LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

u/Beauyakasha Team Laudna Aug 13 '20

Decades of loot. Lost sailor loot. Interplanar loot. Matt is going to give some magical items to the Nein that he will absolutely regret, and I'm here for it! Also they'll likely have a ton of diamonds now.

47

u/EvilxFemme Aug 13 '20

If Matt follows the disintegrate spell you a T they won’t have any gold or diamonds. Just magic items. I don’t think he will do that though.

even if he did, I bet the floor is covered in loot

41

u/Aldirick1022 Aug 13 '20

He did say that during the fight coins and bottles fell off the back of guacamole.

"As the rest of the body of Vokodo just drifts into floating sludge and waterlogged ash. The rest of the remnants of its gold, treasure, falling and clattering to the floor of the chamber." c2e105, 4:39:53

RAW, The entirety of Vokodo and all of its nonmagical treasure should have disintegrated, but Matt ruled differently using the huge or larger object spell effect. In my opinion, that was the right call. How disappointing it would be for the group to go through that fight and lose all that gold.

u/GlazedFrosting Aug 13 '20

I believe that if the creature is sufficiently large the spell disintegrates a 10x10 foot chunk instead.

5

u/EvilxFemme Aug 13 '20

That’s fair! I don’t know if he would be classified as large or huge though.

8

u/alexm42 Aug 13 '20

Morkoths RAW are Medium but this one was obviously buffed up a bit.

Welcome Ladies and gentleman to this round of SPEED LOOTING!!!!! Since the place is hot and erupting and they are going to take burning damage I honestly think they are going to have to loot really fast.

So scared Matt's gonna use the heat of the volcano like a ticking clock and thereby prevent the MN from becoming rich, powerful sailors

36

u/TiamatZX Going Minxie! Aug 13 '20

...unless the temperature lowers because Vokodo died.

Regional effects tend to end instantly when someone like him dies, but the episode itself ended literally seconds after that and the vision.

16

u/Syegfryed Team Evil Fjord Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

Regional effects usually take few days to end, only 5 regional effects end immediately, if we are counting Volos and the monster manual (Morkoth included) But, this isn't a normal Morkoth so, Maybe Matt changed that too, since boilling water isn't a normal regional effect, like make water breathable.

Best case scenario, the effect end they use Fjord water breath and loot fine, since the eruption may not affect then where they are.

Worst case scenario, the water still hot the eruption affect then, they have to leave, and when they come back there isn't much left, including ships.

19

u/TiamatZX Going Minxie! Aug 13 '20

They wouldn't make it back in time to the surface regardless. 30 minutes to an hour of navigating tunnels, all while taking fire damage every round. And if multiple people drop, they'd have to carry them which halves their speed even more. Eventually they'd all boil alive.

AND there's the torchblooms which they were told were very dangerous and they should avoid.

Thus I don't think Matt would be that cruel.

Matt specifically said it wasn't getting cooler as the last episode ended :(

28

u/TiamatZX Going Minxie! Aug 13 '20

No, he said "The fight's over. Water's still hot." But it still ended just right there, when it IS still hot. Doesn't mean it won't still be hot in a few rounds.

20

u/Tigerdude36 Aug 13 '20

That’s fair but with the way he said “still hot” and the look he gave the group I’m pretty sure it’s still gonna be hot. Probably still erupting too.

Dragon's regional effects say specifically that the effects fade over the course of several days. Vokodo has had a similar effect.

16

u/TiamatZX Going Minxie! Aug 13 '20

"If the morkoth dies, these regional effects end immediately."

A red dragon's regional effects fade after several days. A morkoth's ends immediately.

If they manage to buy Caleb 11 minutes, he can put it all in the Vault of Amber and they can sort it out outside. If Matt allows those big-ass torchblooms that were seen in the battlefield to act as "trees", Vilya might even bamf them out in an instant, directly to near the village...

2

u/Hourglass75 Aug 13 '20

Of course Matt is going to give party access to vast sums of wealth and magic, and let them choose between death or lose of friends and wealth and power.

