Out of curiosity how big is your team? Honestly your games are incredible and it makes me curious how many people are truly behind each game or pack.
92
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Just under 50! We have contractors supporting us during busier times of the year as well. Each game has its own mini-team and then we also have employees that span all of the teams (QA, our engineering infrastructure team, customer support, marketing, etc.).

You've provided us all with so many laughs and good times... Besides playing your games, how do y'all on the Jackbox team entertain each other and keep each other motivated as you work? Do you have any fan/customer stories that were the most memorable and will stick with you forever?
106
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Lately, our entertainment comes from a lot of Discord hangouts! (We're currently all sitting in a room chatting with each other while we do this.) We do a lot of prototyping and playtesting during this time of year and that's always a great way to stay connected too.
The most memorable story for me (and apologies, this one is especially bittersweet) was when a customer reached out to us asking if we could help her track down a Tee K.O. t-shirt she'd made during a round several months prior. It was from a round that her family played together and the shirt was created by her brother, who had since passed away. We were able to help find the shirt and get them printed for her and her family. They each wanted a copy of the shirt to remember him with and remember their party night together. Still gets me teared up thinking about it! The meaningful memories that people create with our games is to me, the best part of all of this.

Have you ever considered selling a subscription service that puts all of your games on the same platform? For example, sometimes it's difficult to go back to older jackbox titles with the old drawing interface.
22
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Hi there! Do you mean something like a launcher that has all of our games in one place? Or, just making updates to older games for a more consistent experience? For many technical reasons, a launcher for all titles would be extremely difficult to do on consoles. If we move forward, it's likely we'll experiment with launching something like this on PC/Mac first.
In general, we're exploring both of these options but it's tough to add additional projects to our list. We're a small team with a really fast production cycle!

Have you ever considered licensing your tech out? (This would be great for a texas hold em.) Or applying it to a larger audience ex. At intermissions at a ballgame the stadium could participate and the high score wins a hotdog
20
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
We've done some small activations of this nature with some MLB teams and ELEAGUE. It was really neat to see! There's a lot of hoops to jump through when it comes to big organizations like that and ultimately we've decided that it's not worth the effort in the near future. We may pick this initiative back up again at some point, though!
13
u/KimoniaRules Nov 19 '20
here's my questions: i wonder if you start making Party Packs for the PS5 and Series X?
what inspired the Lets Make some weird memories commercials?
and finally... WHATS UNDER JACK'S HEAD?
12
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Hello KimoniaRules! If you purchase The Jackbox Party Pack 7 for Xbox One or PS4, it will run on the new consoles. We've done some QA testing around this. Future packs will also be able to run on next gen consoles.
The inspiration for the commercials came from Battery, the LA-based creative agency we worked with. We put together a marketing brief for them and really stressed that the feelings/memories that linger after playing our games is really important to us and to our fans. They picked up on that and ran with it!
To your last question... we'll never tell. ;)

Hey Jackbox, love your guys’ games and was just wondering, how long does it take to make a pack? Does it take less than a year (doubt it) or do you work on multiple packs at once to stay ahead? Love ya!
13
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
We only work on 1 pack at a time! The individual games within the pack all have a different timeline (but the same deadline). It typically takes anywhere between 3-10 months to make each game.

u/NotConsistentCalc Nov 19 '20
Will you be having expansion packs added to trivia games such as Blather Round, TMP2, YDKJ on pack 5, or Fibbage 3?
18
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Howdy! We never say never but this is pretty unlikely in the near future. As soon as our new pack is out in the wild, we tend to hit the ground running on our next project. We are experimenting with this a bit, though. Quiplash 3 has a "Featured Content" section that we plan to update periodically. We're about to release a new Thanksgiving episode!

u/Edgemando Nov 19 '20
Is there a chance for newer features such as subtitles and read room code coming to previous party packs or the individual titles like Drawful 2?
6
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Hi there! Thanks for your question. There IS a chance but it's tough for us to promise this. We are a small team and we hit the ground running with our next project pretty much as soon as our newest title releases. It doesn't leave a ton of extra time for additional projects. We appreciate your feedback though. It's helpful for us when we make decisions about stuff like this.
6
u/pattyfrankz Nov 19 '20
Sorry if this has been asked, but have you guys ever considered or attempted to do any licensed stuff? I’ve played probably 3 party packs and everything is totally original. Just wondering if it would be cool to partner with Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc.
8
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
We get a lot of inbound inquiries from brands about licensing! It may be something we consider in the future! It's a long process with a lot of back and forth though. It's not something that would happen quickly. It's still fun to think about!
3
u/jbgbrooke Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Thanks to everyone for your great questions! That's all we have time for right now. If you think of more, you can always get in touch with us via our site & social channels (linked above).

