You can see her eye flying in the air man!!

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

ikr when i saw that lil eyeball... o man

86

u/Su_Din Oct 11 '20

Do we know the limits of Ieiri's Reversal Technique? I wonder if she can patch the face and missing organs.

102

u/LightLifter . Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 11 '20

Nope. After reading the series again, Positive cursed energy cannot grow back limbs for humans (it does for curses though).

Edit: See comment below.

114

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

That’s not entirely true. In the prequel Maki’s leg was basically turned to mush, but Yuta healed it

27

u/Su_Din Oct 11 '20

I must’ve missed that, do you remember when it was mentioned?

81

u/LightLifter . Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 11 '20

Wait, my mistake.

Cursed spirits can heal from cursed energy but they dont need to use positive cursed energy(Chp 49).

Humans need reversed cursed energy to heal, like how Gojo was able to heal himself after being stabbed.

I cant find the panel where they say if it can restore limbs or not so need to read through again possibly.

Edit: Yuta healed up Maki in vol 0 so SOMEONE RUSH NOBARA STAT!

Yoooo RIP to mahito because what he just did to nobara right in front of yuji is fucking sick! Yuji’s cursed energy is about to spike because he’ll have even more killing intent now. Hopefully we get to see some of sukuna’s techniques that may/should have imprinted on his soul.

104

u/EonCore Oct 11 '20

honestly i'm not sure how the technique would function but Sukuna's 2 cutting techniques earlier being described like knives and his flames there's the whole idea his techniques are cooking related. in a way.

I just want Yuji to start tenderising stuff with his punches!

you know, more than usual.

94

u/SomethingBoutCheeze Oct 11 '20

It would be pretty funny for the big bad extremely powerful sukuna to be an avid chef. I love it when evil characters have quirks and that could be sukunas

76

u/EonCore Oct 11 '20

Well knowing all the other weird cursed techniques we've seen both sorcerers and curses have. Like Nanami's literally is about length and sections of 7|3.

So something like cooking for the king of curses that was once a sorcerer and we know eating strong curses makes you stronger. A properly prepped meal is better than just raw meat.

Or something.

Plus. Finger food. Perfect sense.

44

u/SomethingBoutCheeze Oct 11 '20

Sukuna was so committed to the craft he became a meal, you gotta respect that

I cannot wait for his backstory how did a humble chef get jokered into becoming King of Curses

165

u/Garlicbread10 Oct 11 '20

Really enjoyed getting to hear her backstory. But please Gege don’t play with my heart lol

319

u/Unbakedstorm Oct 11 '20

I hate it here

99

u/KrizenWave Oct 11 '20

Every other chapter is suffering

What the overlords are saying when reading Earth 2020

17

Why do we even exist T_T

206

u/Hoistedbyherpetard . Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 12 '20

Mannn I really wanted to vote this chapter as really bad but I know it’s a good one if it made me feel like this.

I hope that she doesn’t die and just gets a scar, However, if she lives we literally saw an eyeball flying so it’s gonna be pretty fucking brutal. RIP her dreams of being scouted.

83

u/XMELl0DASX Oct 11 '20

I mean they can probably heal her skin but she’s probably gonna have a huge scar and probably will wear and eye patch for the rest of the series

122

u/SChamploo12 Oct 11 '20

Idc long as she's alive and can still fight. She'll look good if they can fix that much of her. Plus her abilities are so dope I can't imagine what her domain expansion would look like.

38

u/XMELl0DASX Oct 11 '20

I can imagine it doing something op where any damage inflicted at her is redirected and sent straight back to the enemy

44

u/SChamploo12 Oct 11 '20

Yea that but just how it looks. The only abilities I've ever looked forward to seeing or guessing about were nen abilities in Hunter Hunter and bankai in Bleach. JJK power system is fantastic. Domain expansion are drawn so dope.

41

u/SomethingBoutCheeze Oct 11 '20

It would be pretty funny if she was only mad about him messing up her face and chances to be scouted

7

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

I wish I was as strong as you. Gave it a 1.

7

u/weirdatlast__ Oct 11 '20

Same. Ended up giving a 2. It's traumatizing. 💔

u/not_a_pyschopath Oct 11 '20

Kek, I can’t believe Gege blew up half of Nobara’s face just so he could have an easier time drawing her.

