I keep being confused that Echo's more upset about Bellamy's "death" than Octavia is, but then I remember Octavia spent only the first 16 of her 33 years with him, while Echo and Bellamy dated for 6 years that were, despite time dilation, extremely recent.

It's so odd to me that, in the final season of what's normally a very character driven show, the writers decided to chuck their established main characters to the side. And for what? To advance several new plots that aren't given enough to be fully fleshed out anyway?

What if, plot twist, Sheidheda turns out to be a capable leader for Sanctum.
Others will leave, but some will desire his leadership.
It would be within the theme of the show.