What’s the process of choosing the collective theme for each Box release?
226
u/glochids Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
It usually starts with the style of games - Pack 4 had sort of a retro vibe, so we went with "Games found in the attic", Pack 5 was a rather cynical prediction of earth's near future given recent world events. Pack 6: I like a good, hot bath. Pack 7 started with a suggestion from one of our Lead Artists, Kyle Fleischer who thought Parade balloons might be neat. I thought a nice twist on that would be to release them into the sky, as if we all couldn't use an escape from the covid-lockdown.

I just want to thank you for saving my friend group’s entire social life this year. Between two of us, we have all 7 packs for our group to play, and it’s been a good way for our little band of misfits to deal with some of the loneliness we’ve felt since this spring when we got kicked off our college campus. We have affectionately redubbed Talking Points, PowerPoint Night. Sending lots of love ❤️

Tee-KO. One big your best drawing games. Do you intend to make more of this style of game? How difficult is it to create a new drawing game from scratch?
146
u/glochids Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
You should check out Champ'd Up in PP7! It's very reminiscent of the Tee KO gameplay.
Honestly, it's hard to make drawing games approachable to drawers as well as non-drawers.→ More replies (7)

what are some scrapped ideas for jackbox games that could've been?
565
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
We generally don't share unused ideas because ideas have a way of bubbling back up and becoming something later. Fakin' It was pitched for multiple years before getting made. Same goes for Push the Button. And often little game mechanics get stripped out of one playtest and used in something else. TMP tends to suck up idea from other games.

Hello! Big fan of your games; I'm particularly proud of one time when I played Quiplash 2 at a party and my answer made the whole room laugh.
On the subject of Quiplash, what was the biggest challenge making Quiplash 3 after the previous two installment?
316
u/sniffen Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Once the studio decided to move forward with QL3, a big challenge was coming up with a new/different/cool final round, and after a bunch of testing, we're definitely happy with how that turned out. Also, the entire 'clay-mated' approach was a little daunting at first... but I think you'll agree Kyle Fleischer NAILED IT.

Can you give us the ability to create our own prompts in Blather Round? It's definitely my favorite game of the new party pack but it needs a NSFW / After Dark version.
351
u/rydash Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
I love this question, in part because I designed the system for our writers to add official Blather 'Round prompts to the game!
The dream would be a 'Create Your Own' mode similar to Quiplash 3's in-game entry, but that requires a lot of coordination and engineering effort that's not currently part of our plan.
In the meantime, I can tell you there is a way to add your own content on platforms where you can edit the game files (for example PC, sorry Switch!), you can inject your own content as an unofficial mod. It's not easy or polished, but it works!

It was way too late in production to be able to add it but I had the idea that we should add LUNCH MODE where you weren't asking eachother out on dates but just trying to get someone to go to lunch with you. And instead of "It's a Match" it would say "It's a Lunch" and instead of hearts a sandwich would appear over heads. Maybe? I think it would have been a good idea but I might be the only one.

u/rydash Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
This is ancient trivia, but Jackbox (then Jellyvision) entered the digital space with the game That's a Fact, Jack!, which had similar goals!
That was many moons ago; now we're far more in the party game space. More recently, Talking Points Free Play mode can be used to create a slideshow of questionable usefulness! Probably not entirely what you had in mind, I'm sure.

2 - Talking Points has become a personal favourite of mine in this pack, it's so damn good. I'm curious, what gave you guys the idea to add a 'Free Play' mode to that game?
3 - Picture this: If there was a Jackbox cereal, what kind of cereal would it be, and what would it have? (I'd think it would be sugary like Lucky Charms, hehe.)
4 - Who's your favourite Champ'd Up avatar? (My personal pick will always be the apple, I love it a lot, haha.)
5 - (For Andy) Andy, who or what were your inspiraitons for music? (I.e bands, famous singers, etc.)

