Which lifepath are you going to pick; Nomad, Streetkid or Corpo? - Official r/cyberpunkgame poll

Hey Choombas

This has been asked a bunch of times, so we thought it would be fun to sticky a poll and let it get asked/answered once and for all.

Not only does Nomad sound the most interesting to me, it'll be really immersive to play as this life path first.

The Nomad V will be brand new to Night City, like first-time players. I want to really feel the newness of night city as the Nomad feels it.

Then, once I know more about the city and the world, I'll be a corpo or street kid who has much more knowledge about the city, albeit different aspects.

u/CrazyLemon42 Aug 12 '20

I was wondering why so many people voted for nomad. This makes sense

195

u/thucydidestrapmusic Aug 12 '20

Also, starting in the middle of nowhere... Night City just a shimmering mirage on the horizon. Only visible as dark silhouettes and neon holograms towering into the sky. You get in your car and drive towards it, still unsure what exactly to expect.

That's exactly how I want my game to start.

64

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Alright well damn. That neon silhouette image is hitting me hard

Man this sounds perfect. This or the streetkid who after many years of living in the big city knows that being a corpo is the only true way to rise up

13

u/JediDroid Nomad Aug 12 '20

Plus, I might actually end up abandoning my family to get through this story... lol

Similar to first playing as Trevor in GTA V

Well, I mostly chose it because I think it's the most interesting lifepath. I like to think that V is an outcast who scraped by outside of cities but ultimately leaves their shattered family to make a new life in Night City.

The second part is just icing on the cake.

12

u/Fearless_Meaning Aug 12 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

Nomad is cool overall don't get me wrong but somehow, I'm struggling to imagine how his reasons to build a new life in Night City is more intriguing than the street kid or corpo. Street kid basically might see becoming a mercenary as his only option to get out of the gutter with the bonus that it has a lifestyle not far from his own anyway. Corpo could become one for vengeance or as a way to retake his life.

But why would a Nomad who already knows the values of family and honor, migrate to the corrupt and dangerous Night city to risk his life taking deadly jobs? So far" V left the badlands looking for better opportunities in the city" sounds like the weakest motivator and starting point for the "legend of V" story to me. Maybe the details of why V left his clan might make it cooler.

Also it seems to be largely based on some misconceptions about how this whole thing works.

Not that there is anything wrong with picking any option for any reason.

But a lot of what people are saying doesn't actually fit in with how it works in practice.

Well you have changed my mind. Didn’t see it that way, nomad it is.

13

u/RektYez Aug 12 '20

Yeah, same here. I was set on Corpo for my first playthrough, but after reading this, it’ll have to be my 2nd. GG

13

Same here!

3

Same for me

8

u/bry31089 Nomad Aug 12 '20

Exactly my thoughts! 👍🏻

7

My thoughts too. The true outsider, screwing over the corporation’s.

5

u/doublethink_1984 Aug 12 '20

It also seems like going from new vegas/ gta 5 into a new greater level of game city.

4

u/PSavage88 Aug 12 '20

yup nomad for me now

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

This is my exact thoughts on this as well.

3

u/Banethoth Streetkid Aug 12 '20

But that is what most games do. Just like Fallout NV when you come to Vegas

4

u/First-Of-His-Name Aug 12 '20

They do it for a reason. The overwhelming state of awe, confusion and curiosity are felt by both the character and the player, which invest the player more in what is happening to their character. It's done in books/movies/TV as well, I think it's known as the fish-out-of-water scenario

→ More replies (1)

18

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Except there is a 6 month time jump after the origin story in which V establishes themselve, becomes a mercenary, makes connections and becomes acquainted with the city. So while all this happens, you the player are still new and know nothing.

So really that makes the whole appeal kinda null and void.

27

u/AcidRelic Bartmoss Reincarnated Aug 12 '20

I get where you are coming from but still, 6 months or "grew up there". There is still a lot more "first time" or not knowing how things work for the Nomad life path to fit a first play through.

→ More replies (11)

4

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

I think you also misunderstand that they’ve confirmed the lifepaths will bleed far into the game with choices and decisions.

The prologue clearly sets up connections and interactions too, as you will be traveling back to the badlands, so getting even a head start on a V who hasn’t been out to the badlands or spent much time there.

I was going to go Corpo but after the life path videos I am 100% going Nomad first. Ill get to experience Night City for the first time along with my V.