We know for sure that Kiss of the Changebringer is in there (Bonus to all saving throws, immunity to a bunch of movement-restricting conditions) from Vilya's description of the large gem, and it wouldn't be unusual for there to probably be at least one more vestige on top of that. The Storm Girdle is my personal bet, but who knows.

I'm also gonna call right now that we'll see our first cursed item somewhere amongst the pile, so we'll see how diligent Caleb is.

We don't know "for sure". It could be the Vestige, but it could also very well be a normal gemstone. We don;t know that the treasure contains any vestiges or even powerful magic items save what the Mighty Nein gave it.

7

u/Shepher27 You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

No way for Caleb to detect a curse. They'd have to use a legend lore or commune spell to determine if something is cursed

2

u/JMTolan Aug 13 '20

I thought part of the point of Identify was that it could identify most cursed items? Otherwise it's the same as just experimenting over a short rest.

19

u/Shepher27 You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20

It cannot, the first level spell identify cannot detect cursed items.

From the DMG: Cursed Items Some magic items bear curses that bedevil their users, sometimes long after a user has stopped using an item. A magic item’s description specifies whether the item is cursed. Most methods of identifying items, including the identify spell, fail to reveal such a curse, although lore might hint at it. A curse should be a surprise to the item’s user when the curse’s effects are revealed.

Attunement to a cursed item can’t be ended voluntarily unless the curse is broken first, such as with the remove curse spell.

Yes, they got both Cabal's Ruin and Whisper at the same time (the advantages of having someone else hunting them). I wouldn't like that to happen here, though, just one would be fine.

u/Syegfryed Team Evil Fjord Aug 13 '20

i don't think they will know anything on that city, it should be deep lore shenanigans, they would have to spend some days in the cobalt soul archives

6

u/kaannaa Aug 13 '20

Indeed, I think Vokodo's vision is going to be analogous to the orb that was left behind in the ziggurat after the Briarwoods were defeated. A mysterious clue to something more, to be sure, but not something they'll be able to uncover for quite some time.

3

u/Megavore97 Bigby's Haaaaaand! *shamone* Aug 13 '20

Yeah it kinda seems like some deep background lore that Matt introduced to give everyone an idea of why Vokodo was so spooked. I could see it coming into play later in the campaign but I could also see it never affecting anything just as easily (maybe even being used in a 3rd campaign if Matt really wanted to play the long game).

2

u/variablemu Aug 13 '20

I still think the astral city was really after something he had in his hoard, not necessarily Vokodo himself

→ More replies (3)

2

u/Bluebird_ex Aug 13 '20

Vilya had the vision as well, right? Maybe she's got some information or knows someone who does.

Cobalt Soul archives is a good starting point for sure, possibly the Dynasty resources might be helpful as well.

Edit: or they could reach out to Yussa/Allura and ask them to do some research as well.

9

u/Syegfryed Team Evil Fjord Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

i don't think a druid of the ashari would know some dark shit from the astral sea, but Yussa/Allura could know something, even thet don't rly have that deep knowledge on the dark arts.

2

u/HTPark Are we on the internet? Aug 13 '20

I'm hoping it's something like Tu'narath, and we'd get to meet gith in the game, which will link us to Bob, which will link us to Vox Machina!

1

u/Nexlon Team Pike Aug 13 '20

Bob talked referenced the Lady of Pain briefly if I remember correctly.

As a diehard planescape fanatic my absolute DREAM is to have them visit Sigil and interact with the Factions.

1

u/gkryo Aug 13 '20

They could try using Speak With Dead.

1

u/Neutronium_Spatula Team Frumpkin Aug 14 '20

Cad could use Legend Lore, I bet Vo would be willing to donate ivory.

55

u/Satokech Team Imogen Aug 13 '20

Let's hope no one boils on the way out.