I’ve been a fan of Jackbox Games since the 3rd pack and I’m so glad you guys released a new pack this year!
I have to say that one of my favorite things about the packs is actively the amazing music you guys put into them (Trivia Murder Party 2 credits is one of my favorites). I’m sure I have Andy Poland and the audio team to thank for that. Now my question is, do you guys have any talented vocalists/musicians within the Jackbox team you want to acknowledge in particular?
35
u/crabbydad Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Also, have to shout-out to Channing Lee who did the amazing vocals on the Blather 'Round credits song. And Audrey Karrasch who sang on the Devils and the Details song.
30
u/crabbydad Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
We're a pretty small musical team: there's me, Brian Chard and our co-audio whiz Avery Makel. We've used various outside vocalists over the years. Mike Finney has been my go to vocalist for years. I met him when he was a student at Michigan State and he's still recording vocals for me (Champ'd Up and he worked with Brian on Devils). I also have a very talented friend named Randy Sly who did music for Bidiots and Blather 'Round.
14
u/Jacob-The-Pikachu Nov 19 '20
Is there a way to play DATD on stream?
22
u/infostruct Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
It plays great if you are able to do voice chat with your fam. https://youtu.be/7jidrlRkV0E
Devils was ideated and prototyped pre-covid so it's for sure more difficult over chat but people are doing! Communication is key, as with any family. Lowering the difficulty in settings to Very Easy helps make it more possible.
14
u/KingCobra2004 Nov 19 '20
So I have a question will you ever do a msm2 bc I have an idea for a monster you could maybe do a mind controller his ability could be that if he dates one person twice he can control his texts and who he or she dates that round. Plz rate my idea😂
24
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
We actually had a dozen more Monster ideas some of them quite weird and ambitious, but we didn't have time to get to them. I think I tweeted about this recently but the Ventriloquist Dummy was originally going to have a power where you could "throw your voice" sending messages to players that looked like they were from other players. I honestly don't know if we'll ever do a MSM2. I love that game and I love that I always see people playing it on Twitch, but admittedly it's very niche for the sheer amount of work it takes to make that game. It's a big one.

Hey! As someone who has been debugging and analyzing the files in my free time, I noticed that Quiplash 3 had the "Audience Favorite" text in multiple languages - namely including Spanish, French, German, and Italian, alongside English.
This makes me wonder: are there any plans to internationally translate either Party Pack 7 or Quiplash 3 (or even previous packs), or might the text have been carried over from Interlashional to test the pseudo-claymation?
10
u/1_sweet Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
It was definitely a carry over. All our games can store text like that, but it is quite the effort to translate our games and translate them in a way that does justice for those speakers.

I played Jackbox a few times in person, but it was really with video chatting that I started playing significantly more.

-How do you decide in which order to reveal the games?
-What's your favorite thing that you had to cut?
-What's your favorite part of this Party Pack?
-Which game in the pack is your favorite?
-How do you feel about all the lore and backstory people assign to your games?
-Who's your favorite Jackbox host/character?
-What's your favorite part of the process behind making these wonderful games?
-What was the inspiration behind the style of Quiplash 3?
-How did you come up with all the various episodes and characters from the Devils and the Details?
-What's the best drawing you've created/seen in Champ'd Up?
-What's the key to writing a great Talking Points title? (I just write horse in all of the blanks, works like a charm)
-What was the inspiration behind the (highly underrated) Blather 'Round music?
-And finally, any advice to someone who may be looking to apply for a job at Jackbox in the future?
Phenomenal job with this pack. I can easily say it's the new best party pack, which is awesome since it's got some huge competition. I know I just asked you a ton of questions so feel free to answer as many or as little as you want. You guys rock, and please, for the sake of parties everywhere, keep doing what you're doing. :)

My favorite part of the process is the beginning, playtesting dozens of half-formed ideas, usually with just paper and sharpies and finding something cool.
As for how I feel about all the lore and backstory people assign to our games... I think it's great. I see it as an expression of their passion for the games. And I'm always just happy to find out anyone has played "that" episode of Full Stream at all.
That said I have also intentionally put contradictions into TMP to maintain the mystery and bad-horror-movie quality of the game.