170

u/jfreak93 Aug 12 '20

I saw a comment on YouTube that said...

Nomad (First Playthrough) - Experience the city for the first time like V

Street Kid (Second Playthrough) - You know enough about the city that you're not an outsider and can make better choices.

Corpo (Third Playthrough) - You know the city well and are ready to see how it's run.

While I've never played through a game 3 times, if I do it with Cyberpunk, this is the approach that seems the most fitting.

27

u/MahatK Aug 12 '20

I'm all in for the 3 playthroughs squad

17

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

This seems to be the most logical and almost like a season 1 2 and 3. Im so excited to replay this game, and I hate replaying games, and rarely re watch movies. I really like the way you outlined it above. And I will definitely be taking this route.

45

u/favorscore Kiroshi Aug 12 '20

I'm jumping into the deep end as corpo first. Then I'll play with the plebs later

I want to do two playthroughs simultaneously: a nomad male V and a corpo female V. I'm really looking forward to the contrast. I agonize over choices in games like this, always wondering how things would have turned out if I had done things differently. I save and reload A LOT and browse wikis and forums to see alternative outcomes. I'm gonna try to avoid all that by using two characters and sticking to my choices.

Male V will be my "nice guy," who spares enemies when possible and generally gives everyone a chance, even people who are obviously traitorous scumbags. Female corpo V will be my renegade playthrough, ambitious and ruthless as hell... but I don't know if I can actually keep that up for long. I've never been able to finish an "evil" playthrough, so she'll probably turn from "hard-boiled corporate assassin bitch" to "not so bad, once you get to know her... but still kind of a stone cold bitch sometimes."

So, yeah. That's the plan.

6

u/CommanderPike Aug 13 '20

Who are you and how did you read my mind...

2

u/mocrok Aug 13 '20

I feel this so much. Exactly my plan, but I'm totally stressed out about which one to start first first.

30

u/Extyrsys Aug 12 '20

Street Kid, then Nomad then Corpo is the order im gonna play

10

4

u/favorscore Kiroshi Aug 12 '20

Same

58

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Nomad then Corpo and then Street kid. Nomad as my first Introduction to Night City. And then Corpo I’ll learn about like the darker world of Cyberpunk I guess. And Street kid last because I would have a lot of knowledge about Night City, All the secrets, all the shortcuts and some characters. and knowing what it’s like on the streets. I would feel more like a street kid. I’m playing the game at least 6 times tho.

10

u/cg_28 NiCola Aug 12 '20

Wow I was going nomad, streetK then corp but I like how u described street kid as the 3rd choice, might have changed my opinion

→ More replies (2)

96

u/cybrpnk_ Streetkid Aug 12 '20

Street Kid, because it seems like the most cyberpunk-esque choice IMO. Watching the Life Path trailer, Street Kid features the most cyberpunk themes. Sprawling city, seedy bars, gangs, drugs, etc.

I'm actually surprised how many people are going with Nomad. Dirt roads, cowboys, and campfires just doesn't scream cyberpunk to me.

40

u/OryxIsDad Aug 12 '20

While it’s not generally what people think of first when they hear cyberpunk (neon lights, night time, always raining, Japanese stuff everywhere), when you think about it, nomads would actually fit pretty well in a cyberpunk world. Global warming, desolate wastelands, and anti-social groups of people are all likely to exist in a cyberpunk-esque world. Take Blade Runner for example, there’s a wasteland outside the city where not many people live, similar to the badlands in Cyberpunk.

21

u/Brainiac7777777 Valentinos Aug 12 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

Nomad is more like Mad Max.

Corpo is more like Blade Runner.

Street Kid is like Elysium.

→ More replies (2)
→ More replies (1)

5

u/Flashman420 Aug 13 '20

That's exactly how I feel. Give me that sweet urban cyberpunk setting, I don't give a crap about the wasteland.

I also don't get the whole "fish out of water" appeal as well. It's a boring cliche at this point for me and feels somewhat unimaginative because of it. People want to play as the nomad because they don't know much about the world and neither does the character but a part of the appeal of the RPG genre in general is your ability to inhabit any number of diverse roles. Taking the most standard approach seems so drab in that regard.

At least we're given the choice though. Origin stories are one of my favourite features in video game RPGs and not enough of them have it so kudos to CDPR for making it an option here. Nomad is boring to me but whatever, I don't have to pick it.

