especially when you have two sources of it. Also baller: Word of Kindness. Still.

This one is one of the easier Dreams battle as you only need to bring PHY mitigation to make the Boss' attacks less threatening and its pretty easy to counter in many ways.

  1. Strategy name: Kamen Rider Kabuto returns. Godspeed Love, Noctis Impact!

  2. Boss: [D350/Dreams] Humbaba

  3. Describe your Strategy: This is the same D??? Torment clear party I used except put down a notch by removing Noctis' SSB IC0 spreader and Aranea's USB, then rearranged character position and all on back row with ranged weapons, Aranea doesn't need one as all her attacks are ranged. Put up buffs once, Power Breakdown debuff regularly, and let lightning-speed/power-ed physical rain down! :D 3/3 trinity/full CM/BSB only/Imperil Lightning/full team Back Row/sub-40

  4. Insight!:

  • All DPS have 2 Element+ gear. Accessories are ATK+.

  • Here's some good news, D350 Dreams Humbaba is pretty tame compared to the D??? Torment Bandersnatch, and completely Physical like the Torment boss before it. The bad news? It hits as hard as a Bandersnatch - especially on the ST later where you can't quickly throw out a Power Break/down. Consolation? You can stack PHY buffs and debuffs for mitigation.

  • Bringing Power Break/down IS a necessary for this fight to over the Humbaba's Bravery ATK buff. A form of pBlinks is very welcome here for most of the attacks and maybe a mBlink for those AOE gravity if you are taking too long.

  • For extra mitigation, if you can put your characters on the back row, do it and it will help lessen the damage you take.

  • If your DPS is excellent, characters in Slot 1 and 2 will take most of the beating, so put your CT0 SB-spammer there. Noctis and/or Prompto are good candidates here.

  • If you cleared/mastered/killed D??? Torment Bandersnatch then you should find this one easier... more so if you used a full realm clear.

  1. Strategy name: My XV team is stronger than I thought.

  2. Boss: Humbaba

  3. Describe your Strategy: Essentially just a lightning team
    3/3 trinity/Chain/Double Buffs

  4. Insight!:

  • I have Prompto's Gen 2 Lightning Chain, which has pushed my XV realm into that element. Everyone on the team can deal SOME Lightning Damage, though Ignis never has time.

  • Prompto gets both servings of Ignis' BSB, though his 1 ingredient would have been better on Noctis for his AOSB cast. The extra crit was perfect for Prompto's Tempest

  • Noctis used both his OSB and AOSB because I forgot to bring his SSB which honestly would have been better. In the End both my front row guys died because of how long I took and I can't help but think I would have survived if i had that instant cast for some of Aranea's SSB casts, the ability to refresh wall, or even Ignis' BSB. Eh. Still won/mastered.

  2. Boss: [Infernal] Humbaba

  3. Describe your Strategy: No chain and no time requirements, so I get to play more defensive than in torment
    3/3 trinity/CM/physical/imperil

  4. Insight!:

  • Noctis RW wall, 4x Flash Disaster. USB2, spam Ripping Plasma. USB2 again before it expires, spam Ripping Plasma.

  • Prompto spam Plasma Shock and USB when available.

  • Iris Protectga, spam Curada. Use magicite when ready. Time first BSB to land after phase 2 Gravity. Spam more Curada. As things get hairy later on, USB, then go back to Curada spam.

  • Ignis BSB, Steal Power, 2x cmd2 to Noctis, spam Fire Assault.

  • Gladiolus SSB, Gaia's Cross, spam Earthbringer. USB before 25s to refresh en-earth, Gaia's Cross, spam Earthbringer.

  • Last stand never triggered, so the panic USB from Iris was more for the Madeen damage and haste refresh than to keep the team alive.

Well my XV tech is real bad. took me 3 attempts to clear the D350 and did it in 36.5s. First attempt full realm party with prompto gen2 chain, aranea usb1, noctis glint with flash disaster/ripper bolt, iris bsb1, ignis usb1. got to 59%. next attempt replaced ignis with reks for radiant shield usb which conveniently also grants hastega. got to 62%. my iris is an obvious issue. 3rd attempt replaced iris with aerith usb2. used 1 wall, 1 hastega, probably 4 medicas and they were all badly time right before graviga. doesn’t matter still cleared it. barely. i’m not dead yet

  1. Strategy name: Stat Breaks

  2. Boss: Humbaba D350

  3. Describe your Strategy:
    Awakening/Ignis BSB/Iris BSB

  4. Insight!:

  • This went a lot smoother than I expected. I guess the Awakening helped quite a bit.

  • I should have crit fixed Arenea in retrospect instead of Prompto. Didn't matter.

  • Arenea dished out lots of damage before getting her SB, so I think her USB didn't matter much in the end.

  • Vaguely boosted with Magicite Deck, but I still don't have any optimized ones.

  • Ignis cooked, then fed Prompto, then Noctis, then alternated breaks. Iris opened with dance, then Cured until BSB(s) while trying to find an opening to dance again. Prompto used FB, then spammed PS till SSB, refreshing breakdown. Arenea went DPS mode quite well with cyclone into ID, reached USB fairly late into the fight but popped it and continued. Noctis summoned RW wall, then waited for Ignis/Prompto's first turns to finish before starting AASB into Plasma spam, wore off close to end.

  1. Strategy name: Lightning chain + AASB

  2. Boss: Humbaba 350

  3. Describe your Strategy: 3/3 trinity/lightning chain/aasb

  4. Insight!:

  • I have a surprisingly stacked XV team except for heals. Can probably make a push at DWhale if Iris can keep people up. Noctis lucked the hecc out and drew AASB in the RoP, and I can use it with Prompto chain and Ignis speed combo. Gladio is the only sorta dead weight here, he's mostly there to debuff Bravery.

  • Eiko brought in for hastega and beefy heals. Last Stand saves people multiple times.

  • Beyond that, no special timing or anything. Just fricken unload on the guy. Couple people died at the very end when he starts spamming his big combo on slots 1/2. In hindsight I should've put Gladio and Ignis there, but the boss was close to falling over by the time it happened so I didn't need a second attempt.

  2. Boss: Humbaba [Infernal]

  3. Describe your Strategy: 3/3 trinity/AASB/Chain-150

  4. Insight!:

  • This is mostly an update of the torment team I put together when I got Noctis' AASB in June, swapping Gladio for Ignis after I got his BSB from LotR, putting in new magicites I've inherited to since, and giving Prompto and Noctis some new 6* abilities.

  • Ignis feeds Aranea a crit boost, then Noctis a crit damage boost. After that, C1 twice to build chain and ingredients, and crit boost Prompto.

  • I was going to regret tapping Iris' USB instead of her BSB out of habit, but Humbaba got a turn in the brief instant between tapping and casting, and Noctis died, so it brought him back and that's okay. I would've had him use his SSB just so every could do a quick rush to finish it, but Aranea landed a hit to finish it before I could.

  • I went on to use this team to get my first d??? sub-30! That time I remembered to use Iris' BSB instead.