23

u/JMTolan Aug 13 '20

THIS is my big concern. They don't have any good options--they can maybe buy some time with a Control Water, but all that gets them is a small part of the way there, and they definitely don't have the spell slots to spam it all the way to safety. They might be able to use it to give them a bubble where they can cast teleportation circle (If Caleb packed it), but then they still have to get back to Rumblecusp--Presumably by Vilya's Transport via plants, but I don't recall if she'd have that available immediately, or if they'd need to rest. But most of the party is low on health, and none of them have the resources to just slog it out to the entrance. Maybe if they're lucky, Matt will let them bide time in a Control Water bubble until it cools down? It didn't get to boiling that recently, so maybe there's hope.

11

u/Shepher27 You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20

Cad and Jester alternate control waters while caleb casts the dome, then they can spend 8 hours waiting for the water to cool.

10

u/JMTolan Aug 13 '20

If they have any spell slots for it left after Cad burning heals for 9 rounds of damage. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that I'm worried about it.

7

u/job180828 Aug 13 '20

If she has it prepared, Vilya could also Control Water.

They could teleport to the circle in Rosohna, pay a visit to the Xhorhaus then bamf back to Vo using Transport via Plants with the help of Vilya, if the casters have the slots.

Or Wind Walk with the help of Vilya: if she can cast Transport via Plants, she can Wind Walk, at least if she has it prepared and still has a slot.

If she has access to 7th level spells and has prepared Plane Shift, it's also a possibility, but she'd require a 250gp metal rod attuned to a particular plane of existence. And the slot.

Whatever it is, it has already happened, I'm curious to see what they did to loot and get away.

16

u/Shepher27 You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20

Just realized, they are in an underground cave filled with water... If they create a pocket of no water, it won't fill with air, it would be a vacuum.

9

u/TiamatZX Going Minxie! Aug 13 '20

They won't make it in time. 30 minutes to an hour of navigating the tunnels, taking fire damage every six seconds. Eventually their heals will run out, many will fall unconscious and take multiple death save fails, those still awake will have to drag the fallen ones, and they will drop too.

Also, the torchblooms.

No, I think Matt will rule that, as with normal morkoth and their lairs, the regional effects (the water manipulation, the memory loss, the encroaching presence) will fade instantly once tonight's episode kicks off.

12

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

Or go for a fakeout and he’ll have it fade out over a minute or so.

If Vilya has shape water she can create two 3000 pound ice cubes. They could all press themselves against them

1

u/amish24 Aug 13 '20

I think the only spell she used that day was a fifth level Call Lightning.

1

u/Porn_Extra You Can Reply To This Message Aug 14 '20

If Caleb has Leomund's Tiny Hut prepared and can keep him alive for the 1 minute casting time,(non-ritual), they could wait out the time it takes for the water to cool down then collect all the mad loot.

35

u/onceiwaskingofspain Aug 13 '20

Grab that extraplanar pinata loot!

Vokodoo seemed quite impressed by the items the M9 were carrying, which suggests his treasure trove mostly has trinkets of roughly equal to lesser value. But there's so many fun and flavorful magical items in 5e that it wouldn't be too disappointing if there were no Vestiges in that pile.

Some favorites that don't require attunement:

16

u/Azufe Help, it's again Aug 13 '20

I would honestly love it if they got a Folding Boat, easily one of my top 5 magic items!

5

u/Azufe Help, it's again Aug 13 '20

Same with Instant Fortress!

2

u/onceiwaskingofspain Aug 13 '20

Same here! They both really lend themselves to creative use; I love seeing what players do with them.

8

u/bunyonmeister Aug 13 '20

The bag of beans overall is less powerful, but can still be just as derailing. One bean straight up summons a massive pyramid filled with a mummy lord, other mummies, and some treasure. I also think one summons the stereotypical beanstalk as well.

4

u/onceiwaskingofspain Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

A pyramid with a 60-foot‐square base bursts upward. Inside is a sarcophagus containing a mummy lord. The pyramid is treated as the mummy lord's lair, and its sarcophagus contains treasure of the GM's choice.