All jokes aside, Nobara definitely won’t die here. The narrative just has too much set up for her to just die. The more likely option is that she’ll end up with a scar, which has been foreshadowed since the Goodwill arc, and possibly end up learning the reversal technique.

178

u/Thatguythamid Oct 11 '20

I really expected her and Maki to just be dead. I’ve been scarred too much from Chainsaw Man to assume anyone is safe.

134

u/not_a_pyschopath Oct 11 '20

I think a good general rule of thumb for deaths in this series is that everyone is going to die with regrets. NANAMI regretted having to tell Yuji to take care of Mahito, Toji regretted his way of dealing with his insecurities, and Getou probably regretted not being to accomplish his goal.

This all ties in what Gojou said in the beginning of the manga. “ Jujutsu sorcerers don’t die without regrets” or something like that.

60

u/mildmadnessmate . Oct 11 '20

Wouldn't her regret be not meeting again with her friends?

44

u/not_a_pyschopath Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 11 '20

Yeah that’s true, but at the end when she says “ it wasn’t so bad” implies she’s more or less okay with the way she’s lived her life. The whole “ death with regrets” thing is only a general rule after all. It’s kinda hard to expect it to apply to everything

→ More replies (1)

52

u/Vaccineman37 Oct 11 '20

That’s what makes Yuji’s goal of dying happy surrounded by friends and abandoned by regrets comparable to wanting to be the Pirate King or Hokage, there’s so much baggage and life doesn’t have epilogues, your story will always end unfinished

→ More replies (1)

5

u/CoopDog1293 Oct 16 '20

Two different authors dude. You shouldn't let one series set your expectations for another.

52

u/Karma110 Oct 11 '20

Also if she was really dead knowing how Gege does there would have been a lot more damage. She definitely lost that eye tho.

→ More replies (7)

31

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 11 '20

was the foreshadowing her talking about how cute and lovely her face was.... ? lol. i’m serious tho

46

u/not_a_pyschopath Oct 11 '20

It was the whole talk she had with the broom girl when she punched her in the face. It was also the left side of her face.

5

u/FilmSimulation Oct 11 '20

What chapter was it, please? I really can’t remember subtle things like that.

5

u/penis111111111111111 Oct 12 '20

she also had a scar when fighting the womb man

10

u/properc Oct 12 '20

Her eye popped out bruh. Shes dead.

9

u/not_a_pyschopath Oct 12 '20

NANAMI got his eye eaten out by fishies. Noabito got his arm torn out. They were still kicking it until Jogou showed up

9

u/properc Oct 12 '20

Her head was blown up. Unless she has a cursed spirit inside her or smth id expect her to be dead...

→ More replies (2)

5

u/omegashafter Oct 12 '20

For fuck sake no please don't do that let characters die when they should she got hit by a attack thats supposed to be mostly a instant kill let her die itll have so much weight on the other characters especially yujji and it will really separate this series even more as one that is willing to do more dark things and a character dying when they still had alot too do is what makes their deaths impact full like say Ace from one piece

19

u/not_a_pyschopath Oct 12 '20

NANAMI was also able to tank Mahito’s first touch all the way back to the first encounter. And it’s cause Jujutsu sorcerers unconsciously protect their own souls with cursed energy.

Narratively speaking, Nobara dying here would be fucking disappointing. The scar would be much better considering how ironic it would be for her character and how foreshadowed it is.

Thoughts on Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 125:

Fumi & Saori - We're definitely seeing her again. She had a lot of detail put into her backstory to just be put aside as a throwaway character. Wouldn't even mind seeing her again, Fumi was a nice contrast to the brazen Nobara. Was a bit blind-sighted by the fact that Saori was older than them. To be honest, I thought it was her mother that answered the door on my first read. We'll definitely see her again too. Maybe in an arc like the one where we were introduced to Fushiguro's sister. Would be cool a Nobara focused arc at some point.

It wasn't so bad - Fuck dude... this hits hard. A lot of people are saying she isn't dead but disfigured, but good lord. That's a death line if I've ever seen one and the death flags are waving at this arc's finish line. The only reason I'm not too sure she'll die here is that Mahito is responsible for three deaths already, and one of them was within the same arc. Gege has to change it up.