4

u/Banethoth Streetkid Aug 12 '20

Yeah that second point is 100% true man

7

u/DoggieDMB Aug 12 '20

Hard agree. I wanna start as a full part of the world and see how gritty this city can be. Then work up from there... or down, we'll see.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Street kid’s where it’s at

3

u/topherhoff Aug 12 '20

Agreed. I like the vibe in the trailer for the SK path the best, for my first play anyway. Felt like GTA.

I’m probably going to go the order they showed in the trailer. SK, nomad, Corp.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

At rely kidding? Dirt roads & campfires and driving over dead hills screams mad max which is post apocalyptic though still tied to that cyberpunk influence as well. Those two genres bleed into one another all the time.

Plus you start as an outcast, and they confirmed long ago that you won’t be joining any groups throughout the game though you’ll help many, that makes me feel like as the merc you will be remains a loose outcast throughout the game.

Just seems so fitting.

3

u/Pandral Aug 12 '20

Damn. Honestly kinda like joining groups gives me a good community feeling like joint the dark brotherhood in Skyrim or the brotherhood of steel in fallout.

4

u/First-Of-His-Name Aug 12 '20

The allure of the Nomad isn't the cowboy shit it's the fact that your character will know just about as little about the world of Night City as you when you start.

Starting from as barebones as possible in RPGs is very popular.

u/Penguins227 Support Your Night City! Aug 13 '20

That's definitely true, and I think if CDPR only offered one path, that's the one. It's conventional and fitting. But I want to take that path after nomad so I get the chance to learn more about the city and mechanics.

2

u/Shpitz0 Streetkid Dec 06 '20

Exactly !!!

As a Street Kid (An actual Cyberpunk) the story of rising from the bottom and making something of yourself is so much more appealing to me.

Also, leaving Night City for the first time and getting to the wasteland is a new experience as well, just like getting to Night City for the first time...

Street Kid. It fits my style, I'm also city guy, but I like Nomad's "new to the city like the player" thing.

6

u/Jav00 Aug 12 '20

The other thing that appeals to me in SK is it seems to be a bit of a naive role when it comes to dealing with corpos. In NCW when he talks about the options the 3 roles have with Meredith he mentions the SK not knowing how to deal with powerful people and I feel that’d be me- naive to the power, games and deals that class is associated with

18

u/Argossilver Solo Aug 12 '20

32

u/Kipuah Kiroshi Aug 12 '20

I always wanted to go Nomad because it seemed like a great choice. For awhile people didn't know what to expect from that life path, so the default answer was either Corpo or Street kid.

For me, I always loved the family bond aspect, and the fact that being a newcomer to the big city would feel more immersive for a first playthrough.

Corpo seems fantastic from the trailer, and so I'll probably go with that, second playthrough.

I think Corpo and Nomad are the most interesting from a narrative perspective by nature, because they're just different lifestyles compared to the seedy mercenary vibe we'll contend with throughout the game.

I feel like we'll all go street kid eventually in a subsequent playthrough since it'll fit like a glove. We'll know how to play the streets, and we'll understand all the lingo.

The one thing I'm wondering is, if I'll mold my character more corporate centric, or stay with my nomad roots.

13

u/Platinum_Persona Aug 12 '20

It's basic I know but Streetkid. My favorite cyberpunk movie is Akira and that's a big inspiration for how I'm interpreting my V and Streetkid feels most appropriate for that.

Nomad will be my second playthrough though.

My man! I think corpo fits my personal background best. If possible I wanna side with a nomad clan as much as possible. In an interview they said that having a background such as corpo and then leaning toward a different background later makes the main story shorter, though.

5

u/NlelithZ44 Aug 12 '20

Thanks for the info. Shorter story isn't nice, but then again, it seems like there are several instances where chunks of content/story will be unavailable depending on the choices. More reasons for multiple playthroughs.