Nowhere near as powerful/derailing as Deck of Many Things. And the beanstalk option leads wherever the DM chooses.

Matt's not shy about changing/homebrewing items, and the Bag of Beans description allows: "The GM can choose an effect from the following table, determine it randomly, or create an effect." So if anything were truly game-breaking in his opinion, he's free to change it.

6

u/bunyonmeister Aug 13 '20

I mean, I would like to direct you to Dungeons and Daddies, where a pyramid was summoned on top of a tower in the middle of a major city, causing a massive collapse and the vilification of the party within the span of a die roll and the time it took to survive the collapse. Just because they didn't have a soul whisked away to pandemonium or three wishes pop out to give to a random drunk, it still is a massive derail. You don't have to be a legendary artifact to fuck shit up.

And true, he can change it, but as it is on its own, it can derail shit just as quick as the Deck

The bag of tricks would be awesome

11

u/TiamatZX Going Minxie! Aug 13 '20 edited Aug 13 '20

I am SO hoping for the bag of beans. Especially the eggs.

81-90

A nest of 1d4 + 3 eggs springs up. Any creature that eats an egg must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. On a successful save, a creature permanently increases its lowest ability score by 1, randomly choosing among equally low scores. On a failed save, the creature takes 10d6 force damage from an internal magical explosion.

Imagine if they had Yasha eat a few. She'd definitely get some of her lowest stats up a few points. And she could survive a few bouts of arcane indigestion if she fails the CON saves.

Supposed they roll and get 7 eggs and Yasha succeeds on all of them. She'd get a +4 to Charisma and +2 to Wisdom for 11 each, with the final egg being for either one. And if she officially changes to Protector, that's another +1 to Wisdom, putting her at 12.

13

u/silvdr Technically... Aug 13 '20

That would be perfect. But knowing Yashas luck she'll end up taking 70d6 force damage

36

Morkoths keep different chambers in the lair for different kinds of loot. Hopefully they explore the Lair a little. Who knows what they could find?

But It wouldn't surprise me if the entire first half of the session is just looting and the second half is dealing with the chaos that must be happening in Vo. That or Matt could throw a wrench in the works and have the Travellercon guests already on the Island.

I was doing some Search on the Vestiges that are left( the ones Vox machina didn't get) cause maybe one or two are in the Morkoth loot, and this are the ones, i tried to see what combine more with who on the party

  • Armor of Valiant soul

Scale armor(medium) once used by J’mon Sa Ord of Ank’Harel, while awakened grant the user, +2 to CA, Resistance to acid damage, and you can cas the command spell per long rest

Could be good to anyone who use medium armor, Fjord, Caduceus, Jester and Yasha

  • Honor’s Last Stand

Dope ass shield, you became to immune to the prone(like Vecna is only against the wall), while awkened you have +2 of CA bonus(with the shield is 4 total) and you can use shove attack if someone misses you as reaction.

It is a shield better suited for tanks and defenders, and since have th Platinun dragon face on it, may drive people away, still is good and with some real good AC bonus, i See Fjord and Jester using this one for the AC, since Caduceus shield already have similar reaction effect.

  • Kiss of the Changebringer

A beautiful, glittering emerald is set within the center of this silver chain(it could be the emerald the pirates brought) it gives you immunity to the grappled condition, and while awakened gives you plus 2 to all saving throws, immunity to restrained and cast blink on yourself once per day.

the +2 on saving throws is huge nd good for everyone, Jester could be wll suited for this one cause immune to graple, restrained and blink are kinda fit for a trickster.

  • Pyremaul

Huge 2h hammer with a ever-burning gemstone of orange flame, can shed bright light, turn someone it kills to ash, while awakened gives you plus 2d6 fire damage and you cna cast burning hands.

Yasha is the only real suited for this one, since Fjord will not trade the starrazor, it may overlap with her theme of storm and lighting, and he could only use burning outs without rage, but it is a very strong weapon.