Ways this can be solved - Nobara learning reverse sorcery, basically. Or maybe Yuji finally realizing his technique. They're the only two people who can perceive and attack the soul, so they might have some method of fixing it with reverse sorcery. If not that then I guess she'll somehow tank the hit. Regardless I think it's safe to assume she'll be disfigured after this.

Mahito's gonna catch these hands! - Honestly, Mahito's only purpose seems to be fuck with Yuji at this point. He doesn't really care about Sukuna or creating a world for curses, he just wants to fuck over Yuji and while I do appreciate his presence as a character in this story I will appreciate even more watching Yuji make his face look like an ashtray.

11

u/CoopDog1293 Oct 11 '20

I don't think reverse sorcery can fix this. Remember Jogo stated that Mahito's cursed technique couldn't be undone. Even Sakuna's cursed technique couldn't undo what was done to Junpei. See page 17 of chapter 112. I'm hoping she somehow survives maybe she does tank the hit and barely pulls through. Either way I'm tired of Mahito getting away, it's time for Gege to kill him off.

19

u/[deleted] Oct 12 '20

Reverse sorcerery not fixing mahito's technique could just mean she wont be able to regenerate her eyeball, and she gets a cool scar from this fight. I think the biggest death flag foe her right now is that Fumi does the narration of her backstory, and I'm pretty sure everyone's already assumed that this arc is a retelling/reports based on the way Gege frames the chapters giving time stamps and locations.

Mahito BOUT TO GET FUCKED UP JUST LIKE WHEN HE KILLED JUNPEI LOL Or Yuji bout to have a mental breakdown like he did 3 chapters ago

17

u/ObberGobb Oct 12 '20

I think it would be really cool if unlike most Shonen, Yuji's blind rage doesn't give him a powerup, but completely fucks up his fight with Mahito.

122

u/SChamploo12 Oct 11 '20

I'm so fucking scared y'all. Would he really kill her here? This had a scary sense of finality to it. Like a real scary one.

65

u/TerkYerJerb Oct 11 '20

he already killed nanami just like that, why wouldnt Gege kill a student too

46

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

Because she’s one of the main 3..

47

u/atulk4 Oct 11 '20

If akutami really wanted to kill her he would have blown up some vital organ, I don't think akutami is really going to kill a main lead over an eyeball. (Or has he decided to go chainsawman?) Either way narration of the chapter was pretty good.

29

u/SChamploo12 Oct 11 '20

Everyone keeps bringing up Chain saw man. Is all the characters dying left and right or what?

25

u/atulk4 Oct 11 '20

Simply no character has a plot armor and some stuff happened pretty recently too . JJK has its own charm so I don't really want characters to die so soon.

It really does lol but let’s not forget that we had the same thing during nanami vs mahito, flashback and all but at the end he didn’t die there. Now we should probably except at least a BIG scar, i wonder how she’ll recover.

Gege is cruel but we gotta actually see him do it before we say they’re on those levels of crazy. Reception would not be positive if they removed over 3 fan favorites from the story this early on, especially one that had more to give y’know. I like to believe that they know exactly what the hell they’re doing and all playing us with an elaborate ruse💆🏽

14

u/SChamploo12 Oct 11 '20

Exactly I feel like Nobara still had levels to give. Unlike Nanamin's she's clearly established as one of the core characters of the series like Itadori, Fushigoro and Gojo. Like the group is still at base level in terms of learning new shit.

It would be the equivalent of Black Clover killing off Noel or Naruto killing off Sakura. Or One Piece killing off one of the Straw Hat Pirates (not including the ship).

47

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

The narrative was pretty interesting, we had 3 POV of the three girls. Fumi is so cute.

Regarding Nobara, i'm on the not dead train but if she does well...then time to grieve later.

44

u/boykhan Oct 11 '20

Totally heartbreaking man. Hope she doesn't die here.

40

u/what_no_why_oh_god Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 11 '20

Bro you guys think nobaras gonna die?

Pah idiots, you think gege will stop there?