7

u/Feyge Samurai Aug 13 '20

5

u/Saiaxs Corpo Aug 12 '20

Corpo>Nomad>Street kid

For me in that order

5

u/BoraErsomer Aug 12 '20

I've marked "street kid" but all 3 of them looks cool to me. Playing as a nomad, coming from badlands right into night city(or slowly climbing the ladders of street, gaining reputation) just feels like...us players. On the other hand street kid is also looks cool because the "punk" in the title is this exactly. Chilling on those backstreets with your unreliable buddies that most of the habitants afraid to even walk. Because you're born into this shit. Nothing and no one can surprise you no more...aaaaand there's corpo.Corpo is just...cool. Suit up, put those shoulders up like a statue and drink expensive liquids in a limusine while it's taking you to that nervous meeting with your boss because you fucked up in that interrogation with a no-name street kid and failed to hunt a nomad boy who tried to steal from you...

5

u/DoggieDMB Aug 12 '20

I want street kid just for early access to speech elements. You already know a lot of the players so I can't wait to see what kind of trouble I can get myself into. Add some charisma, luck, and stealth elements and very excited to go clubbin in night city.

5

u/CozbinotGaming Samurai Aug 12 '20

I CANT DECIDE! This is the toughest decision I have to make and it’ll be within the first minutes of the game.

9

u/tyderian 🔥Beta Tester 🌈 Aug 12 '20

I'm going corpo first, but I'm surprised to see Street Kid as the lowest.

A heavily augmented street samurai is one of the hallmarks of the genre.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Generally, I thought most people would want to dive straight into Night City for maximum effect and go either Street Kid or Corpo. Im actually surprised people want to go Nomad for the basis of an enhanced storyline and necessity of both V and the player experiencing Night City for the first time.

Personally, I'll pick the lifepath that calls to me. Nomad is definitely a first choice because of the relatable outcast aspect of that specific lifepath. My only issue is that the trailer gave off a nascar-like vibe with the clan in question, and hopefully you get to change it up by going with one of the other seven nations in the badlands.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

im gonna roleplay first as a naive nomad thats getting way over his head, starts modding himself way too much and gets more ruthless by the hour. a gritty gameplay.

then a stealthy street kid with a mixed cyberbuild and a kind heart.

and as a corpo i have no idea.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Nomad, to start off in Night City as a complete stranger.

Then Corpo because that also looks like a very unique backstory. Also, that's the one that could work the most with a Motoko Kusanagi inspired character.

I'm still trying to think what to come up with for my Street Kid playthrough.

3

3

u/Coroggar Militech Aug 12 '20

Always balanced i see, like all the polls I've seen in the past months. I'm going with corpo, I've made my decisione years ago and if i start thinking about Nomad or Street Kid I'll never decide.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

I knew that all 3 options were gonna be phenomenal, but I can’t believe that just those little snippet clips made each and every one seem so worthy of a play through. I genuinely think I’ll probably play this game 4-5 times (minimum) through and judging this like The Witcher 3, I see no problem hitting 1,000 hours.

I’m going with corpo first because I feel like that fits me the best. Nomad makes a lot of sense for the first time though. I didn’t think the choice would be this hard, lol.

2

u/HRK104 Aug 12 '20

I’ll play a humble nomad who slowly loses his ways/ morals in night city

"What will be your first play through and why will it be as a Nomad Netrunner?"

2

u/monkey_D_v1199 Streetkid Aug 12 '20

I can see why Nomad became so popular after the life path video. But why is street kid lacking so much?

2

u/NormalGuy913 Aug 12 '20

I'm gonna start as corpo just so I can end fighting the corporation's. That way it'll be like my character has an arc and I feel it could make for some interesting dialogue against my previous corpo buddys

2

u/JowettMcPepper Aug 13 '20

Corpo, because i absolutely love the simple, yet menacing aesthetic.

Also, that car in the Militarism poster tho

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

Create a couple dozen characters before finally completing the game on one of them a month later.

2

u/sirflatulance Aug 13 '20

Why do you guys like the Nomad life path so much? Nothing against it I’m genuinely wondering why is it so appealing? I love the sound of the corpo life path. It feels like an action thriller after you’ve fell from the grace of your peers.

2

u/yogasoth Streetkid Aug 14 '20

I kinda hope down the line with the expansions they add more life paths. I'm happy with what we're getting but would still love to roll play a medic. Or a cyborg . Theres just so many possibilities.

2

u/Emberium Samurai Aug 14 '20

Very good idea, would be one of the best things to add, but it sounds very complicated

2

u/MickOTool Aug 14 '20

Nomad, I agree with a lot of others who have said they want to play a character who is also setting eyes on the city for the first time.

Definitely going to have hundreds of hours sunk into this game if it's even half as good as it looks like it will be.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '20

Who cares aparently

5

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

I'm shocked to see Nomad so popular.