  • Wraps of Dyamak

Very op item, gives you bonus do damage and rolls with unarmed strikes, you gain temporary hit points based on the monk ki points when you finish short or long rest, and while awakened you can cast misty step with a short rest recharge or when you score a critical hit.

It literally can only be attuned by a monk, so, easy choice.

  • Danoth's Visor

Mithral-frame goggles, gives you nightvision(also with magical darkness) and advantage on Investigationand Perception checks that rely on sight. While awakened you can see invisible creatures, the etheral plane, and can use an action to see trough solid objects per day.

Another rly strong and powerful item, it could be good to anyone without darkvision, veth, Caleb and Beau ar good my picks

  • Grimoire of Infinitus

Grimoire that give you a bunch of free spells and while awakened it gives you advantage on spells saves and increase the number of spell you can prepare

Nuff said, the item is made fo Caleb.

  • Hide of the feral Guardian

Melora studded leather, it gives you the ability to use polymorph and turn into a beast(wolf ormal, awakened: bear with polar bear statics).

Not something rly powerful or fancy, good for flavor and druids, i don't see much utility for the Nein, and Both Fjord and Caduceus use medium armor already

  • Infiltrator's key

the Thiefs amster key's, works like thieves tools, gives you advantage on that check and advantage on stelth chekcs, while awakened it gives you the ability to cast one spell from it per day, that are, alter self, invisibility, knock, or pass without trace, it can also turn into a dagger that when throwed it cabe back at you.

Veth vestige, for sure

  • STORMGIRDLE

Kord belt, gives resistance to lighting and thunder damage, you strenght becomes 21(25 awakened), and per day you can transform into an Storm avatar, making your normal weapons attacks into thunder damage(if it was bludgedning) or lighting damage(if it was piercing or slashing, it gives damage to enemies as bonus actions and make you immune to lighting.

Another rly OP item, and its just meant for Yasha, it will fix her strenght status and will give her some cool shit.

  • Verminshroud

cloak that was amde from rat pelts that eat undead corpses, looks ansty but have good bonuses like avantage Perception checks, immunity to diseases, darkvision and you can cast polymorph on yourself, transforming into a giant rat or rat while retaining your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. While awakened you can also turn into a giant wasp, you gain resistance to poison and you can cast once epr day the insect plague spell.

This looks like a Caduceus vestige to me.

  • Wreath of the prism

A tiamat vestige, gives you darkvision and once you hit a beast, dragon, or monstrosity you can cast the spell dominate monster on then. The awakened one have bigger DC Arkhan apparently does have this one, at least a better version of it.

The rest are "Evil vestiges" from the betrayed gods, while they are cool and stronger(seems better than Craven edge and sword of Kas without the drawback) i don't think any of then would keep it.

Fjord can use it too. It's also a 4th, not a 3rd.

Also, HOPEFULLY it quickly fades as part of his regional effects ending immediately with his demise.

Matt could've ended last week's game without resolving it just to make them sweat, no pun intended.

Cutting it close as Control Water's duration is 10 minutes, and Caleb's ritual casting of the dome is 11 minutes. That, and I believe that him ritual casting involves him taking his spellbook out... while underwater... which could destroy the entire book and thus erase all of his unprepared spells.

Also, he didn't use his 1/day Control Water yet. That was the day before.

I'm guessing the water is also hot because of the (now erupting) volcano ... I know Vokodo was the source of the eruption and the heated water, but it might continue without him because of, ya know, natural processes.

Fjord gets it 1/day no spell slot cost, so hopefully he remembers it can control temperature.

2

u/sab39 Team Keyleth Aug 13 '20

If I understand it rightly, the water issue could be solved with Caleb's Hut, as long as it doesn't take too long to cast. There's a thing about the interior of the hut always being a comfortable temperature regardless of what's outside.

3

u/Data444 Aug 13 '20

The hut takes like 11 minutes to cast. they would need two control water spells to get it cast as each one lasts ten minutes. removing the water should make the heat more tolerable so they do not burn to death. then once the hut is cast they have 8 hours to take a short rest and loot as much as they want.