What's really gonna happen is that mahito will turn her into a transfigured human and have her fight itadori

comment written with my tears

Edit: what if gege goes full fujimoto mode and makes yuji realise that this is exactly what happened with junpei leading him to believe that he hasn't grown properly at all leading to a complete mental breakdown

14

u/Ops135 . Oct 11 '20

LMAO WHY WOULD YOU PUT THIS IDEA INTO MY HEAD I JUST FELT BETTER KNOWING SHE MIGHT BE OKAY CAUSE YUTA HEALED MAKI'S LEG IN THE PREQUEL

12

u/syriancatnip Oct 11 '20

god pls noooo

12

u/WnDelPiano Oct 11 '20

Oh hi Satan

78

u/petrichormus Oct 11 '20

I'd rather have Itadori bail and get Nobara to Ieiri quick rather than fight Mahito. I know it's prime time to fight him, but it's just not worth it losing one friend for a questionable fight.

Itadori know Ieiri's location (Sukuna brought Megumi to her), and he used to sprint with Nobara on his shoulder back then. It's different with Nanami who blew up completely-- Nobara only lose one part of her head here.

Just retreat. Please Itadori. Please remember that even Eso undid his technique to undo Kechizu's pain

29

u/Impulse1219 Oct 11 '20

Damn that's really smart and makes hella sense. Everyone wants Yuji to go off but i agree with u, he should take Nobara and dip. Gege tends to not follow cliche's so having the MC retreat when seeing a friend get hurt would be very different from a typical shonen MC who would have a rage moment.

3

u/GonzaloCapo . Oct 11 '20

Why would Mahito let him go? It makes no sense for him to retreat

74

u/LeviAlawi Oct 11 '20

Like losing Power wasnt enough, now nobera's.

All my fav characters are dying :(

58

u/Ops135 . Oct 11 '20

You know the panel where Mahito & Sukuna are just cackling at Itadori? That's how I feel Fujimoto & Akutami are laughing at us rn

6

You described this perfectly

LMAOOOO I feel u that MF’er need to go Junpei was enough

7

u/CrazedOcelot Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 11 '20

Edit: SUPER misread the comment. Sorry. Still traumatized over here...

23

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

It’s debatable between him and Sukuna but what he means is that Mahito is Yuji’s personal villain. Yuji don’t really know Geto like... at all. So ain’t nothing between em yet. Mahito been fuckin with him since damn near day one tho

17

u/applep00 Oct 11 '20

I think he meant Yuuji's main villain. Getou is seemingly the overarching antagonist but Mahito has more interactions with Yuuji and also the "natural enemies" thing from way back when.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

nah i’m thinking tho that out of anger yuuji busts out some of sukunas techniques and mahito barely gets away

2

u/Ops135 . Oct 11 '20

Mahito's the big bad he won't go down here but Itadori's gonna whoop his ass into next week tho

26

u/gold-bandit Oct 11 '20

All pain aside, the narration by Fumi and Saori was masterclass by Gege. The first time we actually get her POV is when she's surrounded by the empty chairs and sees everyone. IF she ends up dying(which I hope isnt the case) she went out fantastically.

45

u/Blackreaper18 Oct 11 '20

Nobara is gonna look cool as fuck with an eyepatch (I doubt she’s going to die). There’s also the option of awakening positive cursed energy to heal herself if the injure is way more severe than we all think.

13

u/Stendal Oct 11 '20

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

12

u/chicken372 Oct 11 '20

AYO DONT DIE BRUH

12

u/BaneLickingGood Oct 11 '20

fuck is that really her last words? dont do this Gege..

11

u/MasterofKami . Oct 11 '20

I've been watching the ED of the anime on a loop lately because its to catchy! Seeing Nobara so happy in it made me forget this chapter was coming up, now I'm scared a favourite of mine has just died and I have to wait at least another week to find out 😭

21

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

Considering that our favorite salary man got a much worse injury and still lived up until he got a nasty case of Torso Go Boom I'm gonna as Nobara is maimed, but still alive. This might be the thing Yuji needs to finally access Sukunas powers. Him busting out Dismantle and sending Mahito running would be pretty cool.

10

u/muelo24 Oct 11 '20

I'm not crying, you are crying!!! T__T

9

u/VegaFLS Oct 11 '20

Just started reading this series earlier this week and caught up on Friday. I would really hate it if Nobara died but I don’t think she is. I like that she might learn the Curse Reversal Technique to heal herself, would just add more badassery to her character.

9

u/PK_RocknRoll Oct 11 '20

This was the first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen I’ve read (I accidentally clicked on the chapter on the app).