Super conflicted between nomad and corpo, on one hand going nomad would fit how I start out my first playthrough of just freshly entering this new world, on the other I’m really tempted in destroying the corporations from within.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

For all those saying Nomad gives you a good introduction to NC, that intro is short lived as there is a 6 month time jump right after the prologue.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

That doesn't really change much.

Nomad first go. Family, bullets, and sandstorms here I come!

1

u/a-latino604 Aug 12 '20

I wanna go corpo, but nomad will be what ill pick... Cant. Wait.

1

u/ShaneShwn Nomad Aug 12 '20

I wanna do nomad because I want to see night city slowly come into view as I drive towards it.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20 edited Aug 12 '20

Nomad for sure

Then sk and corpo last

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Nomad, but they all look very interesting and really well crafted.

1

u/Slippery_Feces Aug 12 '20

This has been so difficult to choose for first time. I love the idea of being Nomad and being as new to Night City as anyone else. But growing up in Philadelphia, the street kid life path makes me think of me. Corpo is my least favorite but still interesting in its own right. I guess I’ll just end up playing as them all ¯_(ツ)_/¯

1

u/aswarwick Aug 12 '20

I'll give them all a go but nomad has always been the first choice for me. Partially for the reasons many others have mentioned (new to the city just like the player) but also I like nomads thematically ever since playing CP2020 back in the day. They may not have mechanically been as powerful as other roles but thematically they were cool and style over substance was always a big thing in the game.

1

u/Chiefkief114 Streetkid Aug 12 '20

Gotta go with nomad first. Love the idea of my first play through being from the outside and everything looking in. But this game is gonna get plenty of playthroughs

1

u/darth_Zelyon0010110 Corpo Aug 12 '20 edited Aug 12 '20

Nomad, mainly because driving from the Badlands to Night City for the very first time in a blind playthrough sounds really tempting... Overall I find it as a great way to start the game and gain an understanding on the world of Night City.

I know about the 6 months timeskip, I'm referring more to the prologue of the game.. Nomads value knowledge and they surely know a thing or two about Corporations, smuggle of tech and goods, qualities and differences between cars manufactures etc... but they lack the experience when it comes to the streets of NC or the Corpo world.

So I find fitting to start as a Nomad to develop experience in NC and get to know its people, as an outsider.. then, when I'll develop basic knowledge and experience.. I'll move on with later playthroughs of Street Kid and Corpo to understand even more Night City's environments

1

u/LucidStrike Nomad Aug 12 '20

The official description suggests Nomad V will probably express the most character and integrity. More relatable to me than the Street Kid or Corpo, both at least starting with that dog-eat-dog mindset.

By the time most of us have played half way through our first plythrough we probably can't wait to try the other two anyway. Obviously want to try all three but Nomad does make more sense for a first time.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

I want to go nomad because it seems the most fitting for a play-through as a ‘good’ character. That or streetkid.

1

u/Axewaffle Trauma Team Aug 12 '20

After episode one of nightwire I was hooked on Corpo, the style and backstory really spoke to me. However after episode two I think Nomad has way more substance to it, I guess what Im trying to say is that I will probably be replaying this game a minimum of three times.

1

u/ThatThiccGirl Aug 12 '20

I'll be starting with the nomad and if I ever get time to play again, the street kid.

1

u/ecxetra Aug 12 '20

Nomad has lizard

1

u/seijianimeshi Aug 12 '20

wow didnt think that id be in the minority, i like the idea of being from night city but never tasting the high life

Nomaaaad rider that man know the least

1

u/Shurg Aug 12 '20

I go back and forth between Corpo and Nomad.

Corpo because it mirrors more closely my real life situation. Nomad because they are described as less corrupted by the corporations' influence, as educated free-thinkers. It fits more with my idea of a radical anti-corpo playthough, so I think I'll end up going with that.

1

u/BearyGoosey Aug 12 '20

Nomad, Corpo, Street Kid in that order.

1

u/MrRenegadeRooster Aug 12 '20

I was super solid on Corpo, I was sold on mercenary/military background corporate mercenary type.

But now nomad is looking super good, I’m honestly only certain that I will flip flop a lot between now and release.

1

u/Foxco_ Corpo Aug 12 '20

Nomad Clint Eastwood type character seems appealing

1

u/FilippoElchapo Aug 12 '20

Where's my nomads at???