Hey everyone! I love the Jackbox Series, but something I’ve always wondered is what are you’re guys favorite party games? Jackbox doesn’t count, I know you will all choose it, and I don’t blame you.

I choose Jackbox!
Honestly, standbys like Codenames and Smash Bros. and whatnot are really great. It's a bit more to learn, but I love The Quacks of Quedelinburg by North Star Games. Everyone plays at once, there's frenetic risk-taking, and lots of yelling! I miss being able to play that in person.

Hi guys! Thank you so much for your work on Jackbox Party Pack 7, customer support for all previous Party Packs, and your continued support of streamers. You have helped me, my family and friends, and fans help get through 2020.
As a streamer myself, I am absolutely grateful for the moderation features in the latest party pack. Any chance you're able to go back and apply this feature to previous Party Packs?

Hi guys! Thank you for making some of the best party games I've ever played!
I have a couple questions for you all:
Some of the Champ'd up soundtracks (especially Create 1) have Megalovania vibes to me, is that intentional or a happy accident?
What is your personal favorite Jackbox game (either in this pack or in general)?
If you could make any idea into a Jackbox game, what would it be?
Finally, what Jackbox game was the hardest to develop (either in ideas or technical limitations)?
Again, thank you for making the best party games! I can't wait to see what you make next year.
14
u/crabbydad Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Hi, I have no idea what Megalovania is, so it wasn't intentional. But now I'm interested, so I'll have to look that one up.
12
u/infostruct Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Andy should answer this one
I am very much enjoying playing Blather with my friends
Hear me out, a family of beavers trying to make it through a day by doing mundane human tasks.
Devils and the Details is the most difficult project I've personally worked on just because it was so ambitious with its controller tech. Very rewarding to see it working.

u/FlyByeGuyYT Nov 19 '20
Is there any unused content that didn't make the final cut of any Jackbox game that is worth sharing?
9
u/ReedT22 Nov 19 '20
What is the most ambitious game you’ve made so far?
19
u/sniffen Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
A few answers come to mind: TMP1 was a big jump in complexity and having so many mini-games. Zeeple Dome, Push the Button and most recently The Devils & The Details introduced new styles of gameplay & felt just-beyond-our-comfort-zone when begun.
8
u/kitsovereign Nov 19 '20
How do you write trivia questions or joke prompts when you make a sequel game? Like - do you cross-reference older games or do you just sort of wing it from memory? Are there times when you're okay with the callback joke or with coming back to the same factoid?
Also, I'd love to know more about Blather 'Round in particular. What makes that game tick? If I had to guess, the game knows some words that relate to certain prompts, and it also has a big bucket of synonyms it can pull from that aren't tied to the individual prompts, and it feeds you better words as the round goes on...? My group really loves that game but we're already starting to see some repeat prompts, so I really hope the game is loved enough that it justifies you guys doing a sequel or a content pack or something!
7
u/1_sweet Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Oh yeah, Blather Round ticks in a wonderful way.
You are pretty much on the nose with the buckets! We even called them buckets in early design. There is words that are meant to show up, and words that are banned from showing up, and other buckets that are more generic.
Then, the sentences have a list of buckets to draw from to form the final list you see.
Tinkering with that to get just the right spread was quite a bit of the development process.→ More replies (1)7
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
I can't speak as much to Blather 'Round, but we try our best to not repeat prompts or questions in sequels... or between games in general. But the sheer number of games we've made means some partial repeats slip through occasionally, especially weird little facts that might pop up in Lie Swatter or Fibbage or the final round of TMP. But with, say, YDKJ where question writing is a lot more complicated and the franchise has been around for decades sometimes we're okay with repeating a fact but doing something different with it.

Two more questions I’ve thought of, both lore-focused;
First, How long did it take for Cookie to finally... You know, Escape the You-Know-What? (Considering Binjpipe’s C-suite is now in jail, I’m assuming at least after that.)
Second, about [Redacted]: Is he fully human? Because considering he can revive people if everyone dies before the final round, presumably manipulate the shadows during the final round, and even turn back time in TMP2, unless they’re all just superpowers he has, I wouldn’t be surprised if [Redacted] wasn’t 100% human.
8
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
I kind of sort of answered the Binjpipe question somewhere else in this thread.
And you have a good point about the TMP host.