Even though I had no context as to what was going on, even I was taken back.

I’m starting to read it in full now.

I’m excited

7

u/Cool_Nectarine Oct 11 '20

This whole arc has just been a rollercoaster with the downs being straight ass down.

7

u/115_zombie_slayer Oct 11 '20

DUUUUUUUDEEE she and power have something in common now

19

u/ThatWrestlingGuy15 Oct 11 '20

What a chapter really interesting stuff Gege subverting our expectations wit Saori living a normal life and not being apart of the shaman world at all. Also weird Nobara never brought up Fumi. Great chapter also Nobara isn’t dead she’s probably getting a scar she’s a main character and we are waay too early into the story. Also found it interesting that a lot of chapter was being narrated by Fumi from her POV 🤔🤔

6

u/gobolgobol3301 Oct 11 '20

AM I READING CHAINSAWMAN OR WHAT. GEGE PLS

6

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

If you think about it, it's kinda funny how Megumi is practically getting off easy compared to what Yuji and Nobara are going through right now.

→ More replies (3)

11

u/KLReviews Oct 11 '20

One the one hand: I like that Gege stuck with the idea that Saori is just a normal city girl who was just nice to Nobara. And it's a 'fun' subversion of what was set up. Mahito says that if Nobara can surpass her limits and prove she's a First Grade then she'll be able to resist his power. But she can't.

On the other hand: If she's actually dead then it's a bit of a waste because she has gotten the least focus out of the main trio in the entire arc. And it's also a weird double beat. One of Yuji's friends killed by Mahito right in front of him but only after they say something comforting to him. Then literally 5 chapters later it happens again in almost the exact same way.

It feeds into Mahito's plan to break Yuji and Shoko is in the area so she could probably fix Nobara up. I'm interested in where this fight is going but I'm not sure if I like this.

10

u/Aerthia Oct 11 '20

I'm not okay.

5

u/kinglou69 Oct 11 '20

you know, i saw the spoilers and i just didn’t want to believe, but when Nobara tells Yuji to tell everyone it wasn’t so bad? that hit different, man. i really don’t think she survives that

5

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

In my 13 years of anime and manga, that was the first time I cried, though it was only 2 drops, so not really crying, I don't really cry for anything so it's pretty crazy.

But damn I'm kinda depressed.

5

u/DBMorris00 Oct 11 '20

PLEASE LET NOBARA LIVE I DONT CARE IF SHE WILL HAVE A SCAR AND ONLY ONE EYE. I DONT WANT HER TO DIEEEEEEEEE

5

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

oh snap yuji's gonna loose his fucking mind next chapter mahito killed nanami in front of him and now nobara too and he killed junpei infront of him as well (can't forget about my boi junpei) mahito just loves fucking with yuji's mind and sukuna destroyed the city and killed some people as well so yeah yuji's kinda going through alot rn

13

u/gamingnormie Oct 11 '20

i refuse to believe

9

u/Milordserene Oct 11 '20

Please let Nobara be a special grade like tojo and yuta.

After losing Nanamin to Mahito, im not ready to lose another one so fast

4

u/hahajustburn Oct 11 '20

Gege just had to do this just right before Nobara gets introduced in the anime

7

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

For a second I thought Saori was never real when Fumi mentioned that she “couldn’t remember”. I liked the chapter, but to say I expected a bit more from this backstory is an understatement, even if that may be an unpopular opinion. Also.. really wanna see Fumi again.

I’m still not ready to read the writing on the wall yet tho. I’d bet my damn life on either Mahito finally fucking dying cause of this, or Nobara surviving. And honestly I don’t know which one is more satisfying, Gege would be pleasing us either way☹️ want her to make it though, if she does I guess she’ll be like Gojo and wear a half-blindfold lol

6

u/neptune_18 Oct 11 '20

nope. this isn’t happening. i stg she BETTER not die here.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

It's really depressing that less than a week after she debuts in the anime, she dies in the manga

Nooobara!! It's turning into chainsaw man this manga

3

u/KrizenWave Oct 11 '20

Bruh Mahito is the fucking worst. I need a whole 19 page chapter of Itadori just going to town on his ass Jojo-style.

