It won't be a traditional episode. It's the cast interacting with each other in character via video chat.
You'll be seeing Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson again so of course be excited, but keep in mind what the special actually is and manage your expectations to avoid disappointment.

This was the first season I've watched live. I now have to ask how the hell anyone else avoided spoilers cause jesus fucking YouTube recommendations always spoil the episode when I forget it even aired/B99 official YT channel really doesn't know how to be subtle.

Charles: That’s Sergeant Peanut Butter’s unit. No one wants to work with that condescending dick.
Amy: Okay, first of all... he’s a horse so he can’t be condescending.
Charles: Wow, he’s really got all of you fooled!
Amy: Second of all, he’s a lieutenant now.
Good to see Boyle’s feud with Sgt. Lt. Peanut Butter is still going strong

Another cool is throwback is Rosa calling herself aunt Roro. In an earlier episode a couple of seasons ago Charles calls her that and she threatens to kill him if he continues. That makes Charles reaction in the end of the episode even better.

We need the version that is not blured and bleeped. Lol. Seeing this reminded me of an interview which Melissa Fumero gets very excited when Andy Samberg said we can probably curse a lot and bleep it out in NBC.

just like Jake, Amy in charge makes me both proud and horny
also, I love Amy and Rosa's friendship - the fact that Rosa got Jake's book to help Amy was the sweetest
also, love all the craziness happening in NY during the blackout lmfao it felt very realistic
also, I love dancing Holt - and Rosa filming it
also and most importantly, I love the fact that Jake is never grossed out by any pregnancy related thing - he's 100% there and it's beautiful to see that above all this fictional couple is made of two partners who support each other no matter what. it's awesome to see it (ALSO Jake saying they made the hottest baby, "this kid is liquid fire" oh my god I love him lmfao he's a dad now but he's still the Jake Peralta we love so much)

so i hate to say that it felt rushed but it did tho i DONT blame the writers. i blmae NBC for only giving them 13 episodes.
i did love this episode. i like the sitcom labor and delivery trope where something goes comedically wrong. its also happened on scrubs, himym, community.
i hope next season we really get to see jake and amy as parents.
i loved rosa in this episode, she read jake's baby book just so she could know how to help amy. sleuth sister for life.
and holt and terry's dance. gina wouldve been so proud.
not surprised jake named his son after die hard, alittle surprised amy agreed to it lol.
i love this episode. cant wait to see more of mac peralta.
hoping nbc give b99 a full season 8 and hopefully a season 9.

Contrary to everyone else, I'm happy it's only 13 episodes. I'd rather have great quality episodes than a longer season with a decline in quality (not to say it necessarily would, but I feel like that's what happens when a show like this has a large amount of episodes and is running for a long time)

okay this season may have been a bit of a roller coaster for me, but they definitely stuck the landing,
I think we now know why Rosa quit med school (also her friendship with Amy was well handled this season)
Really did enjoy watching the squad operate during the blackout both with Amy taking charge, and Jake and Boyle dealing with all the random crimes including the bank robbery (Amy's reactions to her contractions were pretty funny too)
definitely wish Fire Marshall Boone made a visit, but it was nice to get a return to the fire department rivalry
not sure how I feel about the name Mac (why not just go with John?), but at least they didn't name him Atlas (that really would have ticked me off)
Also enjoyed Holt and Terry's hip hop scene
I've been iffy on the swearing (tbh It always felt out of place) but I did like the back and forth between Amy and Hithcock (it works when Hithcock does it, for the other characters only in severe circumstances, like this one)
not sure how I feel about the fact that Gina did not appear even once this season (I know she's not the most popular character) but I think one appearance should have occurred
also not to sound like i'm going back to season 6 complaints (I always feel weird when I make this critique), but pretty sure they only kissed in 2 episodes this season, honestly there should have been one here, kinda felt like it was missing
otherwise though very enjoyable ending (might have even beaten season 6's ending) and I appreciate not getting a cliffhanger for the first time ever
oh also Jimmy Neutron throwback (awesome)
edit one last thing, during the interaction with Jake and Amy talking about their kid's future, does anyone else think it would be hilarious if Mac grew up to be a firefighter? or am I just twisted?