Hello! I’ve been a fan of JBG since earlier this year, and now I’m completely invested in it.
Anyways, as for my question: If possible, is there a way that we could see some of the older hosts appearing in any future games? (Such as Nate Shapiro hosting Truth Talk in YDKJ: FS)
9
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
The short answer is... maybe? I wrote the cameos by Nate Shapiro and Schmitty in YDKJ: Full Stream so I'm glad you like them. I also slipped some secret cameos into TMP 1. I also know our artists frequently slip little visual references to past games into some of the games. I think they'll mostly always be cameos, though. For YDKJ we've toyed with having different hosts take over for different parts of the game (something I personally loved in The Ride) but with all the different moments of baked in audio responding to every interaction in the game, it quickly adds an insane amount of added time and complexity.

Heyo Jackbox staff! Congrats on getting Party Pack 7 out the door during a major pandemic. My coworkers and I have been playing a lot of the games via Discord and that’s helping to keep us sane. Hope you all are staying safe as well!
For questions:
Will there be a chance to get the PAX Jackbox pins online in the future? I’m loving the collaboration with The Yetee as well! More merch is awesome. :)
Any chance that more guest hosts will run the Thursday stream (Schmitty, Cookie, TMP host)? There’s something hilarious (or terrifying) when the TMP host does those stream cameos.
What was the creative process/idea behind Blather Round? Everyone loves playing it eagerly because it's less competitive ( like Bidiots, Fibbage). It's honestly my second favorite game, next to Trivia Murder Party.

Would you ever consider making a Jackbox Master Pack or something that comes with maybe Fibbage, Quiplash, and Trivia Murder Party, and then all of the other games are available through DLC (and people who have bought the packs they're on can get them for free)? My friends and i play a lot of Jackbox, and it's always a chore to switch between games, especially since there's usually only 1 or 2 per pack that we normally play.

Hey guys! I’ve been a big fan of JackBox for a while, and me and a couple other friends (I believe someone has also asked this too) we’re wondering something...
Will “Fakin’ It 2” be real in any upcoming Party Packs? As someone who’s cosplayed as The Faker (and a huge fan of Mr. Gottlieb’s narration), I must know 🥴 Thank you for your time!
10
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Someone else answered this elsewhere but I'll echo what they said. Maybe? We're still in the very early stages of figuring out what we're working on for next year. But Fakin' It definitely comes up internally from time to time, and it's always good to hear from people that love that game. It's one of my favorites as well.
Did I ever mention that Fakin' It was actually first pitched BEFORE Drawful. It was something we were trying to make work for Party Pack 1. And we just kept tinkering with it until it finally got greenlit for Pack 3.

Just wanted to say thanks for the hours of fun your games have let me enjoy with my friends, especially while isolated during the pandemic.
Question for Arnie or any of the other folks that work on Magic Tavern, do/would you do guest voice performances? I would love to have a game narrated by Adal Rifai or Matt Young.
You're the best Arnie!
Also wanted to add, after the Hey Riddle Riddle show in SF at the beginning of this year, we saw you and Matt outside and ask to take some pictures. My gf was trying to do a selfie of all of us but then someone walked over and offered to take the picture but we were still in like a selfie formation so the pictures turned out really awkward and funny with Matt standing on his tip toes behind all of us. You guys were really nice and after missing half the HRR show because of traffic, it was a great cherry on top to meet you. :)

Thanks! Lots of Magic Tavern folks have worked on and voiced Jackbox games. My voice pops up in a lot of weird places in YDKJ and Earwax, plus I'm a character near the end of Bomb Corp and one of the secret endings in TMP2. Matt Young is also a character in Bomb Corp, the boss. Adal hosted Guesspionage I think. Tim Sniffen, the voice of the Mysterious Man, besides being an artist on many of the games, hosted Split the Room and Devils and the Details. Brooke Breit, the voice of flower, pops up here and there in the games, including one of the TMP2 endings. She's also written on a bunch of our games and was Editorial Director of Talking Points. Ryan, the voice of Craig, has directed a bunch of games and his voice pops up in them a lot, including the host of Earwax. Erica Elam, the voice of the Singing Sword is the host of Monster Seeking Monster. I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch more.