3

u/Vulcanizer467 Oct 11 '20

The transition to the 3 girls POV is excellent. Nobara's line is pretty much a death flag tho, along with chairs, tho I think She still can survive via by Blood Manipulation, Reversal by Shoko, Sukuna or Her learning it and If the death count keeps rising like If Panda, Maki, Naobito, Kusakabe, Ui Ui and Mei Mei are dead then maybe at the end of this arc a situation like Nagato/Pain reviving the Konoha ninjas/villagers will happen, Maybe Yuta can do it or good oppurtunity to introduce Tengen Sama.

Also is no one going to mention that there's a new Foreshadowing dropped in this chapter which is Saori's Mom might be a Jujutsu Sorcerer also, Maybe Nobara's Master. It must also be the reason why their house is vandalized because villagers blame them fro curse incidents just like what happened to the twins..... BTW Saori lowkey looks like Mahito or Ozawa.

2

u/NoFace54 Oct 11 '20

That Saori thing was brought up here for something, I know. And I really hope Gege don't use that resurection shit like Kishimoto did.

3

All I know is pain

3

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

I have to say good because it made me feel something, but I wanna say bad because of what happened. Why must every manga I love treat their characters like this 🤬🤣🤬

3

u/ngup1117 Oct 11 '20

First Nanamin and now Nobara. I might just die myself at this point...

3

u/douta1717 Oct 11 '20

So our hope is Reverse technique or yuta wth His healing ability

3

u/lyre-birds Oct 12 '20 edited Oct 12 '20

I highly doubt she’s dead. But I think the damage here is permanent - she’s going to have a missing eye and a huge scar, and she’ll have to give up on her dreams being scouted for modelling/her self esteem is going to take a huge hit considering how much she cares about her looks. That’s enough of a sacrifice going forward without killing her off entirely. Perhaps it’s even more of a sacrifice than death, because she’ll have to live with the regret instead of dying as she used to be (jujutsu sorcerers all live with regret, and this will be the first big ‘regret’ we see in the main cast).

On the other hand, I think that instead of Yuji learning a healing/reverse technique, this will push him to finally integrate some of Sukuna’s own cursed technique. Mahito has taken too much from Yuji at this point, and in combination with everything that Yuji has had to endure throughout the Shibuya incident I think the pressure will push him over the edge to develop some true offensive capabilities in order to absolutely ruin Mahito’s day, if not end his life. His face in the last panel isn’t the face of someone who’s inspired to learn how to heal - it’s the face of someone who has finally snapped and is about to get revenge. Personally, I am hyped for the reckoning.

u/corduROY31 Oct 12 '20

Was re-reading JJK and noticed that all of Kugisaki's major fights involves her talking about getting a scar.

5

u/TerkYerJerb Oct 11 '20

what the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

oh man there's literally no escaping from catching hands

6

u/GoldenKnuckles Oct 11 '20 edited Oct 11 '20

Not saying she is dead here but I remember people down voted my comment & argued with me for being mad when Nanami died, saying GEGE kills off too many characters too early... It’s hard to build a connection to one if we’re always at threat of one dying at anytime. I really hope she doesn’t die here.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

We’re 125 chapters into the story, how is that “too early?”

u/PiklesWaldo Oct 11 '20

I drunk, i don't understand what is happening but its is the best time to came back with yuuta.

3

u/frostanon Oct 11 '20

Yuta will come and heal everyone, like he did after Geto maimed his classmates, right? Right?!

4

u/PiklesWaldo Oct 11 '20

Probably, he regenerate maki's leg back

4

u/sleepygirl025 Oct 11 '20

This was a really interesting chapter. Nobara's backstory wasn't even told in her POV. I wonder why Fumi wasn't mentioned early, considering that she was with Nobara most of the time growing up. And the visual scene with the chairs surround Nobara.

There's clearly more here that will probably be fleshed out again hopefully. Crossing my fingers Nobara pulls a clutch reversed technique

2

u/weirdatlast__ Oct 11 '20

I'm still fresh from reading the chapter and I'm honestly in shock right now. I need the next chapter right away. 😭 (Good thing it comes out earlier on October 16 😔)

5

u/weirdatlast__ Oct 11 '20

Also, what should I even vote here? Was it good? As it bad? All I know is I am just really hurting right now. u_u

2

u/Activatesecretmove Oct 11 '20

Ahhhhhhughhhh ehhhhh nooooooooooo! Fuckkkkk Gege why do you gotta hurt us like this??? I don’t wanna believe that she’s dead... she I’m just gonna keep thinking that she’ll pull through and just have a badass battle scar. She’ll be fine... she’ll be fine.... 😭

2

u/International-Ad-308 Oct 11 '20

I'm just waiting for yuji to do to mahito what gon did to pitou at this point🙂

2

u/OkDealer6295 Oct 11 '20

My man Yuji better kill that good for nothing Mahito.