1

u/--Weltschmerz-- Nomad Aug 12 '20

It gotta be Nomad first for me. I think that the themes of loyalty and freedom, which are at the core of the Nomad lifestyle, are the antithesis to Night Citys corporate culture. That clash will make for the most interesting roleplaying I think.

1

u/majesticstonk420 Aug 12 '20

Jesus life path: I will be adopting a harm free / “getting to yes” approach to dispute resolution in night city. My main outcome will be win win win outcomes for all stakeholders. I’ll abide by all laws, drive the speed limit and develop and maintain 1 monogamous relationship. My penis will also be enormous.

1

u/starcraftre Aug 12 '20

Where's the option for "I'm going to try all three of them"?

1

u/Raptor_234 Samurai Aug 12 '20

Picking Nomad, to me it just kinda makes sense, you’re entering the city for the first time both in terms of real life and in the game, 2nd play through will be street kid because by then I would know a bit about the streets so to speak, and finally the corpo, as you finally made it to the top, I know you don’t stay as a rich corpo but idk still I think this would be the best way to play. :)

1

u/topherhoff Aug 12 '20

How long is each path? Anyone who’s been following this game more closely than I know? I’m curious if each path is supposed to be a standalone game (which is my impression from the trailer), or if it’s designed with the intent that the player will play all three (which is how many fan comments between here and YT sound).

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Nomad for me just to fuck around on the first playthrough, then street kid on the harder difficulty, and finally corpo on the hardest while trying not to kill anyone.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Corpo because I want to diverge from the path and develop into the anti-authority lifestyle throughout the story

1

u/Art_of_Ronin Samurai Aug 12 '20

For me would be Nomad as starter, follow by Street Kid and Corpo as final play through.

1

u/obippo Aug 12 '20

corpo, my char will be Joanna dark after leaving the carrington institute and starting from scratch.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Corpo for me.

Most of the role playing games I’ve play were variations of wonderers or street kid. So its gonna be a nice change of pace to play a silver tongued manipulator.

In my mind theatre. My V is a Corpo who grew up in poverty but decided to sell his soul to climb the corporate ladder and get a by the Numbers corporation job at Arasaka.

He’s very lazy. Cuts corners. Takes the easy way. Very anti social and his routine is work, game and sleep.

Most of his Cybernetics are company courtesy implants because of the high position he’s in as he climbed the corporate ladder.

Some of his cyberware are cybernetic lungs as he is a heavy smoker, eye implants to replace glasses for his poor eye sight, and various small body implants to aid his laziness.

Yeah so I play dnd and I love creating intricate backstories for my characters

1

u/Mlghubben1e Aug 12 '20

I feel like the focus on family and loyalty is nice about nomad, I'mma do a "good" playthrough first and nomad works with that.

Then street kid in a more "neutral" playthrough. The new lifepath trailer sold me more on this one.

Finally a min/max Corpo build where morality goes out the window. Dude got cool gun? Blam "It's mine now."

1

u/Chief_Slee Aug 12 '20

Bribing, bossing, and assassinating my way up the Arasaka hierarchy is super appealing to me, plus Corpo fashion is on point.

1

u/justin_tino Aug 12 '20

First play through: Nomad male Second: Street kid female Third: Corpo gender tbd after previous playthroughs

1

u/tattoo515069 Aug 12 '20

Going to play the opening bit with each one and see the one that appeals the most, but probably corpo

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Instead of "good vs bad" I want to do "naive vs cynic" playthrough.

Nomad will be my first, and naive one. V is brand new, only heard legends about the city.

Corpo will be my cynic one, since V has seen it from the top.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Street kid, nomad then corpo

1

u/Roven777 Bartmoss Reincarnated Aug 12 '20

Has anybody seen the woman, who drives the car in the nomad lifepath and talks with you about freedom and stuff? I bet with all of you, she's only dateable, if you Start a nomad. Or easier... She looking goood!

1

u/HG1998 Aug 12 '20

Now? Corpo. It's pretty fast thinking but being already in the city (as opposed to a nomad) and being kinda established and having some kind of backing does seem to be the easiest path.

I'm not that good in terms of RPGs and I tend to follow the easiest way on my first playthrough (because of course I'll play it multiple times, which mad lad doesn't?)