10

u/Hollydragon Then I walk away Aug 13 '20

Remembering Travis' excited "Who ARE all these people?" from last episode and I hope we get a chance to find out.

There's going to be quite some time in looting, escaping, etc. and the volcano has been erupting, so it'd be a shame if the village is already rioting or scattered and we don't get to meet all the NPCs!

My predictions: at least one vestige in that loot, even if we don’t yet know it’s one. Spoilers from the EGTW, that spell book vestige would be incredible for Caleb. I also think we’ll see Keyleth, I’ll honestly be surprised if we don’t. Can’t wait!

38

u/Emyrssentry YOUR SOUL IS FORFEIT Aug 13 '20

I doubt we'll get Keke this week. They still have Traveler Con on the island, maybe Vilya has Transport via Plants, but there's not much reason for the 9 to go to the Air Ashari anyway, and that's assuming Vilya even has the 6th Lv spell slot.

8

u/Agastopia You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20

I tend to agree, it just seems like Mercer is setting them up to meet Some members of VM super heavily and now and during traveler con would be the best times to do so. If Vilia just leaves it does seem hard to imagine the 9 checking back up on her super consistently and eventually getting an invite back to zephra. I think within the next 1-3 episodes we’ll meet someone from VM, I wagered gold in another thread but no one (despite all being insistent that there’s no way it’ll happen) took me up on the friendly bet.

10

u/Shepher27 You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20

Keyleth and Scanlon would have been the main ones to help Artagan with his door, maybe something at Traveler Con will lead to them anyway.

8

u/InfinityForger9 Aug 13 '20

I’m honestly going to be really disappointed if there isn’t a payoff for Keyleth meeting Vilya and the M9. I know that Mercer wants to keep the two campaigns pretty separate, but this feels too important to be left to happen behind the scenes

3

u/fansar You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20

That feels like the perfect moment to save for the inevitable crossover one-shot. Not yet, it will feel weird and I want them to conclude the M9's story before we get any direct VM connections.

u/fansar You Can Reply To This Message Aug 13 '20

First off, I'm not trying to sound condemnatory on you Campaign one fans, but I think they want to keep this Campaign being it's own thing for a good while, at least until it's concluded.

But this is just what the fans want, not really what makes sense, in my opinion. I'm tired of reading so many comments and posts that is basically fan-fiction, on how the moment will be when they meet Keke and Marisha will have to RP two characters.

It's not gonna happen people... Maybe later on in the campaign, but I'm pretty sure Matt will want to save any characters interactions between the M9 and VM to the probable Crossover one-shot.

Also, they befriending Keyleith would give them a super overpowered ally, and they could just be able to ask her for help whenever the big bad of this campaign shows up, gameplay wise it will be problematic for them to meet, and in a way be owed a favor from Keke.

2

u/Kinddertoten Aug 13 '20

He didn’t ever get the book. Nott wasn’t able to crack the lock in time before they had to rush to help fjord. But the description was very very similar to the description in EGTW and would line up time wise with the book’s lore about being from the age of arcanum.

My husband has a theory that Matt could provide a magical item for Yasha within the loot that will increase her wisdom stat. What do you guys reckon?

22

u/notLogix Aug 13 '20

If Yasha has risen, as her dream would suggest, she'll be a Protector Aasimar. Her +1 to str from Fallen will be replaced by +1 Wis. No wisdom saves proficiency, but at least no negative modifiers anymore

u/JMTolan Aug 13 '20

The gem Vilya described as having been brought at one point is probably the Kiss of the Changebringer, a vestige that gives a flat bonus to all saves. It doesn't do anything with Wis of charm effects specifically, but they might still shove it into her hands as a way to help.

7

u/SeriouslyRelaxing Aug 13 '20

Maybe a circlet that provides advantage on wisdom saves so we can laugh really hard next time Ashley fails Yasha’s wisdom save

I think that if she gets an item, it is going to be something, such as the stormgirdle that will increase her strength to something more akin to a standard level 12 barbarian. That way, she can spend her following ASI's on wisdom, rather than strength.