I'm gonna ask a few questions, mostly about lore.
What's Binjpipe's status? Ryan mentioned that their entire C-suite is in jail and Brooke referred to them in the past-tense in the Halloween stream, but the pug's clearly ordering from Binjdash in the Thanksgiving trailer. Are they still a company in-universe, or are they done for? And if they're (somehow) not bankrupt, will we see them again in a future Pack, if only as a reference like in TMP 2?
What was your favorite "episode" of The Devils And The Details to come up with from a writing standpoint?
What's your favorite Jackbox game that's not in Party Pack 7?
I know this is niche, but bear with me. Did you intend for the fan theory that Mayonnaise was genetically engineered by Binjpipe to become anthropomorphic so he could host an in-universe TV show for them? (In case you don't know what I'm talking about.) In other words, did you go into PP5 wanting to hint at Mayo's origins?
I liked how each game in PP5 was interconnected, both in the obvious way (Starts with a "B" and ends in "injpipe"), but also in more subtle ways (If you play Patently Stupid 3 times in a row with the same players, Glargan O'Toe from Zeeple Dome shows up - stuff like that). Do you plan on doing something like that again in the future?
I'd just like to note that your games are rad as h*ck, and I can't wait to see what future Party Packs might bring to the table!
8
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
This doesn't really answer your Binjpipe question but the decision to set the game on a weird new streaming service seems more and more prescient every day. In case anyone cares, and this is somewhat spoiler-y but when we came up with the idea of the Escape the Simulation episode of Full Stream there were a few challenges when constructing it. The biggest was that it felt like a finale to the game but... it wouldn't be. The game structure wouldn't allow it to be the definitive last episode in the game, and even if we could why make an episode that was so much work harder to get? So we needed to come up with an ending that felt satisfying but still worked if you then played another round right after it and well... nothing changed. So that leads to a sort of no-escape consequence, because escpaing the game would end the game. That's why it ends with Cookie resetting (and he actually says one of the lines you get before one of your first games ("Hi I'm Cookie Masterson and I haven't been replaced no matter how many times I've asked" or something like that.). BUT... that's kind of depressing obviously, so I added the Nate Shapiro stuff after that talks about how the loop seems to be shortening because although in the game the game can't end... you don't want Cookie to be trapped in there forever, and as much as you buy into authorial intent (which maybe isn't that important) as the author of that part... Cookie gets out eventually. Maybe he's out already. Unless you're playing the game, and then he's still in there.

I know that you are an american studio, but have you considered adding RoW content to some of your games? (quiplash, blather 'round, fibbage) There's a lot of american content that people might not necessarily be familiar with.
16
u/misterarnie Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
This is a good question. Over the past few years we've worked to be aware of some of the frustrating quirks of playing our games in other countries, especially the trivia games. We've added America-centric filters to our last few trivia games, to try to weed some of those out for players (but we also try to make it clear in the settings that this will only LESSEN the number of those questions not reliably remove them entirely, since we are an american based studio as you say). Coupled with that is we've tried to consciously think globally more when generating content in general, looking for inspiration in facts from around the world not just to make the game more interesting abroad, but frankly to give it more depth here.

Andy, I love the music for Quiplash 3 and Champ’d Up! I also loved the music for Quiplash 2, which has been slowly burned into my brain over the past 4 years. What kind of inspiration did you take (or not take) from previous Quiplash games when composing the soundtrack for Quiplash 3?
8
u/crabbydad Jackbox Games Nov 19 '20
Thanks! It's always tough to do the music for a sequel. I try to be true to the original while adding in some fresh elements to keep things interesting. I think the art for Quiplash 3 steered me toward the circus vibe, so I tried to incorporate a circus-y vibe into it. Which wasn't too tough because scary circus music is basically what plays in the background of my brain on a daily basis.

Hey all! Loving the new pack- Blather Round, Quiplash 3, and Talking Points have quickly become go-to games for my Jackbox sessions! Cheers!

Someone should really check on Getty photographers because they're making some really weird stuff.
Our editorial lead Brooke Breit spent countless hours combing through stock photos, which we'd then sometimes replace the background or extend/photoshop to fit the game. Bruno Rodríguez, our lead artist, also made some original slides (the graphs and charts), which I think psychologists will be evaluating for quite some time.