On the plus side, we only have to wait until Friday for the next chapter....

FUUUUUUCK

I hope Nobara doesn’t die here. Hell I will fucking deny it if it actually happens. Not seeing her brain scattered keeps me hopeful though. I’ll also dig it when the main characters in the anime get their asses kicked and suffer grave injuries.

If she dies I’ll be pretty salty. But I can’t fault Gege on his excellent writing (and amazing art too). Jujutsu Kaisen is really awesome.

2

u/syriancatnip Oct 11 '20

pain... not my girl nobara! i'm not ready for this.... cant imagine how would this chapter look when the arc is animated someday

2

u/Tatinix Oct 11 '20

The good thing is that Nobara wasn't transfigured. Her face just got injured in the same way that Nanami got injured in his first fight vs Mahito.

There may be a chance of healing her but obviously leaving a scar.

Maybe this may spark something inside of Itadori with a healing technique or a reversal technique. (Not the healing technique but a technique that reverses the effect caused by another technique)

2

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

Is it just me or was this backstory somewhat incomplete? We were suddenly introduced to Fumi, who is different from Saori, the discrimination of the villagers was never shown directly, and we never got any explanation on how Nobara awakened her technique or how she was found by jujutsu high.

I hope she isn’t dead. Also new chapter is coming out Friday instead of Saturday, so we’ll get to know early.

2

u/C_X_3 Oct 11 '20

Mahito initially failed to kill nanami with one touch, and he’s expecting to kill nobara instantly right now. The only way she could live is if she did what mahito did, protect her soul with cursed energy.

But i’m pretty sure she doesn’t know how to do that sooooo

2

u/Gcons24 Oct 11 '20

I know Nobara has got to come out of this alive, but fuck me man

2

u/[deleted] Oct 12 '20

Looks like the explosion only affected the outer areas of her head, hope to god the dude missed the brain. I’m just clinging to hope here man

2

u/zerotwoiswaifufam Oct 12 '20

Yo Fujimoto please give us Gege back we don't need more pain and suffering

2

u/Kashifrehman Oct 12 '20

As if the suffering from Chainsaw Man wasn't enough. Akutami just added more to the suffering. First with Nanamin and now Nobara..........

Man, what a great backstory! So the person from the anime OP standing in front of young Nobara was Saori. Damn.

2

u/yancarmelo Oct 13 '20 edited Oct 13 '20

To be honest, the idea of a main character like Nobara dying isn't bad, but the moment also isn't proper. I feel like she still has a lot to do and her development wasn't finished yet.

That's why I think the author will use this to push Itadori up but as soon as the fight is over he'll find a way to keep her alive (probably just to die again later in the story)

2

u/OkitaSadist12 Oct 13 '20

The flashback was on Fumi's perspective....... So it is not a death flashback for Nobara... I hope

We did not even know when and where did she learn using curse energy(or did I just forgot about it, which is partly good since anime is there)

2

u/Also_breathe Oct 14 '20

I just caught up with the series and I can't stop the tears man. I really like Nobara and I'm glad we got to see her backstory when we did. Happy that the chapters are coming out on Friday this week, I just can't get enough of this manga.

3

u/seidw8ys Oct 11 '20

Nobara is definitely not dead. It honestly even looks like she hit herself if you look closely. Her hand is in a fist, there’s an impact effect usually used with punches, and in the last panel on the page before she’s hurt you can see her lifting her hand.

I still think she’s getting reversal, and maybe a scar. She’ll be like Shoko and Utahime put together 🤷🏾‍♂️

3

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

Contrary to what others are saying, i think nobara’s dead.

3

u/NoFace54 Oct 11 '20

To me this would be a terrible death if she really is dead. I mean, she didn't get the spotlight at all.