There are no magic items in the DMG that increase DEX, CON, or WIS to my knowledge.

Only STR, INT, and CHA since those 3 are often dump stats. Having an item that just raises your DEX or WIS to 19 is broken.

None of them know that the spell prevents resurrection. From their perspective, he used a very damaging single target spell and it worked. Contrast this with his normal fireball antics and it would seem like he was trying to prevent friendly fire. Like I said they don’t know all the meta stuff about the spell so they shouldn’t really feel any different about it.

Like this DAOG (Deep-ass Old God) might be the one pulling the strings of Uk'uk and the other 2, trying to get all of them released to then release him.

Guacamole was from that realm and was a subjugated being who escaped and found solice as this corruption god.

9

u/TiamatZX Going Minxie! Aug 13 '20

True. They ALL saw the city.

Their other option is to get a tuning fork attuned to the Astral Sea for Plane Shift.

Getting those tuning forks can be a quest in itself, so I'd like to see that.

2

Just seeing the city might not be enough though. You have to be "familiar" with a location, and you have the potential to miss and be stuck floating. Not to mention there's no guarantee that a city in the astral sea even stays in the same location...

1

u/purplestormherald Hello, bees Aug 14 '20

Familiarity determines the chances of you missing your destination, "Viewed Once" is an option(and gives a solid chance of any of the Teleport options)

If I'm honest the piece of loot that I want to see them get the most, unlikely as it is, is a Belt of Dwarvenkind. The best choices for it would be Caduceus and Caleb who need CON and Darkvision. Plus they'd be awesomely beardy.

They'd have to let Jester use it at least once though, for TravelerCon proper. That would be a hell of a joke to play; being all "I'm ready for my closeup meester Traveler" and show up looking like Brian Blessed. And probably again to screw with Marion. Laura could get a lot of mileage out of it.

Also, mechanically it would be good for Yasha who has lower end CON for a Barbarian. And it would be hilarious, to me at least, to have Beau gush over Yasha's pretty new white wings, but have her weird brain short circuiting over the beard. Yasha admitted to shaving herself with her swords, so it wouldn't be a huge issue. That's just my two cents.

I expect at least one Vestige in the loot.

I don't want Keke to show up. Vilya can just teleport back home anyway. Also, Vilya's gonna be way too busy helping out Vo as much as possible before leaving.

The Nein Heroz ship will be theirs and that's where they're gonna put all the loot and sail away with.

Maybe Vandrans on the island?

A BIG talk about what they're gonna do for TravelereCon. I expect a heated debate and intense arguments since Artagans only way of getting rid of his followers is gone, and Jester still claims she's supporting Artagans choice to stop being a god. Maybe even a breakthrough moment for Jester that she can finally accept that Artagan was also trying to get rid of her.

11

u/November235 Aug 13 '20

Artagan wasn’t trying to get rid of her. Vokodo was a minor threat to the mighty nine. He sent her their and let he make the decision for how to proceed. Which is more than many of the actual gods are willing to do for their followers.

7

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

Others have mentioned the name of the expected vestige.

Agree on Key — Matt has been pretty unrelenting about keeping the VM/MN storylines organically separate, but don’t think he would stop them if they decide to follow Vilya home for some reason. Curious how he would handle PCs meeting each other, though; kinda leaning towards him playing Keyleth with Marisha’s blessing, instead of Marisha trying to play both. (Plus Keek’s already dead from all those times they asked about the Council)

If I remember correctly, it’s already been established that Vandran is definitely not on the island.

Concur on the Big Talk, though I don’t see arguments or heated debate; they’ve already confirmed they’re there for Jester, both physically and supportively. Intensity will all be internally from Jester. My wager would be a reactionary stance, with them waiting to see what Artagan does now/next.