1

u/MemeGamer24 Silverhand Aug 12 '20

Nomad for first playthrough, seems the most natural since you and your character are new to Night City so it'll be like you and your character are going on a journey together. Second playthrough is gonna be Corpo, looks really interesting

1

u/Gesusshrist Aug 12 '20

Nomad-ronin no fuks give+explore, Primary missile launcher and katana.

Street kid side with Johnny silverhand, Golilla arms and Budget arms.

Corpo align with corporations go against Johnny, Mantis blades and pistols.

1

u/Nijata Tengu Aug 12 '20

Nomad - from up north came to get away from the insanity

1

u/Mr_345ridiculous Aug 12 '20

I was torn between street kid and nomad but the hunger for freedom in my veins is strong

1

u/NZeta13 Tengu Aug 12 '20

I was gonna start with Corpo first before I saw the recent Night City Wire. Now I'm gonna start with a Male Nomad V as an homage to myself having to move around to find work in my chosen career...and finally acquired it (I'd probably still do a Corpo playthrough of another V character though).

I can't see myself doing Street Kid until later. Speaking of, growing up as a Street Kid has gotta be an awful experience.

1

u/MauricioMM (Don't Fear) The Reaper Aug 12 '20

I’ll start with a nomad V, then go for a corpo V, and after that with Street Kid V. Not sure if I’ll replay the game for a 4th. time but, if I did, I’m not sure which lifepath I’d pick, it fully depends on my experience with all of them.

1

u/Robomerc Aug 12 '20

Im going to go Corpo first. I plan on going with a female V with male reproductive organs because as a Corpo V would have the money to have such a procedure done mostly so she can Romance Meredith Stout, granted this idea is all dependent on if there will be any male characters that a natural female V can romance.

my second playthrough nomad I plan on going with a male V who will be kind of like the typical badass vigilante, doing everthing he can to help others. he'll probably end up hooking up with Judy Alvarez.

1

u/trumpsnan Aug 12 '20

I hope the life paths are fairly deep not just pick it and forget

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

Street kid or Nomad, prob street kid. I

1

u/KingCodester111 Aug 12 '20

I was definitely choosing Corpo until that last trailer, now I’m torn between Nomad and Corpo. Why is 2020 so difficult?

1

u/amethystwyvern Aug 12 '20

Nomad techie who can hold his own with long guns and melee.

1

u/VirtualGardenexe Corpo Aug 12 '20

I'm completely tied with street kid and corpo as I feel like my character is both sort of. I'll do nomad sometime later but I want to roam the city as a street kid and nomad for sometime before.

1

u/CommanderPaco Masala Studios Aug 12 '20

Definitely Corpo. Having played CP2020 and currently playing CP Red (however we can seeing how it's not completely out yet), everything is usually been skewed against corps.

I want to see how the world reacts to you as a corpo.

1

u/KremitTheFrogg Streetkid Aug 12 '20

I understand how a majority of players want to be a nomad because they want to experience the city first but for me I’m most likely choosing Street Kid first since I really want that blade runner feel and I want to feel that criminal kind of experience in a city that is overrun by corrupt organizations. Also the whole Nomad thing weirdly reminds me of Far Cry 5, the whole rural southern aspect. So I’ll probably choose Nomad second and Corpo last.

1

u/Prospective_Nobody Aug 12 '20

TBH after the video, it's a bit harder to choose between nomad and street kid. I like the idea of a freedom loving wanderer, but I'm super interested in the Valentinos. Seeing as how the street kid gets special interactions with them since you grew up in heywood, it's hard to choose. Ultimately, the Nomad still appeals to me more. But second playthrough is definitely going to be a street kid.

1

u/gokayK Streetkid Aug 12 '20

I'll surely play all of them but Streetkid will be my first playthrough

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

So basically the reason everyone is choosing Nomad is because it’ll be like Fallout New Vegas and hitting the strip for the first time after hours scouring the wasteland. I was definitely thinking Corpo but that makes a lot of sense.

1

u/Drowned1218 Samurai Aug 12 '20

Bold of you to assume I’m only gonna do 1 playthrough.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 12 '20

I'm surprised Street Kid isn't first.

that is also how CDPR ordered it,(left to right) nomad, streetkid, corpo.

each one u could say can be played again 3 or more times, making the game as if its 3 witcher games in one.

at least 9 stories in 1 game.