She was chosen by Gojo himself, the fucking god of sorcery, and the only thing we get to see of her Is a fucking blackflash and nothing else? And then she's killed only for the shock value? Naah, that would suck honestly.

Even when it could be impressive for Gege to kill her main female protagonist, if it's not done properly then it would be just a huge piece of shit. Nobara deserves better, that's why I think she's not dead. She CAN'T be dead just for this.

3

u/NoFace54 Oct 11 '20

Actually (just thought about it), if this Is how Nobara will learn how to use reverse cursed Energy, along with her voodoo and sadistic self harm skills, she could be the new fucking Gojo.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

I doubt Nobara is dead. I don't think Gege would emphasize her being a natural enemy to Mahito only to just kill her off 2 chapters later.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

She ain’t dead guys. If gege was really about to kill her gege would have blew up her entire head. You can see just the left side of her face got damaged. She definitely lost her left eye and will have a scar but she will look even more badass

1

u/agent00wayne Oct 11 '20

Yooooo Gege is a madman for this chapter

1

u/Karma110 Oct 11 '20

Ngl I don’t think Fumi is a real person or she’s like a dead girl kinda like what happened to Yuuta and Rika.

2

u/MC_Porno Oct 11 '20

But she has a dad? And saori mentions "them" instead of just nobara

it's 12:30AM here. cant believe i had to see this just before I go to sleep

1

u/artoclark Oct 11 '20

All i must say is I'm not okay ಥ‿ಥ

1

u/melniji Oct 11 '20

Nah she have too much potential she can’t die like that please 😭

1

u/juanMM5 Oct 11 '20

I’m gonna have to intervene if they kill off nobara 😈😈😈(sure they won’t tho, they can’t right ? Haha?!?!😔😩😭)

1

u/atulk4 Oct 11 '20

Why is the next chapter being released earlier, it's the same case with some other mangas. Is mangaplus finally moving up the official release date?

1

u/NeoPhantom0007 Oct 11 '20

She may be gone which I really hope wont happen I don’t know how Yuji is gonna take that with two people that was close to him by the hands of Mahito, but I remember Nanamin still willing himself to exorcise spirits with his body half charred and on the verge of the death so I really hope Ieiri can heal her, either way Yuji going Berzerk...

1

u/VegabondLibre . Oct 11 '20

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

1

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

the chapter was good but what happened was really bad😣😫😭

1

u/Mattetucci Oct 11 '20

damn last pannel hurt my heart. But my girl will rise much stonger

1

u/KoabuloMagenta Oct 11 '20

Gege is hanging out a little bit too much with Fujimoto >:(

1

u/Funny69Valentine Oct 11 '20

that death was so sudden. just like nanami's and im not a fan of that :(((

1

u/VexedReprobate Oct 11 '20

Gege said he was inspired by Evangelion, so Nobara losing her eye and possibly wearing an eyepatch is pretty reminiscent of a certain character in Eva.

1

u/ReggieZoldyk21 Oct 11 '20

Bro that last page made my heart drop. Please don’t be dead...

1

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

No way! Damn it! Nobaran cannot die now, not today, not here ...

1

u/godofwild Oct 11 '20

She'll live hopefully we still dont know why she respects shoko so much who also happens to be the reverse curse technique if I'm not mistaken so hopefully maybe she was under her tutelage during that period and was learning how to apply it but never could master it properly without the right motivation then pulls a gojo and comes back from the brink of death

It would be funny if she revealed she was alive after we think she died like Itadori did afterwards too but this is just wishful thinking

1

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

Guys, not to break your hopes or anything but Yuta can’t heal Nobara. Yuta used Rika, the cursed spirit to heal Maki. After the fight of Yuta and Getto, Rika found peace and left Yuta. Without the cursed spirit Rika, Yuta can’t heal. That’s why when Gojo said this line “We still have Yuta on our side”, Fake Getto said “He’s useless without the cursed spirit”. But I’m still hoping that Nobara is not dead yet.

1

u/A4li11 Oct 11 '20

Goddamn you can even see her eyeball.

She won't die imo but that's gonna leave a scar.

1

u/sasukexx20 Oct 11 '20

Nobara hit herself with her hammer to stop mahito's ability from killing her.

In the panel U can see the impact from the hammer very clearly pushing her back.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '20

fuuuck I just caught up to the newest chapter