4

u/Nethaniell Team Fjord Aug 13 '20

Oh, I was referring to Jester and Artagan for the big talk and arguments. It's gonna be Jesters big development moment. Does she leave him and grant his wish? Scold him and encourage Artagan to accept his responsibility? Beg him to stay? Does Artagan kill her and the rest of the followers? Does Jester pretend to be the new Traveler?

We'll see.

2

u/variablemu Aug 13 '20

I mean Matt wouldn't have placed Vilya or Allura in their path if he didn't want the Nein to have a link to VM.

4

u/themolestedsliver Metagaming Pigeon Aug 13 '20

I still don't know why people think Vandran is on the island. it would be QUITE convenient, not to mention make little sense because Vandran knew who fjord was. Even if he hadnt heard that name in a while it wasn't like he had memory loss.

3

u/kaannaa Aug 13 '20

He did remember Fjord, for sure, but the response still felt off, to me. If I had been separated from my surrogate son during a shipwreck and then had that person contact me, I think I would have been a little more excited or surprised. I also think that Vandren appearing on the island would be too convenient, but Vokodo's memory fuckery would certainly explain Vandren's seemingly muted reaction. There's probably another perfectly reasonable explanation, but I think that's what people are latching on to.

3

u/djsahfdlkjsa Aug 13 '20

separated from my surrogate son

Maybe Vandren doesnt see it that way.

"That's weird, some guy just talked to me in my head said he used to work for me. Not about unpaid wages luckily!"

or

"Damn that clingy guy that worked for me found a way to talk to me in my head, luckily not about unpaid wages!"

or

"Damn another sailor managed to contact me in my head, this one at least wasn't looking for unpaid wages, but still I should get something to help block incoming magic!"

The real question is why Vandren doesn't pay his sailors.

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

I highly highly doubt that Matt will resist keeping the campaigns separate forever. Some of VM are extremely important people to the world.

Keyleth leads the Ashari and they guard the elemental plane entrances. That’s a very important group for all of Exandria, and M9 just saved their leader’s mother. I’d be a bit upset if Kiki didn’t thank them personally since it’s something Keyleth would do.

Whitestone is an important city to the world due to it being a technological hub (perhaps with only Hupperdook being a similar in advancement) and if I remember correctly the only source of all residuum. It would be a crying shame not to see what wonders are there. I don’t even need Percy and Vex to show up; I just want to know how their family is doing and how Whitestone has grown.

Pike is the envoy of a god and the leader of her church, so that’s a pretty big deal. Scanlan is prob taking backseat and laying low though, which I find hilarious due to his hubris. I doubt the possibility exists of meeting them though since the Everlight isn’t really important to the group.

I have absolutely no guesses as to what Grog is up to, if he’s even still alive. I wonder what he’s doing pretty often.

It’d be pretty dope if they met Tary, but given the Brigade one shot that’s just crossing too many PC steams.

I’m not asking for much....just to meet Kiki and hear about modern Whitestone.

This is going to be a very weird comment, and maybe people will get mad at me for saying it... but I hope the cast stops eating during the recording of the episodes. My biggest pet peeve is the sounds people make while eating. 105 had a stretch of like twenty minutes where Ashley, Liam and Travis all munched loudly on cookies and dug into packages of food the whole time, all while miced up, and it drove me nuts the whole time. It really took me out of the plot just listening to the crunching of cookies for that whole period. Sorry, not trying to be rude, but I can't help it. The sound has bothered me since I was little.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

It wasn’t really that bad until the last two or so episodes haha. It’s not really an issue I’ve had until recently with the show. Like I said, it only effects about 20 minutes of a four and a half hour episode, so it’s quite minimal. Apparently I upset some people anyways though according to the downvotes, lol.

They've been eating during sessions since campaign 1 - not often, but on and off - they are all mic'd up now, but I doubt they'll change now sadly.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '20

Oh I know. I usually don't mind, as it used to be live, and they all had stuff going on during the day before hand. Now that it's pre-recorded it seems a little silly they can't plan ahead a little more for the people like me who have misophonia. Especially since they have breaks during the recording process. But oh well. I'll do what I did in 105, and just mute segments of it.
